14:07 One thing you can do is equip a Greatshield that let's you use the Weapon Art of your weapon with the Farron Greatsword, it's the closest thing to a Greatshield that can Parry
Thanks, i never understood why many people use that shield in pvp, i couldn't see the advantages of using it over the llewellin shield. Now it is clear to me. Now i can parry... now I CAN FIGHT!!
Still gonna be rocking 8th place as my main tool since no one ever actually expects for someone to go for the parry on their 2nd or 3rd swing. Plus I like being able to still have the stamina to go for moves and have a potential subsequent reset roll after a single block. Small Shields and Off-Hands just scream "Hey look at me! I'm at one point during our fight am going to press the parry button! Whatever you do please don't do a WA or run behind me!"
I wouldn’t mind rocking a medium shield with a parry as I could still parry the attacks with lots of parriable frames pretty easily still, and it’s nice having that ready in those situations. However I like instantly being able to use my weapon arts, but that could be because I’m a hard swapper for the most part.
@@Amir0 Hm, I suppose it just depends on what the opponent(s) is bringing to the fight. A large portion of my pvp experience has been through mid-level invasions since i find it easier to find match making in a variety of areas. The Character I use is named Weapon Master as he hard swaps to random weapon classes every estus or so, I try to living up to the name the best I can but sometimes when fighting multiple opponents and I want to win; I end up swapping frequently to the Medium Shield just to have the ability to not fully commit to a series of attacks, and use the parry no one expects as they think i'm using it strictly as a defensive tool to deny damage. So they typically just try guard breaking with R1s which often leads to them being parried as a result. I just think generally swapping to any sort of small shield/parry tool will give away your intent. Typically better players will see that and use tactics to counter a parry or be more mindful on how they attack, effectively slightly changing their playstyle for better or worst. For invasions I can't really think of any decent offensive attack based WAs to use against multiple opponents dealing respectable damage or Poise Weapons as most attack based WAs are a risk that looks cool when successful but feels like a coin flip of whether or not the timing is right or if they receive damage in a position where my opponents won't be able to easily to get damage in once I'm finished hitting them (due to their stamina regenerating while their stunlocked, and mine being depleting as I'm performing the WA). For example Curved Greatsword Murakumo WA - leaves you in place Lucerne WA - Leaves you in place UGS Stomp - Leaves you place Of course more Defensive and Shorter WAs like Perseverance and anything with Guard Break is definitely useful. (depending on build, armor, and weapon weight itself ofc) I'm sure at Higher Levels Vitality isn't as much of an issue to be able to just equip it vs mid level where points can't just be freely spent. Quick Step also being a good way to escape, but I prefer using my FP for Actions that will result in Damage. Besides having a dagger on Weapon Slot 2 allows for a higher damage soft swap riposte, and quick step. Though I imagine in such scenarios where you don't have to worry about having 3 people on you or just dueling it'd probably just be preferable to just use whatever is gonna get damage and still have that a block as an option, since as you mentioned yourself Duels are much different in approach to a fight compared to invasions.

So evertime I see a vid like this and it get's a lot of views, I know that I will atleast see some of em soon enough.
As somebody who doesn't like DS3 PvP that much, this video was still really entertaining. It's not often you find new knowledge on a game you have so many hours on, and it was presented very well. Definitely subscribed.

Very well-made video! Great editing, great content!
My brain got bigger after this
Brain size doesn't correlate to intelligence
@@jacobhoover1654 That's a pretty small brain answer my dude
@@SpookyJinx Einsteins brain was 1230 grams while the average brain size is 1350 grams
Your brain got bigger but your skull stayed the same size?
@@jacobhoover1654 who cares
I absolutely love the use of the Sir Alonne theme
The small shield on main hand is literally it. I fucking oblirated everything with that, i did a parry streak, parried multiple enemies at the same time. It feels like im in ultra instinct state. Thanks for this video, i feel badass now.
I personally like the katana parry because it’s a good bait and it’s the only one I don’t absolutely suck at it.
I wish that they kept some greatswords with a parry skill like how you could do in ds2.
