Thanks a lot man! This is a great video, and i personally really appreciate you taking the time to make it.
Great video! extremely helpful! it gives me the confidence to do this myself.
I learned so much from this great video! Thank you for making it. Any idea is the process is much different on the 02/K2 engine? I have one in my track car and even though it only weighs 460kg (just over 1000lbs) it's very difficult to get off the line and stalls very easily when trying to pull away. Do I need to upgrade the springs, the plates or the whole lot? Does anyone know please! Thank you!
Excellent video...I'm changing my clutch pack this weekend...got the friction plates soaking in oil now. CBR 1000RR 2005
great video. very well explained. thank you. keep it up u are good at explaining it very well. thanks again and keep the rubber on the road. 👊
VERY GOOD VIDEO. VERY INFORMATIVE AND EASY TO WATCH AND UNDERSTAND
Thanks.. Great work and great video production work too.
Very informative and helpful thanks for posting!
thanks so much for the info...attempting a clutch replacement on my 99 intruder 1500LC will get parts soon thanx again DAVE
thanks for the help you were right it was the bottom adjuster once again thanks
really good vid man. i just have one question. if your changing the clutch plates and u find that ur steel plates are "bluing", can u just sand them down a lil if they arent warped?? i have a 2000 yamaha r1
tanks for your help man. I was just wondering. Will a k4- k6 clutsh fit a k2
@pikey i jus took it apart, i didnt see anything broken. I removed all the rings and oiled the fiberes ones, it too easy to move clutch kever by hand, almost as if the pin that pull the stack in isnt grabing the stack. Seems like it needs a washer to shorten the grabbing length, u feel me???
Thanks alot man i watched your other video and was able to fix my bike and i have it up and running.
i placed the spring washer with the dome pointing in towards the motor can you tell me if this is correct? was kind of confusing understanding it in the video.
anyhow thanks alot for your help so far!
Thanks!
Great, informative video by the way.
Great video!!! Thanks for posting.
great video thanks for your time and help
Thanks for fast reply. I'm starting to believe that might be the linkage. the funny thing is that sometimes it does this and other times it's ok (yesterday it did, and today is okay) strange. Sometimes I comment with friends that this is not a problem, it's feature ( "Clock" -> You have shifted one gear ).
Just hope it's not a gear shift fork, neverthless I guess that this might be a big bucks inspection/repair.
thank you man you are a big help
one more question, did you go with an aftermarket clutch replacement, or did you replace with oem? I ask because vaguely remember a reference to "aluminum material expansion" but I cant remember what that was in reference too.
Lastly, are the aftermarket plates that much of an improvement vs oem? I understand the aftermarket springs show vast improvement.
i've heard poor reviews on the Barnet clutch kit, but nothing about DP or EBC.
tanks. I have a gaxr 1000 k2. I have to put a k2 back in it.
ore is there some way the k4 can fit.
Behind the left fairing I took that resavoir off and adjusted it with the 10mm
Nice vid.
Thanks from seattle
OK....got it, think I'm going to start there by replacing the clutch....but which clutch would you recommend>? Stock, EBC, Versiah, DP ect....????
@pikey 03 yamaha r6, cable clutch....i move the clutch lever down low with my hand want hv any affect on clutch, i look thru oil fill only thing that moves is the pin in and out, but i was anble to ride home by starting it n 2nd and playn with throttle and switching gears with rpm n speed adjustments....sol
good video. ive seen a lot of other videos and some will cheap out and silicone the clutch cover back on...
thanks for the response its an 01 gsxr 1000 has 19*** miles on it
Let me ask, i have a rear stand, but obviously it just will raise the rear of the bike and not keep it tilted to the left side kickstand. Will that suffice to save any oil from leaking? ...or do I need to have it up AND tilted to the left?
nice vid bro helped me alot but i have come across an issue and that is, i originally changed the clutch cuz it was slipping after i changed and all was put back together i rode it and its still slipping not trying to take apart again can you tell me what the problem could be
Hi, Pikey416 excelent video, mind I ask you one thing?
I own a GSR600 (shares the same engine that GXR600), when I shift up (from 2nd to 3rd & sometimes 4th) I have a hard "clok" sound since I remember (~3 years), even after oil change.
This happens at 5-7 MRpm (after that with the exaust noise I can't ear, but sometimes I can feel it), Clutch does'nt slip but on 2nd/3rd with hard rear breaking sometimes it "auto" downshifts. Clutch basket/spring adjustment ? Gear box ? Can you coment please ?
Thank you!
i didnt understand about the orientation knotch were would i see that again
do u have to drain the oil out before u work on it.
Ok so I have a 01 Gsxr 1k and when I I let the clutch go the bike does not move ? would it be the clutch, I've tried adjusting it and it had a little motion but still goes no where would I need a new clutch
My clutch jus suddenly wont engage or alow me to switch gears or allow me to start in 1st gear. Could it be the pressure pin/bolt not pulling
ok finally some one help me tank you
Pikey NEED your help-2004GSXR750R-if my bike in 6th gear around 6000rpm just rev's up but doesn't go foward, is that the clutch you think? ABLE to go through all the gears and drives fine until I get to the 6th gear around 6000. I replaced all three shift forks, what gives?> ANY HELP would help thanks man--- great vid!
@pikey my dunb ass figured it out, i confused break the cable with bad clutch. I thoight movn the lever wit my hand was enough, acually i need the new cable to b able to move that sucker, so im just waitn on my cable to arive....thnx for ur support any ways....at least i hv clutch installing practice now lol!!!...
hi mate thanx for nice explanation. I owe 1000k1 do u know if i have to use them 2spring washers on my clutch ? my service manual not shoving any washers just drive and driven plates but heynes manual does....not sure what is correct...thanx
Get a factory service manual for your year and model. All that info should be in there with illustrations. Haynes is not a reliable source of info imo
Cool thanks
thanks man
Hi i opened all my clutch plates for inspection and put all back together but the problem is the cabel now its totaly lose with no grip at all.before inspection cable worked perfect, what have i done wrong?please help :)gsxr 750 K4
I replaced my clutch plates today on my k4 1000
and after i replaced the fiber plates for new ones. the release pin doesn't come out far enoughf to disengage te clutch. Can anyone fill me in on how i can solve this?
Thanks for the help money>>>>
NICE
Might just need an oil change....or change the oil brand. Some oils make clutches shift very rough while other oils shift very smooth. Could just be clutch cable adjustment is off as well
I adjusted it from the top and from the left lower and the bike won't go even with some throttle
não esqueça de trocar o óleo e adicionar militec1.....KKKKKK.... look may video...traxx joto 135 or jialing traxx 135 or moto traxx or moto chinesas or jialing joto 135 or pet fininizini.....may pet....thanks....
I can't imagine how your bike will roll off on its stand, zipping the brake lever was totally unnecessary. You can also use power tools to remove fairing fasteners, just hand tighten them afterwards
What mirrors are those you have on the bike ?
It was the cable
Excuse the spelling, im drivn a d same time
you should buy a torque wrench!
