Jordan was asked if his Bulls could beat Lebron's Lakers.
    He answered, yes.
He was then asked by how much?
    He said 2-3 pts.
    They asked, why so close?
He said, well, we're all like 60 now, soo..

Great reaction. You watched the GOAT. Anyone who says differently never watched Jordan. He left bc his father was murdered and he played baseball when he was younger and wanted to pursue it for his father. He played minor league baseball for 18 mos for the white sox. He struggled overall and came back to nba when mlb went on strike and of course he missed basketball.

the game he knocked down three-pointers was the 1992 finals game 1. Everybody was comparing him to Clyde Drexler and some said Drexler was the better three-point-shooter. Mike did a new finals record at threes in this game. The last of them directly after Drexler threw an airball from downtown.

The reason MJ left to play MLB was because his dad had passed a away around that time and his dad was a huge MLB fan. He felt like his dad would've wanted him to play in the MLB so he did it for him. I also know he was really down about his fathers passing and was likely feeling the burnout of being on top for three straight years at the same time.

There are 4 times in NBA history that a player in a single season has won
    -Finals MVP
    - MVP
    - Scoring Title
    - First team All-Defense
    Michael Jordan is all 4.
He went 6/6 in the NBA finals Threepeating twice and won Finals MVP EVERY SINGLE TIME.
If you didn't see him play you just don't get it. He literally made every other player in the league look like they were playing in slow motion.
    To quote Larry Bird:
“That wasn't Michael Jordan out there, that was God disguised as Michael Jordan.”

    His father was murdered.
And it's believed to be that the stress of not just winning three championships 82 game season plus the playoffs and only having 2 months off a year followed by also being a part of the 1992 dream team and having no time off
That's a lot you're talking about. Working for straight years.
Being the most famous human being on earth, not being able to go anywhere ever.
Having no time off of work and having the unfortunate situation of your father being murdered led to him wanting to pursue a dream of playing baseball.
    (As a brief summary)

MJ won 3 in row 91 92 and 93, his dad was murdered that summer of 1993 and I believe that led MJ to retire and to try his hand at baseball. He left for the entire 1994 season and then came back toward the end of the 95 regular season. MJ was not in prime basketball playing shape and the Bulls lost to a young Shaq and Penny Hardaway Orlando Magic squad in the conference semifinals. After a full camp in 96 the Bulls dominated again and won in 96 97 and 98. He retired again after the 98 championship. I believe if he had not left the Bulls would have won 8 straight championships. He came back in 2001 and played for the Washington Wizards. At that point he was still a good player but father time was beginning to erode his abilities. Make no mistake about it, MJ is the GOAT.

The story why he first retired wasn't really much of a story. MJ just commented that there was not many goals for him to accomplish or that his desire to compete wasn't strong it was time for him to move away from the game. Something like that. Unfortunately his dad was murdered after and after baseball not working out as well as basketball he decided to come back later the next 2 seasons in 1995.

No one comes close to Michael Jordan. I think that is the consensus for everyone that grew up watching the Bulls win rings, as i did. LeBron is the greatest player of this generation hands down and he now has the most points but Jordan could have won the all time leading scorer if he wanted to. He retired 3 times. He missed 140+ games between the first retirement and his second 3 peat - that would of been 5k points and he could of scored another 5k points between his second retirement and when he came back to play for the Wizards in his late 30's early 40's. Lebron has shown greatness in longevity and he has played like no other player for 20 years. Jordan's greatness was more concentrated, drive and intensity unmatched and the way he played, no one except Kobe comes close.

His father was murdered, shot dead and dumped on the side of the road, Jordans championship ring stolen too i believe. That plus the media and fan rumors about him getting his father killed with his gambling debts really drove him to the point that he wanted to leave and try baseball which was his dad's favorite sport and he always wanted MJ to play pro baseball. Those conspiracies and the fact that MJ never won a unanimous MVP, and didn't win MVP in 97 despite following his 96 72 win season with 69 wins should show a lot of youngsters that believe MJ could do no wrong and was a media created star - know absolutely nothing, but i know those fans are a rare stupid b/c the eye test and stats speaks for itself.

So, that was why he quit or he would have 8 rings instead of 6. Nobody could’ve stopped him and Bird and Magic were both passed their prime when MJ was peeking out of his prime. Just like when MJ was passed his prime when Kobe was peeking out of his prime, and the same thing when LBJ came in to the league. I’m assuming that kid from France will take over LBJ’s spot or his son will.

