  • Horrific animal cruelty was taking place at a dog breeding mill in Korea. More than 1,400 dogs were crammed into a small space at a kennel that was only licensed to hold 400 dogs. Euthanasia was taking place without a veterinarian, and freezers were filled with dead dogs wrapped in newspaper. What was really going on here?

    You can’t walk anywhere in Seoul without seeing a person and their “perfect” white fluffy dog. Everyone wants the same dog it feels like, no wonder they’re bread on end… I’m glad people realise to adopt instead of buy, there is always pets waiting for a home!

      Koreans generally favor smaller dogs; they’re afraid of big dogs.

    Great documentary, great journalism. Animal cruelty and abuse continues to be a big problem in South Korea. It’s a stain on the korean society and it’s unacceptable.

    My dog (I do not live in Korea, but this a problem all over the world) came from a similar mill, we only learned about it when it was all over the news. Disgusting. My dog is our first pet, and we would definitely never buy an animal again.

    This is why adopting animals from shelters is important or atleast a breeder with a good reputation and you can see for yourself that conditions are healthy

    Even the legal puppy mill near the end of the video looks so inhumane... The dogs are still raised above in cages, not touching the ground...

      @Spidercandy957 5 месяцев назад +1

      I agree! Even if it’s legal, it’s not humane. Dogs there are still treated as property, not as social, living beings.

    I’ve met some kindhearted people in Korea who treated their dogs very well, but more often I’ve seen people showing off their brand new puppy only to ignore or dump it a few months later because the puppy had grown a couple of centimeters and they lost interest. If a breed gets trendy on social media, the kill shelters will be full of them within the next 6 months. There’s a 10 day hold in most places and then the dogs get euthanized because the shelters can’t keep up and adopting dogs is not fashionable. Ideal conditions for puppy mills to keep breeding and continuously rake in money. There’s a warped mentality in which small dogs are meant to be trendy fashion accessories and bigger breeds are meant to live outside on a chain or in a cage. Neither are living life as a dog deserves to.

    • @oceanrocks
      @oceanrocks 5 месяцев назад

      Their mentality on bigger dogs living in cages or being chained likely comes from all the news videos of Pitbulls/larger dogs attacking citizens on the streets.
