Bruce forsyth was a UK national treasure, entertained the nation on saturday nights for so many years. He also held the guisness world record for the longest male tv and entertainment career, and the female world record holder was the US's Legend Betty White. When Bruce died, she took the crown for the overall world record of longest tv career.
The older man at the start and at the end is Bruce Forsyth (1928 - 2017), he'd been on TV forever, and everyone knew who he was... Radio TV films stage gameshow host singer, he was the all round celebrity from the dawn of time.
This program was made in 1993(!), nearly 30 years ago. There are two famous people in it: Bruce Forsyth (the guy who is telling off Lee) - he was an entertainer in the old fashion way, did a lot of game shows, also he was a very good dancer, he died in 2017; the guy with a soft toy walking up the stairs is Jack Dee (@1:00), a very good comedian (he never smiles).
I must've been to see Lee Evans a good 5-6 times and he's definitely one of the all time greats for me. An absolute legend who always puts on a top performance. The Jim Carrey comparison was spot on too as he definitely reminds me of Jim with all the physical style comedy, exaggerated facial expressions and so on. He's also the comedian that from all those I've seen who seems most genuinely appreciative of his fans and I've seen him stay back to put on an extra half an hour or perform suggestions such as his legendary Bohemian Rhapsody sketch just because a few people asked. All round top guy that's had me in tears of laughter so many times! Check out his later shows like Live In Scotland, XL , Live at Wembley, Live at the O2 etc, they are all brilliant
The first time I saw Lee live was at Southend, a home gig for him, he did over 2 hours, my stomach muscles and ribs hurt so much for 5 days after I was in agony from laughing so much.
Lee Evans is literally the reason I love UK comedy. I used to watch all his specials on Comedy Central. I'm so annoyed he stopped touring before I could go and see him.
I was fortunate to see all his shows on tour, and on TV too. Sadly he retired about 5 years ago, because he missed his wife and family, touring the world so much. Exausted too no doubt.
Lee actually has his own RUclips channel where he uploads clips from his shows over the years. He's one of my all time favourite comedians. He is always energetic, hilarious and worth looking into further. Keep up the great work fella's, love your channel
So glad you enjoyed watching Lee. He was a big part of my childhood. I was bullied and attacked at school at times and his stand up routines were like an escape. I would learn some of his mannerisms and voices, remember some of his jokes and used it at school. I become the clown of the playground and my impressions would make them bullies laugh and leave me alone afterwards. I even became good friends with one of them as I became a young adult as he has grown up and regretted his behavior, even apologising. Comedy is a distorted reflection of our reality that can hold your hand through the worst times. I wish Lee the happiest of days in his retirement
I'm glad that worked for you. My bullies stopped being bullies after they saw me on the Rugby pitch. And realised adrenalin is not too be messed with. Stay Strong Decent People. Cheer's 🇬🇧
The only man to turn ADHD into a super power hahaha. No the true fact is even to this day he is a nervous person on stage the only man who can turn nerves into a super power one of our great british icon
I adore Lee Evans. I've seen him live a couple of times and he is just hysterical. This is a tv special. Believe it or not, he didn't really hit his stride here. You need to get some clips from one of his tours. 'Roadrunner' is a good one.
Lee Evans is also in The Fifth Element. He has to be one of the most phyisical comedians of all time. He doesn't run out of jokes, he finishes a workout.
I think this must be about 30 years old !! Lee has now officially retired, way too soon in most peoples opinion. I saw him when he started out in the late eighties or early nineties in a social club at a power station of all places, back then he moved even faster around the stage !! His energy was incredible and everyone new he was gonna make it big !! Great talent and said to be a lovely lad
Wow, I never expected Lee Evans to come here. Lee Evans is one of my all-time favorite comedians, he is amazing. His O2, XL tour, and Roadrunner are hilarious and are some of the best comedy stuff I've seen. It's a shame you can't see them anymore in YT apart from clips here and there.
He plays on his natural nervousness , quality comic his more recent tours are a little more polished defo worth checking out his later stiff, he has a music background and likes to feature that as an element of his shows
I love lee so damn much honestly. The best British comedian to me. Also the joke you made about the thing you lost being in the last place you looked... He's made that exact joke before 🤣.
He is nothing like that in real life its just an on stage persona quite incredible. He writes, produces, directs, plays instruments great singing voice, performs, he is super super talented.
He is extra breathy and hyper on stage than in real life. I’ve heard him speak out side of shows, he’s incredibly calm and well spoken and modest. He can turn accents on like a tap (faucet). He’s one of the greatest comedians we in Britain have. No one has been quite as physical as him since he retired ❤
He's good at making himself the target of his own jokes, like "I used to be a pretty good boxer, I never finished worse than 2nd... 3rd if there was a ref" He takes a lot of inspiration from Norman Wisdom (a bit crazy and awkward) and silent movies (over acting and lots of action).
'Weird, wired and wonderful' is Lee Evan's best stand up show for me. 'An audience with' is Early Lee. And the guy at the start with the teddy is Jack Dee, another great dead pan comedian.
I went to see him live 3 times in 2008, 2011 & 2014. He was an absolute legend and an honour to watch. Miming Bohemian Rhapsody was one of his most famous routines, it was even an encore at the end of his Wembley arena show during the 2002 Wired and wonderful tour.
Lee Evans was also in 'The Medallion' alongside Jackie Chan. Bruce Forsyth, largely known for his game shows in the UK (Price is Right etc.), was an all-rounded variety entertainer. He's probably best known to the USA as henchman from Bedknobs & Broomsticks & a guest on The Muppet Show.
Lee Evans has always been brilliant!! I particularly loved your response to the Queen bit and I remember the first time I saw it and had the same response!! Lol!! Also on a side note, Spencer should wear the hair down more!! It looks great!!
Hey guys, I can’t believe you never heard of Lee Evans…. He’s one of the funnest men alive! His stand up shows are legendary, and he always finishes on a song. He’s also a brilliant actor, you may have seen him in film, There’s something about Mary. Please check out more Lee Evans. He is so talented! 👍🏻👍🏻
