Total respect for this man. Jake is one of those rare musicians that can somehow tap into another realm and channel it to the mortal world through his playing.
Exactly. Most people don't quite understand what you mean... but I do. The amount of feeling you play any riff you come up with has an enormous impact on achieving just that and Jake is a huge feeling guy. It's why Ozzy grabbed him up in the first place. Ozzy and Sharon are assholes but they're not stupid.
JAKE E LEE!!! is the epitome of a rock star The day he played on the US festival back in '83 we knew then we had someone awesome and someone that was badass on guitar. I'm glad he's still around and with us...sharing his history, stories, experiences and knowledge...Keep going Jake whatever you doing in life no matter what...keep on rockin. Charvel guitars rules!!!
I was Jake's tech from 84-87 OZZY years and I remember going to Charvel with Jake and standing in the paint booth when the blue and purple burst bodies were being painted. Jake was telling the painter what he wanted as it was being painted.
Oh.. Amazing job. Just a dream for me. Mr.. you lived gold ages with jake. In the Best job in the world. Congratulations for your ability a succes. You rock.
“Badass,”the word that always falls from my lips whenever I describe Jake. He’s a badass. See, I did that automatically lol. Super-agression and no bullshit, which makes him soulful, and real. That’s what makes him a badass. He’s a badass what more can we say.
One thing that i noticed from this video, he didn't go "this is better than that", instead he admitted that the reason he puts certain parts on his sig is because that's his preferences and respect other people's opinion
If you have a preference it implies that you think that preference is better. If you prefer coca cola over pepsi then you think coca cola tastes better.
I was in an arts high school when Jake was newly popular....all of us guitarists were impressed by his 'no whammy bar' technique....and, Jake was a showman on stage....dude was and is cool.....
I met Jake E Lee years ago when Badlands was touring. Super down to earth, very friendly, and an absolute monster player. Wish him nothing but the best. ;o)
Jake E Lee was the reason I bought a Charvel after years of being a Gibson SG guy. Still love an SG but the Charvel I got for half the price of a Gibson can do everything from Jazz to Metal and I absolutely love it. Also The Ultimate Sin Album and Badlands are criminally underrated.
Always loved RR on the Ozzy records, who didn't? Bought Bark at the Moon when it came out, and became an instant Jake fan, and still am to this day. As far as I'm concerned, Jake was the key or bridge to extending Ozzy's career, with his incredible guitar licks and personality.
Waiting For Darkness is quite literally the most underrated Ozzy/Jake E Lee song ever written. Give it another listed, because it's truly a masterpiece.
I saw Jake E. Lee with Ozzy on the Bark at the Moon tour at San Diego Sports Arena, probably in '83 or '84. RATT opened the show. My buddy and I went mainly to see RATT because they were one of the up and coming bands and we loved their debut EP. We liked Ozzy but weren't sure about this new guitarist he had. Losing Randy Rhoads was devastating and who could replace Randy Rhoads anyway? Well, that Ozzy show was so fucking good and largely because Jake E. Lee was so goddamned good on stage. Not just playing but movement, rocking out, stage presence, look, etc. He had it all. Came away a huge Jake E. Lee fan after that night.
That was a Good one, BUT I liked Bark at the Moon & the Ultimate sin better.but back in 89 I was glad Jake come back soon. I just wish him & Ozzy would do a new CD together.
He deserve being at the top instantly, his songs and guitar plays keep Ozzy floating again after demised RR. The BOTM is still Ozzy's most popular song.
What Jimi did to Jake is what Jake did to me. I remember being a kid at the US Festival and kind of wondering who Ozzy was going to bring on board. His guitar playing was ferocious and at the time I didn't know it but his vibrato was insane and the sound just ripped across the park like you couldn't believe. The energy was totally intense man. The videos are cool but standing in the presence of it was something else. I ended up getting a Charvel 3 years later and that neck on it is hands down my favorite. If they can 24 fret and dupe the specs of those 80's neck .... total bliss - nothing like them.
Did Jake sound a lot more clear in person than how he does on a lot of the RUclips videos from the 80s? Because if so, I would’ve been shocked if I saw him play in person.
The first time i played a charvel i was blown away by the feel and playability and felt right at home. Everybody knows they have the greatest necks known to man. I own quite a few and they are imho the best pound for pound you couldget. and Jake e lee is the man!! real and humble.. I love me some Shot in the dark behind the nut bends!!