Younger gens, that never actually watched MJ play, think Lebron is the goat. MJ played against defenses, where centers could linger under the rim. And yet he was dunking, scoring from everywhere, passing, rebounding, stealing, blocking. If he was playing against defenses like in today's NBA, there would be no one saying he's not the G.O.A.T. So, just for timeline context - Bird and Magic both came into the league in the 1979-80 season. Jordan came into the league a few years later in 1984-85. Jordan was an immediate star but it took several seasons before the Bulls became contenders. In Jordan's second year he set the playoff single game scoring record, scoring 63 against Bird and the Celtics...but the Celtics still won the game and swept the Bulls in three games. And, yes, Jordan never beat Bird in a playoff game going 0-6, getting swept twice - BUT those series were early in Jordan's career. Once Jordan reached his full potential and the Bulls put a good team around him, he won three consecutive championships, then retired for a year and a half, then came back and won three more consecutive championships.
By the way, I looked it up and in the 19 years from 1979-80 (Bird and Magic's first season) until 1997-98 (Jordan's last season with the Bulls) the Lakers/Celtics/Bulls won a combined 14 championships and Bird/Magic/Jordan won a combined 11 MVP's.

The problem with MJ is that because you can’t help but see the “Athleticism”, all of his other attributes are lost in the glow..things such as IQ, “handles, passing, 3pt shooting, “play making” abilities etc., luckily, any doubters can go in the
“Vault” find what they’re looking for.
No one would expect a near-lottery team with 1 star to beat a seasoned
    Team with 5 “hall-of-famers”.
Scottie started coming along throughout the years, but no way MJ had the supporting cast to deal with the Celts when he got to the league. He did avg 28 ppg. his rookie year
    Though.
MJ was a beast on both ends of the court..scoring leader and DPOY?? Bird was ok on defense, but nothing near what the Goat could do on Defense.
In ‘96 he avg 43% from 3 pt range on 260 attempts. Of course he got better as his career progressed.
This notion he didn’t have a “3” is non-sense; just ask the Trailblazers.
As MJ said, he didn’t want to be that guy “camped” out at the 3 pt line waiting to get the ball…Look at what this style of play has done to the league today??
Take it from “Larry “Legend after MJ hung 63 around their necks:
'It's just God disguised as Michael Jordan'.
    That record still stands..
“Larry Legend”?!? No doubt one of the GREATEST to ever do it… but for a game winning shot?? I’m going with someone who shot roughly 50% in late game situations where you needed a bucket to tie, win or go into OT… that would be MJ.
If I needed to pick a starting 5 to save humanity if the Aliens came down?? Larry Legend” would definitely be 1 of them!

here's why LaBron should not even be a part of the conversation. Jordan played the WHOLE game at both ends of the floor.
"Michael Jordan, Gary Payton, Garnett and Bryant share the record for most NBA All-Defensive first team selections with nine. Scottie Pippen, Bobby Jones, and Duncan made the first team eight times each. Walt Frazier, Dennis Rodman and Chris Paul made the All-Defensive first team seven times." You don't see LaBron in that list -- anywhere! Why? Because he's repeatedly done something Jordan NEVER did (and neither did Bird). Quit in the middle of a game.

Labron has been named to the All-Defensive team 5 times. Not counting the partial season that is presently underway, Labron has played 20 full seasons. That is to say, 25%.

Great video. As a 59 year old Knick fan who got to see Mike embarrass my team in person many times, I can tell you, of all the players I have seen in my lifetime, Jordan is easily the GOAT. So many people today say LeBron is, but that’s because they never got to see Jordan play. Even this amazing compilation of his most exciting plays doesn’t really cover how dominant he was over the entire NBA. He single-handedly prevented many great basketball teams from winning championships who otherwise would have. LeBron is a great player who makes other players around him better, but Michael was a force unto himself. In fact, no offense to LeBron fans, but I think a better challenger to Michael’s GOAT status would be Kobe Bryant. The GOAT should be a player his teammates looked to to carry the team. Michael and Kobe were that type of player, whereas LeBron was more of a quarterback on the court, directing his team and getting everyone involved in the team’s success. Anyway, that’s my take on it. Sorry it took me a year to finally see your video, but better late than never! Great job!
