I think TSR would be much better if it wasn't a budget title, and its because sega is scared of wasting money on a game that may not do well, thats why games like generations had nothing to do after the main levels/bad edits while unleashed had multiple levels and many acts etc
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled have amazing DLC content with new tracks and new characters. That's why Sega was very lazy for not putting more characters like, Cream, Jet, Wave, Storm, Classic Sonic, Sticks, Marine, Infinite and more characters what we want.
By the way, I'm just stating that I want Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled over Team Sonic Racing. I love both Sonic and Crash, but to me, my preference is CTR: NF.
As someone who's played neither game so far, Sonic looks preferable to me. It looks faster, it's got a better frame rate, I prefer Sonic characters, and the music is freaking awesome! (Seriously, the music's not even close)
Sonic All-Stars Transformed is the best kart racer IMO. Sega just needs to combine the team stuff in TSR into Transformed and it would become the perfect game.
CKFORBES 2 ok true. I’m a fan of all three to be honest, but recently more of a Mario fan. The sonic fanbase is making me lose brain cells, but the Mario fanbase is fine (expect for bowsesette, thanks weebs) but that’s nothing compared to sonic deviant art.
CKFORBES 2 hate on crash? I haven’t really seen anyone hate on crash games unless it’s twinsanity, or that fighting game among a few others. and who could blame them? Those games were definitely not GOOD crash games. But okay games. Sonic games.... for a long time they have not been very good like a while ago, and I’m not a classicists, I grew up with 3D sonic, but let’s admit that the classics were amazing games that along with Mario shaped platforming to what it is now. Mario still th same after 30 years? what are you talking about? I feel like you’ve been misinformed a lot, or playing to much NSMB. Because that’s not what Nintendo only had ya know? Haven’t you played Mario Odyssey Galaxy 1 and 2 3D land and world? Just to name a few games that are not just “run and jump” like some people say... Mario is getting better and better, I don’t know what you’re talking about. How did they use an unleashed type story in odyssey? I don’t see Mario turning into an animal?!? Sure bowser was beating Mario, but apart from that I don’t see MANY. Differences, sure he got a companion too, kinda like in unleashed, but cappy was a gameplay mechanic! Have ya played the game?
You kinda shed light into why I’m way more hype for CTRNF over TSR on a personal level. At least you are pointing out all pros, and cons for both titles having both been experienced without any sort of bias favoritisms. Even if CTRNF really comes out on top in terms of overall gameplay content, I’m sure TSR is still a fun time. I’ll be playing both for comparison sake. I am both veteran, and fan of both franchises.
All objectively did not point out all the pros of TSR. There is a vast amount of information that was not shared here. "Without bias favortitism" because he said so and had the will to point out some pros in TSR, doesn't mean he still didn't possess that.
I'm gonna disagree with you on the voice acting front. You can't say a Sonic game has bad voice acting because it's a Sonic game. Everything is delivered with a child-like innocence because those characters (for the most part) are marketed towards children and are meant to be family friendly. With that perspective, I think they did a great job. I especially like the interactions between characters the most; some of them have rarely if at all spoken to each other in past games and its good to see them acknowledge each other in their world. And one thing you forgot to mention is the multiplayer, which, in my opinion, is where TSR has CTR beat all ends up. There are more layers to it due to the teamwork mechanics overlapping with the racing mechanics whereas CTR is basically Mario Kart but with more interactive controls like you said. Aside from the drifting, there are only small differences between the multiplayer in those games and TSR has innovated on that superbly. Now all it needs a stronger online player base. CTR was my first ever video game and I cannot wait to dive in and play this newer version of the game I poured so many hours into. TSR is my first Sonic racer since Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity and I really missed doing so many cool things with the characters I love from the series. Once I started playing on expert difficulty, it became clear that TSR is one of the most satisfying racers I've played in some time.
"You can't say a Sonic game has bad voice acting because it's a Sonic game." Oh, so we should tolerate bad acting in a Sonic game, just because it's main target audience nowadays are for kids? Are you serious? There are plenty of other kid-tailored material out there that doesn't belittle them to this point, look at the Pixar Films, for instance, they have films that have good writing and voice acting, and most importantly they're aimed towards the younger demographic. Attitudes like yours within Sonic Team (and other companies producing content for kids) are what keeps newer Sonic games from actually being well made.
