That’s true. I guess he could have had it pulled out like Goku did. Technically wouldn’t that make Goku a cheater then since they both required something to get the tail out
@@iplayvideogames4678 They both needed help with their tails but in Vegeta's case he's an adult so his tail doesn't grow back. They forced a lot of blutz waves into him to force it out.
@@iplayvideogames4678 it's not really cheating I mean what were they gonna do train their tails out? You can't just make everything happen by training if every form was acchieved through training then the concepts to each form being acchieved would be bland and soulless
@@iplayvideogames4678 yes because you literally can't do it on your own without a tail it's literally impossible without access to the ape form A Sayain is automatically born with the ape form without training so it isn't earned anyways And since Goku and Vegeta love to "do things on their own" with the wide array of gravity rooms , and time chambers that they totally did things all on their own with and not with the help of popo or Bulma *Keep in mind I'm not being a smartass towards you I'm being a smart ass towards the people who complain Vegeta cheated when he's kinda done that from the get go of early z*
I also love GT Vegeta’s outfit, it’s the physical embodiment of his growth as a character. The more he changes, the less sayian armor he wears, to the point of where he becomes fully developed and it’s just wearing ordinary human clothes. I love looking at that detail and I feel it isn’t mentioned enough.
No wonder that the makers of GT also nailed father Gohan and GT Trunks's ones. Goku and Goten as well. They also nailed and brought what Pan should've been and looked like.
Vegeta looked amazing in GT, just make sure you skip episode 2 before he shaved his mustache and hair from that hideous looking broom hairstyle to a more traditional Vegeta style. He went from looking like a 70 year old in episode 2 to right back to his 40s when he shaved.
you know i kinda saw something that i didn't realize before..... the saiyan armor probably represents the chip on vegeta shoulder and the barrier he has around his heart......in buu saga and in gt he sheds the armor meaning he's opened up even though he still guarded in buu saga but by the end he shed that
Good symbolism, especially as the armor gets smaller over time (full body in Saiyan saga, upper body in Frieza saga then just chest, then smaller chest armor in Cell until nothing in Buu) Might say something about him wearing it again in Super
I like that Vegeta managed to surpass Goku for a while in GT as well as catch up to him quicker was because Vegeta let go of his obsession. He simply wanted to see where his own limits were. And it not only allowed him to grow as a person but also in strength.
If GT was re-written they could've showcased this even further. Personally I don't want Super post "End of Z" to just follow along the GT storybeats. It must be its own thing. What I would've liked is if GT got re-written and reanimated. Lots of the storybeats would be far better with a little tweaks and Demon Slayer showed us how much good animation can elevate a show. I mean when you break down GT it's legit: Traveling the galaxy Facing a parasite Hell opening up Facing the consequences of your actions 4 simple arcs in which so so much could be done. The space travel can be made into a more grandiose adventure, very lighthearted and fun. And it would contrast greatly with the Baby arc being spin as more of a horror. I'd also have Vegeta be the last one standing alongside Uub. We could've had Baby attempt ro control Goku once, but be too weak and the second attempt Goku's defenses are too weak plus Baby knows Goku a bit now. He could see Goku's memories. See how jealous Vegeta has been and uses that. Showing his hatred for King Vegeta and saiyans. Focusing it on the one who keeps the legacy going. Plus we'd get too see Vegeta fight alongside the student of Goku. Would be cool. Now for the Hell arc I have a ton of ideas 😂
Vegeta never surpassed goku in GT. You can't count baby vegeta because that's no only vegeta and when you factor in the fact that goku struggled to fight baby mostly because of being in kid form. In the baby arc vegeta is not stronger than goku in the super 17 arc. The only time they are even comparable in GT is when they where fight omega. And it's still debated if vegeta can transform into ssj4 naturally.
Yeah but in super Vegeta has had a lot of character development and his ego form is somewhat ahead of MUI. So super he has done both.. he’s gotten character development and strength. So personally, I’m not really sure what this video headline is talking about. Not only did Vegeta reach God status before Goku did on his own in the beginning of super but in granola arc he for the moment uses a form somewhat above mui.
I feel like the biggest issue with Dragon Ball Super Vegeta is that he's more of the same of what the writers feel we expect from Vegeta. Except more of the same is not where a Vegeta who says "Hang in there, Kakarot. You're #1." should be anymore. And sure, he has moments every now and then, such as him encouraging Cabba to be a superior warrior to him or being kinder to Trunks or even worried about the Namekians on New Namek, but it still feels like he is stuck in a rut as a character desperately trying to relive his greatest hits.
The attitude of Vegeta in GT was something I liked too. I liked that he was more relaxed and that he was actually friends with Goku. Not that they aren't friends in Super but he's constantly complaining about Goku surpassing him like in the Buu saga. In GT it felt like he grew up.
@@Jpx0999 In the Buu Arc Vegeta didn't accept Goku being stronger so many take that speech out of context. He called him the best because of his humanity and always willing to see the best in people and willing to give them a chance. It was an internal struggle going inside of him that conflicted with his Saiyan roots. Vegeta isn't the type of man to accept mediocrity so his continual drive to be the best falls perfectly in line within his character. At that moment he accepted he was an Earthling and accepting the Earth as his home. For years he was a vagabond with a torn identity.
True the only reoccurring times Vegeta has a problem with being compared to Goku in GT is that the fate of the planet is always expected to lie on Goku when Vegeta is just as capable a fighter. Not the petty stuff we see being brought back in Super.
GT Vegeta reminds me of post Vegito Vegeta, He's actually like way more laid back in that part then people give him credit for and GT Vegeta feels like he grew from that Super Vegeta, while I do enjoy him kinda feels like a Vegeta who never mellowed at a points
Funny how all of these people haven't seen or read any of super except RUclips shorts. Super Vegeta was cooking and singing in Moro arc and Granolah arc 🤣 yeah right
I always said this. Vegeta transformed into Golden Oozaru and SSJ4 on his own. The blutz waves was never to guarantee him to transform. It was just to act as a tail and artificial moonlight so he could once again go Great Oozaru since he didn’t have a tail like he did in the past.
Exactly, what I was saying too, Vegeta transformed into Golden Oozaru and SSj4 on his own because he did, the blutz waves was only mention for Vegeta to regrow his tail and he uses it as a moonlight so he can do Great Ape again.
The fact that the prince of all saiyans needed a fucking machine to grow his tail so he could transform is absolutely shameful! And then when he powers down from ssj4 his tail magically fucking disappears smh. I’m pretty sure that Vegeta knows some kind of method to regrow his tail on his own. Y’all really think that royal family didn’t take into account that they could somehow lose their tails in battle and didn’t have a contingency plan?
