- It's almost that time of year again, as April approaches...the month known for practical jokes and some of the more ridiculous premises concerning the franchise that we all know and...love? On the other hand, rather than disseminating false information that has become stale over time, we prefer to focus on the more lighthearted and silly aspects of joking around with this series. We would like to bring back to the very fundamentals of what Dragon Ball was in the first place. It wasn't ALWAYS to do with ki blasts, space and screaming! Or that rare expression we got from him when he made takoyaki on Bulma‘S birthday.
But yeah if Vegeta can make Takoyaki but can’t crack an egg to make a omelette that kinda funny.
And of corse the episode with Aralle . And how Vegeta not only got team rocket out of the episode but how he reference the 80’s when dragon ball years are described as ages.

@@MasakoX they probably think it's Ironic cause Krillin is seen as weak... but the guy is the strongest human (18 and 17 dint count cause they Androids), so Krillin in his own right is powerful... just not when going up against Saiyans or Galactic threat villains

Unironically, the Dr. Slump crossover is my favourite episode of Super. It was great to see Vegeta “blasting off again.”
It's the great Toriyama Litmus Test. Those who saw Slump and those who hadn't.
The Dr. Slump crossover introduced my favorite concept in fictional power scaling.
"Gag/Joke Character-Immunity"
I honestly think the sheer abundance of omniscient 4th Wall breaking characters that can just get away with anything for the sake of Low-Brow humor to be insufferable, just like the dark brooding edgelords of the 90's. So seeing Beerus just go "....Nah" was hugely cathartic.

I'm also almost certain that the Episode in question is Episode 69 of Super.
Not the first crossover either. OG dragonball had a brief stopover in Dr. Slump land (sorry, I still haven't watched Dr. Slump) for an episode or two that was pretty great. I don't think it was quite as good, but original dragonball was already comedic and the power scaling hadn't quite gone ridiculous yet but it's definitely worth checking out if you haven't.
Friezas one line of "I'll ignore that" in the tournament of power against that weird police superhero, i absolutely cracked up laughing at that, the whole delivery and Frieza just not giving a damn was so damn funny to me. Especially in the Sub.
That's transcended Dragon Ball and become a meme classic.

Will we forget the Baseball epsiode? It's fun to see all these outrageous and powerful characters playing a casual game of baseball. And Yamcha gets a W!!
Oh that's a classic. We'll probably cover that more in a future episode of this but we've talked about it plenty.
Not to mention when he comes into home plate he's laying in a very familiar pose. I cried laughing.
yamcha barely gets a win... unless its the budokai games. even fighterz yamcha for a while was one of the best characters.
budokai he was kinda decent im not saying top tier. but still held up well vs other fighters.
17 went from being my favorite character to being my spirit animal in the Tournament of Power.
He was so good in the tournament.
One of the things that really improves the scene where the magical girl trafromation is interrupted is that it was 17. A pure villain, like frieza, would probably be cocky and let them transform, most of the others would allow them to out of respect. 17 is the perfectly neutral, cold blooded type for this to make sense.

Gag or not, Krillin got that endurance for his skull to not shatter lol.
Then the bit where 18 smiles as she tends to him is super wholesome.

What Eighteen and Krillen have is a legit life goal. Dude's not as focused on martial arts as he was, but dude's kept in shape. His wife genuinely thinks the worldo fhim, and dude has shown repetedly over the years he can and will come in clutch even in the 'goku and vegeta show' era of dragonball. That, to be pretty honest, is very cool.
People need to realise, if there's ONE person of the Dragon Team you want as a friend, it's Krillin. The dude will ALWAYS and I mean *ALWAYS* be there for you when you need a friend, no matter what it is you're facing, from an intergalactic tyrant bent on universal domination to moving, Krillin will always have your back. Vegeta? Unless you impress him with strength, he wouldn't give you the light of day. Goku? He'd be off doing whatever, and you can't count on him at all. Gohan? Dude is so deep into his books that he doesn't even go pick up his daughter, let alone help you.
Piccolo is actually the closest runner-up in terms of what a good friend he'd be, but he'd be the tsundere friend who'd complain while actually enjoying the time you're spending with each other.
Krillin's the best kind of friend to have, end of.
Hence why he's Krillin: Everyone's Friend.