Geo B Well he was young and she gave him a choice either leave and we will erase your guitar tracks on Bark and have someone else play your guitar parts or stay and accept the deal. I would have done the same thing and stayed and pull out the vasoline...Even Ozzy had told him he had to "fuck him over" when Ozzy was in Sabbath they got fucked by Don Arden Sharons dad and Ozz told Jake when he has his own band he will fuck over someone else..its business. I dont condone what Sharon did to Jake but its a cruel world out there man and sometimes you just have to take it...with a jar of vasoline. Its business
Efilnikufesin that's exactly my point. He went from playing in bars to playing in sold out arenas and stadiums in the mother fucking OZZY band...I mean, it couldn't get any better for him as a guitar player and musician, but she had to power to drop him if he didn't agree to her demands. Financially and otherwise, he got double fisted by Sharon and that does suck.
Geo B Thats right its one of those things where hmmmm i can go home and "maybe?" I can make it in another band which more than likely he would have but the Ozz gig was too good to pass up.
Jake is the man. Just a cool, down to earth guy and amazing guitarist. Jake has always been an influence on my playing since I was young. Bark at the Moon was the first Ozzy album I owned. It's good to see him again after being in hiatus for so many years. That blue Charvel is sweet.
My first concert ever-Ozzy Osbourne Bark at the Moon tour 1984 in Hampton, Va. i still have one of Jake’s guitar picks from that show. Jake is my favorite of the Ozzy Guitarist’s.
I really dig his humility as a musician. I remember seeing Jake with Ozzy on his first tour I was like who the heck is this? I was blown away! The news of him replacing brad wasn't in many publications yet and there was no youtube back then lol!
During the first RDC tour I drove 7 hours from where I live to Minnesota to see him as the tour didn't came anywhere near my town. There was a meet and greet just before the show. I was really lucky as one of my best buddies in the whole world was with me and there was just a handful of people in the room. Jake was so super laid back and kind. I was fanboying all over myself and he treated me like a friend. We had a chuckle or two. Talked about some gear and it was fucking awesome! The place the gig was at was on Osbourne Street...HA! I told him that and he rolled his eyes and said "guess I'll never get away from that, will I?" My favorite guitarist ever. I've met many that I won't name that were dicks...super dicks. Jake was so down to earth and cool. It was a real treasure meeting my guitar hero and have him end up being so genuine and kind. I'm a Jake fan for life!
I don't know why Jack makes me feel like I been knowing him for a long time. The way he talks and personality makes me feel like we can smoke pot and drink beer together and bust out the axe and trade licks. I can hear myself saying to my girl "Hey babe, I'm going to Jakes and hang out. I'll be back but I'll call you ok". He talks like he's been your best buddy for a long time. Very welcoming and great charisma and honest and humble. That shy act is to mask his wild edge.
Jake E. Lee gave us one of the greatest !980's albums of all time. The Ultimate Sin is the sound of the 80's and I'm proud to have lived this decade. Thank you Jake.
Charvel is one of my favorites of all time. Quality. Quality. Quantity of features. I love my Les Pauls, but I have had many Charvels and yes I want one of these. Pick it up and you can taste the sweet notes just pouring out of it. That EV5150III don't hurt either
+matt chase, Sorry man but you have your facts wrong, Fender INC owns the name Charvel they DO NOT make them. The Charvel custom shop has some of the very same guys that worked with grover years ago.
It's 1983 and the absolute legend Randy Rhoads has been gone for a year .. Bernie Torme is cool but just doesn't fit .. Brad Gillis is good but has other things in mind .. Ozzy - the former frontman of one of the most legendary bands ever - is probably pacing the room, coked out of his mind "SHARON, SHARON, GODDAMNIT, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO .. I'M A FAILURE" .. Ozzy is on the brink of being a complete has-been .. It doesn't look good .. In comes this unknown kid with not only the eyes of the guitar world on him but the career of Ozzy Osbourne on the line .. No pressure, right ?? How many guys could handle this ?? What does Jake do ?? .. Jake goes in and the first thing we ever hear is Bark At The Fucking Moon and one of the greatest guitar riffs and leads ever ... EVER .... Jake, you are forever a guitar hero - back against the wall, cards stacked against you ( including your own management ) you came up with a classic ...