Vegeta using the Blutz Wave Generator is a beautiful thing. One he didn’t have time to let Old Kai pull his tail out. Two the machine was created by his wife, Bulma. One of the most important characters in Dragon Ball. Vegeta using the machine is him accepting help from others, something he struggled with. Him accepting help is him maturing and being a better person. He accepts help from his wife nonetheless. It brings him closer to being like Goku. GT Vegeta is the best Vegeta as he now trusts everyone and isn’t selfish. When he reached SSJ4 he doesn’t charge Omega, he suggests fusion. Super Vegeta would have charged Omega and died losing their best shot at beating Omega, of saving the Earth. And honestly GT Vegeta is so bad ass. Charging Omega in Super Saiyan 2 and laughing at him before he passes out as he knows Goku has got this.
@justageographydude Well, not necessarily. In order to get a tail he needed the machine. At that point he could’ve used the moon or his Blutz wave technique he only used once to transform into the Oozaru. He retains control of the Oozaru and Golden Oozaru form, which transforms him into Super Saiyan 4. Now what makes training truly pointless is Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. In which Shenron gave Piccolo a transformation like an extra chicken nugget at a McDonald’s. What’s stopping the cast from using Shenron to give everyone transformations and power ups? Absolutely nothing.
@@theomnigamer9177 That was piccolo's unlocked potential. If your complaining about piccolos power up. Take a good look at gohan, goku, krillin and dende. Those characters got their potential unlocked. These characters cant do so. Also name one other dbs transformation that took no training at all. Dont even think about ssbe or ui. Vegeta trained alot with ssjb. Goku trained with whis to get ui. Also his use of ssjbkk helped him sustain ui.
@@JustAGuy1712I mean, the only way for him to get to ssj4 was with that machine, so for this form you can’t just “train” your way to getting it. He basically said to himself and the others that I can’t reach this level on my own and need your guys help doing it. Also the dbs super hero thing still feels really bad since they used the wish granting orbs to become stronger. Guru on namek just giving krillin and Gohan more power by “unlocking their potential”. At least gt Vegeta’s situation has character growth that comes with it.
@@BIGD-cc7ru character development ? Really? Compare Mid Z vegeta to gt vegeta. Hes far too different . Hes a new character. He has no saiyan pride. No personality anymore. Juat because a character ia different doesnt mean its a good thing. I am completely aware that at the end of z vegeta said goku was number one. But that doesnt mean vegeta is just gonna stop training completely. ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING BUU KILLED HIS WHOLE FAMILY. Also using dragon balls for power is just a smart way. Why would you NOT do ir? Youve got the dragon balls. The dragon balls can do it. So why not? Also what about king piccolo who uaed the dragon balls for power?
I honestly agree. Super Vegeta just resets his character while GT feels like a total progression from EVERYTHING he has learned and been through up to that point.
@leultrainstinct406 Ya no. Vegeta's growth as a fighter is entirely predicated on Goku's regression as a fighter, as well as a character. Vegeta often has to talk down to him because of it, so no, his respect for Goku doesn't follow what was set up in Z because it works on unstable ground that contradicts the information that should have been setting it up for the future. Vegeta doesn't just give Goku RESPECT. He is straight up admitting he IS THE BEST THERE IS, which is MONUMENTAL for Vegeta to say. Difference being is Vegeta in GT seeks strength to protect those he cares about, NOT solely to surpass his rival. It shows his growth in a FAR more mature and seasoned light than Super ever has
Yeah great character. Litterally, all he does aside from fuse with Goku is give Goku energy and get beat up. He doesn't even get any licks in during 90% of his fights. GT Vegeta is garbage just like basically every Z fighter in GT aside from maybe Uub
@lancekemal8989 Yeah character is always made up of how physically capable he is in a fight. I'm talking about WHO HE IS rather than how hard he can throw a punch moron. And in GT, like it or not, he shows much more maturity and growth as a PERSON than his Super counterpart.
I've seen people say "he cheated because he used a machine" and they think it's "out of character". These same people have completely forgotten that Vegeta has ALWAYS used technology to his advantage. Literally ever since he was on screen. Where do you think he got his armor? How do you think he got around to other planets? How do you think he knew if he could take on his opponents in the early days? How do you think he trained all the way up until the end of Z? That's right, technology. Saiyan pods, scouters, gravity rooms, etc. The Blutz wave machine is no different. All it did was hit him with a certain type of light waves to regrow his tail. He still transformed HIMSELF.
Agreed. But yet people give Majin Vegeta a free pass because it was in Z. Never mind that he ALLOWED himself to get possessed just so he can finally settle his petty score with Goku.
@@rubberballoonlover5471 Majin Bitch Vegeta doesn't get a pass at all because just like the Blutz Wave machine it's a cheap shortcut. Only nostalgia blinded people give it a pass. The Zenkai Boost exploits on Namek get a pass because it's part of saiyan biology and his people exploited it for years just look at Bardock as the prime example.
1:20 When people look at Vegeta as a role model, they often talk about his willingness to persevere and to keep training. But that perseverance comes at a cost. A cost that those *Around* him pay as well as himself. Vegeta often gets punished for his mistakes, but he's often dragging down others with him. The Frieza Saga, The Cell Saga, The Buu Saga. In various points throughout these storylines, Vegeta routinely plunged his "Allies" into chaotic situations that could have been solved easily had he not been too prideful or arrogant, or egotistical. GT Vegeta is the first story where it actually shows Vegeta being a role model worth admiring. Because in all the other arcs before he was still causing needless suffering just to satiate his own sense of self. He doesn't have to do that anymore and sacrifices himself purely for sacrifices' sake rather than atonement. It's why I find Base Form Vegeta confronting Omega genuinely more powerful than Vegeta's atonement blast against Majin Buu. Unlike Majin, Vegeta is truly, woefully outclassed. Him in Ssj4 with another Ssj4 ally as backup was already not enough to contend with Omega's power but in Base? With no backup? He's doomed. Truly. There's no way he can win. But it's not about winning. It's about doing the right thing for the people you give a fuck about. And I think it comes through much more effectively in his last stand against Omega because we literally see the planet breaking apart in the final battle of GT. It felt like we've went somewhere from the start of the bout and I know he's definitely come a long way to be in this position, where he commands everybody in battle just before flying off.
There's a weird sentiment in Z that Vegeta actually viewed the Z fighters as his "allies". Sure he fought with them when necessary, but that was it, when it was necessary. For 90% of Z he was still an anti-hero at best leaning heavily towards the villainous side. He only used the resources of the Z fighters as a means to an end at first. Like Bulma's gravity chamber. His villainous arc didn't truly end until Majin Vegeta. Yet some fans believe it ended in the Cell saga, which isn't true. Sure he flipped out over future Trunks, but that showed he COULD have good moments, not that he was a good person overall. He was drunk on power in the android/cell saga, and he had zero reason to care about the Z fighters at all in the Namek saga. He was driven to work with them because of desperate times, not because he considered them to be actual allies. People resonate with Vegeta because he's a guy who's entire world was flipped upside down, yet no matter how many times his face is literally smashed into the pavement and his pride is grinded into dust, he keeps getting back up and won't lose his sense of pride, like you said. His character aside from that shouldn't be admired at all. I agree why he's admired, but disagree on your point about how he treats his allies since in Vegeta's mind, he has no allies. Of course even if he did, well, we all saw what happened to Nappa. Guess that's what happens when one of your parental figures is *Frieza*.