The team mechanic of Team Sonic Racing showed promise. Basically a mode where you could work with other racers, sharing items, and also leave trails behind that your allies can boost with, is quite interesting.
The only complaint I can agree with is the lack of tracks and the copy paste skins for the tracks. Every other complaint is invalid or straight up wrong, I personally love the VA and I know the dialogue is silly because it's meant for kids. I don't know any kids games that doesn't have silly lines.
Really, I'm mostly just glad that we're getting more (non-shovelware..freaking Garfield Kart and whatever NIckoledean Kart was) kart racers again. I know there's a lot of competition between fans of CTR, Sonic, and Mario Kart, but I enjoy all of them. (WEll, I haven't played TSR yet, but I enjoyed the previous All-Stars Racing games.)
I really-really like All Stars Transformed but TSR is rubbing me the wrong way =/ (Also the 30fps doesn't feel good on switch; gotta trade it in and get for PS4 later.) Many things he mentioned such as racer- and track theme variety is far superior on Transformed. Also it's much more unique compared to other racers with the transformation aspect.
Evangelos Killer mike their are no problems with being an anime fan unless you shove it in people’s faces so chill out about weebs and quit being salty
Yeah team sonic racing has been a let down compared to racing transformed. Not enough tracks too many remakes of tracks from racing transformed. The icons for the bonus boxes aren't intuitive and their functions aren't as useful. Disappointing.
is not a bad game is just mediocre, boring and with less content even compared to the first 2 All-Stars Racing games once again Sega fucked up and goes into the road of mediocrity
Not really. The game costs 40 bucks on switch. It was definitely worth that money. But you also have to realize that some people just like the sonic the hedgehog series more. It is a good deal for tsr since they excluded cream and other characters. They also won’t allow us to pick our teams, but I still think it’s good.
I still find it weird how Sonic the Hedgehog is driving a race car, Despite the fact that he can run faster than the speed of flipping light. ..You don't ask these questions with Crash Team Racing.
I had this conversation with a friend few hours ago and I tell him this joke: "Well, I have hands, but I don't mind automated doors that I don't need. Just like I don't mind electric stairs over normal ones at the mall. Just enjoy the party pal"
@Jordan King It's already less polished, if it runs with 30 FPS on a current-gen console. Most Racing Games of this generation are running easily with 60 FPS. Otherwise it's a deal-breaker, unless you play on a handheld.
Team Sonic Racing is okay. I like the team mechanics, but the driving physics/mechanics themselves don't feel anywhere near as polished as Mario Kart or even earlier Sonic Racing games. CTR:NF on the other hand, has really tight controls, better items, and more personality. Team Sonic Racing just feels sterile in comparison. I'm going to have to give the edge to CTR. Depending on the skill ceiling, it may replace Mario Kart as my go-to Kart Racer. In my opinion, Diddy Kong Racing is still the best kart racing game of all time, but CTR:NF has a chance to give it a run for its money.
Hmm I definitely agree with you in terms of content, CTR NF wins that be a landslide. But I personally really enjoy the gameplay, graphics and story mode in particular. Great analysis though!
I'm a huge Sonic fan, I own the Sonic Team Racing game on both Switch and PS4, tho I haven't played CTR, I would like to say that your observations and complaints about the Sonic Racing game is spot on. The Switch version of STR is lacking on even more content and is almost impossible to play with your friends and randoms online. I really wanted STR to be a lot more polished when it comes to online but hopefully CTR will do a better job especially on Switch.
@@TheMeganicShow Yeah the Switch online is not the best. I got Team Sonic Racing on Switch which is amazing but I know that more people bought it on PS4 and Switch meaning more online players are there. But we are at a point where the Switch is in competition with them but a console you buy in addition to a better performing one as pc ps4 or xbox.
@UCXiSvI1DZCobYCY5AAuR9OA The only way to ruin it is when Activision decides to push in microtransactions and loot boxes. Or they exclude those so they could hide their hidden image. In other words, Make a game that everyone clearly likes without backlash to ensure no one pays attention to everything else. If CTR:NF blows MK8 out of the park, Nintendo needs to fix up the mess.
