This is one of the worst MTX updates in recent memory, and unfortunately is classic RS3. The dev team making the big updates deliver something well worth your time, then management comes in and pushes things like the Hero Pass into the game. A battle pass failed before due to massive backlash in this game, we'll see how this one goes. There is still very much a good game beneath all this, but just know this is how the company that owns the game treats it.
I'm so torn over RS3. On one hand, its my OG account from 2009. On the other hand I hate the fact that microtransactions made all those long ass hours I spent in f2p getting 90 combat all for nothing. I log back in periodically to check up on things, but largely my account remains unchanged since 2013...

My problem with runescape 3 is that Jagex sometimes seems like it hasn’t learnt anything for the last 10+ years, its not only the hero pass or necromancy receiving mixed opinions its just the general understanding of how this game should proceed with osrs being around. Even with those cosmetics and microtransactions it just doesn’t feel like it is greed that is ruining this game unlike in Blizzard where it directly keeps ruining world of warcraft and their other creations. I think it simply needs more community involvement like osrs
I have repeatedly tried to play RS3 but the UI is always my biggest obstacle. I know there are guides to arranging the UI make it easier to follow but having to follow it always puts me off trying it again. Is there anyway I could import someone else's UI?
Personally, I just found a streamer/content creator who had a setup that I liked, and then paused the video while I rearranged mine to loom like theirs. Hotkey should be set to 'L' to lock/unlock the user interface. Once it is unlocked, you can drag and drop or resize any window you like. By hitting 'Esc', you can pull up a window to save the UI, as well as edit where some of the ingame windows appear (like bank screen, etc). I forget what the option is called, but it appears right when you push Esc.
someone who been playing since 2005 I'm gonna go with no eoc almost pushed me away but stuck around making osrs splitting the community stayed around but the in your face mtx is getting out of hand and lack of good updates just has me thinking not renewing my membership anymore

can we please stop with the misinformation? you aren't required nor is it neccessary to have a ridiculous amount of switches or 'insane high' apm to play the game competenly, stop lying dude. this is stock standard for the mmo industry to have to click buttons to do things. Look at wow, or swtor, or ff14 or any god damn game dude and they are WAY harder than rs3 will ever be.

Duel arena was 47% of all RWT. wildy left due to lack of player involvment into pvp. The only form of pvp that did exist was like 100 people who targeted skillers for the sake of causing a bad day. its a W that jagex got rid of or fixed dead content.
You were playing the wrong game if that was what you were looking for-just go play BDO for stale pvp and gambling. Runescape has some of the worst pvp of any mmo. If you want to pvp go play WoW arenas, GW2 WvW, or Warhammer RoR.

I dont get it. At some other games like WoW and FFXIV it's understandable to want multiple characters per account. But runescape? There's 10000s hours worth of content and you can do it all on one account, there's no reason to create multiple accounts unless youre going to play them at the same time.

It has also been officially confirmed that OSRS is like 10% bots. RS3 is a dead game. Nobody watches RS3 videos, because there is no community. There is virtually no engagement around the game, unlike OSRS. Nobody plays minigames, nobody talks, nobody interacts. It’s not even an MMO anymore, it’s a casino. Your achievements mean nothing, because everything can be bought. It’s a soulless husk of a game. Imagine playing a dead game and putting thousands of hours into it. Now that’s hilarious.
Its fun bossing compared to osrs but no pvp scene at all ruins the game. Contrary to what some (not all) osrs players believe, you shouldnt have to play 500-700+ hours before you are allowed to do the endgame. Leveling is better in rs3. The MTX needs to go though. Like all of it. Every single bit. Actually fuck it just delete rs3 and transfer us to osrs and be done with it.

Having just completed 99 in necromancy I share the sentiment that the skill is fun and far more accessible than other forms of combat.
Necromancy is my favorite skill in either runescape period but I've been a fan of necromancy since diablo 2 lol

I really enjoy rs3 for Ironman. Weapon progression is really nice, supply drops from mobs are very generous for training other stats.