@@FantomPhoenix That's why I put the quotations around the word allies, because actual allies don't betray each other at literally every turn possible to do so. I do think the series plays with the idea that he is on their side to a degree, but it's just cap. My favourite moment in the show is when Majin Vegeta shows back up in the tournament and Bulma's like: "Why is he acting like this😰 I can't believe it!" And every time I'm just :)
One of my favorite aspects of GT Vegeta, was seeing him interact with his family. Coming off of the Buu saga, we saw Vegeta wrestle with the fact that his life had gone in a direction he had never forseen. "I awoke one day to find that I had settled down, formed a family. I had even grown quite fond of them." Seeing Vegeta interact with and be a legitimate part of his family (especially with his daughter) really showed his character growth more than almost anything else.
@@leultrainstinct406 but as soon as he realized that Whis can train him he left his family without even telling them, only for the chance to be "stronger than Kakarot" again. It's like he instantly forgot that at the end of DBZ he realized that in order to become a better warrior and a better person he should stop this childish competition against Goku.
also that scene with vegeta shaving his mustache. everyone in that part felt like legimate friends and family. one of the best slice of life moments in db.
Hell, GT aside, especially if you see the glaring Last of Z and especially the Vegeta in Fusion Reborn Movie situations. Man, in a way Super Goku-Vegeta doesn't progress or surpasses the Meta Cooler odyssey and struggle of theirs Movie

GT Vegeta is a person who grew, theirs a evident thoughtline in Vegeta's characterisation thoughtout. Hes his own man. Where's as Super's Vegeta is a man repeating his only arc of catching upto Goku. Only to want to follow his own path new the end of the ToP.....just to keep doing it.
Also seems like that man who tries very hard to look cool and uses all his coolness he had in the past and basically making sure people are sick of it basically why I don't watch dragon ball as much as I used to cause super litterly kicks the already long past dead ressurected and died long time ago again and now just a skeleton horse
Gohan is stated to have not only become a scholar but kept up with his training. Hence why he was only base level. Goten was too busy out there chasing skirts
I've said it numerous times to my friends that DBS Vegeta isn't the Vegeta I grew up with, GT Vegeta just fits perfectly with what he said during the Kid Buu fight.
It is, but just because DBS Drones cannot accept the fact that their show isn't as good as they think and GT as bad as they thought. It causes them to short-circuit.
Super vegeta literally destroyed Z Vegeta’s character arcs just to do them again but make it feel so uneventful and not impactful that it just ruins his previous development arcs.
More than that it should have been this. Zamasu = Gods Moro = Magic Goku Black = Demons Granolah = Immigrants/Assassins who survived from Saiyan Attacks from the past.
@kaczok1985 SSJ3 is a multiplier, so it doesn't reduce his PL, it just makes him unable to multiply it. And even then, when he gets his tail it stops the drain from being as straining.
@@purple-eyessilverdrago6895 If he cannot access his most powerful transformation he is de facto weaker than in the fight against Kid Buu (since he can't multiply his power level to the same extent). Until he discovers SSJ4 of course.
@@purple-eyessilverdrago6895 Not when facing stronger opponents. Yes, his base Power Level stayed the same but the Namek Saga was the last time base Power Levels mattered. If he can't maintain his most powerful transformation he cannot fight as effectively as in the Buu Saga. Hence, he is de facto weaker until he unlocks SSJ4.
I don’t think super is completely void of any character growth for Vegeta. His speech to gods in the ToP was a great moment for him. Him wanting to stay for the birth of his daughter is another moment.
I agree GT Vegeta being best version of Vegeta character-wise, but sadly he was kinda not used as much in GT which is huge shame because i enjoy GT. Maybe if the series was bit longer we could've seen more Vegeta :) Great video, man BTW! 👍👏🙏💪
I don't see any problem with vegeta getting ssj4 with the help of bulma it just shows that vegeta has grown much as a character he is just now put trust in his family thats was all the point of majin vegeta at the end and also the ending song of dbgt japanese one "don't u see" completely conveys it now vegeta is just ready to accept help from others ssj4 as is obtained by love as u have seen that goku was able obtained it because of his love of family and friendsnso its totally fine Vegeta did its the transformation obtained by not anger not sorrow but Vegeta's love for bulma
Ngl… this kid sounds like he’s 13 writing his first Dragon Ball essay. All I hear is bias. I’m a Vegeta Stan but the power scaling in GT is dumb. Baby Vegeta is enhanced. Vegeta was no where near Goku GT even in his SSJ3 form. Baby trumped him, Super 17 trumped him
The part i absolutely enjoyed was when Vegeta first transformed to SSJ4, but prior to that being in the Golden Oozaru form he had a weakened SSJ4 Goku in his grasp until Goku yelled out to him and Vegeta uttered his Saiyan name back. It was a full circle moment if i ever saw it. From the beginning of Z where a ruthless and evil Oozaru Vegeta was in complete control and trying to crush and kill Goku to the end of GT, the franchise (at the time) where Vegeta at his absolute strongest was in the same predicament with Goku but chose his humanity over his bestial form. They werent rivals at that point, more like best friends, hell, brothers if you wanna call it that. Its a shame Toriyama just uses Vegeta as a stepping stone for Goku when his character just gets screwed out of the victory himself. Makes me wonder sometimes what he tries to write about these days. Characters or things that just blow up.
Vegeta in the manga after the tournament of power is the best version of Vegeta we’ve seen in terms of character development and general awesomeness imo Him going to Yardrat to learn from beings far weaker than him shows a humility that he’s never shown in the series before, also how he released all the energy he took from Moro back into the universe.
I’d definitely agree! I still really really like Vegeta in Super. I feel like he’s just still growing during Super and in GT he’s fully developed as a character and he’s the best version of himself. I do wish we had more of him in GT though. That’d be my biggest complaint.
Vegeta's transformation to SSJ4 is one of the best transformations I've ever seen for 2 reasons. 1. It concludes his development as a mature and responsible man, being able to depend on Bulma's capabilities to help him begin the transformation process. It felt like the most natural and best conclusion to the development of one of the best villains/rivals in fiction. 2. By splitting the transformation into two parts - going from Saiyan to Ape, and Ape to SSJ4 - it allows Vegeta to show that he can control that level of power. Not only does it show Vegeta's power and control, but it also goes full circle bringing back the ape transformation we saw back in Dragon Ball and early DBZ. All in all, everything in GT felt like it was trying to finally reach a conclusion not just for the storyline, but for the characters and the world of DB as well.
I'm not sure I fully agree here. I kinda feel like Super Vegeta is the lead up to GT Vegeta in some ways. We see Vegeta in Super willing to debase himself, we see him becoming more dedicated to his family like refusing to help Goku while Bulma is pregnant with Bulla. He still needs to let go of his obsession with Goku, but Vegeta through Super gets more comfortable being his own self.