This was extremely helpful. I was debating between these two. I already own MK8 on WiiU and didn't really want to buy the same game again. So I have been holding out for an alternative and it comes down to these. I was leaning toward CTR anyway because I enjoyed that back on the PS1 (but didn't own it) so it won the nostalgia factor, but the Sonic racers for the Wii and WiiU were both enjoyable. This helped me decide to punt for CTR though. So thanks :)
I can't wait for CTR. Just looking at all these footage with the animations of the characters, the lighting and detail of the tracks... It just looks amazing. It looks like such a solid and polished, well put together game. And when you said there are going to be 34 tracks, I got even more excited. Can't believe there's so much to play. And online as well... Can't wait!
I stick with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, cause they have amazing DLC content with new tracks and new characters. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is 100 times better then Team Sonic Racing that Sega confirmed their are no plans for DLC. Sega was very lazy.
I haven't seen a whole lot of CTR, but I played a few rounds of Sonic on my friend's Switch. My main problem with it was that I never had any idea what was going on, between the confusing and cluttered HUD, the large open tracks (which meant that I never had any idea who was around me and thus didn't really interact with any other racers, NPC or otherwise) and the fact that sometimes I got barraged with attacks for about 10 full seconds at the end of a race. I just found it to be really underwhelming, especially when we went to play Mario Kart after, which although it does have it's issues, I actually felt like I was in a race.
imo Mario Kart has the same problem with the barrage. Mario Kart plays better than TSR though, not to mention has better track design overall. The real problem with TSR is that's its not finished, had multiple instances of things happening that were not supposed to, like driving on a wall, or ending up upside-down after a jump for some reason etc.
I'm gonna get both if I can help it. I like what I've seen from both. I honestly don't want to compare these two as they both are trying to do completely different things. In all fairness, Crash team racing does look like a better game, but the team mechanic looks so appealing that I just have to play team sonic racing. Finally, I'm actually more of a sonic fan (I've been one since I was very little.) and I've had very little exposure to crash, minus n-traced and nitro kart on the gba. So I'm a little biased to the blue blur. It doesn't detract from the fact that I'm wanting to play both just as equally. I'm really wanting to play as that tiger character and Polar on CTR.
I'm the exact same way, been a huge sonic fan my whole life, only played ctr with my cousins at their place growing up, I had to buy str because I love my man sonic, but I also really want crash because it looks really fleshed out. My wife will be mad I'm spending money like that lol
A lot of these points are less factual and more personal opinion, stated as fact which annoys the hell out of me. You're also one of the ONLY people I've EVER heard say the VA in TSR is bad. About 85% of the voice actors in TSR are veterans and have been playing these characters for years now. Only a select few of the VA's have been re-casted and the ones that have been brought in to voice beloved character are FOR THE MOST PART well accepted and fit their characters well. I've also noticed you've been playing with CPU players in TSR. The CPU players are no where near as skilled or intelligent as real players online so a lot of the issues you had with the gameplay are not present in the story mode or even local co-op. I'm in no way trying to say TSR is better than CTR. I've never played the original CTR so I don't have the experience to weigh an opinion but I do plan on getting the remaster eventually. I personally feel like a lot of the negatives presented here aren't necessarily factual but rather from either a biased point of view or are parts of the game experienced in unfavorable circumstances. There are other points like the lack of an expansive character or track pool that are understandable complaints however.
I agree with your video overall. Although CTR does have the advantage of being a remaster. Meaning the team already had a great game to use as reference for everything. Where as Sonic is all new. Giving the CTR team more time to add content etc.
Idk Team Sonic Racing looks like it was built upon the framework of the Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing series engine. Especially since it’s made by the same developers (Sumo Digital). So it’s fair to say that Sumo had a lot of experience making the game 🤷🏾♂️
@@XXxJustNikkyxXX In fairness, the new team mechanic in TSR is probably what required the most development. Non team based racers are pretty established by now, and ought to be hard to get wrong at this point given all the great examples we have. I do think that Sumo deserves some credit for actually trying something new, even if I wish it had been higher budget game with a bit more content.