every time i see someone describe krillin like this, it makes me think how perfect it is that on one timeline he becomes the new master of the turtle school. i don't think you could find any better mentor for most people than someone like krillin who sees your potential and would be willing to help you work towards it. even if he makes you have to do something odd like travel deep into the forest or mountains for some harsher training with one of his friends. he's like what roshi would be if roshi wasn't an unrepentant perv.
Krillin may not be the strongest but he is probably objectively the most kind and considerate of all the z-fighters. For all we may bag on him for being weak, no non-z-fighter could ever come close to his strength. He just genuinely is an incredibly cool guy.
Except when it comes to Cybussy …
One of the bits from Super that I love the most is Goku punching Krillin. The two hyping themselves up and yelling each other is hilarious. Then the sequence where Krillin is sent flying through a bunch of different buildings and hills and such is so funny

It's funny to us because Krillin is a goofball who isn't as powerful as the team's big hitters, but I think the way we perceive it is underplayed. 18 thinking Krillin is cool is completely respectable, both showing how much she supports and loves her husband for who he is. That's not even to mention that Krillin can be seen as cool for doing something more with his life and taking up a real occupation other than fighting, something which most of the fighters on the team other than Gohan and Yamcha to an extent don't so much as even think about doing.

The thing that really gets me about the Bingo Dance with Vegeta is him finally getting a taste of what he's always done.
In DBZ, after the saiyan saga, almost every arc happens because of Vegeta's direct meddling with the situation. His goading and backstabing of Freeza, letting Cell absorb 18, Majin Vegeta.
For once Vegata isn't the one escalating the situation, he's the one desperately trying to bring it down.
Which makes it wonderfully ironic, while also showing his growth.

Honestly i think the jokes i find funniest is the more subtle or understated ones! Like the whole concept of carmine having a youtube channel, so many videos having thousands of views while his compilations of piccolo and gohan surveillance footage has like 3 views. Or the sheer concept of frieza and bulma having essentially the same wish in dbs broly. Or just Generally the characters doing completely mundane, regular things
I will always love stuff like that. I _love_ seeing the Dragon Team going about their day to day. There's just something so comfy about it.
I just loved how 17 saw the opportunity and went straight for it
The Beerus smashing his head on the table (bowing to Zeno) was for me the funniest thing on Super ) (also Vegeta tries to cook is extremely funny )

I cant believe that the arabic version ( the name of krillen in the arabic version is houshi which is more japanese then even the japanese version it self)
To put it short, Vegeta is one of the most developed characters in all of anime, and Krillin is one of the most underrated characters in all of anime!
And if you want to win some zeni's, you bet against both
What? The Freeza overreaction makes it in but NOT the "HAVE FUN FREEZA!?" And Freeza getting pounded by Broly (STOP IT!). It's hilarious how Freeza goes: "I am YOUR EMPEROR!" And gets trounced for over a hour by Broly.
These are but a FEW examples but that entire sequence is great.
I do think that the moment where Android 18 calls Krillin cool is wholesome and charming. It shows how much 18 really cares for and respects Krillin despite being so much stronger than him.
I like the moment just before the ToP when Yamcha is like “if they ask me which they will I’ll play hard to get and make them come beg for my help” it’s funny but also a little sad
Pilaf in particular has been the surprising standout comedic character for me. The way he leans into more meta jokes just clicked over something wonderful, from 'Bulma's experiments are legal-adjacent at best', to teaching Mai how to flirt by using Shu as an example, as well as his capitalism-based math guide, and my personal favourite of planning to trick Piccolo away with a fake tax rebate (or something to that effect).
She tells 17 not hit her but yet she tries to strike goku down while he charges the spirit bomb 😂

what is more funny about 17 interrupting a transformation is because the androids are special in this regard, they dont need to power up ever, even thought dragonball also has transformation sequences sometimes
“He’s so cool”, honestly he is. Every major opponent that Krillin encounters he gave his all! Heck! He threw a Destructo Disk at Perfect Cell! Which I still wish it had worked
Filler I'm afraid, should have cut. Still wouldn't work of course, because Cell.
I liked the space poacher episode where Goku teleported the guy to king kai's planet and he got plastered to the ground because oh yeah, it has 10 times Earth's gravity and a typical person would weigh close to a ton there. After years of seeing Vegeta in his gravity room you tend to forget that stuff has weight.
Dancing is a good skill to have if you want to be a fighter. Although, it wouldn't be as important for Vegeta as he can fly, so I am not sure if having good footwork would help him.
I love the seen with 18 admiring Krillin. I thought it was funny, but it was also super sweet and heartwarming. The perfect balance to bring a genuine smile to your face.
For me the "He's so cool" line was funny because Krillin's last line was something like, "I want stake for dinner tonight."
The strongest woman in the world essentially got told to go cook a meal while he goes off to save the world and instead of getting mad she thinks, "Damn, that's pretty hot."
It's hilarious to me because it's exactly the opposite reaction I expected and I think it says great things about how much they respect each other that she didn't get offended.

my favorite funny bit in all of DB is in Super as well. When 17 meets up with his niece before the ToP, in japanese (the dub ruined the interaction) she remarks on how young he looks, and asks his age, and he just (totally deadpan) says "I'm 17".

