Edit: OH I think I just figured out what's going on here. The two restaurants, Toxic Burger and Nuclear Pizza, are at war with eachother, literally, as in full on space battle literally. In 11:44 you can even see that the two mascots aren't exactly friends. In fact since the battle progresses as the racers progress through the track, going back and forth between the two restaurants, it's almost like they're fighting over you, the customers
According to the Beenox blog, that's exactly what's going on. There's a war going on between the two restaurants, and both are vying for a sponsorship worth CTR TV. Cool little backstory!
Nina's part timer skin from CTTR would be perfect for this, at some point. Just sayin'.

By the looks of how small the road is and many sharp turn, this is definitely ine of the hardest tracks
I think that's what the idea is intended to be given that Velo is supposed to be the best racer in the galaxy, and a champion needs to have skills to get through even the toughest of tracks without breaking a sweat.
Dimas as-14 not really, Hot Air Skyway has far more narrow roads and turns, and personally I aways breeze thru it, this new track looks like a mixture of Hot Air Skyway with Electron Avenue. Hopefully it pays as much WCs as the former tracks pay.
Yeah it reminds me of Super Mario Kart's Rainbow Road which also had no railings but a simple design, however it was very easy to fly off the track, even in recent takes of it kept the same vibe...

HOWEVER, I think whoever did Emperor Velo's here, most likely André Sogliuzzo, actually did pretty great. Dare I say, I think it's phenomal! I really do believe that Velo's Nitro-Fueled voice actor really tried & did his best to make it sound almost or exactly like Steve Blum's performance, and despite a tiny bit of minor / slight differences, I believe that actor SUCCEEDED in that goal!

Still a little confused as to why he wasn't included in the initial roster when every other CNK racer was, but I'm just happy to see our Emperor again.
Guess they wanted to save the best for last.

Dude I was thinking the same thing. I was looking forward to that the most. Steve Blum even said that he was available to voice him...still I'm glad we even have Velo at all.

@@VanillaVictini and that's why i felt sorry for Steve. Seriously he was up and ready to voice the Emperor. Only to be ignored later. I don't know why they don't bring back the old voice actors during the Grand Prix events (maybe only except the Spyro Grand Prix). Either they have already voiced Emperor Velo a long time ago or they just don't want to bring him back for some unknown reason. But everything else in this Grand Prix is amazing.
Finally a track for turn-based driving style ? There are so many shortcuts, I don't even remember half of them!
Let's hope they'll release characters from Twinsanity in the future, and finally a skin for Geary... fingers crossed!

So the shortcut that spyro took is only available when your on the orange pads, it looks like certain shortcuts can only be use if the right colour turbo pad is active

When i first saw the reveal trailer, my eyes started to bring me tears of joy, remembering to me the good times i passed with Crash Nitro Kart and how difficult was to unlock Velo, alongside beating his times in Time Trial

I'm not a huge fan of the customization with a character but I absolutely love this new world especially that little touch at the beginning where it says welcome to toxic Burger too funny I think they nailed it out of the park with this one to be honest
Excerpt from blog: PLUS, Players can unlock two additional Champion Decals this season - - one for beating all of Nitros Oxide’s times in the Time Trials and one for beating all of Emperor Velo’s times in the time trials. I just hope these decals aren't limited to this Grand Prix and can be done at anytime like King Chicken & his 5 Golden eggs.
The part where you choose either toxic burger or nuclear pizza reminds me of that mechanic in Wangan Midnight, which is an arcade racing game, in which whoever is taking the first place will choose which route to take in the track. Man, imagine a ctr track that keeps changing depending on which route the first place racer chose.

The Spyro skin is underwhelming, they could’ve been more creative. Brio has the coolest skin this Grand Prix imo.

2:24 i hate when the AI do that especially on hard where we are all going fast and somehow i land on top of their head which kills my speed.
It's also worth pointing out that Tawna's look here is fairly reminiscent of Captain Harlock, a famous manga/anime space pirate.
That being said, N. Brio's first legendary skin is absolutely worth the wait.

@7:40 the locations or positions of the speed boots did not change, and were not swapped. When the player in 1st goes through the Pizza or Burger, their appointed speed boosts will be enabled, while the other is turned off.
although this grandprix is awesome... they kinda overhyped it, since at the end of the day , i wouldnt call it going out with a bang if you dont give any skins to people who deserved it ( my robot homie ) and just 1 new character that was very predictable. it would've been hype if they added more characters in this ( i know there is more characters on the way but still ) or added the story mode of nitro karts.
i am still pleased though , just think it's not really much of a bang to end on. fantastic track though!

this track combines both oxides and velos track even though it is like hot air skyway so its like they combined those 2 into 1
