    Back in the old days you had to add that flex attitude to everything because they didn't really have a very flexible paint. Nice to think that you would do the extra on these to make them last a bit longer. Good thing to think about. Love the kapci stuff so far

    Hey Tony, great video as always and the live chat was fun and informative but I didn't think there were so many on the chat last night mate🤔
    The WS400 looked like it laid the direct gloss really well and adding a coat of clear added to the protection and made it look even better, I don't have the need for flex additive for what I do but maybe Gav can tell you if you can use it in the Kapci 670 basecoat.
    I was going to ask you if I can use the 6030 hardener in direct gloss but you said you did that in the video, I have a couple of Kapci 2k gloss tinters so want to mix them and give it a try, cheers Tony and thanks for doing these videos👌🙏👍

    I don't know anybody around here who sells the direct gloss kapci but it would sure be nice to try.

    Speed seems nice, not as much of a cannon as the sata gun. Not as low as a graco finex.
    I like that gun.

    That kapci really likes to sit for a few days before you polish it I did notice that.

    Can flexing additive be used on steel parts, like bonnets or wings in order to prevent chips? Will flexing additive make clear soft or just flexible?

    I've not used flex additive for years , i bought some when i was doing custom work many years ago but on day to day bumper i don't . I do use flexible filler tho good stuff.

    What is recommended for a Good flexible primer sealer for plastic bumpers? I have the Seymour PBE Flexible Primer and SEM Flexible Primer Surfacer and they work GREAT! but im looking for Primer Sealers out of a can that I can use next... Either a 1k or 2k but definitely prefer a 2k can that either is activated by moisture in the air, or has a 2 part chamber system inside the can... Any recommendations!

    Is the flex additive safe to use on virgin plastics? Not gonna react or flake off?

    Do you have any issues with static electricity painting bumpers by them self? I see a big push for anti static guns which are quiet expensive.

    You seem to be saying you can't add flex additives to normal base coat. Is this right? Only asking coz you seem to be making a special point about using gloss.

    • @TonysRefinishingTV
      @TonysRefinishingTV  Год назад +1

      I used gloss on this because it was easier to do mate , some you may be able to add to base but this one doesn’t say so on the tds so rather than risk just using it in the primer and clear I went for gloss to put it in all layers

    Your fan spray is far too wide!!! This wastes expensive paint and you are recoating everything far too many times. Arm labor fatigue would set in before you even painted a whole car. 😂 Turn that fan spray down to 10 inches and slow your arm speed down. Paint should only be 2-3 millimeters thick. You need to have a junk test panel in your booth as well so you can adjust paint gun on it. Far too much paint is going in those filters, which can cause serious fire hazard. I also recommend turning the fan spray and pressure down and trim out all the edges first, do half trigger squeezes. Then set it for a nice smooth top coat.
