It's super duper nice to see some direct gloss applied, I paint rowing boats and it might be one of the very rare content I've seen that also use direct gloss. I've bought the WS400 and will probably use it for the first time next week
Looking forward to the big review. I was told we won’t be able to get them until November here in the States.
Really enjoyed the Video Tony, my 1st customer who tested the WS400 clear said "I feel like I'm actually painting again, I could watch it lay product on the panel and just went with the flow!" He was a hard core user of a different brand and now only uses Anest Iwata having bought the full range from Lph80 up on the same day! Can't wait to see your full review of the SR2 range.
Right on mate and ive always been a huge iwata fan tbh try to mix it up on the channel for everyone but these and sata are by far my preferred brands
Well pleased with mine Andy glad I purchased them through you getting some cracking finishies
@@markcooper1947 nice one Mark! Was a pleasure meeting you, glad you are finding them a worth while investment.
Thanks for the video. I have the ls400 and lph400. Both great guns.
Hope to get my hands on a new one.
I'm probably about 100 jobs deep with my series 2's and have found definite improvements. For many the straight out of the box, no - fiddle set up will make the biggest difference. Overall I've found the WS to be a small but worthwhile improvement over the previous version, but the LS is MUCH better than the old one. Surprising given how good I thought that was. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it too.
Hi just a quick one, dose the new version still go through loads of air consumption like the old version ws400? Thanks
@@kingvtec100 According to the specs they use the same amount as the old ones. Can't say I've noticed any difference myself.
@@AndyTaylor_Paintguy thank m8 just wondered as i have the old ws400 but it eats up the air
been using the ls alot today myself have to agree there its an animal
In what ways have you found the new LS to be much better that the old one? Just very interested in hearing your thoughts on this before I consider upgrading. Thanx in advance
Seems to be steady while laying down the paint. Would be good to see how it works over time.
Thanks for the vid bro. Man I would love to get my hands on these new iwatas. I too am a huge iwata fan and I’ve always been in love with the supernova line. I have the ls400 but I want them all definitely the ws clear. I’ve never seen a better finish and ease of use from a clear coat gun.
the laydown looks lovely on that tony, good thing is if you feel you need to speed it up can always wind it in a bit now with that fan sorted but your speed doesn’t look slow on the vid mate looks a cracking gun 👍👍👍
have to say the ls and ws mate are very nice compared to the older ones
Hey I watched one of your videos last night and you mentioned about spraying base at around 1 bar and that you don't need to go really any higher and I was in the past having issues with my silvers so I tried dropping the pressure and it worked the job come out super clean as well compared to what I get normally so that helped me a lot Thank you
Hey Ivan your more than welcome mate I’m glad it helped buddy
Hi Tony thanks for this initial video of the new series2 spray gun. I have the spray gun ws400 series2 also for about a week now and been putting it through its phases. Just like what you notice it felt slower than the first one. I think what is happening is that sprays the material so even across the pattern and just got used to using the older one. The older one force you to move faster since it's just heavy in the center for winding the fan in to correct the splitting pattern. So I am thinking of getting the 1.4 tip to speed it up but before that I tried spraying a little closer and I get the speed back from the old one. I guess I don't need a size up after all. What I notice too on series 2 is I am spraying at a lower pressure at 1.3-1.4 bar from the older one around 1.7-1.8 bar. That is giving me around 20% material saving. Looking forward to what do you think.
I also run mine at abt 1.5bar. Find that is all you need and still atomisies as good
Can you Made a Video of Setup the pressure on the Digital Version
nice work mate so in hotter conditions the 1.4 would be more suitable hey , cant even buy one in australia
Awesome video Tony that gun is a bomb the speed is spot on and the gun putting the paint on Tony I really enjoyed that video and thanks for the info about the kiwami because I thought it was the replacement for the w400 gun much love enjoy your afternoon buddy and keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯👌👌👌
your welcome mate hope you are well fella
I use both LS and WS everyday at work Looking forward to the reviews on the series 2
Coming soon buddy
Nice video!!!!you spray-ed solvent basecoat with the ws400 obs gun?
Nice one brother really warming to the banter on the lives 👍👍👍
All good my friend. Thanks for asking
@@kandyman5315 great to hear all is good over the pond bro
great to have you with us man for the live and nice to see you finally get a friday night to relax
@@TonysRefinishingTV And that I did bro had a few beers an indian and a full 8hrs kip great 👍👍👍👍👍
Mind you tony mate woke up with a Johnny cash (burning ring of fire )🤣🤣🤣🤪
Yeah, that's hot over there alright. It's been hot here too but add high humidity and it's a miserable booth experience. We don't shut down though, just soldier on. I almost bought a new series 1 yesterday until I saw your Sagola 4600 video. Ended up going with that. Good thing I guess seeing how the series 2 has some improvements. Thanks for the info. Stay cool.
Your welcome Chris and that’s a lovely gun too mate
@@TonysRefinishingTV
It's going to get a test drive next week on a black 68 F100. Cooling off here next week too so that should help things.
I was recommended the LS400 for base and WS400 for clear. iwata posted a video on using the ws400 base gun. is the ws400 not meant just for clear?
Are the air caps interchangeable?
Which one of this would be best for spraying lacquer on wood cabinets? And where can I buy it in the US? From the new iwata guns that is coming out.
Good vid Tony, i'm still using my 2 series and can't really comment on it yet i probably need a big job in to really test its ability .