Lucas, YOU NAILED IT. Now, after all these years EVERYBODY has an opinion. But I remember those years..it was make or break for Ozzy. Jake saved his Bacon. And what did he get? Not even a credit for the songs he wrote. Sorry, but that's what Jake has said for years..and it makes sense. But back to the original point. Jake E Lee, nailed it and Ozzy (and Sharon) owe him alot...he saved the gig for them. Or it would have been sabbath reunions, and nothing more.
Lee mentioned in an interview that , guitar skills aside, his image : black hair etc . was the only other way to go for Ozzy. Had Ozzy tried to replicate Randy's image/stamp on Ozzy's career (i.e. another blonde haired shredder etc.) it would've just looked like Ozzy was trying to milk the success he & Randy created. Of course, after Le & Ozzy FURTHER cemented Ozzy's career, then a player with blonde shredder image could come back in & it wouldn't look obvious : hence Zakk Wylde .
Man, i love him after Bark at the moon! He not only shredder, he very melodic I mean he's solo very romantic and note of rhythm guitar is very talented and right sound for me!))) He is top!☝️☝️☝️
Everything on Ultimate Sin is still giving me chills and thrills after however long it's been. The fade out solo on Never Know Why though. Can't even remember the first time I heard it. It's like it's always been there, screaming and howling and lamenting in my head.
Listen up kids check this guy out live he had total Dominion over his sound his own language what he did with his guitar .. never mind Eddie talking about Jake .. rumor says he had some kind of rubber beneath his feet board ,he would put his knee on the back dipping and diving to his leisure .. and another legend who brought good shit to the table ... thanks for all the wonderful years Jake.E.Lee
I was jamming with Steve Vai at a NAMM show years ago (headsets on in a Mesa Boogie) which was new at the time, and nobody really knew who Vai was (including myself) ...he was replacing Yngwie in a band called "Alcatrazz".... he was just a regular dude... anyway... after jamming with Vai, I was playing by myself just totally engrossed in the Mesa Boogie... and my buddy taps me on the shoulder and say's "look behind you dude"... it was Jake E. Lee, standing in a trench coat. He smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I'll never forget that. Super cool dude. The guys from Ratt were at the show, as were many others, but they all had their "entourages" and such...and their noses in the air. No issues, just pointing out that I think Jake E has always been one of the cool ones. I was never a huge fan as I was really into Rhoades at the time, but I really did like the work he did on Bark at the Moon and Shot in the Dark.... I was also a bit disillusioned because this was a time when Ozzy went ahead and cut an album with Brad Gillis (out of desperation) to continue touring after Randy's passing. I guess I'm showing my age, but anyway: Jake E Lee = cool enough dude to pay attention to a 'nobody' like me. I had been taking lessons at G.I.T at the time, and I have to say, I was likely in my prime studying with Gambale and Tedesco, but still, most of the "Rock Stars" at that time wouldn't give a fellow guitar player a nod unless he had a hot chick hangin' on his arm.... just sayin....true story BTW... totally true
Jake sounds like he knows what he wants, and is very down to earth. The kind of famous guy you could sit down with (not knowing who he was) and play guitar and not feel foolish. this guy doesn't have to prove himself.
Eddie Van Halen used first and you know what ? Eddie Van Halen, DeMartini, and Jake E Lee. Those are the best for me

I believe at one time Michael Sweet of Stryper used Charvel also. Now he plays Washburn. The cool part being Washburn gives the buyer the exact same guitar with all the same modifications. Not many guitar companies do that. Fender does, but it's gonna cost ya...
Vivian cambell was a corner stone into the success of charvel also and when ratt opened for dio warren didnt have a guitar and ronnie said go take one of ours and so he did and thats all he played . Vivian just had charvel deliver his guitars for the tour look at the color codes of bothem guys guitars. Their black and red and white and red ect the half and half so if u go look at the spectrum concert ect you see warren playing same color guitar as vivian and vivian had to use the explorer shape because warren grabbed the strat body. I though it was a awesome story i wanted to share with u. I seen interview with ronnie james dio and he tells the story.
