Thanks for this video. I have a 2011 dodge ram 3500 6.7 & use it for hauling travel trailers all over the country to dealerships. My bulb on passenger side just went out at 513,000. So I decided to change both bulbs at same time. With the help of this video I will save $100 labor cost from dealership. I can now do it myself. Hope your truck is still running good.
Thank you for this many years later! I know there is a height adjustment screw that you access through the top of the fender using a hole. It's a torx bit. Going to use some electrical tape on the bit and driver to make sure I don't drop the bit inside. Need to lookup the height adjustment. You line up the beams at a certain height when your facing a wall on level ground. The screw adjusts it up and down.
thanks for the video brother you just saved me a trip the the dealer. I had some trim pieces painted on my 2011 3500 duelly and they had to remove the head lights . well the drivers side light was not working and the dealer wanted me to take it in and drop it off. I found your video and when I got the light out found it was just unplugged . just called the dealer and broke the bad news to them lol. bryan
This is a great video for anybody who wants to replace or upgrade the headlights. However you don't need to remove the headlight housing to change a bulb. There is an access flap in the wheel well. Open that flap, reach in, twist light harness and pull out. Replace bulb and reverse steps.
You dont have to take the grill off to take the headlights out. You will need a long extension. But you can get to the headlight bolts without even taking the plastic peice on top loose.
No need to take the grill off..just get a long extension to reach the bolt visible from the top. You will need to pop the light out so to get the other end free from under the lip of the grill.
This is the only video I found so far with the exact same headlight as mine, I ordered an aftermarket headlight that seem to be fine for most peoples 2012 Dodge ram, but my headlight looked Exactly like yours with two plugs and lights attached. Do you know what the model is for this headlight?
Did you ever get the new headlights you mentioned at the end of your video? I purchased the same headlights only they're blacked out where the chrome is on the original ones.
good job. thanks for the information on this. It is hard to remember but these trucks are now called RAM. The Dodge name was dropped several years ago. Keep up the good work on your Ram.
2009 was when Chrysler announced that Ram would separate from Dodge. "Ram Trucks" was founded in 2010. Since 2010 models were being sold starting in late 2009, a 2010 model could still be called a "Dodge Ram", however late built 2010s could just be called "Ram Truck". It just depends on when they were built and sold. Every truck built for 2011 to present is 100% "Ram Truck". So you're not completely wrong, but you're not completely right either.
@@2mkholley I just bought a used 2010 Ram 1500 4x4. I love this truck, but you’re right, the headlights are terrible! Click to bright and it’s worse. I’m watching this video to replace with some new Sylvania Silverstar Ultra. I hope I’m not wasting my time?
no need to remove the grille if you have long extensions for your sockets. The grille has nothing to do with headlight assembly other than easing access if you don't have long sockets. otherwise good info.
It will all become more clear when you have the assembly out and in hour hands; and you see how you've snapped off every plastic connection point. I know. Time for 2 part epoxy for me.
2 years later still very helpful, thank you.
I liked that you didn't go on bla bla bla about unrelated items. Direct and to the point, nicely done.

Thank you very much! Really appreciate your concise tutorial and explaining the rear clip.

Awesome awesome awesome video. Extremely informative, especially the part about the wheel well with the extra tab. Thank you!

Oh man! I was watching this video thinking, “All this to change a bulb?” Thank you! If you are correct you just saved me a lot of time Nd effort
@@bryanproctor2983 hopefully it's the same for u. I had a 2009 model and it had the flap. But always possible it got changed in later years.
@@michaeljensen9555 thanks.

Thank you for this, what a pain in the ass to do ESPECIALLY in the dark!!

thank you. you saved me some money..great video
Thanks really appreciate it
Good video. Thanks much
Excellent instruction, thank you
Great video🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great video 👍🏽
You don't need to remove grill or plastic cover. Just use a 10mm socket with an extension.
No need to take the grill off..just get a long extension to reach the bolt visible from the top. You will need to pop the light out so to get the other end free from under the lip of the grill.
How hard is it to get the bolts back in though given his deep they are?
Very helpful video however to replace the amber light you dont need to remove the entire headlight. Only if you have to replace actual headlight!
This is the only video I found so far with the exact same headlight as mine, I ordered an aftermarket headlight that seem to be fine for most peoples 2012 Dodge ram, but my headlight looked Exactly like yours with two plugs and lights attached. Do you know what the model is for this headlight?
This is so insane to change a headlight I thought it was a prank at first.

Thanks I did that shit so fast

7:30 would be great to show that clip once it is out.
He did........ 8:40
You don’t have to do any of that just pull the blinker light out from the tire fender
does anyone ever show the drivers side its different or my is messed up?
Got all the way to pulling the little clip behind the light down and the headlight is still stuck in there... just my luck.
Thank uuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!
Clean your Motor up a little...!
Find something else to to do
Bro. Work on you camera skills.
Kinda tough to hold the camera still when you need both hands to work. If you can't get the just of the video, well I feel sorry for you.