I opted to buy Team Sonic Racing for Switch and pre-ordered CTR for PS4. My reasoning was that I lack an extensive library of games for my Switch, and since I have Mario Kart 8 for my Wii-U, I never bought it for Switch and thus lacked a solid kart racer in my Switch game library. I pre-ordered CTR for PS4 since the original CTR games were all exclusively for Playstation so it only felt right to continue the tradition playing the newest installment on Playstation as well.
I have issues with 2 of your points: TSR's hud never bothered me at all, Its no more cluttered than CTR's (and that has the top 4 side pictures that haven't seen in Triple A Kart racer in over a decade). As for the Controls I don't think TSR is awkward at all if anything the cars feel like they have weight to them and it plays more like an old Arcade Racer rather than a Kart Racer (Based on Outrun's Gameplay to be precise). So I personally would put it in a different design philosophy camp like core gameplay.
Picked up TSR on launch day and I've enjoyed what I've played so far :) Aside from a few adventure mode missions which can get a little annoying, I've not had any issues with the game personally as I enjoy a lot of things such as the voice acting (gotten used to the actors across multiple projects they've done so I know how they sound), the music (Frozen Junkyard's theme is my jam as it kicks butt) and the banter between racers which I oddly don't mind as some of it is pretty funny which makes me laugh XD Can't say much about CTR as not really a Crash fan but that's just me
Sonic has a lot of characters, they could add a lot more, i don't know why they have that little roster, Crash Bandicoot doesn't has a lot of characters yet they added a lot. Sonic as a franchise has a lot more than Crash.
The Den a lot of Sonics music is being revamped in this game. Some of the original songs were quite boring compared to the revamped team sonic racing versions
@@jereloproduces9509 HAHAHAHAHA That's a good joke ! You're saying the trashy ass remixes of this garbage game are better than the original LMFAO Yeah no, these remixes suck balls.
If the new Sonic racing game like the one from 2012 with including characters from Sega and from another companies + including tracks that changed each lap, so Sonic is the best but since they didn't include any of these for the new game so the new Crash racing is the best.
Crash Tag Team Racing is another co-operative Kart racing game. TBH it is my favourite due to the story mode and being able to team up with a friend to race. It is like the best bits of the two games put together. Edit: wording
I absolutely love Team Sonic Racing, so if Crash Team Racing is better, I'll pick that one up, too! The big thing for me between the two games is Team Sonic Racing is available on PC. I'd go for the Switch version, but the graphical downgrade is getting to me so far. I'm debating waiting a full year to see if it does come out on PC. Plus, TSR will most likely have a strong modding community like previous PC Sonic games. That's going to be a level of customization that CTR will be hard pressed to compete with. TSR's story is very minimal, (I'm on world 2, and so far it's just everyone but Sonic griping about how shady Dodon Pa is) but I feel the actors' delivery of the lines is still top quality.
This video was one of the main factors why I decided to give CTR a try and bought it after playing the older Sonic Racing games before. After owning and playing CTR for over a year I always felt a bit unfulfilled. On paper the game was great and as it is said in the video seems superior to new Sonic. But it felt a bit heartless and extremely favors experienced players which makes it almost unplayable on casual meeting with friends. Finally I've decided to try Team Sonic Racing after all... and oh man, it is SO MUCH BETTER. It simply feels extremely fast, satisfying, light and simply pleasant. It brings a smile on your face when you reach absurd speed - which in CTR is always extremely stressful, because there any high speed (using blue fire) is possible only if you have god-like reflexes and available only to experienced players. And finally I can play with my friends without them hating me for beating them ALL THE TIME in CTR. After all, at least for me, easily TEAM SONIC RACING >>> CRASH TEAM RACING - by far.
Did u even watch the video? It was divided into several aspects and talk about them in each game. What else can be discussed "in depth" when CTR is out that cannot be compared right now?
@@BleachRush the videobis considered an indepth review. Because there are some aspects that the uploader cannot check, the video isn't in-depth much speculation. At one point during the video on the topic of frame rate, he makes as guess as to how consistent the frame rate is on CTR. A good in-depth comparison would make a balanced comparison such as, in the case of frame rate testing, the amount of effects and particles on screen etc. The video isn't entirely useless but it's not in-depth with a fair amount of comparisons.