I don't disagree that GT is a good end point for the character. I've been a GT stan since it first aired here. It's a flawed series but has a lot of good stuff in it that gets overlooked. However I feel you're overlooking two things. 1. Super's placement in the timeline 2. All the non fighty stuff in Super. If GT was canon, it's still like 10 years from where we are in Super so it makes sense to me Super Vegeta isn't yet to GT development, but if you look at the non fighty stuff in Super you see where he's heading down that path.
@@leultrainstinct406 I'm not arguing better. I'm saying that those elements are very present in Super Vegata. Very first episode he's in, he's fulfilling his Promise to Trunks from Z. Later He's willing to humiliate himself to try and keep Beerus in a good mood to protect his family and only fights when Bulma is threatened. While he's very 'tough love' on Future Trunks everything he does is to help him. He even completely refuses to help Goku in the tournaments because he refuses to miss the birth of his second child after not being there for Trunks' birth. There are plenty of moments in Super that start showing Vegeta transitioning from his Z persona to his GT persona. The fact he's not completely there yet, can be explained as this still being years before GT.
I agree with this take, but I feel like he's no longer obsessed with Goku. In the Moro Arc and the Granolah Arc Goku is more like background noise in Vegeta's life, not his obsession. Vegeta's response to beating Goku in the Super Hero Arc was more like finally scratching an old itch that you had learned to tune out but was still there. Nowhere near what it would have been if he had done it back in DBZ.
I mean super takes place before the time period of GT so of course he isn’t going to act like GT Vegeta because those events happen after Super timeline wise, even if Super isn’t canon to GT’s timeline
For people who are saying that Vegeta using the blutz wave to obtain ssj4 goes against his character, keep in mind that Vegeta literally sold his soul to Babidi just so he could rival Goku from the power boost in Z.
In GT, I saw Vegeta as man who took his roll as a father, husband, and a protector. Super, its still too early on, but he's slowly becoming what he is in GT. And if Vegeta had his tail, he wouldn't need to use the medicine. Even if he used that energy ball, he still wouldn't be able to transform without his tail. Unlike Goku, whose tail was growing back because he was a kid again. (My guess, their tails doesnt grow back after a certain amount of times its been removed. Goku's and Gohan's tails grew back one more time before it was permanently removed.)
Great video, it shows how much Vegeta mentally matured in GT. You did miss what an overly protective daddy Vegeta is in GT lol. From what I remember the reason they use the machine is because Vegeta didn't have a tail. He did not went through the same process as Goku where they pulled out his tail with a magical tool. I do not think the machine is just to emulate the moon rays, since Goku does not need it because he has a tail. Another great thing about GT is how the transformation of SSJ 4 is the best in my opinion, since is not only a new body that can stand the temperature of the sun, it increases IQ, aggressiveness and Goku becomes a Giant. He is like 7-8 feet tall transformed.
I like that in Super even if it’s not technically canon, evolved showed that Vegeta was starting to find his own path. And that following Goku is what was holding him back.
good points made throughout the video, but i do like vegeta take some spotlight away from goku in super and that kinda lacked in GT. also when you preform the fusion dance both people have to be of the same power level so vegeta was already on par with goku (it is possibly goku just lowered his tho)
Vegeta did get some time to shine but super did him dirty every time He nearly gets his deserved kill on Frieza and is taken away for no narrative purpose other than why the hell not He gets to beat on frost and train cabba so that's nice But then hit makes him look like a unexpirienced chump who can't even do anything other than rush at hit In the Goku black arc he is literally the first to get bodied and gets a few good moments but still gets beat up And in the T.o.P he actually dosent get disrespected that much except against jiren and in the anime him giving Goku his energy was a good Character moment of him dropping his shoulder chip but that got reversed immediately as in the manga he's right back too it Gets spirit fission only for Moro to beat his ass and Goku comes to steal the win He did pretty good in the granolah arc though Until black frieza Oneshot him that was just sad to watch
@@gabrielchastain6091You made a lot of good points and yes Super Saiyan Blue aka Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan had Frieza nearly killed and Vegeta was going to kill him, but he let his guard down and Frieza took advantage of that he threatened to take Vegeta and planet Earth with him and he did and Whis had to rewind time to before Frieza was about to destroy Earth, and Goku recognized it the second time and finished Frieza with the Kamehameha.

one thing i think super vegeta lacks is that i miss his costume from the buu saga. the armor in Z sort of fit with the alignment of its character and it sort of fit with the storytelling. in the saiyan saga, his armor starts off with these wide shoulder pads you see in the frieza force, with the parts by the hips making it look like samurai armor. and the yellow striped padding is a running thing with dragon ball villains where they have yellow and stripes to indicate they are villains (piccolo started it and dr gero's outfit also has them) when he changes the outfit on namek, its around the point after his humility has been challenged by goku's immense growth displayed against the ginyu force, and he ends up accepting training. he swaps out the samurai armor for a more simplified armor design, with elements. and we get the design super vegeta is currently using. its still a protective piece of armor, but he's not always wearing that smirk he had back in the saiyan saga. his next design change is in the buu saga after the timeskip, where hes wearing just the undershirt from the armor. being a family man, he's become much less of an asshole and is more willing to be vulnerable to protect those that he cares about. and the lack of armor makes him dressed similar to goku. in GT, he wears several different outfits, i guess they wanted everybody to be bulma. but he's dedicated to the tank top undershirt, and they arent throwing away his character development. in super, they went back to the cell saga/namek redesign, but its gray now because bulma worked on it. i dont find that nearly as interesting as the tank-top, and i prefer how GT expressed his connection to bulma by having her help vegeta obtain SS4. if anything its just symbolizing how super regressed his character back to what is iconic instead of taking vegeta in a new direction.
Buu saga had my favorite design for Vegeta bar none, I really hate that they went back to the body armor since it doesn't look as striking and Super's art style makes it look a lot less cooler than it did back in Z.
Amazes me how unintelligent ppl are about the Dragonball timeline actually works Dragonball super comes before GT, so the fact of what you see in super is absolutely fine it fits within the lore. Super is before the progression of character development that ppl love in GT. It's perfectly fine in my book.
Vegeta wears several different outfits in Super, including his Buu Saga fit. He wears his Buu Saga clothing while sparring with Goku in the Broly Saga, again when he fights Gas in the Granolah Saga, and again recently in the Super Hero Saga.
What sorta bothered me in Super was, even though Vegeta isnt the same angry person he was before, sometimes he still looked like he was still bothered by Goku and his strength, when in the last fight against Buu, Vegeta finally admitted to himself that Goku was number one. And yeah, GT Vegeta does show that with him no longer cgaing Goku, but in Super he still is.
