Love this, hope it gets on the air3 and mini pro4 soon
I don’t think the mini 4 pro deserves it but air 3 for sure
@@babybird1138why not? It's a pro drone
MINI 4 Pro may not have the processing power to employ vision assist -or cooling. It maxes out its hardware more than other drones with so many processing intensive tasks. It's only active cooling is prop wash being forced through the inlets (they are not vents) over the rear arm hinges. Not saying it's impossible, may actually be perfectly capable. Just food for thought.
I nearly flew sideways into a building a couple weeks ago because I was using the Air 3 instead of my Mavic 3. It would definitely be nice to have the vision assist feature with the air three as well, and I think it goes without saying that the Inspire 3 especially considering how much it costs should absolutely have vision assist! In my opinion, it should’ve been the first DJI drone to have that feature!
You couldn’t be more right 🔥🔥
Yup agree with you man, Vision assist is s blessing. The shots that you took with the boat was epic!! where you flying from the boat or on land ?
Yup I will also like to know where you were when you captured the shots especially with the shot that allowed you to use the trees as the foreground.
+1
You could see him on the boat, plus he said so. "On the trip back" did you think he was running along the forested hills catching boat shots? 😂
@@TriniWeekesYou could see him on the boat, plus he said so. "On the trip back" did you think he was running along the forested hills catching boat shots? 😂
@@BlairAir Thanks for clearing that up appreciated
Do you know if they will release this for the Inspire 3?
I hope they do
I think there should be a baseline of some features for all DJI drones to be featured on certain categories of drones !! The customer satisfaction should be at a higher priority that should come with these base features !! The ball is in your court DJI !!
There are "base features" on DJI drones... Spot Light, Master Shots, Quick Shots, etc... All DJI drones can't have all of the same features due to hardware limitations.
@@londenard oKAY ... I SWAPPED MY MINI 3 PRO FOR MINI 4 PRO... MY NEW DRONE CHANNEL COMING UP. THANKS YA'LL. SECOND CHANNEL.
We have dual operator mode on a few DJI drones now - sort of. Its called WAYPOINTS. Let waypoints ply the drone -set camera: heading, angle and zoom to Manual. Its obviously only good for planned shots, no chasing boats for example, but it works SO WELL in the right scenarios. 👍
Meh, waypoints isn’t that appealing to me. I need full control to make last minute moves as necessary.
@billykyle Yea, I buy drones to fly them, not sit and watch them fly themselves.
@londenard So what, you would never be "camera guy" on a production where a pilot is Flying Inspire 3 in dual operator mode in a high-speed car chase? Sorry that role is below you, lol! I was painting out the value of simulated dual OPERATOR, not getting action shots with a Waypoint Mission. Who would even do that?
@billykyle as I said, only good on a planned choreographed flight. Absolutely useless on a boat chase. There is absolute value to Waypoints, and it's not for action videography.
@BlairAir Yea because we're fucking talking about high end productions here... yeesh. I've used dual camera mode on the Mavic 2 Pro, Inspire 2 and Mavic Pro. We're taking about consumer drones here... why didn't you bring up the Matrice 600?
Vision assist is incredible. Shooting sunrise and sets in constantly shutting off the sensors due to the glares effecting and flight. Great to have VA. Loved the video bro.
Totally agree! I hope they bring it to the Air 3 🔥🔥
Helo
I have air3 who i fly myself..no crash, flying fine but between signal strenth and satellites icons a MIDDLE ICON shown red and warning displayed
"Fwd and BKWD unavilable
Left/right unavailable
Up/down unavailable "
I cant understand what is ths
Pls help
I will b greatfull to u
Where is it for the Air 3 😞
Yeah I hope they add it
if u dont mind so i request u that PLS SPEAK SLOWLY cause mostly guys cant understand what u say due to fast speaking
i really like urs vids
It's a nice feature. As an air2s owner i can't take advantage of it. But dji should bring full waypoints to the 2S. Is has no point to have waypoints on the mini 4 pro and not on the 2s. The "no side sensor " is not a good argument because the 2s can do waypoints in hyperlapse. And can do active tracking. And a lot of things in which can autonomously crash sideways with things.
