I was genuinely surprised, as you may hear in my voice, I have been using both over the last few days to try them out, the series 1 with the cap at an angle as in video 2, it's too early tell but initially they seem to spray the same, which is very very well, appreciate the comment 👍

    Hi Pete - Please contact us as this isn't how the Series 2 should perform! We're here to help! (Can you provide some insight on the clearcoat used? Also try applying more material when conducting the spray out this will fill the pattern correctly - Also double check the gun set up?) There will always be slight differences in performance, but not like this! lets get this sorted!

      Hi there, I have another video i have upload that has the "fix" for this, I think my problem was the tip wasn't tight enough to get the 90°, but, as I said in my instergram reply, this seems too tight and is certainly way in excess of the 4nm that is advised in the instructions, it's certainly far more than i would normally do any other Iwata gun's I have which spray fine.
      You say the tip doesn't have to be spot on but if it's a little out, as in the first video with the air horns at at 90° each from the top the pattern separates.
      I realise that with production tolerances not every one will be exactly the same but something that is clearly critical to a good pattern should perhaps be more stringently monitored.
      I have also done the same to a series1, that has transformed the gun and now sprays a consistent uniform pattern on full fluid and full fan for the first time in it's life, I'll leave you to watch the video, thanks for taking the time to assist with this 👍

    Hi Pete great video as always mate! I can’t help but feel disappointed with what you have found here, I especially hate the idea that the parts between the MK1 and MK2 aren’t interchangeable with them being only slightly different, as this is intended to fix the original issue of having an even amount of product on full fan and finding that the issue is still there is well I wouldn’t be happy with it, I know it’s an easy fix with fan control, but I don’t think it’s asking for much maybe it’s different with base I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ anyway mate good video as always. Thanks Steve, I was a bit taken aback to be honest, i was sure it would be fine so i was as surprised as anyone, that slowly turning to annoyance, someone just put a comment saying they have the series 2 base and clear and they are fine, 2 bar, full fan and fluid perfect pattern so I'm asking what clear they use as it could be the viscosity, the thicker the product the less it will split, that's what normally happens although all my other guns work fine regardless but I'm keen to find out why it's doing what it is, cheers mate 👍

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  4 месяца назад

      Hi Lee, The WS is not a particularly good base coat gun. It has bigger air holes in the tip, which tends to make it put basecoat on a little dry. It's better for waterbourn paints, but the LS is better anyway.
      When Iwata originally bought out the WS400 around 14 years ago, they used the same gun and just labelled them base and clear, they then had to modify the base version with smaller air holes in the tip as everyone was complaining of dry spray on the one labeled base.
      Hope that helps 👍