Vegeta was messing with Goku SS4 & Omega, when he was in his great ape forum. Remember Vegeta shoots a blast at Omega Which omega had no real need to dodge but did anyways. Next Vegeta grabs Goku & squeezes him, then he tells Goku while in Ape form, that he could never have his reason overpowered by the "primal mind." As for Vegta Cheating to super saiyan 4 How is it a short cut, when he has to get from "Normal Great Ape form" to "Gold Great ape from" while not having the ability to go super Saiyan 3 while doing so? Meanwhile, Goku already had the ability to go super Saiyan 3 & only needed to Golden Great ape form? I.M.O he had to take a longer route if anything to achieve super Saiyan 4 compared to Goku. Hence what he says after he does it "AT LONG LAST I"VE ASCENDED"
I cant watch Super because of it repeating the same story beat for beat, at least GT grew the character's personality and not just splash them with a new pastel colour.
It's been established that children Saiyans can regrow their tail, if Goku wasnt a kid he'd need to use a Blutz Wave generator as well. It's not Vegetas fault that he wasn't a kid
Vegeta needed the machine because he did not have his tail back and could not absorb the Waves normally and thus needed the machine to shoot a concentrate beam direct at him to absorb them and transform into Great Ape. He's still can absorb them but not fast enough rate to transform without the tail.
I know it isnt intentional, but I think if you look at Vegeta's arc in Super so far (especially in the Moro/Granohla arcs) it almost lesds perfectly into Vegeta being this way in GT. Although Super did backtrack from the Buu arc a tiny bit in terms of development, I think where Vegeta is so far in the story, is only a few more steps away from becoming who he is in GT. He really has learned to go down his own path instead of always trying to copy Goku's, and he's trying to redeem his past (trying to save the Namekians in the Moro arc), he's become much more family oriented (this is shown as early as the first few episodes of Super), not to mention he wasn't actually reluctant to fusing in the Broly movie (the part that bothered him was the dance itself looking silly). I hope once they pass the end of Z, they finally start to incorporate this sort of personality for Vegeta that he had in GT, it would just make sense.
Big disagree... Vegeta is practically carrying DBS DBS Vegeta has most character development, has accepted that he loves the Earthlings and is living a new life, still keeping up with Goku - even tho he knows that Goku is a fighting genius, carries on with his saiyan pride, is training new saiyans, he is becoming more like a king, links up thematically with path of destruction vs path of angels, has epic speech in tournament of power
In the end of the buu saga he even admits that goku is superior to him fighting wise so it naturally flows into gt him finally growing but also changing his philosophy of being prideful of using hate and anger to become stronger and not giving his opponents the chance to get stronger just for the thrill of the fight.
I agree, one of the things gt managed to do right was showing how goku and vegeta matured and had actual growth as characters, this very much is the best iteration of vegeta as a whole in dragon ball
The thing about SS4 is that Vegeta did earn it. He just didnt struggle with it like Goku did, because he at least mastered the OOzaru form. Rusty with it, he started to act primate but seconds later he just had to hear Goku's voice, recognize it and he immediately transformed into a Golden Oozaru, then SS4. He earned it faster because he already mastered the form Goku didnt. People who call it cheating just dont get what happened and not listening to or reading the dialogue at all.
Yup, you really love GT. But in all fairness, you are correct on GT Vegeta having more character growth than DBS Vegeta. GT Vegeta is basically if Vegeta had a high self-esteem plus a high esteem for those he cares about, unlike the usual where he would act like he is better and all others are trash save for secretly having a heart of gold that is usually shown in a comical or really emotional manner. GT Vegeta showcases his love for Earth and his family and his emotional openness to others(caring about something as relatable as other people's opinion on his moustache and being wary about his daughter starting a love life) plus being a much more emotionally mature and light-hearted individual than most of his iterations who isn't afraid of being a family man who cracks jokes from time to time.
GT is better than Super fullstop. I love how people who hate GT say Vegeta having a moustache and a flattop is a deal breaker yet have no problem with him having a baby's pacifier and wearing skirts and aprons is totally fine... No wonder we can't have nice things. These people are stupid.
I like both, imo you can still see the progress of Vegeta post-buu saga, he still has a lot of pride but now he'll mostly try his best not to do anything that would endanger the planet regardless of his pride, he's more mature cool-headed and overall more heroic, they tried to basically implement the character development arc he had in Z although I still feel as if it's lacking in some parts
3:40 That's because Gohan is many many leagues stronger than Goten and Trunks. He's surpassed them even in base form while they are SSJ. Don't forget he didn't lose all of his mystic form in GT. He even fought well against Rilldo and appeared unscathed whilst Goten was even with the Teen form of Baby.
Vegeta in GT felt like the same core but an entirety different apple. He was still him but made 180 changes on his view points with such good reason while still staying vegeta to his core. Its the best vegeta has ever been. GT vegeta just feels like an extension of what Majin Vegeta proclaimed before he blew himself up and what Buu saga vegeta said while watching goku fight. It just feels like more pages after a complete chapter while Dragon Ball Super vegeta feels like he walked back on EVERYTHING he said and did in the Buu saga. What was the whole point of buu saga vegetas growth if he just took it all back?
And yet people misunderstand a simple concept need machine for big monkey but to transform he needs to control himself and yet people don't get that it's so annoying it's like the horrible KAKAROT meme
Fun fact, actually xeno vegeta and xeno goku are the best counterparts! They are the ones that encoutered in the movies and survived the whole GT ark, even goku Meaning goku didnt die in the final confrontation, the best alternate universe Plus we goku serious goku as well!
GT Vegeta: absent for most of the series, gets possed by Baby, is jobber to the main villains doesn’t even get to keep super saiyan 4. Super Vegeta relevant in every arc, learns to follow his own path, actually keeps his transformations.
People always forget that the GT characters are older than the super characters. That means the super characters at some point in time have the potential to get some key development. GT is years in the future. When Super passes the end of Z then you can start comparing characters
That's a general statement that doesn't apply here. Vegita already went through what caused his development for GT, yet in Super he, Goku, etc. take several steps down as characters, becoming flanderised versions of themselves.
No? That is not how it works anymore. There is no coherent progression due to reverted character development. Hell, Super doesn't even tie to Z ending well. Vegeta went from hating Goku, to accepting his strength and back to trying to catch up???? How does that even tie back into GT's natural progression?
As a character, yes, I agree. GT Vegeta is the culmination of his character development. He started out as an unhinged, violent psychopath and by GT, he’s settled into earth as his home, he’s a clear family man who loves his wife and kids, and he’s clearly lay back and at worst, just grumpy.
Even though I am a bigger Goku fan. I can say I appreciate your take on Vegeta & helping me to see GT Vegeta in a new light & perspective. It is nice to see someone having something positive to say about GT for a change. I learned something new & can see your point. You have helped me to be able to appreciate GT as well, even more than I already did.
The same people who say Vegeta illegitimately attained Super Saiyan 4 are the same people who overlook Goku having his tail pulled out of his ass with pliers. Also, Moustauche Vegeta best Vegeta.
Dragon ball gt did a far better writing story then dragon ball super Any ways the only thing super did is repeat stuff that already happened in dragon ball z but at least the tournament of power arc was worth something
I never had a problem with gt vegeta, honestly like how he is the combination for how much he changed over years being out together. He’s mature and actually shows he cares for the earth and family. And not being too prideful about it. At the same time doesn’t just accept being weaker then Goku but not in his usual arrogant way. It’s just how they did him sometimes in gt that could be the problem. Other then that I still hope Vegeta gets like this again eventually.