Let me know how you get on mate
Dig the video, based on your advice I picked up a 5500 rp 1.2 what a cracking gun it is. Pete's hobbies has done a couple videos on the series 2 including some data that might be helpful to you about its setup. There's been a little controversy which iwata commented on you might find interesting. Love the content thank you.
Hey Mike thanks man tbh I’m not getting involved I’ve seen what’s been posted and tbh I don’t agree quite the opposite tbh from what I’ve found with them so far
@@TonysRefinishingTV all good man I love your channel it's the best by far from the perspective of an amateur who wishes he was a pro like you. Cheers
Excellent video very interesting thanks Tony.
Your welcome Doug
Okay I'm trying to buy the gun that you sent the link but the problem is does it actually work because it only says only in UK anything out from the UK it will be refund so how can I have my hands on one but I want the digital
Hey Tony, How do you feel about the Plastic cups vs a Aluminum? Do you mind the Plastic?
Another great job Tony. Unfortunately, I am a DIY'er with no budget for high end guns. I am getting pretty good results with the Devilbiss SLG5 gun though. Just a thought, the Walcom guns seem to be a thing of the past now, and not the best thing since sliced bread any more, which makes me kinda glad I didn't have the money to buy one in the first place. I think it stresses the point that there are so many good guns out there it is really down to personal preference at the end of the day.
the walcoms are exceptional guns mate just very overspriced now tbh they have had a large increase and even back then i did say for me these were the ones i was waiting for
Thanks for the video
Hi kandy man you good bro ??
my pleasure mate
Great video looking forward to the next
Coming soon!
Do you know if Sr2 will be available in the US anytime soon?
Nice video tony very well explained cheers a super like from me 😂
Glad you enjoyed it
Heatwave was England, not Uk. It was only 14c in the West of Scotland.
ok well if were being picky then yeah England and wales
Hey Tony, great video mate very informative without being a full blown review as it's early days for you with the gun. I do like the digital gauge in the handle and the way they have made it easy to remove is really nice and unlike my DV1 the battery is easy to remove, from what I've seen there is an O-ring in the handle that seals it when the gauge is fitted do you think it could be a failure problem down the line?
It looks like it's really easy to use and it laid the 2K gloss down really flat so should be a great clearcoat gun, I was really close to getting one but as you know I had to replace my compressor as it was playing up yet again so it's no good getting a new gun then can't afford a compressor.
Great premier and live chat as always mate and there seemed to be quite a few on there last night, thanks for doing the video Tony🙏🙏👍
yeah the gauge idea is brilliant tbh mate alot better than most ive seen yet but i think that was done for a reason they really took peoples issues into account with this and nailed it
Makes a change for a major company to take note of their customers, looking forward to the full review.
Looking to purchase and can’t find one, if could please let me know where to buy that would be much appreciated. Thank you much
depends what country your in mate there not out eveywhere yet
Have you ever used one of the more budget guns called "Astro Europro EVO-T13". They say 15-19psi (1 - 1.3bar)? I tried that pressure but I actually got better atomization on 2bar. I'd like to hear your opinion on it.
Was wondering if you thought they are any good? $500-600 is a bit much for me.
I haven’t I’m afraid mate it’s not one I’ve heard of tbh
We been 106 degrees in Texas. Hard to do anything. Lol🥵🔥🔥🔥
man i dont envy you working in that
@@TonysRefinishingTV extra slow everything. Lol. & filler in the fridge.
Hi Tony! Thanks for sharing your first thoughts on the new gun. We look forward to your full review. 🙂

No problem thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment guys
Price ? Please anest
Looks like DV1 speed
By any chance does anyone know how these digital gauges last? Do the batteries die often? I’ve never bought a gun with a digital guage and was considering it.
ive had these a while now there still good but the battery is fully replaceable and very easy to do yourself it was made that way on purpose
Can you ship the coveralls to USA?
Worldwide mate yes
at 7:14 you mention that on the original gun the fan is top and bottom heavy and to start at closed then open 1 3/4 and then the fan would be perfect however the fan seems to be very msmall, Am I getting good atomization on this Original gun at 1 3/4 opn on the fan?
Again we’re talking about different guns mate I’m trying my best to help here but your not understanding , you have the w400 bellairia yes ? Then it is full fan
@@TonysRefinishingTV yes and yes I am confused. which gun do you refer to as top and bottom heavy at full fan. That should settle my ignorance
The WS400 series one iwata supernova not your w400 bellairia
I spend all my time trying to get peely finnishes that are still shiny. Like OEM.
That gun looks slow.
Oem is easy enough I just go 50% on my overlap , and no it’s not
Sorry but I didn’t see any better than original . Same story with old Belaria snd new Kiwami Belaria… But what i see that Iwata invest some money to many bloggers around internet for advertise this ‘new’ model….
Very ignorant comment there tbh iwata have invested nothing into me for this video or have they ever , these are demo guns I don’t get to keep these just test and review if I like , new to old the ws ls and obs are big improvements in a lot of ways , and there’s a reason it’s not a bellairia series 2 as it’s not a replacement for a bellairia nor is it as good , have a good day
@@TonysRefinishingTV Nothing personal my friend. I judge by your own videos where you said a couple of years ago how good WS 400 is... After that Sata 5500 way better. Next was Sagola 4600 and the last one Walom Best of the Best... And , today WS 400 again big improvement. So, please explain what is the really better? About Kiwami belaria Iwata advertise new air valve but Pete has air leaks after 3 month of easy usage... The new Iwatas WS and IS even looks very ugly...but now digital gauge!!! Omg improvement here
👍👍
