- Sneaking out of the Sierra Madre with all of the gold bars and trapping Elijah in the vault.

It teleports you to a personal base where you can store all your crap, has an autodoc, dispensers, etc. Very handy after dead money. I played through dead money today and it was so satisfying trapping elijah in the vault while making off with all the gold.

@@CassieJadeCelosia Omg yes A that's all he ended up caring about in life was the gold B he remained there for 200 years obsessed with it, did he even try to leave? C he was so close and died bc he was selfish, took a gunfight against someone clearly more skilled & equipped than him. He's not nearly one of the worst-intentioned characters in the game, but you really can't argue he's one of the best or the smartest. I mean riddle me this, everyone literally knew the was was coming, and instead of better befriending one of the few people who could save him, he stole his woman.
Part of letting go is forgiving, even when you don't want to. You need to forgive to move on.

Dean was so unaccustomed with guilt he didn't even realise what he was feeling.
I know it probably doesn't do anything, but when I trapped Elijah in the vault, I take all the supplies, so he dies quicker.

That’s what you’re supposed to do in a RPG. I love how New Vegas really entices the player to really play along and create your own being within the wasteland. Best game ever bro.

I managed to left with 5 bars only, watching this makes me realize of an awesome way of easily getting all 37.
Kill Elijah, sever a limb and put everything in his body/container. Use the z key to hold the severed limb and carry it to the elevator, and once there in front of it, loot the container and use the elevator. From there all you have to do is walk to the exit and then store everything in the Bos Bunker. It kind of defeats the purpose of the dlc but it is tempting, given how damn expensive weapons can get in this game.....
But how do you make the jump/carry the limb within a minute's time? The player walks slowly when carrying something.

lol I almost completed dead money then got stimpack sickness and kept dying in the slideshow room
Once, when I beat the game, the ending slide played, but Cannibal Johnson just stood right in front of the slides, like "the fuck you lookin' at? You wearing a wire? Are you? I'll break your fucking kneecaps! Hey! Get back here!"
stride99 i just completed NV yesterday, and Johnson kept walking back and forth in front of all the slides
In my first play through I was in the middle of the Hoover dam house slide show blocking the screen
Once, I lit dynamite next to Easy Pete and entered Prospector's Saloon like the man I am.
For everyone saying this video is bs. There’s a reason he waited till Elijah was in the room. Once he’s in the room that’s when you make a break for it. It takes a bit of luck and a fuck ton of timing. But I just did it and believe me the 11 million times I died trying made doing it all that sweeter.
having a stealth boy, assassin suit on, and the Implant GRX perk also really help to make this possible
It is so sad what happened to Elijah. The old fool was blinded by greed and misinterpreted the treasure of Sierra Madre as gold and money. He was oblivious to the fact that the true treasure of Sierra Madre are the friendships we built along the way smh 😤
Not really, he didn't care about the gold, he wanted the madre itself and the red fog's preserving abilities
He wanted to build his own citadel..
It's not the money, he wanted the tech. Vending machines, the cloud, holograms, Etc. He eould reverse engineer all he found d in the casino and slowly take the Mohave with an invincible tech army. He planned to return to the big empty and do the same there. In short. He intended to become a tech God and rule over as much of America's ruins as he could.
Elijah basically wanted to weaponize the cloud and holograms against the NCR.
YEESS I DID IT!!! It has been ages since i last played New Vegas, let alone Dead Money... But I have never managed to trap him in the vault until a random succes which I was very happy about the moment the force shield closed right behind me. Heading right towards the exit in overencumbered excitement, right upon entering the elevator FalloutNV.exe stops working so i had to do it AGAIN.
For the second time I noticed that Elijah makes sudden stops during his walking to the vault terminal itself, like his walking was buggy of some kind. But I think during these "stops" Elijah just scans the area for your movements somehow, because he does catch you, and you can't even comprehend how.
After countless tries for this second time as well I found that you should make your move after his last sudden stop before making it to the terminal. Like this the force field closes behind you and you can just walk to the elevator and return with the gold. The gold, you're not even able to sell in one, it takes forever to turn all of them into caps.... So much caps you can't even spend in the game even if you buy literally everything.
I remember running a lot when escaping the vault before your collar explodes. Why is your vault shorter?

