It's honestly just a bad card for all the reasons you just laid out. I don't play it cuz It gives to much value for what it does. That's common for people to benefit by you giving them creatures and sometimes yoyr playing against 2 tymna decks and a winota deck and there's 0 good choices

This is now my favorite Extra Turns episode released so far. That was awesome.
I share that feeling. The interactions. The deck design. The spite of ridding the table of Josh. Everything was there!

That Act of Authority save was magnificent.

Too bad it was followed up with a misplay. Probably would have affected the outcome, but it was still a great game.

@@calenhoover1124 I don't think it would have changed the outcome a lot. With "Sword" and Griff she wouldve dealt 5 damage after jim removes the trumpet (because the spirit can block 1 damage). If he draws something to keep him alive (except for angels Grace or intervention pact) it can be removed in rachels upkeep anyways because she would control Act of Authoriy by then. If he refuses to draw for Sanctuary, Griff swings in the air for 4 which is lethal.
If he refuses to draw for sanctuary and uses words of worship instead, an infinitely large lair of the hydra eats him away. Angels Grace and Pact would keep him alive for 1 more turn without changing life totals (no dmg cause of Maze of ith) but thats it. Torment was binned before and he has no flying creature in the deck that neither dies to act of authority nor blocks against sword.
And we didnt even consider Rachels infinite amount of Mana of all Colors.
(Edit): she had nothing else to do with her infinite mana then creating infinite hippos. But Ezuris Predation and Reins of Power would been game ending draws. With Arachnogenesis as defense and questing pheldagriff (and one of the many tutors for it) she had the way better outs.
@@disfunctinable I also had Dingus Staff on board and at least three more wipes in the deck. If I remember correctly, I had a Supreme Verdict I'd been sitting on in my hand.
I always appreciate how hard Olivia goes all-in. Like, she didn't **need** to drop to 1 life to kill Josh, but she did it anyway just to assert her dominance. Respect.

I love when Oliva targets jim and they ask for relevant things he goes "oh yeah just a bunch of lands" as he throws a razaketh in the yard lol
Three magnificent things that happened here:
30.000 damage done by giving away hippos.
Surviving said damage by preventing it and nullifying it, on the turn after it happened.
Turning the profits of an unchecked Soul Warden into a one shot kamikaze mill kill.
I love Magic.
Im always impressed whenever I see Rachel play on a Commander show, she has some super spicy combos that are a joy to watch. Having Jim on was also super exciting, especially with such an interesting deck.
Jim's great because he approaches his decks with a cEDH philosophy no matter the power level the deck he's building is going to be at. They're always interesting, tuned and aiming to win.
Olivia's laughter when killing Josh is so infectious!
Doubly so since she killed Josh with a Phyrexian.
Is a revenge kill for the last game knight. Olivia plan this....🤣
This was one of the most creative and wild games yet! So many sick plays!

I noticed a little rules misstep: The "Act of Authority" says the controller of the exiled card gains control of it, so Jim should have kept ahold of it. That could have changed the outcome of the game.
It would, Angels trumpet would be exiled.
Definitely would have, Angel's Trumpet would have gotten exiled.

@@mattryan1461 Remember though, the 40 mins we see is more like 3 hours for them, easy. It was likely getting late and people make mistakes. CAG doesn't mean they play perfectly, nor are expected to.

Jim: I attempt to end my turn again.....solid gold right there.....
The last few turns were missed played because of intruder alarm saying you can not untap your creaturers during your untap step. However I dont think it would of change anything.
The Act of Authority also said "its controller", referring to the target. So Jim should have kept it since he targeted an enchantment HE owned, not Rachel.
Love the crisp plays of all the seasoned players. They clearly knew their deck well as well as the other cards in their opponents deck. More CAG games please!
we just not gonna acknowledge how smooth Olivia grabbed her cards at the start of the game? Had to rewind that one.

No matter what power level you play at in commander, combo is the best line.
she plays to win, its refreshing actually. Literally the opposite of Olivia.
@@skykur Olivia had the most fun and created the most memorable, funny moment for the whole table though - even Josh himself was laughing along. I'm gonna remember that far more than the last few turns, for sure. Winning isn't everything. Hell, in the long-term, remembering your wins over amazing moments is pure ego.

It exiled Delaying Shield, and its controller was Jim. I don't see why it goes to Rachel ?
Amazing game. Everyone did a lot with some awesome decks. Rachel is my personal favorite since you can see her thinking a dozen steps ahead but everyone played their decks well and it looked fun!
This is the best extra game i ever watched so far. So much really cool things happening and the four decks being played did really amazing stuff. And the best of all is Olivia "trolling" a win against Josh in a very unexpected way. I'm a Josh fan but that over-the-top way Olivia eliminated him made me laugh so hard. Also Rachel doing that infinite hippo combo and forgot about the shield was also hilarious but still really cool 😌
Nice alliteration in the intro, Olivia! Seeing your Thalisse deck both here and on AliasV’s channel has inspired me to build one!

What was the commander?
Reminds me of my Heartless Hidetsugu deck with damage doubling effects. Literally nuke everyones life total all at once. Needless to say I got targeted reaaal hard after I pulled it off the first time lol.

Somehow I think the issue is not money but "why should I put this one lil' card to maybe save me from a specific losecon - that sure is my bane, tho, but who cares - when I could slot in this card that allows me to draw 2 more cards?"
Play kozilek butcher it draws 4 or play ulamog which it removal
Except in this deck’s case it’s not even just to prevent a specific losecon, it reads “pitch me with shorikai and I get to shuffle anything that’s been put into the graveyard and re-draw and play them again” since I’m guessing (haven’t checked the deck lists yet) that JLK has a way to go infinite draw and mana with this deck, so getting to infinitely draw your deck and play the best stuff repeatedly sounds like a good deal to me.

her atraxa enchantress deck. Have you seen her lillana deck with 26 lands? it's mention in a command zone she hosted with ashlen. It's so dumb and ridiculously fun to watch on her streams

First time watching after my buddy has been raving about the channel. Very educational, informative, and entertaining. I think I was mostly impressed by what I assume was audio editing but overall I was very impressed. Can't wait to watch the next one. And the previous one.
