I just got an M1 air (the 512gb version you can walk into any apple store and buy) to replace my fully loaded mid-2014 15" Pro and I absolutely love it. It is my favorite computer I've ever owned.
Typing this comment on my mid 2015 MacBook Air, which had its fair share of drops, dents and overall abuse but never has it ever crashed, is heartbreaking because I might even consider upgrading the little beast.
My laptop kinda gave up on me so i finally ordered a MacBooc two days ago, not knowing anything about M1 and stuff. Now i binged basically every video on it on YT and yours are my faves! They give me the infos i want in a way i understand. Now i only have to wait until (at least) December 8th.
i spent almost a week watching m1 macbook air videos prior to buying one, and now that i finally got one, I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED. thank you everyday dad.
I have never EVER bought an Apple product in my life and never thought I would, but Apple absolutely killed it with the new M1 laptops! I ordered the Air M1 base model, and seriously couldn't be more excited!
Whoa... forget the laptop for a second. He took off his hat! And he's a good looking gentleman.... I've never seen him without his hat. Let me just rewind again for a second and then I'll continue watching the video...
Can you make or recommend a video on switching from Windows to Mac? I've been interested in these laptops for a while, and these ones just might drive me to buy! Great vid as always, keep it up!
Well said! The M1's limit of 8GB or 16GB RAM (unified memory), two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports and a maximum of 2TB SSD storage feel a bit restrictive on the MacBook Pro or the Mac mini, but these are exactly the kind of specs we've come to expect on the MacBook Air. The MacBook Air has finally really come into its own. Three times faster, twice the battery and NO FAN?! I think I'm in love! And this M1 is the bottom-end unit. Can you even imagine what the next machines will be like?
I choose the space gray already, because is a more elegant or serious color for me. But I was thinking to buy the silver one because if it’s scratched you can see the real color below and is going to be silver. I suppose I’ll have to be careful. 😁
Space grey is out of this world. Silver has a little edge at looks when the laptop's closed but space grey nails it when you open the laptop and look at the keyboard and the trackpad area. Space grey is also good when the laptop's closed but legendary when its open. I suggest you go for space grey, as it looks a lot elegant.
I’ve been using a 2012 air, and it’s really been showing its age. So glad I held out on upgrading last year, now that the M1 laptops have launched. Just ordered an M1 air w/ 8 cores, 512GB storage, 16GB of RAM. Cant wait! Should receive it by the third week of December.