@@mariotaz Exactly man & the fact that this comparison is being made already doesn't exactly plead props for TSR. That's like saying, based upon what we know in-depth bout this fighter vs. Just good estimates PERHAPS, assumptions mixed w/presumptions. Ironically, that makes CTR broken asf. Like how if Mario and Sonic would have collabed for this. But ehn, what do ik.. *shrugs* 😏
Yeah, I enjoyed Modnation Racers on the PS3. The load times were the only bad part about it. There was a nice amount of choice in how you raced with the item levels and boost gauge.
The racing in that game felt like no other. It felt heavy and fast and there was a real weight to the cars. IMO it’s the best kart racer ever too. CTR is probably #2 and Mario kart double dash #3
So, which one of these kart racing games is the bestest and way more much better? Nintendo's Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? Sega's Team Sonic Racing? PlayStation & Activision's Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled? Or Nickelodeon Kart Racers? What do you think? Comment below to let me know. 🙂
I have a question, in ctr Nitro fueled, when i win a race, my user name will be shown? Or the character name that i pick? Like in 2:01 canadian name is seen instead Sonic
My favorite kart racing game on the PC is F1 Race Stars. It does team racing, single racing, multiplayer and you can attack your opponents like in Mario Kart.
Is team sonic racing at 60fps?, because i feel like i can see that CTR is at 30. I checked with a speed control. I guess it 95% it is 30fps. I like 60fps for the smoothness and when it is a racing game, you need it.
Yes but that doesn't care its bad the original was 30fps but it was still so playable and polished and the drifting is so satisficing these points is all i care to make CTR good and i play too much 30fps racing games i only play 60fps racing games if they are Simulators like Gran Turismo, Dirt Rally or Assetto Corsa
@@eliasnicolasmiranda4940 It is playable, but not ideal. We are in an era where more frames can means better reaction time, controls and it is a lot smoother
Yes actually, comparing it to other games as far as amount of content doesn’t mean TSR doesn’t have tons of content for it being the base game. The roster is a good size, there’s plenty of tracks, and tons of customization. It’s a good game, fun gameplay and doesn’t need a baby or golden version of sonic to fill the roster. Music is good too.
Team Sonic Racing actually FOCUSES on the TEAM part of the game. Team Sonic Racing is 100% better! And on top of that, you have to beat chapters to unlock tracks. There's even a point in Team Adventure where Eggman reveals secrets slowly! Sonic knows how to make a game GOOD! The theme song is also great! 60 FPS is 2ice as good as 30FPS!
Yes, but I have a PS4. The PC online play is trash at the moment, but SEGA is trying to fix it. CTR has SOME broken online play. But so does TSR. Because the AI in CTR can't get the magnet orb or stopwatch, online can get a bit broken. The Gray Quake in TSR online can accidentally cause more than 1 to have it. So, online is overall, good for both games.
The 3-way comparison of CTR, TSR, and Mario Kart 8 at 1:15 tells you all you need to know. CTR, great as its gameplay is, can't compete with the big boys unless it runs at 60fps. It's mind boggling that Activision let it run at 30.
I'm not a hater but I'll be honest. TSR is just worse than its predecessor All Stars Transformed. - Smaller Roster - Limited customization - Online is broken - Maps are uninspiring - Items are op and removes any skill from the game Everyone that I watched on Twitch try it and give it a chance, simply flashed it out due to the above reasons and said that they will wait for CTR:NF Unless you are a hardcore Sonic fan this game is not worth it
limited customization items are op and removes any skill from the game. There are valid critiques and criticisms and stuff, but this is wrong, flat-out. 1.) nobody has played no more than 20 hours worth of the game yet. You don't know what items are op. Even if there was (with the franchises' track record, there won't be), being able to send them down your allies' way immediately adds more skill and less luck. 2.) limited customization? compared to who? the game sports a nice amount of customization. and idk about online, but if online is buggy, it'll be patched (if the devs care, which they don't look like they do based on so much recycled material).