I finally get an explanation on how well the Farron GS weapon skill actually is; I'm not surprised.
i thought you were gonna summon the Old Man when you said it 4:55
yo i'm really happy for you and imma let you finish
but i gotta get a name to those armor mods if it's not too inconvenient
amazing video btw, very data packed and still fun to watch, loved every second of it
hey mate, did you get them? im looking for 'em too
nothing yet bruv..
@@yesenia7272 haha i'm flattered, thank you hun
@@tiroxxnc i was kiding bruh its fine xdddd
Gotta say that weapon switching before the attack actually starts, has got to be the sweatiest thing I have ever seen.
The parry on the guy at 18:18 got me lmao. Bated HARD
Amir: What is the best parry tool ??
Me: *Looks intensely at Fighter Pl*
0:50 Ah, "stanima", yes, indeed
Hes gonna say some shield i have never thought about in my life and im gonna have to add another item to my collection of 200 weapons, catalysts, bows, etc, that i think are cool
Edit: nevermind i think i have the small shield with spell parry so im fine
it works in classes so there's not really any big exceptions aside from the shit weapon parries
@@BigDBrian yeah but there are a ton of unique(ish) parries, he even goes over them in the video, like the parrying dagger and the farron greatsword and theres the special parry for small shields
12:58 that double stab is so cool
Amir what's the most negative stamina you can have?
-60
The katana parry I like , because I feel like the parry frames start the moment you press the button. There is 0 prediction to do
It is weirdly intuitive, isn’t it?
0:52 stanima
He says it again around 19:35
and?
I appreciate the Sekiro Wooooo sound effect
What is the armor at 10:25, for a friend's build :)
correct me if im wrong but i think its a modded painting guardian set
Sir Alonne OST playing while the katana parry talk goes. Yeah I caught that.
This was awesome and incredibly well put together! I really appreciate this now that I'm starting to try and actually understand the mechanics of this game. Thanks for the hard work.
On a side note, does anyone know of any helpful keybinds for playing with mouse and keyboard? I really wanna learn how to play with that but the default keybinds just seem so god awful.
Check my community posts, I shared my key binds there
@@Amir0 Oh awesome thank you!
Amazing video! Great Job!
Get ready my fellow reds, you're gonna be seeing ganks holding small shields a lot more often now.
Just use whips, it has deceptively Long range with its Weapon Art AND can't be parried.
Meh, not like they don't use it already ( Llewelyn "Tryhard" Shield). Atleast maybe they will stop with pathetic parry fishing with Caestus, thinking nobody notices it in their off-hand.
I was honestly expecting Hodrick to land first place
Damn, you surely are tasteful in your fashion sense.
I can’t fucking wait to see what you do when Elden rings comes out. Most amount of info + massive entertainment value, you’re a gem buddy keep it up.
Thanks dude!
There are far too many misleading people who say “choose whatever you think looks cool and makes you feel comfortable”. I don’t think people realize on how useless that information is.
Very informative!Thanks!
so... the iron shield in the rigth hand is the best???
I usually use caestus, mainly because people expect a parry, not a punch
Fallen Knight Armor... Any casuls fashion souls
This was a great video!
Thank you!
God now we get even more parry tryhards, ya know the guys who just endlessly þry to parry you to quik swap to a maxed dagger and to one shot you.
The same guys who also more the half the time just fail a parry and eat a greatsword/greatweapon to the face.
Good vid tough.
@Azari i meant it as a joke, of how over the years that I watched youtubers like fighter pl I have started to see more and more players who act (or at least try) to do the parry/trolling he does.
So evertime I see a vid like this and it get's a lot of views, I know that I will atleast see some of em soon enough.
Very articulate video. Best of luck to you and your channel.
laughs in 2h great weapons and whip. i was wondering why everyone was trying to parry me with small shields
As somebody who doesn't like DS3 PvP that much, this video was still really entertaining. It's not often you find new knowledge on a game you have so many hours on, and it was presented very well. Definitely subscribed.
Is this a troll? In half the segments you don’t even mention the item name lol
Caestus is good because you can switch to two handing to get some poise.
Stanima
Them lag parries though and that double at 13:00? Fuckin awesome dude!
Epic
btw, about the roll stunning, i don't think you can do it with kirk's armour since it completely loses the ability to stagger anything with rolls and replaces that with the damaging property.
