lol. The Stangg deck I played in this episode is the SAME deck as the one played in Commander At Home. I borrowed it from AD! They just happened to come out back to back.
Rachel, there was a Bothersome Quasit in both this game and C@H, and you didn't say "he's so bothersome" for either, and I was bummed. It's like the "Staaaang" thing the others were doing, I feel like the line /must/ be uttered.
I had a stangg deck, the games usually went how this one went, it's too slow, he has no haste (he really should), equipment/auras take too long to gather on him and in red/green it's too hard to protect him (no counter spells). I ended up taking it apart because it's just too weak and boring.
@@shinigami052 Tamiyos Safekeeping, Deflecting Swat, Veil Of Summer, Tyvar's Stand, Heroic Intervention, Tibalt's Trickery, Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast + all the good hexproof auras/equipments should really be enought to let him stick around. Curious what the logic was behind using Beast Within to take out the Remora which was likely going away anyway rather than taking out the giant goading dragon that was going to run train on the table.

I've got to ask : did Rachel build Stangg BEFORE or AFTER filming the recent Commander at Home video with Kibler, Olivia and Aaron Defazio ? Since Aaron was also playing Stangg, I found that timing quite funny ^^
This game was fantastic! Just a really great vibe where everyone seems like they're having fun. Maybe just the combination of players, but maybe people bringing the decks they own/ realy like was contributing too
great win! such a huge hand at the end too. that's gotta be so hard to overcome of the game was able to continue. keep up the awesome work everyone! love your videos!
I've been waiting ti see Firkraag in one of these for so long. One of my favorite commanders, Goad is just so fun to play. Glad to see the groups reactions to Firkraag are basically the same as my groups 😂
@@garrettanderson1580 Funny thing is that he actually won the game without using the block buster dragon thet tipically appear in that kind of tribal dragon deck (as Lathliss, Mount Velus or Terror of the Peaks).
omg Rachel making a Pia Nalaar deck with Neyali in the 99. my Neyali deck has Pia Nalaar in the 99, and there's so much great synergy there no matter how they're grouped up together. definitely watching the deck and taking notes for more ideas
Great episode! Hoping we get 2 game knights episodes for karlov manor, one with commanders from the set and one where you guys dress up for the clue cards
So I just got the packs that I bought on your guys whatnot stream. 2 wilds of eldraine set boosters. And the first pack was a banger. 5 rares. The 2 that were awesome was a throne of eldraine and a virtue of knowledge showcase card. The second pack was a dud, but what a pull from a pack I bought from you guys!
Over the summer I built a budget challenge version of Stangg Echo warrior that at the Time hit like 36 bucks on TCG lowest. It's silly how well that deck can actually stomp if it's allowed to live.
I always love the Ultra Pro ads that try to sell it as the epitome of card protection. Then people actually go out and buy Ultra Pro sleeves and they split/ ripple after a single game lmao.
I think I figured out what I don’t like about Extra Turns, and it’s the space boarder around the whole episode. I zoomed my screen to try to focus on souly the game as much as possible, and it just felt like another episode of classic game knights. I was able to just focus more on the game rather then all these other distracting elements going on outside the game,
I know it's a nitpick, but the land fetched with Fabled Passage enters tapped, then untaps if you control 4 or more. I understand that it's a shorthand, but it's inaccurate all the same. Still a great game though
Notably! Grenzo's trigger only goads target creature the damaged player controls. One would have to target the throne. Which would trigger the ward and probably fail. Couldn't hit the dragon *and* karlach.
Josh needed Rachel to survive. He shouldn't have politicked for Jamie to attack her. Jamie probably still would have, but it certainly wasn't in the table's interest.
lol. The Stangg deck I played in this episode is the SAME deck as the one played in Commander At Home. I borrowed it from AD! They just happened to come out back to back.
I was just about to comment "Wait a second, this all seems very familiar." Until I saw this.
It looked very strong!
wish i would have read this first before going through both decklist to find a difference lol
If only you had drawn frog tongue 😭😭😂😂

Crim is NOT playing Dimir? He's playing BOTH a green deck & an artifact deck? He has become the very evil he swore to destroy!
s h o c k e d
Unfortunately he wasn't really playing a deck at all here.
Crim did miss the opportunity to toss out a casual ‘clash on’ at the beginning.
Pretty sure it was a double. No dimir/grixis, no free counter spells and hitting every land drop... That's not the Crim I know and love😂
He was supposed to be the chosen one!
Would love to see a game where each person builds a deck they think another person would enjoy piloting.
That would be dope
My close playgroup does that for secret Santa each year. It's a lot of fun.
awesome@@ThisIsACommanderChannel
Mtg Goldfish does secret Santa commander games, but they do it on magic online
Decked Out does that too…
8:52 You impolitely play swift foot boots when you have a blightsteel colossus on the board.
Okay, the 'Did you pay the one?' poster with Josh on it is unexpected, but a fitting poster all the same.
Rachel playing Stangg right after we see it on Commander at Home is hilarious. I see I wasn't the only one intrigued by it 😅
Well that was her partner playing Stangg, I think. So she’s not unfamiliar with it. Heard her talk about it before.
@@CAPTAINCHAOS_ oh I must have missed that. That's awesome!
I love Extra Turns, pure ganeplay is always fun and the personal decks is also nice.
I love all the banter in this game. It’s great to see the interaction between the players.
You have no idea how much joy it brings me to see ol' Firkraag in this one. ❤
That was my favorite victory from an extra turns game. First victory for Jamie and the “I won with GOAAAAAD” had me rolling. Great game
Thanks for finally showing off underrated commander Stangg! One of my favorite decks of mine :)

Petion to have Seth better known as SaffronOlive on the show someday! Love the whole MTG Goldfish crew!

I was wondering that as well.
Probably thought goading it was enough, and also forgot Firkraag can trigger itself when goaded (the draw part)
Better card. Was not going away for some time. Could be drawing tonsbefore that
I love crims positive energy, even if a game runs realy bad for him ❤

The writing for the player and deck introductions was next level this episode. If each player came up with their own intros, well done!
This episode seems more lively and wholesome than usual, probably cause Crim Rachel and Jamie are pretty cool
Ive never seen Josh this lively either, probably gonna be my favourite episode in terms of group interactiib haha
Whoever did the editing for this episode you are amazing
As a fellow Firkraag player it makes me excited seeing someone else have a build with him. Super awesome
Now you got me wanting to make a Stangg deck, Rachel.
Stangg is sick!
Did you watch yesterday's Commander at Home? They got to flex Stangg a little more there
@cloudedbug30 I did not unfortunately.
Great seeing stangg again after you played against it on Commander at Home.
Is it the same deck (borrowed) ?
@@Dragon_Fyre My guess is this was filmed first because of the production etc. maybe borrowed in the Commanded at home game
Her Boyfriend (Aaron) played it on CAH so I assume she borrowed it for this episode. It looks like an extremely fun deck to pilot.
It does look like a sweet deck. AD plays a lot of cool decks
As someone with a stangg deck I can confirm it is a fun deck. Sometimes gets out of hand out of nowhere