Interesting take, but most people don't see what you see -Smaller but better roster than CTR, MK8D, and SASRT -Limited? I don't understand what you meant "limited". Changing parts are quite big in the whole game, and they aren't the only parts of customizations, not even close - True af - What? You expecting Smash Ultimate levels of maps for an introduction of a game? - Agreed on the op part, but they are only a bit luck based when playing alone, but HEAVILY skilled based in teams! It adds a MASSIVE change in the playing field! I have seen people being legit garbage at playing it, of course that is their reaction. I used to hate Skyrim for the same reason, but attempting to replay it, and not being garbage at it, made me love that game! "hardcore Sonic fan" nice to people who love SEGA All stars games, normal Sonic fans, and plenty of people who liked it and played it!
CTR Nitro Fueld is officially the best Kart racer game ever made ever. It's the best controls it's the most characters the most customization, the best look and design the best controls, it gives no less than 3 new characters, 3 new karts, and a plethora of paint jobs, tires, and skins ALL FOR FREE EVERY MONTH SO FAR!!! Mario Kart I'll always love and 8 is cool but it could do with giving us some old characters in previous games for free. Like Petey Piranha , Parakoopa, Funky Kong, Diddy Kong, bring in more Kongs like Lanky Kong, King K. ROOL, AND EVEN GOOMBA AND MONTY MOLE! Sonic racing....I wanted to like it. But they left out Cream n Cheese, Espio, Charmy, they could bring back Mighty and Ray and Bean, Bark, and Fang. They could add Gamma...Classic sonic and EGGMAN. Not only is the quality of animations real bad compared. The graphics are...kinda lame, the karts are boring the maps are basically the same. They REALLY should have looked to mario kart and ctr some for inspiration because it's only slightly better than that Nickelodeon kart game we got a while back. and only slightly
Lion The Mood don’t ruin the experience for us. The Mario Maker community is very passionate about the game, even with the occasional gripe at Nintendo.
@@pederotterson4119 Eh, I'd rather get TSR and CTR over Mario Maker 2. Never played the first one or generally got interested in it. The second I saw levels on the same creativity and fun as Happy Wheels, (in simple terms: stupidly cheap and balls to the wall difficult) I instantly lost interest. The overall large amount of 2D Mario games in general was also a bit of a turn off for me. But I do like the Co-op idea at the very least.

I don't have the same issues you have with TSR, myself. The controls feel fine to me, and while I admit Blaze and Big look kind of off, I think the rest of the game is absolutely gorgeous. Crash Nitro-Fueled looks more detailed, but it's ultimately a different art style, so it's hard to compare. I do admit TSR is a bit light on content, though. More characters and tracks would have been nice.
I think I’m gonna get Sonic, not because of the frame rate or something, because I’m nostalgic. One of my first games was Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing on the first iPad. I actually wouldn’t mind a racing game at 30 FPS and good graphics like Crash, I prefer the graphics since I never play online and don’t care about the frame rate too much. It still seems that buying Crash is a better idea, they’re the same price.
Ikr. Specially on a kart race game. According to mmogames testing, the game run at 60fps only on Ps4 Pro and Xbox One X. 30fps on the Ps4 , Xbox One and Switch .
I'm excited for CTR. TSR is a great game & I find the team mechanics a fresh look on the cart racing genre. Both game bring something to the table & each have unique features. I bought TSR the day it came out and I'm loving it. I'll have some gameplay on it this weekend as well.
TSR was ported to the PC while CTR doesn't have a PC port (yet). And that's the funny thing about the sonic community once they get a hold of a new sonic game its bound to be modded so I'm looking forward to what the community will do!

Sonic All-Stars Transformed is the best kart racer IMO. Sega just needs to combine the team stuff in TSR into Transformed and it would become the perfect game.
Yess so agree with this comment. Compared to Transformed TSR feels like a huge step backwards :(
The best kart racer? Not gonna lie it’s nowhere as good as Mario kart or Crash team racing. It is a good game though.
CKFORBES 2 what do you mean sonic inspired crash team racing? What??? I do agree that SAS, SAST and CTR are better than a lot of Mario karts.
Same here
Same for me, even though Blaze is playable, I'm gonna prioritize my childhood remade.