Your correct.. B4 wayne charvel teamed up with grover jackson wayne sold parts and eddie van halen use to buy his necks and put them on strats . wayne also made eddies first striped guitar BUT he made a couple and sold one to an artist. Eddie went to a show and said thats my fucking guitar. Called wayne and severed his relationship with him and believe went to kramer but eddie wound his own pickups and modified all his guitars he was also an inovater gotta lovem. At that same time seymor duncan made eddie a pickup and then sold them eddie got mad and said your another piece of shit and severed his relationship. Cut throats duncan ripped off all dimarzio anyway lol. I agree with the guy who said eddie becuz eddie did alot of shit to guitars that i copied and nobody back then had a floyd rose or finger tapped hammeron pull off like eddie. For me its Jimi Yngwie Eddie Lynch Kotzen Dimartini Ect ect you know the guys they all have a place in my heart and fingers
Such a cool guy and killer guitar player. I saw him with Ozzy, Badlands, Wicked Alliance, and Red Dragon ... Always kicked ass...ok, i gotta get one of those blue guitars. Lol
I always thought Jake had the best riffs and tone with Ozzy. Playing a hardtail back then while everyone else was using whammy bars with locking tuners, constantly doing dive bombs etc... zzzzzzzz .. it got old fast. Jake, you are one bad-ass guitar player.
+Nicola Ferrari - again...you're nuts!! Blizzard of Ozz was revolutionary!! Randy was doing shit that EVH couldn't do!! BOZ and DOAM were Ozzy's best albums, no question!! When you look at how advanced Randy was at such a young age, it's fucking unreal!! Like I said before...Randy Rhoads was WAY ahead of his time!! Jake was excellent, but Randy was great!! If Randy was alive today, he'd be destroying everyone...including shredders like Satriani, Vai, and Malmsteen...no question about it!!
1:40 i saw you on your debut at the US Festival , Mr Jake E Lee . i was there that day with 14+ friends. we were in high school, smoking weed and drinkin beer .i drove like 8 people squeezed in my mom's car, a memorable event . later i got to find out what a great guitarist you are . kudos !
Randy and Jake were my favorite Ozzy sounds. Both excellent within their own signature sound. My formative years from elementary school and middle school was Blizzard of Oz, Bark at the Moon, and Ultimate Sin.
Jake had the coolest finished Charvels at the time. He's right, everyone had graphics and they were cool. But when he "burst" on the scene with the White Charvel it was cool as hell. Then he shows up in Guitar For The Practicing Musician with the purpleburst guitar and in the "A Shot In The Dark" video with the blueburst one (I think) and those blew all the other Charvels away! Maybe I got those out of order but you get the idea. Cool guitars \m/
Ty Barnes Well i 1st saw Jake playing the blue Charvel when the VHS longform concert "Ultimate Ozzy" tape came out and that was 1986 but according to this interview he acquired it much sooner than that.
I wish Jake was in more videos, he's always so damn fun to listen to talk! Looking forward to the second Red Dragon Cartel album :) No mixed fret sizes and traditional saddles on the skinny strings on this one?
when I was 8 years old I lived in a small town in southamerica and I saw on TV a short part of the US festival in the news. At that time, I did not know what was heavy metal or who was Ozzy, Judas Priest or the other bands but the image of Jake playing some amazing music with an electric guitar is still in my mind. Now I have been playing guitar for 35 years in several styles but my first memory of a guitar player was that.
It's not "stupid shit"! Jake your playing is awesome! One most clever guitarist out there! Extremely impressive! One of my top 5 guitarist! Keep it going!
What A COOL CAT to hang out with. Humble Respectful...And A MONSTER MUSICIAN ALWAYS has been one of MY favorite players. 🎸🎸🎶🎶GOD BLESS YOU JAKE ROCK ON
Exactly. I just got the the white one and the only thing bad about it is the 21 frets. It's still a killer guitar. His newer white one's that HE plays has 22 frets but this is historically correct from his time in the Ozzy band. Save up for it, you won't regret it.
I know the original one was a Fender made guitar. In another interview, He’s holding a white one with different fret sizes,22 frets and it has a tone knob with a mahogany neck/ebony board. It’s probably something in my head.. I like a minimum of 22 frets. Thanks for the replies.
Well, Charvel is asking around 2700 for his sig. guitars. You can build one with the same hardware and electronics (other than bridge but can get a brass hard tail almost just like it) for under 500 bucks. That just shows how much mark up Charvel has especially w/ signatures just like all other brands..
