I have severe anxiety and mental disorder , i cant sleep Your voice helps me so much I dont cook yet i just come here to hear you speak , it really calms me down and helps me sleep Thank you so much
These are just perfect. I did add more flour (humidity, flour type, who ever knows with flour) to achieve the proper consistancy and added a touch more cinnamon (personal preference). The potatoes do make them so fluffy and soft. I've tried numerous other recipies but this will be my go to anytime I'm craving cinnamon rolls. Thank you so much Thomas and Martha.
I made this today (begun yesterday) and woah, I am so impressed by this recipe! If there is sweet doughy treat from heaven it would be these cinnamon rolls. I made one half with nutella and one half according to recipe and both were so so so good. All the steps were worth the effort. Thank you so much for sharin showing this recipe, Thomas! I just cannot get enough 😋😋😋
I guess Im randomly asking but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my login password. I would love any tips you can offer me
@Colson Mark i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I made this before and it was absolutely delicious! This afternoon I really really really wanted warm cinnamon rolls tonight so I baked it without refrigerating overnight, I added a teaspoon of baking powder and a half teaspoon baking soda, let rolled and cut rolls rise a second time in my turned off warm oven for about an hour and baked for 30 minutes, the result was fantabulous!
I am so with you as soon as he use that spatula I thought thank goodness someone knows how to clean a bowl I can't stand watching some of these Cook's drives me nuts especially when they're using cream xx
Exact! I suggest he scrape the bowl with the more flexible size of the spatula . In his banana bread , to me , he scraped it the wrong way . I love his shows and his personality . Hope to see more of him in the next months .
This is your calling! I love watching you make yummy things. Your style of instruction and tips/tricks are appreciated. Keep up the great work. You make it look SO EASY!
This recipe is fantastic! I had 6 Oz of russet potato and I added 2 Oz of sweet potatoes to the mix. WOW! I made a cream cheese maple drizzle for the topping. Thank you for this tutorial!
I've two recipes for cinnamon rolls, one with potatoes like this one and one that's more a brioche dough. I love both but this one had a distinctly light and fluffy texture. It's a great addition, highly recommend.
Thomas Joseph, thank you for yet another cooking/baking conundrum!!!! Love to watch your segments. Always so insightful and helpful. Your techniques and encouragement makes me feel like I could make these cinnamon rolls myself without the immense fear I have of baking!!!! Thank you. 😁
I have made a lot of cinnamon rolls and this recipe is by far my favorite! I titled it "Best Cinnamon Rolls" in my recipe book. They are a bit of work - honestly, what homemade cinnamon rolls aren't - but SO worth it. The cream cheese in the glaze gives it a little tang that is a nice offset to the sweet roll. Cooking to a specific temp is genius. They came out perfect. We like lots of glaze, so I actually doubled the glaze. I can't image why anyone would dislike this video or recipe. It is delish. On a side note: I love, love, love your videos, Thomas Joseph. Keep up the great work!
This is the first video of yours that I'm seeing and I'm in love with your voice and the way you explain in details every steps while working without taking much time . Gonna try it for the next party at home I wish I had my math teacher like you.. maybe then I wouldn't have hated it so much 🥰🥰🥰
When I'm trying to roll out a rectangle for cinnamon rolls, I like to roll from the center to the corners instead of center to the edges; I find that it makes a big difference in trying to get those corners rather than an oval shape :)
Been making it this way for 4 years now, even with the cream cheese glaze. But I use all purpose flour and abit of cornstarch as well as some vanilla in the dough. Super fluffy!
I tried these and would definitely recommend to anyone. I was worried it was going to turn out tough like my attempt with another recipe but nope. I made them with all purpose flour and with instant yeast cause it was all I had and honestly they were perfect
I tried making these last night. They turned out amazing. The only difference was that I added pecan pieces to the filling. The cream cheese icing works very well with them.
Great recipe, will def. try this one out. What I also like is that you give us great information on how and why you do certain things while baking these rolls.
Thanks for sharing, I've been making cinnamon rolls for years (decades??) and still picked up a few things. If I may offer, I like to add to the bottom of the pan a little cinnamon/sugar mixture with just enough melted butter to wet it. The inside of the rolls just never seem to to have enough cinnamon for my taste and this adds just a little more to it. Really good without it though.
I was out of potatoes so I added a banana and replaced 2 tbsp of flour with corn starch. I also added walnuts to the filling. Its like a banana nut bread cinnamon roll and they are divine!!!
