- Despite how niche the Souls game pvp may seem, millions are interested in playing it, and many are even interested in getting competitive in it. Elden Ring will likely have the largest competitive scene of any souls game, but most players wont know where to go to find it. Today I show you around the Elden Ring PvP discord server, which will be THE place for organizing casual and competitive pvp, including a competitive ladder, tournament promotions, and tools to organize fight clubs and other online events.
The server is also a great place to chat even if you don't play PvP often, and despite the competitive element toxicity is not tolerated at all.

oh wow this is very cool i had no idea discord bots could be on this level, thanks for this! very useful to someone like me since it feels like the majority of pvpers are mad at anyone that doesn't have years of soulsborne pvp knowledge and seem to get even more mad if you are bad at it in the slightest so it has felt pretty gatekeepy regarding how to actually get into the pvp, so i appreciate this kind of thing a lot.
Although i feel pvp community is "underrated", it's amazing how organized it can be. That's really cool, although i'm not near a good PVPer i'll just join to see upclose heh

There was never anything like this in Dks3 when it was released. Not even remotely close to it
I feel like there should be a disclaimer at the beginning of the video that this server is in no way officially associated with FromSoftware or Bandai Namco and does not embody Elden Ring PVP officially as the standard. There's a considerable number of people roaming around the official Discord acting as if these rules are law, which they are not.
Regardless, the setup looks good! Looking forward to see what comes of Elden Ring's PVP scene in general, and I hope this serves as a means to get people's names out there!

My only question is about the old wolf thing, doesn't the host have a health advantage?
Summoned reds have there full health if they are embered when they put down there sign.

Man I've never played a dark souls and have no idea what I'm getting into but I'm interested in this game. Can some one give me a quick breakdown of the pvp system, like the parrys and stuff

Xbox is just a waste of cool green color roles.
Believe it or not, in another server that hosted a leaderboard for dark souls 3, Xbox was for a very long time the most active leaderboard. All platforms have had periods where they were the most active, PC is overall the most consistent tho I'd say. In any case with a brand new game all of them are sure to be very active

Cool idea. Not sure how i personally feel about wagering a bet as I don’t really gamble. I see it adding some additional motivation to win. Do you have to bet to participate?
No u don't have to bet at all. It's just a side mini game for ppl not playing to do as they see ppl who fight duel. So u will see two players in the middle of duel and before they announce score u can bet on who will win
Idk if your build is 40/40 but uninfused onikiri actually does more damage then refined in 40/40
yeah I wish uninfused were useful in more ways

Unfortunately the server is PvP focused, there are probably already other servers with either co-op channels or specialized co-op communities

So what happens if someone chooses to not report a loss or only one person reports themselves as a win, or both are falsely reported or accidentally reported incorrectly? Is this just a trust thing or?
Well if one side doesn't reports, mods get to report for the player based on the person who reported perspective. You can't falsely make the wrong score as if u and I posted two different scores, the bot won't accept it until u do it correctly
Video is great, but we also know a lot of trash players,like Grim or Salva, who will use all known glitches to win duel
Glitches aren't allowed in the server, if someone glitches against you just get some footage of your fight(can be done on ps not sure about xbox/pc) or record the next fight, after that send the video to a moderator they'll probably be banned or at least muted for a while

This is great and all, but the reason dark souls PvP is so crap, is because it's peer to peer and you get opponents all the way across the world, meaning the latency is WAY too high. I sort this out by having a NetDuma Router, which doesn't allow people outside of my region / ping requirement to connect to me, making it a somewhat enjoyable experience to PvP. Having these global wide duels would just feel inconsistent and unfair due to how high the ping in some matches would be, and some weapons work way better than others in high ping.
Also, how do you know your opponent is cheating? which is pretty common in this game.
The server has region roles which show in challenges and helps you avoid cross continent fights if you don't want too. Tournaments are often region locked too.
The leaderboard is designed to be flexible in who you fight, so you aren't ever forced to fight someone you have bad latency too if you don't want to.
As for cheating, I have been involved in running leaderboards for Dark Souls 3 since 2017. Actual cheating that involved third party tools happened a grand total of once in all that time. And it was very quickly noticed and dealt with. Theoretically you are right and it can be hard to detect, but in practice it isn't really a huge issue in my experience.

More active players are always better, latency can be a bitch but I personally wouldn’t care about it
@@haeuth684 I try PVP but its bad with the latency its very off putting for me and I imagine for people far away which seems to be most of the community usually against USA people cant imagine how bad it gets for them to invade. 415 Ping easy

Nope, eventually someone would either blow the whistle. or we'd pick up on the pattern.
Many measures were put to prevent that. First fighting the same ppl over and over gets much much less points. Since someone you don't know will likely not want to say they lost if they did win aka cheat, it means it isnt as simple as you think. We also have some hidden ways we can tell that we won't mention for good reasons to find out if someone is doing it or not.

Not possible, when i joined the ps ladder was not active at all, only me and one other player, i fought him and won most of the time and whenever he or i won we would get either no point at all or just 1

NETWORK TEST. IDK UDK nobody fucking knows. Miyazaki doesn't know, because the Launch version hasn't been finalized yet, and he refuses to play his own games. In the Network Test for DS3, Assassin started with a staff, spear, and Bloodborne hat. (That didn't end up in DS3.) Then, they got Bestoc at launch. Remember Bestoc? All right, well they fixed it once they found out that permastagger breaks the game, and now they're trying to strip all combos out of Elden Ring.

Remember when they fixed Poise? Of course not, because theorycrafters like you told everyone it was broken for 3 YEARS until "Working as intended" became an ironic meme, so nobody learned how Poise changed for Dark Souls 3. The 3 wisest words in every language are "I don't know."

I really hope this doesn't take off, any souls has and will never be any good for online pvp - it just turns the ugly in-side of the game out
just don't engage in pvp, why should your opinion ruin other peoples fun, clearly an entire community is enjoying PvP and only plays souls cause of it
PvP has always been the weakest link in From (with the notable exception of DS2) and they aren't doing much to improve

@DreddKnightVII I think being this cynical about it means nothing will happen. There isn't anything like souls pvp so instead of hammer it out of existence as if we have a million game like it, maybe see if you can improve it create something out of it. It is a business in the end for both Bandai and Fromsoft. If they see interest, they will eventually see ways to improve it and put more effort in balancing them. Which I definitely think they already know at this point with how sekiro came into the scene with a bigger fanbase than the older dks3 game. Yet it sold much less and it is much less active
