@@liddantheone however, Jordan did not say he wouldn't attack Josh. He asked Josh if he wouldn't kill it if he attacked him, to which Josh said yes. A question was posed but a deal never confirmed, at least on camera. And regardless, Josh did kill it when Jordan did attack, thus confirming Joshes statement of not killing if it he didn't attack. Don't sleep on old Nikki B, he can be DISGUSTING, especially as his ability triggers on ALL damage not just Combat damage. Drop a Dragon Tempest before casting him. He pings an opponent for 1 damage. BOOM their hand is gone. He then also has haste from the Tempest, so you hit another player in combat for 7 commander damage, oh and they discard their entire hand too, on the same turn! Now imagine that with Waste Not in play! Cards, mana for extra plays, or build-your-own-zombie-horde. For free!
Then imagine him having something like Quicksilver Dagger enchanted so he can ping at instant speed and draw.

Jordan asked "will you not kill it if I say I won't swing it at you"
Then Josh confirmed he would not kill it because he was worried about Craig. As of that moment, the deal is "I will not kill the AD if you do not swing it at me", then he follows up with the vaguest nonstatement "it is not my preference to kill it" which means nothing, you already said you would not kill it.
Then when someone |(probably jokingly) said "now you have to kill it" and Jordan presses Josh, Josh backtracks with, "I said 'it's not my preference to kill it'", which means from JOSH'S perspective there was no deal made. So now Jordan is free to swing into Josh because JOSH decided to play word games and have his cake and eat it too.
If Josh had stuck to his word and said "yeah I said I wouldn't kill the AD so long as you don't swing at me" then the deal is in play, and Jordan can't swing in or HE breaks the deal.
Adding a little clarifying statement like "it's not my first choice" to every time you have a potential answer is some far-reaching lawyering shenaniganery and I personally would have been absolutely pissed if someone tried to pull that one me. Josh explicitly said "yeah I won't kill it, I have bigger problems" then tried to choose which option was easier for him when push came to shove, and that's the kind of stuff that would make me wary of every making future deals with him because I would be afraid he would pull something like that.
I'm all for being specific with deals, like saying "I won't swing at you doesn't mean I can't destroy your board that wasn't in the deal" but this was full-on backtracking and trying to act like he hadn't said what he said. What, do you need a blood signed contract to hold you to your word in commander?

@@Aaron-qe9ms The bet had nothing to do with keeping the deal they made/didn't make. He said that Josh agreed to it, Josh claimed he didn't. Josh said "Yeah! I need to protect myself from Craig" and clearly agreed to it, confirming Jordan's belief, they showed it in the video. Jordan then attacked with the Apex anyway making the deal moot, Josh could have killed it and kept his word. However, Josh straight up lied when he claimed he never agreed to the deal in the first place and only stated it was his preference not to kill it. He tried to pull some of his bullshit doublespeak after Jordan already moved on and was definitely not enough to negate that fact that he just accepted Jordan's terms.

okay, hot take here on the bet situation:
It's clear and on record that josh said he wouldn't kill the predator. That was what the bet was about. He clearly owes Jordan 50 bucks. Him saying later that it isn't his preference doesn't somehow revoke the former statement, those don't even contradict each other.
    But:
in terms of game deals, I would argue that this exchange doesn't actually qualify as a deal made between them. Jordan asked Josh a question (will you not kill it if I dont attack you), and josh answered. That is not the same as saying "let's make a deal, I don't attack you and you don't kill my thing". It's just a statement about what he will do.
So in that scenario, Jordan didn't break any deal by attacking josh with the predator, because there was no deal made. Josh would't have broken any deal killing the Predator, since there was no deal made.
However, killing the Predator without Jordan attacking him would absoluteley make him a liar, because he said he wouldn't. But not a deal breaker. Whichever is wose is up to you to decide.

If I were Jordan I would have understood what Josh said as saying he wasn't gonna kill it. That being said, I also understand Josh not seeing it that way. In his mind saying "it's not my preference to kill it" was clarification for his first statement which was that he wouldn't kill it. But they were two separate statements, and my understanding was that the second was an explanation of the first and not an amendment. It's just one of those things where the communication was not understood the same way by the two parties.

Then, when Jordan has the ability to break Rhystic Study, with a card that breaks *Two* enchantment/artifacts, he breaks two mana rocks that Josh has. I understand some revenge, but he tunnel visions so terribly and breaks a Ebony Fly over Rhystic Study. Those two cards aren't even in the same Bracket of power level. One is a mana rock for colorless that comes in tapped. One is universally known and, throughout the game draws waaaay too many cards. But Jordan breaks the Fly and it isn't spoken about. I assume that the guys chose to have a casual game and accept the playful 'haha, you got me back on that one'. Even when it's *objectively* the wrong play. Similar to when the concordant crossroads bites him because he doesn't remember the haste is on all creatures. A lot of tunnel vision. Now, again, not hating on the guys, but it would be appropriate to say they aren't playing optimally, or competitively. They are playing *Casually*. The ebondeth was never the point of my post, but sure. Good timing on that.