Hey gary, i was planning on getting the apple silicone pro before we saw the actual computers but i think im going to go for the air now because i can get it earlier and save some money, (i kinda wanted the touch bar but according to everyone its not worth it so i decided to give it up)
I first ordered a MacBook Pro but cancelled it and got the air (which will come a week later now) because after all the reviews and some thinking about it, I realised that I would be wasting my money by buying the Pro. My last MacBook was a Pro and I loved it but the Air just makes more sense this time.
I just bought this MacBook Air, it actually is due to arrive in two days. Because I was watching a lot of videos about the different Macs available now, this popped up today. Have only had an iPad since my Dell laptop died, (never will I stray from Macs again,) so I had to really get updated on the state of Mac computers. I’m very excited for my new MacBook to get here. Your vids were a help to this & if RUclips had suggested this 2 days ago, I’d have spent less time going back & forth on what to buy. Glad to know I prob made the right choice & will be very happy with my purchase. And that brings me to a point I want to make if anyone else is looking now to buy a new Mac & finds this video & chooses the MacBook Air. Amazon has it for $50 less & they do sell AppleCare if you buy that, AppleCare is the same price as at Apple’s website, but the computer is $50 cheaper. For the basic model described in this video. Used that savings to get the Magic Mouse 2 which I really need because I’m all thumbs & so I always disable the trackpads. Was going to just put up with my silly trackpad problem b/c budget is tight, but yay, I didn’t have to.
Same here, wondering as well .. but I feel like the opposite, that the 512gb ssd is a better upgrade for the money, the 8gb should be more than plenty.
@@benjaminbergel6353 macbook air with 16gb ram and 256 gb ssd. This is because with 16gb ram it will 'future proof it' (wouldn't be slow in the future). With the storage you can get a 1tb hard drive cheaper than upgrading it to 512gb ssd on the apple website.
I just received mine and I was first a bit disappointed as things were not as fast as I hoped for. But then I realized that some apps needed some updates and man, this thing just flies!
i’m getting the MacBook Air tomorrow. i’ve never owned an apple laptop before. not to mention, i didn’t realise that i bought the brand new one. i didn’t know anything about the M1 and Intel chips. but anywho. IM SO EXCITED 😆
So the other major concern that many people have expressed about the M1 Macbooks is that they still have the same sub-par 720p front facing camera. Not an issue for me since I don't ever use it, my biggest issue is with bluetooth. My AirPods (Pro and V2) cut out/stutter ever 5-10 minutes. Not an issue with my early 2020 MBA. Many users on Macrumors are complaining about bluetooth issues...disconnects, cutouts, etc. I'm hoping Apple releases a patch for this soon since my return window is shrinking.
Compared the 13" MacBook Air vs. Pro at Costco this week. The Air was the early 2020 model, but the keyboard, I believe is the same for the M1 Air. While the key travel may be the same, the keys on the Air seem almost recessed into the body, where the Pro keys were obviously raised above the body. The typing on the Pro was a much much nicer experience. Any other comments about the the Air and Pro keyboard?
Woah I just booked mine..Ever first Macbook, space grey...So excited to use it after hearing all these great reviews. Love your excitement and detailed information on MacBook Air M1. Amazing video , great work💗😇

And the best part is, your personality is refreshing. I’m subscribing to you right away! Also, I’ve places a few orders of things you use from another video. Keep up the good work! 😂
Rather, it would "appear better", with more cores for cpu and gpu, more battery life, and stuff like that. So I do agree that Apple limited intel chip performance. But that was a bad business move, because those intel mobile cpus are really expensive, but Apple is Apple.
@@MobileFilmmaking I own the 2019 version I had to install an app that disabled intel turbo and it worked wonders in lowering the temperatures, it runs at around 30-40 when I’m on safari with multiple tabs, before it would go up to 60 forcing the fan to turn on
For those curious, the 7-core integrated GPU in the M1 chip matches the GTX 1050ti. And the higher variant having the 8-core integrated GPU, it almost equals the GTX 1650. So don't fall for those notebooks with discrete graphics such as "MX350".
As of the moment any daws other then logic can not run it even with Rosetta 2, so if you buy it either it’s cuz u use logic or your willing to wait on the other softwares to release an arm version
Damn you. I'm one of the unfortunate few who bought the 13" MacBook Pro earlier this year (higher end Intel 10 model) and have been kicking myself watching all the great M1 videos. Yo, I need an air for school work and stuff like MS office, zoom, ms teams, spotify, chrome safari, a bit of minor gaming, discord etc. do u think that 8GB will be enough or do u think im gonna need to get the 16gb, since im thinking of upgrading from my 4gb 128gb dual core 2014 mac air, which slows down too often. do u think im gonna need 16 gigs or will 8 be enough?
I sold my MBP 16" for the M1 MBA with 512gb storage. I am amazed by it!!!
Because of you I got a 13 MBP. So far it’s ticking the boxes. It has magic pixie stuff that is doing stuff beyond the benchmarks.
My air will arrive on 10 Dec...
And by looking all these videos dying for it
I just got an M1 air (the 512gb version you can walk into any apple store and buy) to replace my fully loaded mid-2014 15" Pro and I absolutely love it. It is my favorite computer I've ever owned.
the 8 core one? With 8 gigs of ram?
Finally! A laptot from Apple I am willing to buy! The first one in 5 years! Almost got me with the 16 inch one, though!
Typing this comment on my mid 2015 MacBook Air, which had its fair share of drops, dents and overall abuse but never has it ever crashed, is heartbreaking because I might even consider upgrading the little beast.
I wish apple had Amazon class shipping
Buy them on Amazon, problem solved! 🤷♂️

