Thanks for this. So far you're the only American that's reviewing this gun. Was starting to think it was a dud. That even run was incredible I've never seen anything like that before.
Hi I have just subscribe to your channel iam interested in spraying car parts that's great when you put the settings on really helps people out who are just setting out
I do have the series 2 base coat gun, it also sprays exceptionally well. The air cap on the base coat ws400 series 2 is practically identical to the clear version, the needle is exactly the same and the only major difference is the nozzle. The nozzle on the ws400 base coat gun has smaller orfice which allow a lower fluid delivery rate than the clear version. Hope this helps.
Hi Joe, what is the cfm for the intake and outtake fans and rough size of your booth? The extraction is real nice. Semi down draft booth ? Thanks in advance 😀
It’s 12.5 x 22 feet and 9 foot high, it’s a reverse flow semi downdraft. It’s custom made for my shop by merchant 1 manufacturing out of North Carolina. 30 inch fan with 2 HP motor, really happy I didn’t go with the 3 HP motor. It has a lot of extraction power which is great for waterborne paint but not so good for clearcoat. For clear, too much airflow causes the surface to dry too fast. So, too much airflow is not a good thing necessarily.
Every clear is different, the one I used is a uhs clear around 56% solids, super thick stuff. Air temperature was about 60 degrees , I mix it 2:1 with 5 percent reducer , the reducer I use is a medium speed and the hardener for the clear was also a medium. Hope this helps. I have a lot of air movement in my booth, so using a slower approach to the finish is better. Normally you would use a fast hardener and reducer , however, the slower you go with the chemicals, the better the flow , the better the finish.
I don't want glass. I want speed and oem peel. Iwata is glass smooth or nothing and slow. Sagola 4600 and sata 5500 O here. Looks like you are painting in the managers office.
@@riccocool I have about 20 different spray guns I think I understand what orange peel and matching factory finishes. Iwata the most glass like finish in my opinion.
Thanks, the fluid was wide open, this is how I usually spray with my 5500 with 1.3 0 nozzle, which of you are familiar with Sata , the rp versions of the tip are larger than what they state. This was my first time so was watching what the gun did, how much air it used, etc. I got the 1.4HD which fits my spray style better.

@@mrcorollaVA1 so your 30" 2hp fan is at your door end, do you have a similar fan pushing air from the top ? Thanks
@@Vdubba correct, hence the Reverse flow. No other fan pushing air in.
❤❤❤😮😊
26 is about max pressure I go on iwata series 2 full fan 3-6 inches 90% overlap spies 8180
You forgot to mention the ratios of clear, and it the temperature of reducer, not temperature of Booth. Other than that...

Ognuno dice la sua ma in realtà quello che conta è il risultato finale.
