Girl you ain't lying about mint spreading. One year for my birthday one of our daughters bought me 1 (just 1) spearmint plant and I planted it in an area out by our shed. It spread a little that summer but holy cow the next spring that stuff started popping up EVERYWHERE! I had so much mint I couldn't even give it all away. Cleaning out the frig really reminds me of my mom. When all of us girls were still at home, she used to take all leftovers out of the frig on Saturday and make a pot of soup. It was never the same twice but always good and as a child I remember loving momma's soup days. Sometimes we had crackers with the soup, sometimes what we called "fried crispy cornbread crackers" and sometimes biscuits. It all depended on what she had. We weren't poor by any means nor really rich. Mama was and still is just gifted with using what was/is on hand and making a meal out of it. Great video of what real life is like.
Wow your mom sounds amazing and that’s how I want to be! I am inspired by your family soup night and will definitely need to work on making a soup when we clean out! Haha you’re right about the mint! It’s actually also good at keeping flies mosquitoes away!
Seeing you peel the banana stickers made me think back to when I was a kid. We would peel all the produce stickers and then I would put them in my sticker book. At the end of the month, we would count all the stickers and see how many varieties there were. It was also a fun way for me to learn seasonal produce.
That’s so cute putting the stickers onto a sticker book! I can’t stand these stickers 😂😂 they put so many in to every single Apple or banana ugh!! Just 1 per bunch is enough!
Great video. Beautiful family. Everyone likes to help and be needed. Thank you for the time you take to post these. You and your family are the real deal.
Lovely muffins. It was a delicious lunch. I like Beyond sausages...the spicey ones. Made a potato salad with green peppers which was new for me. Had corn, strawberries and peaches from the only farm near me...they were yum. Its a crime we don't have more farm stands...I know its hard work but what joy to eat their produce.
I would love to have a farm stand in fact when we grow our own fruits and veggies Trey wants to have a free stand just outside our property to share with our community all the abundance we get. I love the spicy sausages myself yummy!!
Hi Rosa! This all looks so good. I hope you are all doing well. Mint is so lovely in so many things. I cut those flowers off as soon as I see them. That way the plant bushes out and you get some nice big leaves. You remind me of my sister, who is such a natural cook like you. Peace and love. 💗
Hi Mary! Oh good idea I will pick those flowers off from now on! Honestly the mint leaves were pretty great and I think I blended the flower too ha! Figured it had flavor too 😆
I love ripe banana i planted them. I had up to 14 hands stem. Theycan make Ice cream as well as those you MENTIONED. Clean out fridge day is always very interestingly creative. I preferred banana bread.😊😂👍🇯🇲❤
That’s a great idea a smorgasbord of sorts! We do that sometimes too and it helps, just tell the kids they need to eat everything or we won’t be making any new food 😝
Hi Leeanne! Oof bugs are troublesome but they are also a good sign your plants don’t have pesticides! You can spray your plant with neem oil or also add diatomaceous earth around your pot or plant to make sure no bugs come around or they die

I find it very satisfying to wing it, and clear out the fridge and come up with something delicious. The muffins look heavenly!

That’s so cool you can plant bananas we cannot haha! I would love to make a banana ice cream for Trey my husband to eat, maybe I will try it out
@@thehaipath So easy in the vitamix/blendtec. Have fun!!
Our clean out fridge day often turns into a buffet where there is a bit of everything.
Those muffins did look good.
That’s a great idea a smorgasbord of sorts! We do that sometimes too and it helps, just tell the kids they need to eat everything or we won’t be making any new food 😝
@@thehaipath or no desert till all the dinner is eaten up 😅
@marlies7444 haha yes! That’s right!
One of the best herbs to grow in Az for me was basil. I miss all the fresh basil...
I love basil so much! We had planted some but we were way too late so unfortunately they didn’t come up. Maybe next year
Were can I find your recipe I really want to make some of them
Hi Kim! Honestly this was just us free styling in the kitchen ha! You can definitely make a similar one to this using your own seasonings and herbs!
We love mint but we get little bugs that leave our mint with holes. Any suggestions to keep them away?

@@thehaipath Thank you for the recommendations! Will definitely try that
