Guys, The most perfect reaction channel on RUclips...As a 54 year old I have a friend who is a concert photographer and 2 teenage daughters that I love watching as they discover what real talent and music truly is 🤘🏻 I watched the Hear-n-aid documentary and someone asked why the Dave and Adrian even bothered turning up with the other players being there... That's when I cried and realised some people only see and hear the glory of posers.... The skill and talent that naturally runs between those two is a once in a lifetime thing... Add that with Steve's bass playing that weaves a perfect canvas for them to paint perfect sonic art upon then you realise its not all glory... Its a sound of its own that blesses your soul with it's existence 🖤🖤🤘🏻🤘🏻
I dabbled with the Iron's in my younger days circa 90 but ended up listening more to Metallica and Slayer, but as I've got older I don't listened to Metallica much at all and lean very much towards Iron maiden an Megadeath.
This is the song Bruce uses to go to each side of the stage to get people on their feet to scream. Right, left, middle...then EVERYONE. Maiden shows are the best!

Indeed, I mentioned Clive after the recording. She was so happy and enjoying the vid I didn't want to bring her down in the middle of it. When she said "the drummer is really good" I almost lost it
That long note Bruce does goes up at the end, a massive injection of energy live. Notice how the music paces like a man paces in his cell? Also the length of the notes and sections in the song represent how time slows down when you're in a cell with your thoughts. Number of the Beast early lives are magnificent as well. I loved this album - still do. Better than majority of new music I've heard. Extreme are coming out with new music at the moment and it that type that 40+ year old would recognise.
Good call on the studio version. Nothing against the 82 Hammersmith version, but to hear that insane long note in the studio version is just another level. Still remember picking the LP up in a used record store and the first time listening through it in 82 or 83. 40 years later, still going strong.

My first Iron Maiden concert was PowerSlave back in 1984. I thank my friend Richard whose brother had THE KILLER album and introduced me to the group ❤
You are both so great and it really takes me back to my youth as i see her joy of discovering metal/hard rock. I like how Alexis mentions "old English" and Edgar Allen Poe. Iron Maiden made me read classic literature, because a lot of their songs are based on such material: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, The Trooper (based off a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson), Murders in the Rue Morgue (Edgar Allen Poe) and other stories/songs. I wanted to know WHY they sung about these stories, so I hu8nted down the source material (way before the internet, kids). And not only did I become an Iron Maiden fan, I fell in love with classic literature along the way. Iron Maiden opened the door for me to Poe, Shakespeare, Dante, Blake, Tennyson, Coleridge and so much more. So, don't buy into "oh, heavy metal is so low brow" comments. Heavy metal (and Iron Maiden) broadened my horizons in ways school couldn't or didn't. There are heavy metal fans....and then there are Iron Maiden fans.
Hey Rick... as an English major, how could I NOT mention those amazing poets!? I am so glad that you were introduced to such phenomenal works. Maiden did a small venue tour post the Seventh Son Stadium tour back in the UK. They had all Stadium energy in a venue that held 1500 people, magical. They kept all the traditions, a 12 foot tall Eddie and the whole crew came out to sing, filled the stage. Sore neck, no voice, muffled hearing, all wped out by attending the back stage drinks afterwards, one of the best nights of my life.
I saw Iron Maiden play Day On The Green in '82 w/ Scorpions - it was INSANE! I think you guys should review Rime of the Ancient Mariner next...it's a masterpiece lyrically & in performance...preferably earlier performance.

Iron Maiden shows are Epic Legendary I've been to a lot of them. My favorite band, but each of these songs are stories they all connect. Hallowed Be Thy Name, Children Of The Damned, The Prisoner etc etc. I love Iron Maiden
'Song structure and long instrumental breaks perfectly represent the prisoner's internal emotional landscape AND the time it takes for him to reach the gallows and exit this world. Love this song, love 'Maiden, thanks for sharing! 🤘💙
This is one the best songs in early metal. There's a version of this song done by many other artists. Cradle of filth does a version, machinehead does a good one but my favorite, is by a band called Solitude Aeturnus. Done in 1998, the version is punchy, and the vocals from Robert Lowe are so good. Robert went on in the 2000's to do a couple amazing Candlemass albums. Highly recommend. Really hard to find a hard copy these days.

Steve Harris (bassist) is a brilliant composer and writer.
Great pick!
I saw Iron Maiden play Day On The Green in '82 w/ Scorpions - it was INSANE! I think you guys should review Rime of the Ancient Mariner next...it's a masterpiece lyrically & in performance...preferably earlier performance.
I first saw Iron Maiden live opening for UFO in 1979 or 1980. It was the killers album tour. One of the greatest live bands ever. Fun reaction
Unleash the archers has a song called awaking that has a iron maiden-ish sound. Brittany Slayers has an amazing voice
Amazing band.
*Brittany Slays is her stage name. Not Slayers... And that band is amazing!!!
It's why I love Brittney and UtA.
My favorite song off of Apex is The Coward's Way. Second is Apex. 😊
Saw them live in Lakeland FL ‘82 or ‘83. Quiet Riot opened. Crazy good concert!!
"When i would come out of concerts like that, i couldn't move my neck for a week" LoL We've all been there m8. We all had the same experience with that, but we loved it. THIS is the music, THIS is the way we wanted to live. THIS music is SO explosive. THIS music is never going to be topped. Dude i love this channel, and how you promote this to your daughters. Thank you for doing this
Showing your daughter the classics that’s good parenting.. I show my daughter the same.. teaching her awesome music of that era
love this reaction channel.
I saw them in ‘80,’82 and ‘84 they totally kicked ass.
What a great reaction, guys. Love Bruce the beast and Maiden ! xx
You have to show her Rime of the Ancient Mariner from Flight 666.
Great reaction guys. 👊🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I like that you’re listening to studio version first. Nice to get familiar with the song first then enjoy the live version is what I do myself. Omg. I can’tt wait for y’all yo do “One”!!!love Alexis!’ Theory too. She’s probably right! Lol
Bruce always reminds me of a hyperactive child when I see him on stage. Literally running around like crazy all the time. I don’t know how he still manages to sing!
Iron Maiden .. one if not the greatest band on live. They give expirience.
Much better song choice !!! Thanks for doing more Maiden!!!