What GT did amazingly right is that it continues the story that DBZ left at the end of the Buu saga, there Vegeta declare Goku as the strongest and let his pride behind admitting than Goku truly surpass him, also he was the one that came up with the plan of let Earthlings save themselves by using the genkidama and revives all in planet earth, GT took that and naturally continue the story showing the evolution of THAT VERSION OF VEGETA.......Super instead regress Vegeta back to be that prideful warrior that think he is better than Goku and above everyone else, the only thing they did right was Vegeta accepting Earth as his new home and Bulma and his family as his pride and love, but even on that GT portrait Vegeta more of a family man and a great dad for both Trunks and Bulla and a protector of Earth that have fully embrace this place as his home, Super not ruined Vegeta as still they give him plenty of good developed, but making fixated on getting better than Goku is a crime from where we saw how Vegeta grow at the end of Z and how well GT portrayed this grown and evolve it, is very sad that somehow the writers (Toriyama RIP sensei, Yokotaro, Toei who ever have a hand on Super) absolutely discarded this factor at the end of DBZ, glad GT writers didn't and took the ball and roll with it as they should.
Exactly. Moving forward with the character into a new chapter is much more powerful than making them a caricature of what people "remember" the most. Regressing a character like that makes them more of a reference than an actual continuation. Some people are saying that GT taking place later in the timeline than Super means that Vegeta is just in an earlier stage of his life, but that is contradicted by the arc he went through in the Buu Saga. That "stage of life" concept people mention doesn't make sense when the idea for it already happened before Super did.
Both incarnations are good. Super Vegeta does not just repeat himself from early DBZ and he didn't put rivalry with Goku over the Earth or his family. Remember how many times he humiliated himself to please Beerus or to train under Whis. He is also a team player and a good father.
@@biohazardbin Let's debate then. At the very beginning we VEgeta having quality time with his family, later he humiliated himself for Beerus entertainment, tried peaceful solutions for Buu misbehaving. Indeed, he's more selfish than GT, but it wouldn't be Vegeta without his ego. Team playing is debatable, but look, Goku is the same and VEgeta is as good team player as a Saiyan could be. I think you see Super's version in a different light due to the story overall which focused more on tournaments than epic, world saving battles or threats.
GT kid goku was never stated to be weaker than adult goku, he just can´t tap into his 100 % power when going SSJ3, so he´s only weaker than adult goku in his ssj3 form. SSJ3 adult goku is far stronger than ssj2 vegeta, that´s why he thinks he can beat baby vegeta. The thing is that was the first time he used ssj3 being a kid, so he learned that fact the hard way. I agree with your points anyway as I love Dragon ball GT.
That's because creator Toriyama had little to nothing to do with Dragonball GT. He in fact hated the character and intended to kill him off after the Saiyan saga, but Vegeta was a fan favorite character in the manga. So Vegeta got to stay purely for the fans
@@sydneyowusu3750 speak for yourself. A lot of DBZ fans, myself included also agree that both DBS Goku and Vegeta are the inferior versions of their DBZ times people made fun of Boruto nerfing Naruto and Sasuke physically. but DBS nerfed Goku and Vegeta mentally
@@fluffydough6557 that's a nice way to put it the contrast is hilarious. for the "power creep", the concept of "Ultra Instinct" was already explored in DBZ and Goku went on multiple arcs to achieve it. It wasn't as "OP" as the new generation fanboy over, but philosophically, i like DBZ version more.
@@sydneyowusu3750 He already got over his petty rivalry with Goku in the DBZ. even in GT, his main goal was just about protecting those he cared about. In DBS you got Saiyan "Kararot" who only cared about fighting someone strong and not the Matured Goku we had in DBZ. And you still got the prideful prince of Saiyans whose ego was still so big he couldn't stand seeing Kararot being stronger than himself - not the guardian that we had in DBZ and even in GT. At least he was still a good father tho.
While I do agree GT Vegeta is better than Super Vegeta my favorite moment of the character though, is when he’s confronting Goku Black and he absolutely loses his mind against him. He was legitimately pissed at Black because he stole Goku’s body taking the easy way to strength. Even showing that he has respect for Goku.
I think the reason why Vegeta let go of the urge to become better than Goku is that he simply admitted that in the Buu saga. "You are better than me Kakarot, you are the best". GT just continued where Z left.
One of the big things to me, As vegeta became an earthling, he slowly discarded his saiyan/frieza force armor. By buu saga vegeta is only wearing his jump suit and gloves. In Gt, vegeta finally discards it. I feel this was supposed to show vegeta slowly growing into an earthling, he even learned to drive, grew a moustache, and CUT HIS HAIR, rather than just a warrior. Super completely ignores this and vegeta is back in his full armor most of the time.
Bebi makes characters stronger, Gohan & Piccolo’s feats are both a testament to their own strength. We see Vegeta need Super Saiyan to overpower Goten & Gohan, who Goku could easily handle in Base. Then I’m the Super 17 Arc does worse as a Super Saiyan than Goku does. Vegeta’s behind Goku throughout almost all of GT up until the Shadow Dragons Arc; where (before he gets SSJ4/ when Bulma brings up the bruits Waves Machine) he implies Super Saiyan 4 was the only thing separating him & Goku; and as a Super Saiyan 4 is stated equal to Goku in the Perfect Files.
Whole video doesn’t make sense. GT vegeta wasn’t even a real character for awhile. He showed up, had a mustache, felt self conscious and called Gokus wife an idiot, which is out of character, got controlled by Baby for AN ENTIRE long ass arc, disappears for awhile until the super 17 shit happens, then disappears again until BLUTZ waves and the end of GT. Vegeta in super has had consistent screen time and character development that has made him a very well rounded character and has always kept more true to himself than Goku. He’s constantly trying to be a better husband while also trying to train to be stronger personally. He cares about all sayians regardless of the father and wishes the best for his entire race, this even reflects in how he treats u6 Sayians.
It makes sense that GT Vegeta is a better character than DBS Vegeta, GT Vegeta is actually DBS Vegeta’s future version, they said that DBS events happened before GT
Vegeta needed the Blutz Wave Generator to force out his tail. The one that he would create wouldn't emit enough for that to happen.
@@iplayvideogames4678 it's not really cheating
I mean what were they gonna do train their tails out? You can't just make everything happen by training if every form was acchieved through training then the concepts to each form being acchieved would be bland and soulless
@@gabrielchastain6091 well to be fair neither of them did it on their own. That’s the point I’m trying to make
@@iplayvideogames4678 yes because you literally can't do it on your own without a tail it's literally impossible without access to the ape form
A Sayain is automatically born with the ape form without training so it isn't earned anyways
And since Goku and Vegeta love to "do things on their own" with the wide array of gravity rooms , and time chambers that they totally did things all on their own with and not with the help of popo or Bulma
*Keep in mind I'm not being a smartass towards you I'm being a smart ass towards the people who complain Vegeta cheated when he's kinda done that from the get go of early z*
I feel like ppl miss dat
Vegeta looked amazing in GT, just make sure you skip episode 2 before he shaved his mustache and hair from that hideous looking broom hairstyle to a more traditional Vegeta style. He went from looking like a 70 year old in episode 2 to right back to his 40s when he shaved.
