    Inductee Insights explores the artists that have changed the course of rock’s history with their evolution of sound.
    Grunge gave birth to a full-fledged culture, characterized by an expansive band roster, a gritty fashion sense and a catalogue of heady melodies that were both dismal and revitalizing. Pearl Jam was a pioneer of this era.
    Sonic and influential musical histories are powered by our partners PNC Bank. We're bringing you the stories behind your favorite band's songs and sounds.

    Yeah, love PJ (more so w/Abruzzese) but why aren’t AIC ever inducted? They always got snubbed...is it bc of Layne? Layne’s the very reason they need to be honored! Jerry deserves it too! They’ve moved on & still sing their timeless songs.....sadly,
    w/o Layne

    • @rumblefish9
      @rumblefish9 6 лет назад +4

      Julie Waters In terms of consistency and quality, AIC had it and still has it. I loved PJ's Ten album but sadly the quality wasn't there in later albums. Like the politics mattered more than the songs. AIC deserves to be inducted. Layne was an amazing frontman and occasional lyricist and Jerry was the genius behind the music. Kinney, Starr and later Inez all brought amazing musicianship. But even after Layne, AIC survived and thrived (because Jerry was always the man behind the music). Black Gives Way to Blue and The Devil Put The Dinosaurs Here were both great.

      Rotten Apple I agree with you 100% Pearl Jam in my opinion after their first 2
      Albums made generic rock. Seemed to get further away from being original .

    • @brendantaylor3570
      @brendantaylor3570 4 года назад +1

      Joshua Fult While Ten and Vs were definitely bigger, hit driven rock albums, Vitalogy and No Code were more experimental. I don’t think you could describe those albums as “generic,” but as a band going in a different direction.

    • @sambell385
      @sambell385 4 года назад +1

      Joshua Fult : sadly Brother a huge majority of bands and music in general is overrated ! But sometimes I experiment by going back and listen to a bands entire catalog, even some bands I previously may have thought of as being one of the greatest and all of that stuff , and i realize after listening to the whole music catalog that A little of it was good or just OK , but beyond that the rest of it is like empty space or generic as you called it , Iron maiden was the last band I did this on, they got like 20 albums after a couple it was just unlistenable so much repetitiveness the same old sound and riffs over and over through hundreds of songs it was really a bunch of nothing after a while, wasn’t really anything there beyond a few hits in my opinion that is ! mostly all people here are the few songs that become big hits , but when you listen to all of it you say wow ! it changes your perspective on who you thought they were✌️

    Good video but the guitarist main influence isn't Jimi Hendrix. It's Michael Schenker. He even now plays in a UFO cover-band. Hardly mentioning most of their albums is a bit weird. Yes. I know the early records are the biggest but the rest are hardly unknown.

    • @leinonibishop9480
      @leinonibishop9480 2 года назад

      lotta incorrect info in this video. they starred as the lead band in singles? that movie isn't really even about the bands and PJ has a bit part. That time magazine cover photo of Eddie used without his consent that he hated. Claiming they wrote songs about the simple joys in life and then showing Ed saying he wrote Oceans about his surf board, conveniently cutting off the part after that where he says he wrote it about Beth and hopes to see her. I bet the band hated this whole high-light reel.