So they should simple provide us to native waypoints support so we don't need to rely on third party apps to do that.
The reason is not technical. Air 2S is EOD and has been almost a year. The small number of 3 year old models DJI moves monthly doesn't warrant development cycles/man hours. It was abd is a great drone, one of DJIs all time greats. But there will be no further development as far as I can see. They haven't even fixed 2 bugs I reported in February 23.
BILLY,,, What's good FAMILY.....
They will bring it to the A-3 ,,, just a matter of time,,, it has the same sensors...
I hope they do 😎
I just opened my DJI M4P and the 360 obstacle avoidance system is phenomenal, it'll be even better with this feature!
Great video!
Such a great drone!
Jeep
mavic 3 is the goat
Yup. Mavic 3 Pro is unbeatable.
Just googled it after the mini 4 update. I think this is cool but leads to bad habbits forming. You’re meant to keep visual line of site and in general one eye on the drone just incase anything unexpected happens. You shouldn’t be reliant on staring at a screen. I get it’s a cool feature but yeah, don’t forgo keeping an eye on the drone 😊
It’s the most helpful new feature in my opinion
Does it comes as a update for the Mini drones? Like the pro 3 or 4? Or only for the Mavic series?
Lon made some great points about this vision assist that made much more sense to me as to why this is a good feature...you nailed it here! Good job bro! 👏🏼
Hell, you should see some of the other footage I've gotten using VA! I did a whole battery flying backward, looking up through a forest.
@@londenard that's crazy how convenient that is, I never actually thought that feature would be worth a crap...that's cool
Lon could really use this feature seeing how he flies lol
@@billykyle 😂😂👊🏼
Wow, this is genious! When you think that DJI can't possibly come up with more new and unique features, other than longer flight time or a larger camera sensors, they prove us wrong once again :)
So true! Very helpful
And about firmware updates, DJI does not have a good track record. Still waiting for a cine mode configuration of max speed.
Idk, the firmware updates have been solid for me 🔥
So incredibly nice landscape and nature! really great images, thanks for sharing! Always love looking at your recordings - aside from the info! - also interesting to see what stabilistation is doing: the main camera is very steady while in the vision assist b/w video the turbulences can be seen quite clear...
What? That's MY favorite feature!
No it’s mine.
@@billykyle Um no, I have seniority, junior!
my Mavic pro 2 recently crashed and i'm planning on replacing it with the 3. This feature is just the best thing ever, so keen to have this confidence while flying
Vision assist is a real asset for flying in tight spaces. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
So great!
...Pretty exciting alright! Do you know if DJI plans to spread the feature to other drones....the mini Pro 4....Mavic 2 Pro ? 🤞Love Tofino. Lucky you great weather in summer
I hope they do. Tofino is awesome 😎
B.est C.anada
Such an amazing feature I don't think this is coming to my Air 2S sadly.
Needs the no OA hardware. Definitely won’t be introduced on the Air 2S
that's really handy !!
Cool
It's definitely an interesting concept.
However, the high contrast in the actual remote, at the moment, almost makes it unusable.
Is there some black magic you're utilizing to create a more mid-saturated version in the app, like the one you're showcasing?
I don’t think it’s unusable at all. The camera quality doesn’t need to be good. It’s just enough to see larger objects which is perfect.
This definitely is a game changer & could have saved many M3 in the past. Great look man 💪🏾 💪🏾
I’m sorry I can’t read comments left from Samsung phones
Another one another great video 🚁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
about time DJI did this. can't believe it took them so long.
It's a great feature.
This may be a stupid question, I apologize. You remarked you would have been upset about losing content on SD card if the Drone crashed. Being DJI is using such higher end transmission , why couldn’t all your shots/videos be transmitted from Drone to SD card in remote ? If not possible now could it be in future?
Yes they do - but it’s still limited to jpeg and low resolution video.
Hi Billy. A great feature. I fly a Mavic and Inspire 2. The POV camera on the Inspire has saved me a few times. Because I turn the camera for the shot, the POV camera is always pointing in the direction that I am flying, but sometimes it would be great to be able to see in another direction if I quickly change direction but not turn the camera. BTW In a few of your demos flying a Mavic, AIr or Mini over the river next to the highway, your flight path is parallel to the highway with your camera turned slightly towards the highway. How do you do that? On the Inspire it is just a matter of aiming the drone and turning the camera.