Are we all gonna ignore the fact that he used his big-ass lightsaber-sized Vape as a slide? Damn. Jake is one bad man and that guitar is damn pretty!!!
Jimmy Hendrix passed the love of music on to Jake , and Jake passed it on to me . I started playing guitar because of the first time I heard Jake play on "Bark at the Moon". Thanks for the inspiration Jake , I still love listening to you play .
"I don't need a bar, I can do stupid shit just with my hands." Love it. Jake is the man.
I think he forgot you use the whammy bar with your hands too lol
wasn't that a vaporizer as a slide
It's the stupid shit (lol) he does at the start of Thank God For the Bomb!
agreed
He makes stupid shit sound good
Total respect for this man. Jake is one of those rare musicians that can somehow tap into another realm and channel it to the mortal world through his playing.

Mr. Lee is a genuine Down to Earth musician. I could not agree with you more.-peace

Master Player. I love Jake’s playing. He has a great ability to play any style. Jake saved Ozzy’s career.
More than I can say for Ozzy himself.
the man who never got the respect that he deserved from the industry
he sure does get tons from me!
Daisley is the man that salvaged Ozzy's career they were all his songs.
@@512banana1 meeeee tooooo
And never will. Until he's dead than, it's too late.
He's just as good as rhoads if not better in my opinion he better definitely faster
Jake is my favorite. The more you hear the songs he recorded, the more details appear. it never ceases to impress me.
I love the intelligent Melodies !!
He's a beautiful player.

I completely agree! I hope Jake adds it to the set if RDC tours again.

Yeah down to earth guy.. but Sharon osbourne owe him millions in royalties..
yep. I agree
Sharon fucks everyone over, go read Bob Daisley's book.
Agree 100% Ozzy is worth tons of money and he needs to do what is right. Ozzy needs to write Jake a check for 5 million.
@@ajreynolds94 Add greedy to that.
No one forced him to sign the contract
Jake on the 1st Badlands lp is Magic!
That was a Good one, BUT I liked Bark at the Moon & the Ultimate sin better.but back in 89 I was glad Jake come back soon. I just wish him & Ozzy would do a new CD together.
Hey Metalheart ... Love the albums he did with ozzy, but they will NEVER!! do another album together..
That’s for sure. Badlands rocked, they had a cool Zeppelin bluesy sound. Great singer on that too. Think I still have it on tape.
ah... i bought the badlands tape at a swapmeet this morning!! ... yeehah!
Voo doo highway kicked arse as the second Badlands release, don't forget Ray Guillen on vocals! RIP
Man so cool to listen to jake.what a player.missed him for many years really glad he is back.
Such a killer guitar player and cool guy.. I've taken a lot from him over the years.
Josey Wales well give it back mate he probAlly poor after being out the scene for 30 years lol

wpmtpm That was my point of my amusement been knowing the story since the late 80s but thanks for those who don't know👊😎
Sharon dicked him around the entire time he was with Ozzy, but what could he do...he was in one of the biggest bands at the time.

Interweaving solo and rythm like no-one else. Such a great guy and player. Very inspirational!

Voodoo album is insanely good, especially the guitar work
Ray Gillen R.I.P.
Was lucky enough to see Badlands live 3 times in the Hollywood area. I still get goosebumps thinking about those shows.
Hands down my favorite player ...biggest influence on my playing and a damn nice guy..
Fortunate enough to have met him a handful of times
Jake is one of my favorite guitarist. He can play it all. Thanks for all the great movie Jake.✌️✌️🙏🙏🙏
Very under rated by most.....But if you ask people that are true to music and have passion. They all bow their head when you say Jake E Lee.
Clownsatthecemetary As well they should.
Clownsatthecemetery. Why Ozzy fired him ? I don't know. But, live he was a beast ! Intensity and chops to match !
I met Jake in 1992 after his Badlands show, always was a hero of mine, lovely guy.
Thanks Jake for a down to earth, humble interview. You rock man!
Jake was such a big influence on my playing. His work with badlands is amazing. He got used with Ozzy. We love you Jake!!!

Very welcoming and great charisma and honest and humble. That shy act is to mask his wild edge.
such a likable guy, loved his playing still do,first time I've hear a interview from Jake
Jake is my hero i love everything that he made with ozzy in the 80’s is good to see him play again .Jake where were you?