Nah apparently in the Ultimate Edition they made the path longer even if you are undetected. Well thats lame

You need to wait for Elijah to stop in front of the terminal by the door and then that’s when you start moving
People keep telling those who took the gold bars and managed to escape 'you learned nothing' lol hey now at least we now roam the mojave 36 gold bars richer than y'all. I'll take that over some shitty faint lesson from some ruined casino tale

The bars are worth more than the stock and caps of most vendors (Barring gunrunners and the sink). You will have to let go, one way or another.
No, the gold isn't the most valuable object in the Sierra Madre. It's the voucher from the casino (infinite items from the vendor in Elijah's bunker) and the agility glitch (turning in a pre war outfit while wearing it).

No lie if I could, I would split the cut of the gold with the lads before saying goodbye and making my way for the divide
For some reason, it's impossible for me to sneak past him before the energy field is turned on. (Oh wait, I don't think I could leave that way without taking the gold.)

@@dantebond8124 you're meant to leave the vault door open when you leave and you're supposed to wait till he gets to it then slowly crouch towards the exit and get and up and make a fucking run for it whilst overencumbered
I had the same problem, once I was trying to do it, and I was (l..l) that close to being home free, then bloop, the force field came on, I understand the stress of getting all the gold out.
Funny enough you trap him between the barrier and the vault door
He can just use the conputer to get in, and once he's inside, he can't get out.
I think mine is bugged, it always triggers the alarms when I touch those stairs no matter where he is
For some reason when i trap him i manage to do everything right but when i go to the elevator it takes me back up the the actual elevator it doesnt spawn me outside

If you're on PC, hoof your ass to the Villa, unlocking the doors in your way. Put the finish quest command as well, if you care about that.
After many many MANY tries and thinking it was dean fucking me over every time, i finally snuck past Elijah and beyond the blue fence i damn near was jumping with joy

So pure luck and chance? I will take all the bars store them away in the big empty.... I have all the money weapons and armor the world could buy. The hard part is.. letting go of your friends whether they are your heist crew or not.

When i did this I saved all the companions and still got the bad ending

first, close the vault door behind you, then hid behind one of the generators. Stealth-boy helps. Slowly, walk to the side when he passes you. When you sneak to the door, he may have turned on the alarm, but he's already too late.
Is there a way to take down the barrier and kill Elijah?
i play fnv with mods (who wouldnt?) but i also use a cheat mod cus i like to fuck around in the game this means that i have plenty of caps and can give my self more if i need to. because of this, i usually leave him in there with all the riches because its kinda poetic - Elijah got all the money he could ever want, but he will die alongside it...
imagine going through all of this and not even doing the divide.

You either need to walk-sneak or have the Silent Running perk and Sneak at 95+ for this to work.
I did it with 33 Sneak and Implant GRX. As soon as he hits the terminal you hit a Turbo and then stand up and book it.
I can't tell if this is glitching or not because elijah no matter where I am when I go to move from the pillar he sees me

Jump down. It’ll save you valuable time. After that, you should be able to grab the bars at the barrier and walk to the elevator with just enough time to spare.

My game is broken.
The terminal says it's locked.
did you try using the computer once already? If you click on the a certain message on the computer it locks you in the vault. Might also lock the computer, I don't 100% recall.
1: I disengage the security
2: I walk into the vault
3: I re-disengage the security
4: I log onto the terminal but = Error security engaged.
I managed to fix the bug, but now Elijah is bugged.
I do the steps to trap him in there but as soon as he enters the room he bugs and detects me instantly.

That's the wonderful thing about Fallout New Vegas. It's a TRUE RPG. Not like those terrible "RPGs" that Bethesda makes
you can mess around with a few perks and actually take all of them... but since there are ways of getting "unlimited" bottlecaps not really the best to make a build just for that.
Manohar Rajan I don't think you can take all of them without using console commands or something else non-canon like mods. They weigh wayyy too much to take all of them and you have to escape the facility quickly so you can't afford to be over encumbered
Arkenholm He literally took all of them in the video. He was overencumbered, but he remained hidden from Elijah who turned off the forcefield on the door, walked through it, got Elijah to trap himself in the Vault and went to the elevator before he turned the forcefield back on.
Jeez why they experiment so much in fallout universe no wonder the bombs were launched

All the companions going 'its letting go' one by one and alternating lines at the end really ruins the ending slides. Makes it go from something that makes you think to a kindergarten reading exercise. Much more powerful when it's just the old man speaking.