Seeing Mr. Satan facing the consequences for his lies over the years was funny. I will say however it still makes you wonder, how and why is the civilians of Earth believe in Hercule's lies when they have dealt with Demon King Piccolo and for YEARS and Piccolo has hidden his identity in the public FOR YEARS until Super Hero. Would make a interesting discussion subject
Demon king piccolo was centuries ago when he wiped most of the population. When he came back, it was only for like a few days and then quickly resolved and I believe in the manga the public had no idea who defeated him. And then with current piccolo, I guess people forgot about him once cell came along.
I like to think the Bingo thing from Vegeta was just that he was being groomed to be a member of the Genyu Force.

I always wondered if Android 18 and Krillins relationship was a troll to the fans who always picked on Krillin! "Yeah he gets beat up and beat down from time to time...but he's got the HOTTEST wife in the franchise!"
The biggest actual laugh I got out of Super was the baseball episode when they revealed Yamcha in the Yamcha pose for the win lol
I think the "Bingo" dance also shows us how Vegeta's character has developed. I think even against Beerus Vegeta would have no problem dying to hold onto his pride, but for his family and his adopted planet he'll cast it aside without hesitation.
I’m sorry but everyone in the theater I was in just busted out laughing during Vegeta’s song and dance. My friends and I were laughing our @$$es off. Even my sister couldn’t help but laugh because she was like “this was one of the villains from the early part of the series, WTF is going on right now?” Plus the best part of that was when they added the BINGO DANCE in as an emote in Xenoverse 2.
Huh, I never thought about how funny this show can be. Maybe a group of people could come together and retell the story of Dragon Ball to highlight more of the comedic moments within it, potentially creating their own hi-jinx as well
First time I saw the bingo dance I was crying laughing.
Arale was my favorite character to play as in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. "The Gatchins are pretty strong too. Yipee!"
I was not expecting to laugh as much as I did when I first watched Super. I watched it earlier this year, and there were some genuinely funny moments almost reminiscent of TFS. One of the funniest for me has to be when Vegeta mentions Saiyans being naturally attracted to strong women. Piccolo's reaction sold the joke.
I wish the 17 transformation joke went further. Maybe Catopesra, and other characters we haven't been properly introduced to yet, could step in nodding their heads and agreeing with Toppo.
I always been annoyed by the Krillin hate. He's one of the smartest fighters in the show, and what makes him cool is his ability to stand up against the likes of Freeza and Cell despite his fear
Dude knows he doesn't stand a chance against the likes of Freeza and Cell (and many of the former's henchmen) but he still jumps in to help his friends and try to save people. He's just a damn good person and friend.
But remember to many people who don't engage with content like Masako's, DragonBall Z onward is all about punches, explosions, and screaming with some gags. Might be a reductive viewpoint but it's the only way I can explain how people view Krillen as weak just bc he can't match the saiyan's plot armor style powers.
He's really brave all things considering. He doesn't risk his life when he knows it won't do any good, but he'll take on anybody otherwise, even Freeza.
the vegeta bingo was such a big deal to the point that it was added as a super attack in hyper dragon ball z (a 2d fighting fan game) for a moment you play a sort of dance game filling a rage bar for vegeta till beerus leaves, to vent his feelings vegeta then punches the opponent as hard as he can.
(if you lose the minigame beerus just gets angry and blasts vegeta away)
I think that Vegeta is just expressing his inner Ginyu squad.
I think a lot of the humour, character development and the show being a lot more comfortable with itself can at least be partially credited to the influence of DBZA. Vegeta every now and then would have a line that felt like something TFS would write, and DBS' Bulma feels more like DBZA than DBZ.
Idk why, but a funny dbs moment for me was when Freeza joins the fight between Gohan and Jimeze. Bro just hops in going “YYOOOOOOOHU- hohohoho.” Freeza was just a troll in the ToP, and I loved it. Favorite character during that arc. Hands down
One of the actual funny moments in Super is when Zamasu was having a monologue to Goku and Vegeta, and Goku and Geets are having their own convo.
Black points out to Zamasu that they're not listening to the speech and Zamasu just says thats it's alright with Black responding with a 'Ah, that's so Godlike'.
I laughed more at that than i should've.