Jake, I saw you in fresno on the bark at the moon tour. Best guitarist I have ever seen.
Jake was my favorite guitarist who played for Ozzy
Darrin Ros
That note definition is incredible, what a sound and what incredible looking AND sounding instruments, man
All made by fender lol
My USA Charvel San Dimas is the best guitar in my collection.
+matt chase, Sorry man but you have your facts wrong, Fender INC owns the name Charvel they DO NOT make them. The Charvel custom shop has some of the very same guys that worked with grover years ago.
matt chase mmhm. And fender makes great stufd
I absolutely LOVE what Jake does on guitar ! thank you !
Yes it was amazing
Lucas, YOU NAILED IT. Now, after all these years EVERYBODY has an opinion. But I remember those years..it was make or break for Ozzy. Jake saved his Bacon. And what did he get? Not even a credit for the songs he wrote. Sorry, but that's what Jake has said for years..and it makes sense. But back to the original point. Jake E Lee, nailed it and Ozzy (and Sharon) owe him alot...he saved the gig for them. Or it would have been sabbath reunions, and nothing more.
Don't forget, he fucking nailed it with with had to be the ungodly pressure of having to follow RR. I can't even imagine doing that.
Lucas B The world needs more tales like that, man. Nicely put.
Great to finally see Jake again. Not many videos of him.
Please more videos of Jake!!!!
Jake, That Guitar Is Absolutely Gorgeous 🎸! Rock On Brother 🙏🏼 I'm A HUGE FAN🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Man, i love him after Bark at the moon! He not only shredder, he very melodic I mean he's solo very romantic and note of rhythm guitar is very talented and right sound for me!))) He is top!☝️☝️☝️
Your attitude is refreshing Jake, and its infectious. And you're in my personal top 5 players of everyone who play guitar!
Love Jake E Lee ... aside from being an incredible guitarists he is such a lovely person - I could listen to his interviews all day
Everything on Ultimate Sin is still giving me chills and thrills after however long it's been. The fade out solo on Never Know Why though. Can't even remember the first time I heard it. It's like it's always been there, screaming and howling and lamenting in my head.
Awesome guitar player and human being! My favorite Ozzy guitarist. Always humble and down to earth!
Awesome interview! I have a Charvel, Jackson and ESP and they are all great axes.
So glad to hear Jake. I love his playing!! I would’ve loved to hear his jams with DeMartini when they were roommates.
Dude is so talented. One of my favorites of all time.
Fantastic guitar player..
Awesome to see Jake!
Jake E Lee. One of the coolest geniuses ever.
Badass axeman....seriously, we will miss him when he's gone....That Ozzy Salt Lake City gig in 84 was fkin amazing, Jake burned.
Just got a brand new old stock 2017 charvel jake e Lee, amazing guitar, this is truly a beast of a guitar, quality is unmatched !!!
Great to see Jake! When i was a teenager i switched to a modded strat because of him and it became my main guitar for quite a good time :)
Jake E Lee is one of the Greatest in my opinion.
Jake sounds like he knows what he wants, and is very down to earth. The kind of famous guy you could sit down with (not knowing who he was) and play guitar and not feel foolish. this guy doesn't have to prove himself.
Love this guy. Loved him in Ozzy's band, love him in Red Dragon Cartel. That's a beautiful instrument there.
I love Charvels because of Jake E. Lee and Warren DeMartini!
@
Yes he played charvel and they had jacksons. At that time both guitars were made by grover in the jackson custom shop.
Awesome guitars
For me its
Jimi
Yngwie
Eddie
Lynch
Kotzen
Dimartini
Ect ect you know the guys they all have a place in my heart and fingers
Wow..long time no see..
Still alive and well.
Awesome guitarist.
Such a cool guy and killer guitar player. I saw him with Ozzy, Badlands, Wicked Alliance, and Red Dragon ... Always kicked ass...ok, i gotta get one of those blue guitars. Lol
and Teaser
Good to see he's still doing good.
I always thought Jake had the best riffs and tone with Ozzy. Playing a hardtail back then while everyone else was using whammy bars with locking tuners, constantly doing dive bombs etc... zzzzzzzz .. it got old fast. Jake, you are one bad-ass guitar player.
bobthemuffin agreed, Jake is definitely my second favorite for Ozzy but Randy was the best
Rhoads********
The guitar's work on BATM and TUS is better and more advanced than anything Rhoads ever did, Jake was the best, imo...
