      I love clearance so much!! I used to coupon and believe many things you can get for very cheap and should never have to pay full price for!

    Have you tried giving your dog vegan dog food? My cat was on vegan cat food, and she loved it. Even our vet was amazed how well her health was on a vegan diet, she passed away in her sleep one week before her 20th birthday.

      Hello there, we believe that our animals dogs and cats should be eating meat, that's just in their nature so we choose to stick to that. I have recently incorporated vegetables in the dog food too and our picky eater seems to enjoy it.

    We spend about $130 / week in Arizona family of 4. Not strictly organic but we do have access to Winco and Aldi to lower the prices.
    The kids love Rocket mini apples so we splurge on those when available and cotton candy grapes.🍇

    • @thehaipath
      @thehaipath  3 месяца назад +1

      I’ve heard Aldi has really great prices on produce, but not all are organic either. We wish we had one here! We do have Costco/winco but they are about an hour and a half away so I feel it’s not worth the drive and membership.
      Rocket mini apples sounds so interesting! Don’t think we’ve tried those! And I have yet to find organic cotton candy grapes! The name of it sounds so good

      Hello friend!! Nice a whole month in groceries we’ve never done before! You’re pro for doing a whole months worth

    • @suzannemomma
      @suzannemomma 3 месяца назад +2

      @@thehaipath I started shopping once a month when I began meal prepping. It’s been a whole lot cheaper to feed myself this way, because it’s actually hard to cook for one! When I meal prep I make individual meals and I can pop them out of the freezer and it’s easy while I’m working. I’ll have a freezer meal two or three times a week, so I don’t have to meal prep consistently, I can wait until I run out. You would certainly need to have a whole lot of storage space coming home with a month’s worth of groceries for seven people!

    Nice grocery haul! Groceries are expensive these days, but for a family of 7 you did well especially getting so many organics. 👏 I wanted to get your thoughts about micro plastics. I’m trying to use more glass or stainless containers when possible. I decided it’s impossible to cut out all plastics. Ugh!

    • @thehaipath
      @thehaipath  3 месяца назад +1

      Groceries are very expensive and most items have the plastic packaging on them when your purchase!
      Microplastics are everywhere! In our blood and everywhere, at this point there’s not really anything we can do about it. There’s some talks on how we can detox it out of us but there’s not a lot of study on them and pretty much like the forever chemicals right now they’re inside of us and alls we can do is do our best to avoid using plastic items going forward and allow the body to do what it does to get rid of these unnatural materials that don’t belong to us.

    Honeycrisp apples are the bomb! Trying to be creative with budgeting. I think cooking for one is not fun at times. Its the non food items that break the budget...toilet paper, detergents, dishwasher stuff, cat litter, etc. Focusing on legumes and higher protein foods. Not a big salad eater...I like my veg separated...LOL. So...its a journey and a challenge. You are so creative with feeding your kiddos nutritious meals. I love grocery hauls. I shop between Dollar Tree, Walmart, OSJL, and 3 large grocery stores.

    • @thehaipath
      @thehaipath  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes this is true the non food items, I do include that in our budget when needed as well.
      Mary, I like my food separated a certain way too 😂 wow it looks like you have a lot of options for groceries, here in our small town only the 3.

    • @MaryAnnNute
      @MaryAnnNute 3 месяца назад

      @@thehaipath WELL...for a vegan its only certain items at certain stores. So I don't love jumping around from store to store until I need what they have. We have Market Basket which is the best prices...they are just in Mass and NH I think. Maybe you remember them when you were in NH? But they are not vegan friendly.

    Thank so much for all your videos and for sharing your beautiful family time. I have made so many of your dishes and I thank you for the ease in which they come together. I am also interested in how you prepare the turkey, rice and sweet potato for your dog and how you arrived at the healthy amount. I too, as a vegan, stress over the fact that my dog needs to eat otherwise and fully sympathize with your repugnance to the turkey. Are you cooking the turkey for your dog? We love our dog and want to do what is best for her. Thank you in advance for any advice you have time to give.

    • @thehaipath
      @thehaipath  3 месяца назад +2

      Hello Hilary! Thank you for joining us today. I cut the turkey package into a high side pot, I throw it in there no oil nothing and cook it on about medium high. It will create and cook in its own juices. I will make rice and sweet potato separate, sweet potato can be boiled or baked until soft. Then you can cut the sweet potato or crush with fingers once cooked together with the rice and mix the meat and the juice together. The dogs like the fat and juices from the meat.
      Yes we only make this for the dogs, we don’t eat this since we’re vegan. Keep it plain and simple, you can probably add potatoes or peas and carrots in, any veggie.
      Hope this helps!

    Not sure what your prices are but have you looked into Azure Standard for your spelt. I have also bought their Artisan Craft organic WW flour and it is fantastic. I've never made breads with spelt so not sure about that one. So far everything but fresh fruits have been really good from there. The fruits don't seem to travel well from Utah all the way to Florida. Watermelons in our area (and again we are in Florida) are just outrageously priced and even this summer they still seemed way high. Food in general has increased to the point I am going back to our more basic meals like we ate for years. Trying to grow more also. Really want to finish my greenhouse after this Hurricane passes today. We also go through a lot of grapes and apples. I tried those plant based sausages recently and they are good in pastas but I also made a black beans, sausage and rice dish that was really good with them. Girl I can eat Taziki with a spoon. I love that stuff and finding it plant based is awesome. For as many as you feed ( esp teen boys) and eating predominantly organic I think you did very well.
    You and your family inspire me. Good Bless you all and have a great week.

    • @thehaipath
      @thehaipath  3 месяца назад +1

      Hello friend! We have looked into azure which I think we will switch to soon because comparing the prices from Amazon, it’s cheaper on azure! The only down side is we have to buy it a bulk quantity all at once, so it’s like a months worth stock up and that costs more upfront. We will also need to find the pick up location here which I believe we have which isn’t a biggy.
      Our poor green house melted this summer and we tore it down 🥵🥵 excited to hear about your greenhouse project!
      It’s so difficult to grow things out here even in our green house because it’s so unbelievably hot!

    With tax I paid $147.30 for my monthly groceries. I try to buy fresh fruits and vegetables that last a long time. I always have cabbage, carrots, potatoes, onions, and those last well, fruit is a little more tricky, and I don’t eat nearly enough fruit.

      Frozen fruits for smoothies or to go on top of yogurt or oatmeal is one shelf stable way to get more fruits in. I try to do one big smoothie a day. And I eat bananas up real fast when they're nice and ripe (spotty). ❤

      @ I get a bag of cashew pieces from Amazon. It one kilo for 19.00 dollars and it lasts me two months. I keep it in the freezer. When I need some, I make two batches. I get two small bowls out, measure 1/3 cup into each bowl and pour boiling water over them. After about an hour, I drain them and put one bowl full into the blender. I noticed you have a blendtec like me. Just fill the blender to the fill line which is about halfway with water and blend it on high. Wait for about ten minutes then blitz it again. Let all the stuff settle to the bottom, then pour it into bottles. I use a small hand held strainer to pour the milk into the bottles. I can’t imagine my life without this. 😊