To this day, Krillin and Roshi’s greatest feats were in the original dragonball when they fought each other in the world tournament. It’s the fastest they’ve ever moved. But it was for comedy so it doesn’t count lol they were faster than super saiyans
I always imagined magical girl TF as instantaneous and mostly just 'extended' for our sake as the viewers.
The humor in dragonball really does not get enough attention. For all super may have scaled back the stakes and drama super and super hero are just incredibly fun and really have reminded me why I love this franchise to begin with.
18 and krillin relationship is one of the most genuine and healthy. She just sincerely admire him.

Krillin is cool. He got picked on by the fans for so long but he is really loyal, brave and yes cool.

Ah yes, dancing...nothing ever quite matches the majesty and glory that is, 'The Shepard'. Or Twilight Sparkle trying to dance, that was funny too, in either form.
I think Frieza is changing slowly like Vegeta did it's been extremely obvious if you watched Frieza's mannerisms after he got granted some time to fight in the ToP
think dragonball's at it's best with taking a breather with lighthearted moments between the fights as the slice of life episodes were alongside the new characters/universes the parts of super i actually loved when it wasn't burdened with z's flaws.
1.liked mr. satan being a family member to goku alongside showing his humbleness wanting to give the family the money as his moments with buu(and his moments with 18 where the only thing in the original broly movies i liked outside drunk roshi.) where along with dabura/the ending feeling more like classic db than the entire arc itself before then my favorite part of the saga.
2.i remember laughing at that scene but more i thought it was so adorable seeing 18 admire her husband with how sweet the 2 are and a rather understandable reason for not getting involved.
3.i loved 17's blunt nature to u2(tbh love u2 as i liked helles/ribrianne's group along with being the closest to the z fighters vs. sailor moon & pretty cure.:3) actually stopping their transformation with how also more smarter than the z fighters he is when a lot of the villains could've been stopped if they hit them mid transformations(outside cell with that creepy soul shield when he started absorbing.)/also the way the trio run up to him in a "that was not cool man!' way & toppo agreeing with goku with him not realizing that.
4. loved the dr. slump crossover remembering goku meeting arale in classic db(would've loved instead of frieza alongside yamcha arale had joined the t.o.p/love if u6 earth had the remake versions or the z fighters visit penguin village.:3) alongside in a cheekier way having vegeta reference jump super/ultimate stars logic(with power characters being weak to laughter/knowledge to power.) with it even affecting beerus when he tried to be serious.(though is dark he erased mashirito's soul/thought his dub line was going to lead to him being the true villain of jump force like how he was for ultimate stars.)
5.will always love the bingo scene as it made me actually love vegeta alongside him defending bulma beating beerus up that i had respect for him even when he lost as i loved that(also his explosion attack not being extremely pointless in t.o.p) alongside the peaceful world saga.
I find it funny that Goku lectures 17 on the tactics he employed, while Goku himself has done the same on multiple occasions throughout the series. Taking the advantage of striking many opponents who are "wide open" (Jayce, Recoom, and even Zamasu if you count Vegito being the most notable examples). I don't see the difference in striking an enemy while they're monologuing and striking an enemy while they're transforming. Either one is performed knowingly in the middle of a fight so it stands to reason that it's perfectly fine to take the initiative.

I laughed at the 18 scene. Not because its funny because "How could she find Krillin cool?". I laughed because I didn't expect it. I love that 18 sees Krillin as a badass. Because he is. And the hallmark of a healthy relationship is that both parties enjoy the other for who they are. 18 admiring Krillin is adorable and it makes me laugh, because I'm happy. I do wish there was at least one scene in ToP where he called her Lazuli.
April Fools What-If: What if Chi-Chi got a Bruce Almighty scenario of getting the Omni-King's powers? Consider it a practical joke by the Grand Priest offered by Goku to let his wife know how it's like having grand powers at her fingertips and needing to know how to control it.
We still should’ve seen everyone’s fighting techniques in that arc instead of beerus just slapping them away
That part where 18 says " he's so cool" originally was funny I used to lmao until I realized reality isn't as kind to men like krillin. I mean he's not tall, not particularly handsome, not particularly strong and yet he's 10 steps ahead of most men in reality.
Because he's everyone's friend.

It’s too bad for Hercule because he is really strong and would’ve been real competitive in the world tournament back in the dragonball days. Everyone else just became insanely strong so he can only fight regular people.

Krillin marrying 18 was the best thing that happened to both of them. After him dying and being pretty much a punch bag, but always standing back up and never leaving his friends side, I love that dude and he got rewarded with the hottest chick in dragon ball. And she got rewarded with a kick ass cool husband with a heart of gold and a beautiful kid. By far, they are my favorite couple that’s why I love TFS shorts about Krillin and 18.
