This movie was "Island of Dr. Moreau" meets "Flowers for Algernon" with a little bit of Pygmalion, directed by Terry Gilliam and art direction by Jules Verne. I loved it.
I sure hope this plays in my area! I might have to take quite a drive to catch it. My favorite Emma Stone movie is 'Easy A'. Her comic brilliance was really showcased in that film.
the frankenstein theme is just for few minutes of the film... and it doesnt even touch the soul of the story.. its more of bottle of a scent and not the smell itself... its simply about SAX tbh... "nymphomaniac" is so better......
Just finished watching this. Trying to watch most of the Best Picture nominees before the Oscars tomorrow. I found it funny and odd. Wouldn't watch it again.
I think the later parts dragged a little and kept on repeating the sex scenes when the message was already clear. The basic concept of the woman with a child's brain going on adventures and "exploring" was interesting, but all of the exploring seemed to be connected with sex and practically little else. There appeared to be not much about other aspects of personal growth.
Visually it reminded of the first coloured movies at times. I loved the whole thing and I loved watching this video cuz I agree with lots of points you made
This feels like this year's Everything Everywhere - extreme, bizarra, beautiful/ugly, thought provoking and etc.. Silmilar to Everything, some people said that was too long or repetitive too. Mark Ruffalo is hilarious. The accent is bad, but it seems consistent with his character - shady person with questionable morals. .He is definitely someone different from what he project himself to be. The designs of the cities and the colors are beautiful - surreal environments. Like Everything Everywhere, I can see this movie is not for everyone, which is fine. Favorite Emma Stone movie? Easy A, maybe? As a whole, delightful movie.
full of it when story doesnt need it anywhere.... not a single needed nudity in this movie..there are many scenes you can sense its pur wantedly... same with other scenes.. you can sense they are dragged and added ...
She's so weird in "Curse" offy cringe like imo, anddd they showed the hubby's 🍆 God knows why while hes taking a piss. I tried to like it to episode 5 but I'm done, Dougie weird too 😮😁
@@Abdas-SalamMichelakakis objectively speaking, it is the worst film I have ever seen in my life, and I used to be a big fan of the director. Not a fan anymore. Nothing works in the film, direction and acting is very pretentious and empty, no meaning, just a bunch of theatrics that no one can relate to. Truly shocking movies don't have to try so hard and they actually work.

I can not even begin to tell you how much I hated this film.

Read the book, too! (Oh - and that final added character occurs in the book, too).
Cris Thank you for posting.
Loved her in Cruella
Huge Emma fan, love her ❤
Looking forward to seeing the movie this weekend

Very weird movie, but I must say the acting was good, and the visuals/ background and setting were well done.
Great review🎉

You made good points. It's a divisive film but definitely more good qualities than bad
She is awesome
This looks interesting. Have you seen the new Japanese movie MONSTER? It’s playing at my local AMC.
I enjoyed Monster.
Visually it reminded of the first coloured movies at times. I loved the whole thing and I loved watching this video cuz I agree with lots of points you made
I liked easy A because you got to see more of her after Super Bad.(insert nude joke)

Unfortunately, I pretty much hated it.
You can’t understand art Madame
@@Vss86 Loved Oppenheimer, The Holdovers, and The Last Claw Madame.
I started and couldn't finish... we'd just established it was a child in a woman's body and then she started masturbating, hell nah
@@themtgdude486 seems like arthouse cinema isn't for you then.

Gotta wait till January 24 for this to hit uk...i think??
This movie must have limited release. Closest screener is ~50miles away
According to Dan Murrell (RUclipsr), there was only 9 theaters in the US last week. I assume it is getting a slow roll out.
Excellent
This movie is not playing anywhere near me 😩
Oh poo, that sucks!!
@@MoviesAndMunchies Yep. Given the visuals, I wanted to see it on the big screen. But it looks like I’ll have to wait for streaming.
Sex and nudity…. I’m game
How gratuitous is the nudity? I need to know for research purposes.
Extremely gratuitous, almost in a comical way
@@123rockfan good I'm going to invite my uptight friend to see it with me. Thank you.
It's very artfully done, but does approach the line of being porn without crossing it though.