It was crazy they fired Rhoads. But he did fuck Sharon. She couldn't keep her gnarly twat in her pants!
1:40 i saw you on your debut at the US Festival , Mr Jake E Lee . i was there that day with 14+ friends. we were in high school, smoking weed and drinkin beer .i drove like 8 people squeezed in my mom's car, a memorable event . later i got to find out what a great guitarist you are . kudos !
Jake E Lee....the original kamikaze guitarist. Charvel San Dimas #1 bad ass
san dimas high school football rules!!!!!!
dickieboypnuts1 be excellent to each other, and party on dudes!!!
Wild Stallions!!!
You do know that the original white 'Charvel' was actually a Fender Strat. Nothing Charvel about it.
Jake E Lee - guitar samurai.
Randy and Jake were my favorite Ozzy sounds. Both excellent within their own signature sound. My formative years from elementary school and middle school was Blizzard of Oz, Bark at the Moon, and Ultimate Sin.
Jake is a guitar god, and guitar ninja.
Yeah lol. His moves were pretty deadly in the concert
I was privileged enough to see him on the Bark at the Moon Tour with Crue ... He is a badass and I do love that Charvel.. Rock On !!..
Ty Barnes Gibson SG in the "Shot in the Dark" video
Ah, that's right! I couldn't find the video when I posted my comment. So where did we see Jake's Blueburst Charvel first?
Ty Barnes Well i 1st saw Jake playing the blue Charvel when the VHS longform concert "Ultimate Ozzy" tape came out and that was 1986 but according to this interview he acquired it much sooner than that.
Fizzgig Thats right the "Lightning Strikes" video is in the Ultimate Ozzy concert VHS/Bootleg DVD 😎
Pretty sure he plays the blue burst Charvel on the Lightning Strikes video from Bark at the Moon.
Amazing guitarist! Sooo underrated , never got the respect he so deserves
I wish Jake was in more videos, he's always so damn fun to listen to talk! Looking forward to the second Red Dragon Cartel album :)
No mixed fret sizes and traditional saddles on the skinny strings on this one?
Jake is the man...all anyone needs to hear is BATM and TUS. Those two records show his total mastery at a young age. Enough said.
I love Charvels... i own 7 of them. Great guitars.
Celsius Q can I have one I'll take a so cal if u have one
7? You must be OCD..
Chibson makes better Gibson's than Gibson does.
No So Cal in the collection yet! That will be soon remedied. ;)
Yes, I am! :)
when I was 8 years old I lived in a small town in southamerica and I saw on TV a short part of the US festival in the news. At that time, I did not know what was heavy metal or who was Ozzy, Judas Priest or the other bands but the image of Jake playing some amazing music with an electric guitar is still in my mind. Now I have been playing guitar for 35 years in several styles but my first memory of a guitar player was that.
I love how jake’s classic rock influences shine through so much in his style. Completely the opposite with all the EVH clones of his time.
Thank you, Jimmy Hendrix, you have no idea what you awakened in this fellow legend!
🎸🎸🎶🎶GOD BLESS YOU JAKE ROCK ON
I wish the white one had 22 frets. I love this one. I’ll own it one day. Jake seems very real and down to earth.
His white one was really Fender strat his buddy worked in the custom shop at Charvel painted it for him.
Looks great for 80 years old!
Good to hear from him. He seems like he has it together.
He seems like a nice guy. He's definitely a great guitarplayer.
What a legend. This guy's art is top notch. Love your playing. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Are we all gonna ignore the fact that he used his big-ass lightsaber-sized Vape as a slide? Damn. Jake is one bad man and that guitar is damn pretty!!!
It's Jake E Lee, he's allowed to
damn i thought it was a screw driver
Does anyone not look like a tool smoking one of those?
Michael Trezza they call them “Douche Flutes” for a reason.
Shelster 99 hahaha I've never heard that but I won't forget it hahaha
Jake your so genuine and as a rocker I really appreciate you all the way Kat .
Great to have Jake back in the music biz!
Jimmy Hendrix passed the love of music on to Jake , and Jake passed it on to me .
I started playing guitar because of the first time I heard Jake play on "Bark at the Moon".
Thanks for the inspiration Jake , I still love listening to you play .
