You can scroll horizontally with any mice by holding shift and then scrolling. Saved me a lot of time figuring that out a bit back :)

Awesome tip, just tried this on Windows 10 in Chrome on web page. First I though it did not work because there was nothing to scroll to. Did not work in Excel which would be nice. Vertical scrolling in Excel does work.

Thank You Gary for helping me convince myself what I need. I've been using a refurbished 2011 mini-mac (even watching you on it now) and ipad for over 8 years and it's time to upgrade. I'd go with the MacBook Air, but I've learned, apparently I don't upgrade often, and I think the Pro 13 may last me the next 10 years worth of "not having to upgrade yet"... hopefully.
I picked up my M1 MacBook Pro yesterday! I have never owned a Apple computer.. and wow! This thing is snappy! Cant wait to get some accessories for it 😁

Thank you for a GREAT detailed video of the M1. Best overview I’ve seen thus far. I had to make a hard choice to finally get a new MacBook Pro as my current one is mid 2012 and yeah...2020 was done with that. So my new one arrives this 2/1/2021. I had read that some people had the Caldigit TS3 getting very hot and that some had switched over to the new Anker Docking Station, Power Expand Elite 13-in-1 Thunderbolt 3 Dock, so I got that and will see how it all connects up. It costs the same as the Caldigit. I AM interested in getting a travel multi-port hub and need it to have Ethernet cability so that’s made me take my time.

One of the main reasons why I use a laptop is for presentations. Good to know that I don’t really have to worry about ports if I just get an adaptor, especially for HDMI. Better still that it don’t need to drop the extra cash just till have one on the computer either. Saves me the hundred dollars!
The Satechi 100W USB-C PD Compact GaN Charger had been a game changer for me. Power for a MacBook and iPad Pro, plus iPhone or other accessories, and not too big. They make other versions but I think this is the “Goldilocks” version.

Would it be best to upgrade to the 16 gb memory and would you recommend 516 ssd storage and buy external hardrive or again upgrade to 1T drive and add external later? Thank you.
I do like a heavy duty sleeve with a pouch for extras like wires, so I can throw it into any bag.
I don't currently have a favourite but theres some good ones through amazon.

Before the M1 came out I was thinking of getting the higher end 13 inch MacBook Pro with the 4 ports. Do you think there is any reason to wait for the 4 port version of the M1, or just go with the M1 that was just released?

I've got the new M1 MacBook Air and also have the Logitech MX Master 3. But I can't get Logitech options to program the buttons properly, I'm just stuck with basic move and point. I can't even get the scroll wheel to work... It has previously, and still does work fine on my 2020 intel MacBook Pro. Have you been able to get it to function fully on M1? I would love some help if so. Thanks
How does the book arc thing work with a MacBook Air? I’m mostly concerned about overheating with the air since there’s no fan. I am specifically asking about the new M1 air.
I seen dual link docks working with the new MacBook Air/Pro with the M1 chip, to actually give you dual monitor. I recommend this Cal digit dock too. It’s great. But I personally don’t have it to test it. Can you? Trial and error and confirm whether it can work without a dual link dock like from targus?

Just bought a M1 Mac Air 13 and was a bit confused with how to access the Thunderbolt ports. None of my adaptors worked. I spent days trying to find something relevant on line and finally bought a device that plugs into the two side ports. So I'm waiting on the postie...but in the meantime, I'm enjoying your videos and may have to circle back if I backed a dud. Thanks.

I have the Logitech MX Master 3, MX Keys (+ Palm Rest) for my 16“ MBP and they are great! :) Also had the 1. Gen. MX Master, but the MX Master 3 is a huge improvement to the MX Master 1. Gen., which already was great. :)
This is my first MX mouse and its easily the best mouse I've ever used.
Found this joyroom “dongle” accessory that attaches to any 4 port MacBook and elevates the laptop. When not in use it collapses and magnetically clings together for easy pack grab strorage. Very cool, fidgety, device.

The CalDigit TS3 Plus Thunderbolt 3 Dock looks very good but high cost and uses a proprietary DC power in rather than USB C. Am I missing something? is there another recommended model with USB C in for power?

My MacBookpro M1 with Big Sur won’t work with my T7 Ssd, even after updating the software. Does yours still work? And if so, any advice? A lot of what I read online says they don’t work with Big Sur

Hello I bought the Samsung T7 touch bases on your recommendation but it does not work. It does not connect. You can save files in it but can’t access the security part of it. Have you connect yours?
The only thing I don't like about most aftermarket compact chargers is the prongs don't fold in like the Apple one. From the video here it looks like the RavPower does fold so that's a plus. I would say I like the Apple one more because you can put the extension cable on it but with M1 you don't need to be plugged in. The 65w is combined power with both the USB-C and USB-A ports. They sell the same one without the USB-A port rated for 61w so I suspect the USB-C port on this model is also 61w . It's still plenty for the M1 MacBook Pro and it even comes in white
FYI from experience the magic keyboard is worth the money due to reliability of connectivity, battery life and convenience to name a few. I’ve tried 3rd party keyboards and they don’t compare!

try g915/ tkl I think you will like it as it's a mechanical keyboard but has low profile switches... the price is kinda hefty but I think it's quite good with its lightspeed/bluetooth wireless
so for the cal digit link it says in the description on amazon it says under the "compatible" section PC but nothing about Mac or the M1 models, so does it work with an M1 mac or is it only compatible with a PC? Just need to know because my M1 MacBook pro is estimated to arrive on the 15th

I have a problem with my Samsung T7. It can't recognize the harddrive with the fingerprint on my MacBook Pro M1. I think it has something to do with the M1 chip. It works fine on intel Macs. But with my m1 I have to disable the fingerprint or password before getting it to work. You have any tips on this to get it working on M1?

The only thing that sucks is the 2 usb c to usb a won’t fit both of them in at the same time. And yes I know the dongle will fix that situation but I won’t ever use every other port that comes on a dongle either

4:50 literally every mouse ever with a scroll wheel can do this while holding shift. Been that way for at least 15 years maybe longer.