I’m going from an iPad to a MacBook Air. I’m so excited.
"spent hours and hours" bro you could've just told the number of hours the battery lasted.
Good thing I ordered one. 16GB, 512ssd. Can't wait! Good Videos, keep it UP!
Got the same ,cant wait its taking forever to arrive :(
My only concern is the screen brightness is it as bright as previous MacBook Pros
PC user switching to my first Mac, 16G 1T M1, cant wait to get my hands on it!!!
i spent almost a week watching m1 macbook air videos prior to buying one, and now that i finally got one, I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED. thank you everyday dad.
This air is amazing, the fanless design makes it better than pro imo and apple is going to re design it and give it more power with future m2 and m3
I have never EVER bought an Apple product in my life and never thought I would, but Apple absolutely killed it with the new M1 laptops! I ordered the Air M1 base model, and seriously couldn't be more excited!
It’s “fan-less”-tastic! 😉
Whoa... forget the laptop for a second. He took off his hat! And he's a good looking gentleman.... I've never seen him without his hat. Let me just rewind again for a second and then I'll continue watching the video...
In which scenario would you recommend someone to upgrade from the 7 core GPU to the 8 core GPU?
When rendering vid
Just ordered the MBA for £898. It would be my first ever mac! Can't wait.
You'll never look back!
I am very indecisive. Which color should I choose? Silver or space gray? 🤯
Macbook: Doesn't loose any battery when its closed
My laptop: looses 1 percent every second even on charge : (
(btw I ordered MBP and it'll be arriving soon, will edit this comment with my review) :P
Congrats and welcome to the gang.

@@soda-cr1pn 8GB is enough since Apple's new member is quite fast. You don't need 16gigs of ram unless you run android/ iOS emulators, edit videos all day and play games all the time.

If you can get the 16gb, it’ll future proof you, since Macs last a long time.....
@@scubasteve1555 Yes true!
But if all you're gonna do is watch Netflix and edit presentations, then I don't think it's worth it
Im usually a MBP 13 person too!! The fact that i just brought an Air 13 I was nervous but so so very glad i i did!
Where u got the better WoW experience? 16" with the graphics or the M1? Askin for myself ,greetings from Germany, im a huge fan :)
Cant wait for my new air! I was dead set on a pro but the savings and performance of the air is insane
Hey gary, i was planning on getting the apple silicone pro before we saw the actual computers but i think im going to go for the air now because i can get it earlier and save some money, (i kinda wanted the touch bar but according to everyone its not worth it so i decided to give it up)
same!!!
Same feeling
I first ordered a MacBook Pro but cancelled it and got the air (which will come a week later now) because after all the reviews and some thinking about it, I realised that I would be wasting my money by buying the Pro. My last MacBook was a Pro and I loved it but the Air just makes more sense this time.
I can't wait for my Air to arrive...
You're making me really hate my 2020 MBA i5 Intel. :(

Bought my Macbook Air M1 a month ago and no regrets. Love everything including the keyboards and battery life 🥰. Kudos!
Hey there Daaad 😆. What external display would you recommend for this new MBA? (Mainly working with Lightroom/video editing)