Can't wait to try this recipe! I have a bread maker and used to use it all the time to knead any kind. Of dough but now I use my Vitamix and like it so much more. I'll try to make this recipe with it. Love, love, LOVE your videos. Thanks T.J!
Thanks so much for this very helpful tutorial! Sometimes people leave out a lot of info that are necessary for non experienced bakers like my self so thank you! Can’t wait to try it!
THANK YOU for this AMAZING recipe! made them for brunch today and they were perfect. The best cinnamon rolls I've ever had! I added some grounded cardamom into the dough to give them a little scandinavian twist and used only half of the sugar for the icing because we Germans don't like it too sweet 😉
Appreciation from Thailand on date 4.08.2021. Thank you so much, you are the model of knowledge and skill transformation with high determination and genuine will to open every details and techniques to audience. Beautiful, clear and professional video + well planned.
It will, I have always used that in bread making because of the fluffiness and keeping bread softer longer, you only need about 1/4 cup for this much flour, it's a long drive for me to get it, this is a great idea because I never thought how I could use a potato instead, and shorter drive.
10:14pm here in Philippines thanks for sharing this video i am actually looking for the the best cinnamon roll recipe and i guess your cinnamon is open of the best recipe so let me try this best cinnamon of yours and this is the best for this coming Christmas and for my birthday God bless sir
Thank you, Thomas!!! I have watched many videos on making cinnamon rolls. However, your video is so educational. For example, you let us know what temp the center of the 9X13 of baked cinnamon rolls should be with the instant reader and the temp of the milk. I know that adding the potatoes to the dough will make these rolls special! I will definitely make these for my family!!!
@ThomasJoseph Thanks so much for all of your Kitchen Conundrums videos. I understand this may be a huge ask, but in future, would you please list both metric and standard measurements, at least for the baked goods? I'm getting ready to make these cinnamon rolls. I can hardly wait! There is a shop in Payette, Idaho that makes donuts using potatoes. They call them spudnuts and they are the best donuts I've ever had. I'm SO looking forward to these fresh cinnamon rolls.
In Malaysia, usually at the villages, our grandma love to add potatoes in the dough, especially while making doughnuts. We even have a type of doughnut called 'kuih keria', wholly made from sweet potatoes. Yum!
I knew it 🙃‼️….m grandmother did the same thing to her Kolache dough &, they were amazing & stayed soft ‼️ You’d never know there was potato in the dough ‼️ It’s a Great trick /(or secret) ‼️
I used to make donuts with potato or sweet potato/yam or pumpkin. And yes the donuts become softer and can stay soft even in room temperature for 2 days.
Made these yesterday. The addition of adding potato does result in a tall and fluffy roll. However, the potato does slightly change the taste component of the dough.
I worked for a state prison for 25 years before retiring and the inmates there produced great cinnamon rolls and I love them. Theirs was better than the ones which was made in the Air Force kitchen which they made. Those you have look great also and leave me wanting a few of them.
Elizabeth Timothy actually no after I quit smoking two years ago I picked up baking, and last night she did not complain when she ate my homemade cinnamon rolls. I bake every day ,I cut the lawn once a week. But I enjoy baking and I hate cutting the grass. So yeah.
A tip, it would be so much better to slice it using a floss or a fine string by tying knots rather than using a knife. A bit more work but better overall shape.

Baked my rolls and never failed my expectation. They were soft, fluffy and never too sweet. This recipe is for keeps. Thank you.
I enjoy when i see a cook using a spatula to scoop the last drop or piece of a bowl unlike these new ones.. amazing vid as always Thomas💛
Lorena Zampini hahahaha spatulas are always friends with peanut butter jars🥜💛
OMG Same!!! I was thinking the same thing since he first scraped the melted butter off the cup.

I like cinnamon rolls, kindly share your grandma recipe too. Let me try it. Thanks.

My mother in law uses potatoes and the cooking liquid in her bread recipes and it really does make a noticeable difference.
I made them, were the fluffiest and flavorful cinnamon rolls I ever had..... Thank you sooooo much chef for all your wonderful recipes💜💜💜

Today I made this it was so yummy thank you very much for your lovely recipe
I wondered if it will result in the same fluffiness using potato starch as opposed to the whole potato . Thank you for a great recipe. Way to go Tom.
I think no. Usually starch just add gumminess to a dough. Not fluffy
What about instant potato?
It will, I have always used that in bread making because of the fluffiness and keeping bread softer longer, you only need about 1/4 cup for this much flour, it's a long drive for me to get it, this is a great idea because I never thought how I could use a potato instead, and shorter drive.