@@UltimateShadow10Toriyama did that design, so we can blame him.
I completely agree!
you know i kinda saw something that i didn't realize before..... the saiyan armor probably represents the chip on vegeta shoulder and the barrier he has around his heart......in buu saga and in gt he sheds the armor meaning he's opened up even though he still guarded in buu saga but by the end he shed that
Underrated comment
Damn that's some good symbolism ❤
Good symbolism, especially as the armor gets smaller over time (full body in Saiyan saga, upper body in Frieza saga then just chest, then smaller chest armor in Cell until nothing in Buu) Might say something about him wearing it again in Super
Yeah but he put it back on in super LITERALLY showing his digression.
I like this, but the reason Vegeta doesn't wear the armor during the Buu Saga is because he couldn't wear it during the Tournament.
I mean when you break down GT it's legit:
Traveling the galaxy
Facing a parasite
Hell opening up
Facing the consequences of your actions
4 simple arcs in which so so much could be done.
People who say vegeta chetade are stupid
When did he surpass Goku?
This is just like comparing super pan to gt pan. We haven't seen older vegeta yet in super😂
@@SoulWarriorSFWell with how Super has been, keep expectations low.
@@SoulWarriorSFexcept the character growth of vegeta accepting Goku is the strongest already has happened
GT Vegeta reminds me of post Vegito Vegeta, He's actually like way more laid back in that part then people give him credit for and GT Vegeta feels like he grew from that

So if Yajirobe never cut off his tail Vegeta would never need the Blitz Wave generator.
@@A.S._Trunks Correct and he probably would’ve went SSJ 4 after learning to transform into SS during android saga
@@alishabazz7431 😂 Vegeta then proceeds to blitz the rest of DBZ.
So vegeta gets the power of ssj4 becaus eof a machine. Alright, looks like training is pointless for transformations now.

Well it's not just him, but oddly enough Bulma too. Also Gohan, Piccolo, and Hercule/Mr. Satan too.
"Why is he acting like this😰 I can't believe it!"
And every time I'm just :)
@@kylefields3951 Yeah it's like "Bulma, do you even know who you married?"
DBS Vegeta would happily throw his family out of the window if it will make him slightly more powerful.

Zamasu = Gods
Moro = Magic
Goku Black = Demons
Granolah = Immigrants/Assassins who survived from Saiyan Attacks from the past.
Goku’s kid body doesn’t reduce his Power Level it ONLY reduces his stamina
Which makes Super Saiyan 3 unusable. Which in turn reduces his Power Level significantly.
@kaczok1985 SSJ3 is a multiplier, so it doesn't reduce his PL, it just makes him unable to multiply it. And even then, when he gets his tail it stops the drain from being as straining.

I don’t think super is completely void of any character growth for Vegeta. His speech to gods in the ToP was a great moment for him. Him wanting to stay for the birth of his daughter is another moment.
i like the fact that powerscaling actually implies something about character development in this video. really good analysis!
I agree GT Vegeta being best version of Vegeta character-wise, but sadly he was kinda not used as much in GT which is huge shame because i enjoy GT. Maybe if the series was bit longer we could've seen more Vegeta :) Great video, man BTW! 👍👏🙏💪

I feel vegeta regressed as a character in super. He is a vegeta that they only try to rehash the same themes that happened in dbz.
Have you read the manga?
Really more like that dad who tries to look cool like in his glory days
Vegeta in the manga after the tournament of power is the best version of Vegeta we’ve seen in terms of character development and general awesomeness imo
Him going to Yardrat to learn from beings far weaker than him shows a humility that he’s never shown in the series before, also how he released all the energy he took from Moro back into the universe.
Yeah And his main focus now is killing Frieza. Not surpassing Goku.
We took GT for granted.. for decades.. but in retrospective, It is a fitting ending to the DragonBall Series. ❤

He is overprotective of Bra in Super too.
Vegeta sucks
Vegeta did get some time to shine but super did him dirty every time
He nearly gets his deserved kill on Frieza and is taken away for no narrative purpose other than why the hell not
He gets to beat on frost and train cabba so that's nice
But then hit makes him look like a unexpirienced chump who can't even do anything other than rush at hit
In the Goku black arc he is literally the first to get bodied and gets a few good moments but still gets beat up
And in the T.o.P he actually dosent get disrespected that much except against jiren and in the anime him giving Goku his energy was a good Character moment of him dropping his shoulder chip but that got reversed immediately as in the manga he's right back too it
Gets spirit fission only for Moro to beat his ass and Goku comes to steal the win
He did pretty good in the granolah arc though
Until black frieza Oneshot him that was just sad to watch

one thing i think super vegeta lacks is that i miss his costume from the buu saga.
the armor in Z sort of fit with the alignment of its character and it sort of fit with the storytelling. in the saiyan saga, his armor starts off with these wide shoulder pads you see in the frieza force, with the parts by the hips making it look like samurai armor. and the yellow striped padding is a running thing with dragon ball villains where they have yellow and stripes to indicate they are villains (piccolo started it and dr gero's outfit also has them)
when he changes the outfit on namek, its around the point after his humility has been challenged by goku's immense growth displayed against the ginyu force, and he ends up accepting training. he swaps out the samurai armor for a more simplified armor design, with elements. and we get the design super vegeta is currently using. its still a protective piece of armor, but he's not always wearing that smirk he had back in the saiyan saga.
his next design change is in the buu saga after the timeskip, where hes wearing just the undershirt from the armor. being a family man, he's become much less of an asshole and is more willing to be vulnerable to protect those that he cares about.
and the lack of armor makes him dressed similar to goku.
in GT, he wears several different outfits, i guess they wanted everybody to be bulma. but he's dedicated to the tank top undershirt, and they arent throwing away his character development.
in super, they went back to the cell saga/namek redesign, but its gray now because bulma worked on it. i dont find that nearly as interesting as the tank-top, and i prefer how GT expressed his connection to bulma by having her help vegeta obtain SS4.
if anything its just symbolizing how super regressed his character back to what is iconic instead of taking vegeta in a new direction.
Also because the tournament didn't allow armor.
In the latest chapter he’s not.
I love how after all of Vegeta's growth, when he sees Nappa again after so many years, he doesn't hesitate to just smoke him immediately lol
The music that starts playing at 2:00 mins, what is it? It sounds SO FAMILIAR.

Bro thats classics
Vegeta was messing with Goku SS4 & Omega, when he was in his great ape forum. Remember Vegeta shoots a blast at Omega Which omega had no real need to dodge but did anyways. Next Vegeta grabs Goku & squeezes him, then he tells Goku while in Ape form, that he could never have his reason overpowered by the "primal mind."