Clay Stewart zero gravity was also my first sonic racing game
And the fact you can turn off the talking in races
So they are SUPPOSE to have shitty voice acting? LOL
"You can't say a Sonic game has bad voice acting because it's a Sonic game."
Oh, so we should tolerate bad acting in a Sonic game, just because it's main target audience nowadays are for kids? Are you serious? There are plenty of other kid-tailored material out there that doesn't belittle them to this point, look at the Pixar Films, for instance, they have films that have good writing and voice acting, and most importantly they're aimed towards the younger demographic.
Attitudes like yours within Sonic Team (and other companies producing content for kids) are what keeps newer Sonic games from actually being well made.
And the bitching begins
The team mechanic of Team Sonic Racing showed promise. Basically a mode where you could work with other racers, sharing items, and also leave trails behind that your allies can boost with, is quite interesting.
The only complaint I can agree with is the lack of tracks and the copy paste skins for the tracks. Every other complaint is invalid or straight up wrong, I personally love the VA and I know the dialogue is silly because it's meant for kids. I don't know any kids games that doesn't have silly lines.
Both games are awesome , and every game has unique style
Really, I'm mostly just glad that we're getting more (non-shovelware..freaking Garfield Kart and whatever NIckoledean Kart was) kart racers again. I know there's a lot of competition between fans of CTR, Sonic, and Mario Kart, but I enjoy all of them. (WEll, I haven't played TSR yet, but I enjoyed the previous All-Stars Racing games.)
I really-really like All Stars Transformed but TSR is rubbing me the wrong way =/ (Also the 30fps doesn't feel good on switch; gotta trade it in and get for PS4 later.)
Many things he mentioned such as racer- and track theme variety is far superior on Transformed. Also it's much more unique compared to other racers with the transformation aspect.

CTR:NF on the other hand, has really tight controls, better items, and more personality. Team Sonic Racing just feels sterile in comparison.

This was extremely helpful. I was debating between these two. I already own MK8 on WiiU and didn't really want to buy the same game again. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is 100 times better then Team Sonic Racing that Sega confirmed their are no plans for DLC. Sega was very lazy.
Definitely CTR > Sonic Racing though to be fair, CTR has the original to build off of
CTR is hands down the best kart racer. It's even better than Mario Kart.

CTR
Late 2019
But
CTR also has a crossover with Spyro, and in my opinion I don’t like sonic but I Love Spyro and Crash

My inner child is screaming with excitement and anticipation for CTR I've missed my childhood stuff😍
Bandicoot power!!!
The real winners are the gamers that have been waiting for a new mascot racing game. Both are awesome!
I have issues with 2 of your points:
TSR's hud never bothered me at all, Its no more cluttered than CTR's (and that has the top 4 side pictures that haven't seen in Triple A Kart racer in over a decade).
I already know I won’t be touching TSR. CTR for life lmao.
Why not team Sonic racing is pretty good. Why not get both games? Of course crash will be better but it's still pretty damn fun
Picked up TSR on launch day and I've enjoyed what I've played so far :) Aside from a few adventure mode missions which can get a little annoying, I've not had any issues with the game personally as I enjoy a lot of things such as the voice acting (gotten used to the actors across multiple projects they've done so I know how they sound), the music (Frozen Junkyard's theme is my jam as it kicks butt) and the banter between racers which I oddly don't mind as some of it is pretty funny which makes me laugh XD Can't say much about CTR as not really a Crash fan but that's just me
Yeah I like both franchises. Team sonic acing has been good for me so far. I just wish they had more characters is all
Sonic has a lot of characters, they could add a lot more, i don't know why they have that little roster, Crash Bandicoot doesn't has a lot of characters yet they added a lot. Sonic as a franchise has a lot more than Crash.

Sonic still fails in his legacy
No he doesn't, you dimwit! I discuss science stuff way above your pay grade!
Crash all thee way ! That’s just how I am programmed since childhood
Why are we even comparing this? We all know the real deal. Sonic doesn’t stand a chance. Crash team racing will be awesome
Thank you sonic is a total fail I did 2 races and said this thing sucks cars dont even function well either super boring ctr gonna destroy
both games occupy different aspects of kart racing. I think Crash will do great, but the mechanics in Sonic will keep people around.