Lee Evans is a true legend of comedy. Believe it or not, this is one of his worst performances, and it is still hilarious. Check his Scotland show, or the West End show. They are truly amazing. Oh, and you might remember him from The Fifth Element.
I hadn’t watched this because of the title, was worried that You didn’t like him😂😱glad that you do cos he’s one of my favourite. Enjoyed this fellas 😂😂👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🫶🏽👍🏽
That old Gentleman was Bruce Forsyth. He was in Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and was an old school all round entertainer. Could sing, dance, telll jokes, host shows, and an absolute DIAMOND BLOKE
Lee the Legend always finishes with a big bang, writing all his own music. The guy brings so much to comedy and very talented. Also when he mentioned the American show 90210, he speaks about every day life… as in when you two would watch the show and relate to Lee when he mentions right lets be realistic when waking up. 90210 was an example of how these tv shows only show model types and supposedly being real life they always look amazing and have the perfect life. You said it yourself but you have to keep in mind his comedy is based on every day issues the working class would deal with :) all his shows are amazing but if you have the chance check out his Scotland show.. it’s old but gold and a very unique start to it
I actually saw Lee Evans live doing an act in a nightclub he did all sorts of gymnastics to music he brought a giant radio we used to call a ghetto blaster this was very early on in his career he is such a funny man absolute genius thanks for these clips though brilliant ❤
Wow, that was Bruce Forsyth at the beginning saying "You only get one chance is show business". That man was very famous in the UK as a presenter/host.
Lee Evans starred a film called ‘Freeze Frame’ in 2004. It’s a fantastic film and not a comedy, but a story about how he was found not guilty of a triple murder and is now paranoid since his release. Definitely worth watching.
he is known for being very VERY nervous before coming on stage he usually starts his shows or at least his older ones, with a higher pitch and it kind of mellows out during the course of the show.
I've seen lee live on his retirement tour it was the hardest I've ever laughed in my life. I'm glad he had a break in the middle as my ribs were aching from all the laughing. I've read his book and seen interviews on him. He has said over the years he has really struggled with nerves and the thought of failing the audience which is why he is so lively on stage. He is a true comedy genius my favourite comedian by far
A totally amazing comedian that many wish was still working and entertaining, we all need his humour again. His Bohemian Raphsody sketch is one of his most famous and popular acts, and a many times requested favourite for fans.
One of my fav comedians saw him play the small venues and grow as a comedian seeing him at vast arenas.. met him a few times and he’s just as mad normal .. a top top comic
Can I recommend you check out a little known British Comic called Chris McCausland, specifically his 2018 Live at the Apollo skit. He's registered blind, which brings a different perspective in to his comedy. I find him hilarious & more people should discover him (although he's started to make more appearances on panel shows these days). Love the reactions, keep them coming!
Is his hyperactivity intentional? Yes. Is he also naturally hyper even off stage? Yes. Is his awkwardness intentional? Yes. Is he just an awkward person? Yes.
He is always so nervous when he performs, he sweats like no man! Sadly quit stand up when his manager passed away because he said he couldn’t do it without him
Hi Guys, as well as (Mousehunt), he had a supporting role in the 1997 Bruce Willis film (The Fifth Element) as a Star-liner leading crewman. Another more dramatic role alongside Jerry Lewis in a 1995 comedy/drama film called (Funny Bones).
I love Lee Evans i always have because everything he jokes about is something we have experienced in our life so his even more funny because its relatable therefore even more funny.
the man at the end was Bruce Forsyth. he was a very famous (in the UK) entertainer and presenter who died in 2017 and was a household name. the vast majority of people in the UK have seen him at some point since the '50s on the tv, though most now days probably know him for co-presenting Strictly Come Dancing, the UK Dancing with the Stars (idk which one came first). also Lee Evans is great! got a couple of his shows on dvd (Big (At the O2) and The World of Lee Evans) and they made Lee my favourite comedian when i was younger. i couldn't find any non-official channels with Big on youtube, but i'm sure someone out there could.
I went to go see Lee Evans with my mates.. We knew the time of the last train, and we would have to miss the last 10 minutes of the act.. We could see a bunch of other people suddenly leave at 1 point, and we guessed they had to get the same train too.. But, we all decided we would stay and miss the train.. We were glad we did, as he did the Bohemian Rhapsody for us Live... I fell/slid off my chair, I was trying to breathe but all I could do was exhale, I could never draw in more air as I was laughing so much... It was the best "missing a train" of my life.. Ended up having to wait an hour in the cold (thankfully, not raining) for my dad to drive to come pick us up.. Was totally worth it though.
Alright lads, I’ve only come across your channel in the last 2 weeks and I love it already. I’m from Ireland and if you want more Irish content, I’d suggest: Foil Arms and Hog - Comedy Trio that do sketches and live shows. I’d recommend the live shows over the sketches like “Motivation Talk to Prisoners”, “Regional Accent Discrimination”, “Songs for the Elderly” and “The Green Card Game Show”. (It’s very much Irish Humour do it would be interesting to see if you’d like it) Sgt Ducky - An Irish RUclipsr who does animations about life in Ireland. I’d HIGHLY recommend his “An Accurate Guide to Ireland Series” as he goes over some of the - let’s call it more common aspects of Irish life. It’s a really funny and accurate look into Irish life. A great, short thing you could watch is compilation of Irish news incidents. Irish news has some of the weirder interviews or moments you’d ever see. A comedian you should check out is Dara O’Briain (Oh-Bree-in). He’s up there with Tommy Teirnan for most people. He was the host of Mock the Week. Or what would also be interesting would be to see you guys react to the history of Ireland and how it separated from Britain.
One of the funniest most animated comedians EVER!! Great choice 👍🏻 may I suggest his 'Live in Scotland' show please? Thats the best one I think, then 'Live at the o2' 🤣
Those crane machines normally have their payouts fixed. There's a cam hiding inside that sets the clamping force of the grabber, and that's what they adjust to make it pay out more or less.

