DO note that a lot of people seem to not mention: Necromancy is a P2P skill, as a F2P you can level it up to level 20.

The beauty about RS is your account never goes backwards. Other MMO’s do resets on content releases, but Runescape’s simply stack on top of the old content. If you’ve been gone for a few years, your character is still as powerful as it was when you were playing (maybe even stronger), now it just has a higher ceiling for you to reach. Once you understand that, it’s easy to not worry about the FOMO and it’s easier to enjoy the game. I take a 6 months on / 6 months off approach to the game and this is the #1 thing I’ve come to realize that helps make RS so enjoyable, cause there’s just no rush even though it feels like there is.

Joining a clan is a toss up. On the one hand you do now have access to people who know things but on the other hand I have found that it sometimes makes players feel bad as they are left to sit and listen to everyone having fun together in events they cannot go to.

Necromancy has broken the game for me. I just casually got to 99 recently and then bought all t95 pieces and perked them out. I beat all my best times with best in slot ranged gear with little experience in the necromancy style. It kind of feels like it has made other styles redundant. I love the style it's in dire need of rebalancing though in my opinion. I don't think other styles need buffing I think necromancy needs a nerf. Although it is fun doing a 1 shot on high end slayer creatures.

As a new player i found unlocking invention early on was a big help

I am an on and off player. And all I do is do questing and grind for super rare items you can get from kills. I know it's very pvp/pvm oriented but. It's what I like to do lol. Runescape is a fun game and don't worry about getting caught up in the game. Enjoy the game for what it is.

newer player here. I have played before but I was a kid. Quests are 100% something you should do at the start. My account i've done 100qp on the first day, 200qp 1 week and after a month 300 qp. the amount of exp and treasure hunter keys you get early game is insane. and it will help you progress your account quickly.

Final Tip: Don't abandon your pet rock. It has feelings, it's alive. And it can move to get it's revenge..

  • @TotallydubbedHD

As someone coming back to the game having been away for over 10 years (and someone who will has his 20-year old RS account), I really appreciate the tips from you and the community.

  • @holybrail9191

i haven’t played this game in a over a decade, when i did i was HOOKED for years lol. glad to see it’s still thriving.

    My biggest tips:

  • @anialator1000000

Skills often have fairly AFK ways of training, and there are some really afk ways to make money as well. If you don't really feel like playing or want minimal input, find those methods and do them while you do other things. Things like using Perfect Juju Mining potions and stone spirits, or filling your inventory with unfinished smithing projects, or Yoga in Priff. There are lots of very or extremely afk things you can do to take a break yet still progress in useful or meaningful ways.

  • @TheJacob232

Necromancy and Forinthy are definitely some Key Quests to start up on. As someone who played OSRS exclusively up until last year and decided to check out their OG character and the new content ive fallen in love with the Fort and has even made me look at construction as a skill which i hated prior. so much QOL in those areas,

  • @couchman7749

Clue scrolls are a baller on a budgets dream. Seriously all it takes is one dye drop from a clue scrolls for you to level your account up in a major way. Also huge for getting fortunate components stocked up before you’ll need them! Plus clue scrolls will give you proper motivation to level many different skills and unlock different areas!

  • @MzCatieShorts

iv been boss pet hunting and not worrying about the drops... so far i have all of the GW1 and GW2 boss pets and im slowly moving up through the harder bosses and learning as i go...
