Not really, the dude can't riff. Dokken is pop dribble, and likely why he never made the cut. Randy had a definite thing he brought. But, in my opinion, Jake E Lee was the most rock n roll player Ozzy ever had. His work mm in Badlands is great. Zack his been by his side a long B time and is far from a slouch. Tony Iommi invented metal....

agree. I think RR wrote better songs but that was due to Bob Daisleey as well. Jake to me his playing especially live was way more insane. MAn was a fretboard wizard. Was dive bombing/detuning his guitar all without a whammy, being pushed by Ozzy then getting back in tune which I thought was crazy. He executed those Rhoads/Iommi songs by putting his own taste to it without ruining the song. It was almost as if the Ozzy gig was way too easy for him.

Technique wise, George Lynch, 'Way Better' but Jake E Lee's Live prescence and appeal to the audience made the Scale tip to His side.. It's always the 'Total Package' that weighs the most. Not who's the fasted or who has a better Technique..

Brad is a good guitarist but the best he did with Ozzy was the Sabbath songs.they still weren't the best , better then when he would do the Rhoades songs. Not that he sucked, just wasn't putting it out there like Lee,Zak, pretty much any other of his guitarists did. Thank God he went to knight ranger because I really can't imagine what type of records we would have gotten. To me and no disrespect to all the amazing axe men that played with Oz but Jake E Lee was the best Oz had. He wasn't a metal style player but he mixed it in with his style and is just awesome. The greatest Heavy Metal Guitar Solo in a song EVER .and he wrote that solo mapping it out on sheet music before ever playing it he had the riff and he and Bob worked on the structures to a rough draft then Randy went to the drawing board crafting the "Perfect solos" incorporated it to song and just like that a masterpiece was created

Some would say that George Lynch is a helluva guitar player, one of the best in hair metal, or rock, history. To be beat out by Jake E. Lee says something about Jake's guitar playing. Ozzy coulda done great with either guitarist. I wonder what woulda happened with Dokken if George had got the gig. Would Jake be Dokken's guitarist? Wouldn't that be crazy????? Let's get in the DeLorean and go back and time and see that happen! LOL
By the way, in the video, the creator said Jake was replaced by Zakk Wylde after Bark at the Moon. It was actually The Ultimate Sin which was the last album Jake played on.

They're all amazing players, so hard to put one above the other as far as just playing. So I'll take the records....Randy played on 2 classic records, Jake played on 1 good, not classic record and 1 dud, Zakk Wylde had a good one and an average record with his first 2 with Ozzy. Randy also gets on a decent live record and Zakk had some average live albums. I'm not a fan of anything post No More Tears. So Randy wins because he was on 2 true rock n roll classic albums.

Jake didn't play with Micky Ratt, he did jam with them though. Rough Cutt was fronted by Ronnie James Dio, that's how Craig ended up with him. Jake was actually supposed to join Dio, but ended up joining Ozzy instead. He said all Ronnie was looking for was someone to be a flashy, three-chord player. Ronnie was probably the nicest man you'd ever meet. His wife, Wendy, rented an apartment for all of the road crew off Doheny, not far from The Roxy. The place was a non-stop party. Motley Crue's apartment was about two blocks from us. Jake is one of the funniest people I have ever known. The man has a wild sense of humor.

He was really close to Ronnie. He said they were all back-stabbers using Ronnie to get ahead (irony, I know). There was a point where he would crash on a couch we had for our dog at our apartment rather than the apartment they had for the band. The record store period I don't know about. That must have been between gigs with Ronnie and just before Giuffria. His first time with Dio he went straight from Rough Cutt. Rough Cutt was somewhat a talent pool for Ronnie. A way for him to develop players for his band. That's why Jake was his first choice. Jake just wasn't a good match. Jake's playing was far too complicated for what Ronnie was looking for.