A legend of Saturday night entertainment.

He did a 1980 TV movie with Sammy Davis Jr called "Sammy and Bruce".
He was about 700.....
His bohemian rhapsody is legendary. The one where he pushes the piano about while doing it was epic
Got that on vhs 😂

There all but a few comedians who have encapsulated comedy through their facial expressions, let's add Rowan Atkinson to that list.

Lee Evans starred a film called ‘Freeze Frame’ in 2004.

I’d recommend the live shows over the sketches like “Motivation Talk to Prisoners”, “Regional Accent Discrimination”, “Songs for the Elderly” and “The Green Card Game Show”. (It’s very much Irish Humour do it would be interesting to see if you’d like it)
Sgt Ducky - An Irish RUclipsr who does animations about life in Ireland.
Lee Evans is the greatest comedian out of the UK, he is just brilliant and I'm both happy I saw one of his last shows but sad it was one of the last!
Jack Dee in start of video if definitely worth a watch
It’s all in the presentation.😂
Lee was in the movie 'The 5th Element', 'There's Something About Mary' and 'The Medallion' to name a few.
"He was from Mouse Hunt" I nearly died laughing when you said that hahah
Guy at the end is Bruce Forsyth British institute who was on tv for over 50 years
Those crane machines normally have their payouts fixed. There's a cam hiding inside that sets the clamping force of the grabber, and that's what they adjust to make it pay out more or less.
He was great in "There's Something About Mary". That whole movie was nuts.
I’m impressed that you recalled him from Mouse Hunt!
