This is such a fantastic performance with everyone providing stellar parts. Mick, Fergie, and Edge are forces of nature, with solid support from Adam, Larry, and will.i.am. I also love that Bono seems totally content to play third singing fiddle here. He lets Mick and Fergie be the stars and understates his performance. Goosebumps really hit near the end, when Mick and Fergie face off while Bono softly provides ethereal "da da das." And U2 almost always are spectacular when covering others' material because their love and respect for what they cover shines through.

Growing up in the 60's and 70's this song evokes the tragedy that was the Viet Nam war, standing out as such a powerful anti-war song. And the story of Merry Clayton who organically included "Rape, murder" in the studio recording is fascinating. Those lyrics are the icing on the cake.

I am a Fleetwood Mac/Tom Petty fan for more than 40 years. But this video with U2, Mick, & Fergie is the most Astonishing Music Video i have ever seen. All 3 Singers are GREAT but Fergie totally Rocks it.I did not know about her before and knew nothing about The Black-Eyed Peas. And U2 and Mick Jagger dont need an introduction. They are 2 of the Greatest Music Icons Ever.