As for Vegta Cheating to super saiyan 4 How is it a short cut, when he has to get from "Normal Great Ape form" to "Gold Great ape from" while not having the ability to go super Saiyan 3 while doing so?
Meanwhile, Goku already had the ability to go super Saiyan 3 & only needed to Golden Great ape form? I.M.O he had to take a longer route if anything to achieve super Saiyan 4 compared to Goku. Hence what he says after he does it "AT LONG LAST I"VE ASCENDED"
people can say what they want about gt, but gt vegeta's character arc is the dictionary definition of peak fiction.
FACTS
Even though I didn't vote for him in xneoverse 2 I still wanted him in
And then shocked he got in.
I was SO HAPPY he got put in
I know it isnt intentional, but I think if you look at Vegeta's arc in Super so far (especially in the Moro/Granohla arcs) it almost lesds perfectly into Vegeta being this way in GT. I hope once they pass the end of Z, they finally start to incorporate this sort of personality for Vegeta that he had in GT, it would just make sense.
what? Super Vegeta is much better than GT “lets wait for Kakarot while i act tough and pretend i dont need him” Vegeta
EXACTLY LMFAO
You sir is my new friend yeherrme, thanks for this video of my favorite character ya dig, GT version was the best
Big disagree... Vegeta is practically carrying DBS
DBS Vegeta has most character development, has accepted that he loves the Earthlings and is living a new life, still keeping up with Goku - even tho he knows that Goku is a fighting genius, carries on with his saiyan pride, is training new saiyans, he is becoming more like a king, links up thematically with path of destruction vs path of angels, has epic speech in tournament of power
In the end of the buu saga he even admits that goku is superior to him fighting wise so it naturally flows into gt him finally growing but also changing his philosophy of being prideful of using hate and anger to become stronger and not giving his opponents the chance to get stronger just for the thrill of the fight.
Vegeta is like almost everyone's favorite.
Despite me still not being big of a fan of GT, I still like the fact that they *actually made Vegeta progress more as a character.*
What was the whole point of buu saga vegetas growth if he just took it all back?
honestly i feel like this video can be boiled down to. gt vegeta is better written but super vegeta looks alot better. the mustache is not it
Moo- stache
The only reason he needed the machine was because he didn't had his tail like goku did
And yet people misunderstand a simple concept need machine for big monkey but to transform he needs to control himself and yet people don't get that it's so annoying it's like the horrible KAKAROT meme
GT Vegeta actually looks like hes changed as a man. Vegeta still wearing the same old clothing so that Toei can sell the same old toys is so lazy.
Fun fact, actually xeno vegeta and xeno goku are the best counterparts!
They are the ones that encoutered in the movies and survived the whole GT ark, even goku
Meaning goku didnt die in the final confrontation, the best alternate universe
Plus we goku serious goku as well!
GT Vegeta: absent for most of the series, gets possed by Baby, is jobber to the main villains doesn’t even get to keep super saiyan 4.
Super Vegeta relevant in every arc, learns to follow his own path, actually keeps his transformations.
Honestly i think the only thing i don't like about GT Vegeta is his look - his hair and outfit.
People always forget that the GT characters are older than the super characters. That means the super characters at some point in time have the potential to get some key development. GT is years in the future. When Super passes the end of Z then you can start comparing characters
That's never going to happen comparisons will always be made
@@jonathank786 because people are either too impatient or stupid 😂
That's a general statement that doesn't apply here. Vegita already went through what caused his development for GT, yet in Super he, Goku, etc. take several steps down as characters, becoming flanderised versions of themselves.
No? That is not how it works anymore. There is no coherent progression due to reverted character development.
Hell, Super doesn't even tie to Z ending well. Vegeta went from hating Goku, to accepting his strength and back to trying to catch up???? How does that even tie back into GT's natural progression?
But we already saw that development at the end of Z, During the fight with Buu
GT Vegeta is one of those things I wish had gotten moved over to Super
Definitely great points. Also his GT design is the best. I prefer the biker outfit over the blue spandex anyday

The same people who say Vegeta illegitimately attained Super Saiyan 4 are the same people who overlook Goku having his tail pulled out of his ass with pliers.
Also, Moustauche Vegeta best Vegeta.
Low back
I actually like that bulma is why he got to ssj4 it shows the growth of his relationships through the series led to positive development
Great version of this character stuck in the "Goku Time" show
Dragon ball gt did a far better writing story then dragon ball super Any ways the only thing super did is repeat stuff that already happened in dragon ball z but at least the tournament of power arc was worth something
Vegeta learning that he cared more about his family than being the strongest was the point of the buu saga. GT was the conclusion of his story.
"I am an earthling who carries the pride of a Saiyan!" Top 10 hardest lines in all of dragon ball
Both incarnations are good. Super Vegeta does not just repeat himself from early DBZ and he didn't put rivalry with Goku over the Earth or his family. Remember how many times he humiliated himself to please Beerus or to train under Whis. He is also a team player and a good father.
that's pretty debatable
@@biohazardbin Let's debate then.
At the very beginning we VEgeta having quality time with his family, later he humiliated himself for Beerus entertainment, tried peaceful solutions for Buu misbehaving. Indeed, he's more selfish than GT, but it wouldn't be Vegeta without his ego. Team playing is debatable, but look, Goku is the same and VEgeta is as good team player as a Saiyan could be.
I think you see Super's version in a different light due to the story overall which focused more on tournaments than epic, world saving battles or threats.
@@biohazardbin It’s not. When bulla was born, Vegeta chose to stay with her instead of training with Goku and Whis.
GT Vegeta is the GOAT. But the poor guy didn’t win anything 😭😭😭
I disagree. The Vegeta from GT was a watered down vresion. He was mostly an afterthought. Much like all of the other main characters. GT =Goku Time
Well said
Everything about GT Vegeta was better his drip, his hairline, the way he carried himself I think he even took less losses there then usual
GT had weird villains
but at least it did't regress the main characters....
Super has weird main characters... actually... weird characters
I don’t think baby is weird. I find him one of the best villains. Super 17 and omega shenron were ok villains
@@sydneyowusu3750 speak for yourself.
A lot of DBZ fans, myself included also agree that both DBS Goku and Vegeta are the inferior versions of their DBZ times
people made fun of Boruto nerfing Naruto and Sasuke physically.
but DBS nerfed Goku and Vegeta mentally
@@fluffydough6557 that's a nice way to put it
the contrast is hilarious.
for the "power creep", the concept of "Ultra Instinct" was already explored in DBZ and Goku went on multiple arcs to achieve it.
GT Vegeta is actually my favorite Vegeta.
GT Vegeta is the true evolution of the end of Buu saga
The point of GT Vegeta is he's at the end of his story. Buu was his climax. Gt was his epilogue.
It makes sense that GT Vegeta is a better character than DBS Vegeta, GT Vegeta is actually DBS Vegeta’s future version, they said that DBS events happened before GT