Jesus Christ! I thought that I was the only one that remember that line xD
watching the unboxings and ratings until i get my macbook air...so excited!!
Which macbook air;
8gb ram with 512gb ssd or
16gb ram with 256gb ssd?
(I'm an accounting and finance student and need something to last for 4 years)
16 gb ram
Same here, wondering as well .. but I feel like the opposite, that the 512gb ssd is a better upgrade for the money, the 8gb should be more than plenty.
Would you say the 3 year apple care is worth getting?
@@bilalwaleed8794 I do not know how much that costs, I am not from the US. Also, have you decided on which version of MBA you gonna get?
@@benjaminbergel6353 macbook air with 16gb ram and 256 gb ssd. This is because with 16gb ram it will 'future proof it' (wouldn't be slow in the future). With the storage you can get a 1tb hard drive cheaper than upgrading it to 512gb ssd on the apple website.
got my macbook pro m1 2 days ago will never look back
I just love your videos. They are very informative & engaging. I always w8 for your Reviews

How did it go
i’m getting the MacBook Air tomorrow. i’ve never owned an apple laptop before. not to
mention, i didn’t realise that i bought the brand new one. i didn’t know anything about the M1 and Intel chips. but anywho.
IM SO EXCITED 😆
This time next year, “Here’s the release with bezels that smoke the XPS”... 😧
Fingers crossed
So the other major concern that many people have expressed about the M1 Macbooks is that they still have the same sub-par 720p front facing camera. Not an issue for me since I don't ever use it, my biggest issue is with bluetooth. My AirPods (Pro and V2) cut out/stutter ever 5-10 minutes. Not an issue with my early 2020 MBA. Many users on Macrumors are complaining about bluetooth issues...disconnects, cutouts, etc. I'm hoping Apple releases a patch for this soon since my return window is shrinking.
Make a video about M1 Mini 16GB if its able to handle 4K multi cam without jittering ?
I don't think we have anybody else watching your video and this channel or caring about m1 macs 😅😂
@c a i t l y n lol i meant no harm at all. It was just a response to @soamjena in good faith. looks like it came out bad lol
I have a MacBook Pro 2017 now, it's getting rather old and has the sleep/wake issue. Im getting the air on Monday and I'm soooooooooo excited!
Please compare it to the xps 13. ik mac will win but i want to know by how much.
@@PPLRRN yes the R7 and R9 are really powerful. I love those chips
Any other comments about the the Air and Pro keyboard?
i am learning front end web development and do very light 3d modeling. will the base model work for me?
oh yes.

I’ve only watched two of your videos 🙄 and I must say, I don’t know why I only stumbled upon them now. And the best part is, your personality is refreshing. I’m subscribing to you right away!
Also, I’ve places a few orders of things you use from another video. Keep up the good work! 😂
I feel like Apple deliberately made the Intel based mac's throttle so that when they released the the new chip it would work plenty better
really? 😞 then compare it to a windows laptop. Are they throttling as well? 😤 These run circles around everything in its price range
Rather, it would "appear better", with more cores for cpu and gpu, more battery life, and stuff like that. So I do agree that Apple limited intel chip performance. But that was a bad business move, because those intel mobile cpus are really expensive, but Apple is Apple.
@@MobileFilmmaking I own the 2019 version
I had to install an app that disabled intel turbo and it worked wonders in lowering the temperatures, it runs at around 30-40 when I’m on safari with multiple tabs, before it would go up to 60 forcing the fan to turn on
For those curious, the 7-core integrated GPU in the M1 chip matches the GTX 1050ti. And the higher variant having the 8-core integrated GPU, it almost equals the GTX 1650. So don't fall for those notebooks with discrete graphics such as "MX350".

Damn you. I'm one of the unfortunate few who bought the 13" MacBook Pro earlier this year (higher end Intel 10 model) and have been kicking myself watching all the great M1 videos. Your video made me go out and get a MacBook Air 'just for the hell of it'. It is amazing as you said. The battery life is just insane. I plan to use it for my "casual" computer and use the MBP (still a decent computer) for the more intensive stuff.
I have seriously watched all your videos of the M1 MacBook Air. Thanks a lot for these as these are legit 'practical demonstrations' and not just bench scores. Gonna get mine next month. Thank you for this! It'll be my first ever MacBook.