I personally have a hard time drifting quickly in CTR, so the controls aren’t that sharp to me.
The 3-way comparison of CTR, TSR, and Mario Kart 8 at 1:15 tells you all you need to know.
CTR, great as its gameplay is, can't compete with the big boys unless it runs at 60fps. It's mind boggling that Activision let it run at 30.
Remember the team aspect in Nitro Kart? No? Yeah, that was a thing.
@@Abyssreaper99 You can disable it on TSR
Too bad Mario Kart 8 steals CNK's anti gravity mechanic, and TSR steals it's team mechanic.
Nice video bro, i was curious about TSR. Your video helped me a lot, thanks. Cant wait to play CTR after so many years..
MAG BR tsr is really fun if you want to play with friends. I got the game and I’m really enjoying it
i suggest watching The Completionists video on TSR if you want a more in-depth look at the game.
@@JDReC100 well thanks for the suggest, i will watch
I'm not a hater but I'll be honest. TSR is just worse than its predecessor All Stars Transformed.
- Smaller Roster
- Limited customization
- Online is broken
- Maps are uninspiring
- Items are op and removes any skill from the game
Everyone that I watched on Twitch try it and give it a chance, simply flashed it out due to the above reasons and said that they will wait for CTR:NF
Unless you are a hardcore Sonic fan this game is not worth it
I mean its still good tho
limited customization
items are op and removes any skill from the game.
Interesting take, but most people don't see what you see
-Smaller but better roster than CTR, MK8D, and SASRT
-Limited? I don't understand what you meant "limited". Changing parts are quite big in the whole game, and they aren't the only parts of customizations, not even close
- True af
- What?
CTR also has the nostalgia factor going for it being a remake of an old game from many people's childhoods
Nickelodeon Kart Racers is better than MK8, TSR, & CTR.
Disney SpeedStorm: Hold my beer.
My two reasons for not playing TSR are CTR, and Mario Maker 2.
Hmm may have to jump on the mario maker 2 bandwagon with you
What are the two reasons?
Can you play like with half screen like 2 person on one screen??
Team Sonic Racing is definitely better because it actually involves vital teamwork skills.
the Teamwork was a bad idea nobody like a Overwatch wannabe system look how Onrush ended
it was better if they made a sequel of All-Stars Transformed
Elias Nicolas Miranda don't mention OnRush. that is Codemasters' interpretation of Motorstorm.
@@hueyfreemanhisanimatedfrie925 Having a team mechanic isn't a pro for a game. Most racing games are supposed to be every man for themselves anyways. Where's the thrill of a race if you need to help carry your teammates?
Mike Anthony yeah, you got a point, although nfs rivals encourages teamwork within the racer and police teams.
@@hueyfreemanhisanimatedfrie925 I do like the idea Team Sonic Racing has, it's just for me personally I'm more of a solo person. I like to watch my own back and not worry about others.
Anyone else here who has beaten all developer times in CTR?
I did
I don't have the same issues you have with TSR, myself.
I think I’m gonna get
Sonic, not because of the frame rate or something, because I’m nostalgic.
All footage of CTR so far has been 30fps, so saying "we don't know" is kinda silly.
Is the game 60fps tho?
Akeeb no
Will ctrnf have a 60fps option? Honestly i coun't care less about giving up graphics in favor to a better flow. Why don't developers understand this.
Ikr. Specially on a kart race game. According to mmogames testing, the game run at 60fps only on Ps4 Pro and Xbox One X. 30fps on the Ps4 , Xbox One and Switch .
TSR runs with 60 FPS on all systems. (Switch = 30 FPS)
I’m spanish. It’s always nice to be able to learn english while watching such interesting videos 🤝
This is like making a Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice Vs Captain America: Civil War video.
CTR forever! But TSR is great aswell but Nitro-fueled has SO much more content
Well it’s easier to have more content when you are just remastering an already existing game instead of building a new game from the ground up.
@@Devin11246 yet even Mario Kart 8 has more content than TSR
It's insane that we got Mario, Sonic and Crash kart racing games this generation. Are we back in the 90s?
I own all three on the Switch.
CTR Is Better
Man with all those videos coming out about CTR I think I might start the OG CTR again
