    🌺🌸 Wow! Triple wow! What a gorgeous table topper! Thanks a million for showing us how to make it!One day, for sure, I’ll make some. Do you recommend making this before making the hot pads or the other way around for a first time with this type of project? What would be easier?

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  Год назад +3

      We're so glad this project inspires you! We would definitely recommend a smaller project with prairie points, such as the Folded Star Hot Pad project before you try this one. Creating the Folded Star Hot Pad will help increase your skill level and comfortability with both creating prairie points and laying them out. Hope this helps :) -Michelle

    Wonderful tutorial! I am about to begin the centerpiece that is poppy print and gold, I can't wait to have it done. What type of needle did you use when sewing through all the prairie points? Do I need a special needle if I use monofilament thread?

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  3 месяца назад

      Hi Pat - Wwould recommend a size 100/16 Super Non Stick needle for the this Table Topper. We use the same needle for Monopoly thread, but we also use the Thread Director to ensure the Monopoly doesn't "twist" off of the spool as we are stitching. Hope this helps!! -Michelle

    I’m thinking you could use a Frixion pen or disappearing marker of some sort to draw your guide lines for the first set of prairie points instead of using the ruler. Just a thought.

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  3 месяца назад

      Hi Connie! We're so glad this project inspires you! Great catch about that dual feed not being engaged for the binding. I believe what happened was that we had to change out the presser feet during this, and we must have forgotten to re-engage it before continuing with filming. Hope this makes sense :) -Michelle

      Susan, if you spray starch iron all of your fabrics, you will find that they not only shrink some in one direction, but more importantly you will have that you have nice crisp fabric for precise cutting and when pressing those prairie points they be nice and sharp.