Fly diagonally? A simulated dual operator mode is available on anything with woypoints, sort of and only fir planned shots. Waypoint Mission Flys the aircraft, set camera: Heading, gimbal angle abd zoom to manual. WP pilots the aircraft, while operator can change camera heading, angle, zoom.
Dude again, D Jay I Not D Geee I Come on now !
Imagine taking the time to comment this
Very helpful video, thank you
Thanks for watching!
DJI need to add this to the Air 3 for sure! Thanks for the video and for sharing.
I hope they do!
@@billykyle Have they done it yet ? Buying Air 3 later today....
@@frodeskibrek yes they have although you probably know by now
Yo Billy , one question , then what is the true essence of the “ omni sensors “ on those drones if they CAN'T detect objects around them ?
They are fisheye lenses. That plus the FOV gets overlapped with the other sensor_cameras.
Don’t really understand the question, sorry man.
@@billykyle ... IF THEY CAN'T DETECT OBJECTS AROUND THEM... I MEANT..
they can detect obstacles, but, they have reaction time limitations so speed must be limited for them to work. Sport mode speeds are too fast for the sensors, this is where seeing real-time video from these cameras is invaluable. At high speeds you can see the live feed and react better than the flight controller.
Air3 has larger sensors than my Air2S allowing this feature I suspect
Yes it does
Hope this feature comes to Air 3, anytime soon. For now we've AR features.
Yup I hope so
I never knew they were actual cameras
Hahaha yeah they are
Now that all new DJI drones have omnidirectional sensors they should roll out this vision assist to all.
Agreed!
Hi, Billy Kyle. I have the Air 3. Would love vision assist. Question, How close to the Mavic 3 is the Air 3? All around comparison
It’s not about close the air 3 has 360 cameras so it’s all on dji to release an update for the air 3
They are very similar.
Good feature to have.
Totally agree 🔥💪🏼
Great feature but i am not impressed.
Y
@@billykyle I Only look down, orbit, or pull back over open Ocean
Game changer!
Totally agree 🙌
I can maybe see DJI refining this system in future drones , color and higher definition in the small window .
Resolution is limited by the sensor type and cycles they are willing to take away from other processes. Why on earth would color be required?
Thanks , but I do know this , that is why I said in future Drones , not in a firmware update , why color ? because humans see in color (most of them) @@BlairAir
That would be sweet
Why do you shoot your photos in 4:3
Because 3:2 isn’t an option.
@@billykyle I mean you can shoot photos in 16:9
Will this feature be available on the Dji mini 4 pro?
I hope
It would be a dream come true to see this on the mini4 pro!
Billy have you forgot about obstacle avoidance. I understand vision assist is a good tool to have when you choose not to use obstacles avoidance. Thank you for all your videos, I always look forward to your bias opinion.
Have you forgotten about being able to see around the drone? I'd rather be in control rather than trust the drone's obstacle avoidance 100%.
No OA in sport mode.
Besides, you can get some great shots because you can put the camera in one direction while flying another and use the VA cameras to see where you are going.
Obviously, you guys did not read my full post. I said I understand vision assist is a good tool to have when you choose not to use obstacle avoidance.
@mhmphotography400 Oh I read it and your smart ass remark about "bias opinion"... Go ahead and let me know which other drones have this feature and how Billy is being "biased" by showcasing it? It's by far my favorite feature as well. Just like Billy pointed out, Obstacle Avoidance can get in your way and ruin your shot. Vision Assist allows you to get your shot AND look out for any obstacles. I've used it to fly all around large cities and wooded areas, looking in unusual directions with the main camera.
People like you like to shit on people that appreciate it when a company excels. Like it's some kind of crime to be enthusiastic about a new product or feature. It's pathetic. DJI is under no obligation to keep developing these upgrades for a 2 year old product. I personally think it's pretty cool that they do. Fuck you if you don't. You probably don't even own a Mavic 3 and just came here to be a dick. Go rain on someone else's parade.
