Have you ever had problems with the tar grease remover on plastic? Have you used epoxy directly over the factory plastic primer? How do I know if I have Lacquer or Urethane primer is there a simple way to test it? Is 1k bonding primer ok to use directly over plastic parts without adhesion promoter? Should I mount the part before spraying it to avoid cracking and scuffing installing it? You will trap sand in the plastic and leave trails or tracks in the part. If the part is already primed you could sand it with 800 grit but most do not because the primer is so thin it will cut through in a heartbeat. Some Major shops don't scuff or sand they shoot right over it but I have had parts come back because of cracking and lifting because I didn't. Just my opinion though.
Scuffing means pretty much the same as sanding. When you hear scuff it's cause there using a scotch-brite pad. The steps I do when dealing with plastic parts is wash them with warm water and soap. Then after that I use a scuffing gel and a grey scotch-brite pad cause it's finer then the red one.
Adding the sealer AFTER the adhesion promoter doesn't defeat the purpose of the first one? Why you need to seal after the adhesion promoter? Car paint needs to be painted OVER a sealed plastic part? Again thanks in advance for the response. Noob here hungry to learn this this cool skill/ job.
The sealer will help you with the paint this is a black piece and if I will add paint directly it will be fine but I will waist a lot of paint so the sealer helps me hide the black quicker
I had to strip 3 paint jobs worth of paint from the plastic parts on my 96 Camaro, used 180 grit but will need to go back with 320+ grit to even it out. So if I treat it like new plastic and follow these steps, I should be good right?

(1) scotch brite what grit was you using as some would say use grey scotch brite on raw plastic i have used both and perfer red scotch pad that you used in this video (2) also if you was scuffing a panal which has got clear already so you could spray base or clear what colour scotch pad grey or red (3) when you put sealer on what was the size of nozal (4) what was the tepertchre so i know the flashing off time inbetween thank you once again cant wait for you next video take care

(2)and if the panel has clear go with 600 grit sandpaper don't use a scotch brite I usually wet sand with 400 and move to 600 before painting. (3)and the needle tip was 1.3 I found out that works best (4)the temp. was at 95 degrees
Have you tried the White Forever Sealer from Tamco?Also I know its temperature depend but how long did you wait between coats on the clear?Sorry one more question.Was the sealer urethane polyester or epoxy and why no reducing? Thank you very much. Great video.

Hi I noticed you used the same gun on the sealer and basecoat and clear .Did you do a thorough cleaning on the gun between material changes or what did you do?Also on the sealer and basecoat you were at 29PSI but on the clear you were at 35 PSI . How did you figure the change in PSI?

Hi, Sorry to keep on asking questions about guns but it’s the only way to get an overview of things by asking guys like you what their opinions, likes and dislikes are. So anyway I recently asked you about the Slim Kombat from Walcom and you were highly impressed even when up against the “giants” such as LS400 and DV1 base. Do what is your honest opinion of the HTE Carbonio bass gun. Is it even better than the Dlim Kombat or only marginally so. Is it actually better than the LS400 which I can see you use a lot. Do you still have the HTE or had it been relegated because it’s not really up there. Just trying to find the ideal base gun for a colder climate using solvent base in a workshop not dissimilar to yours. As always would just appreciate your thoughts and guidance even though I realise this is all subjective with so many variables that play their part. Thanks buddy. 👍👍🙂
PHARRAWAY 👍 wow....Sooooo much cheaper then the Carbonio which you used it a lot in the past and got great results with. Ive watched all the jobs you did with it. Why did you stop using the Carbonio? Is because you have to mix things up for the channel and show us different products? If you had to pick a base gun and a clear out of all the guns you’ve used regardless of the price and based purely on results and personal preference what would your choice be. Thank you. 👍🙂
I got my start on Rust-Oleum. Haven't used it in over 10 years. It's a great learning experience. I'd like to check out your video too. What you'll end up finding out is that automotive paint is MUCH easier to shoot, less expensive in the long run, and better performing. I have a few interesting videos you'd be able to learn from on my body shop channel concerning rattle can paint, and bad chemical reactions. Might be helpful to you

64649 3m red works great and does not leave too deep of a mark. It's also great for sanding blend panels without leaving sand marks in the blend.

You should clean/remove the mold release before you sand/scuff you don't want to grind the mold release into the plastic.

What about the plastic bumper have existing paint after sanding it do you need to put adhesion promoter to the entire bumper before priming it?

I have not tried white forever from Tamco and about the time between coats was 15min even on the clear

no I use slow it's about 100 degrees here

the slim is the same gun as the carbonio
