It’s almost 1:00am in NY.
You Tube: you wanna watch a guy installing a fridge inside a van ?
Me: YES!!
yup... lol
Hell yeah I got out of bed to get my snacks
it's 7:07am here in my town 😅😅😅
@@clearwater9118 cool man, do you drink shit water?
life is nuts no?? hahaa
The way this dude gets stuff done with zero drama and complaining, in the middle of a Canadian winter is inspiring.
Because he"s never wrong!
He edited out all the @#$***
reminds me of my late husband who grew up on a dairy farm. He could do anything with a good nature.
Canadians are nice and no drama unlike many other nations where everything is a massive deal.
@@mop2254 Canadian here ... we have plenty of drama queens here as well
I love the Home Depot music in the background. I honestly believe that every man should know how to cook and sew. You definitely have your "stuff" together. Mike
I love the follow through on the gags. Saying that the wires needed a few hours in the Crockpot was already funny, but pulling them out the next day, with a straight face, was golden! Thanks for your efforts.
Indeed!
OMG you mean that was a joke? I so thought it was for real 🤦♀️
@@HelenBradley ditto 🤦♀️
This is my first video with this young man & I'm gonna sub & hit the bell!
@@HelenBradley So did I. I thought it would make the wires more pliable lol
@@foodsecretsvlogs1 hahahhahaah oof
A man of many talents. He cooks. He sews. He builds gadgets. He's an interior designer. The list just goes on and on. Also a man of great patience, a great quality to have. Making his momma proud.
Those Canadian gals will just love Foresty Forest! They will be banging on his door!" If they don, t find you handsome they might find you handy"👍!!
Foresty'Gyver he's building his van!
@@josephlwallssr6166 Can you imagine Foresty Forest and Red Green doing a show together. 👍🏻
He also manages his own youtube channel, films and edits his own videos and engages with his fans through his patreon.
😂...he wasn’t born, he was created! 😇
Hey Forrest. Fleet mechanic here. You can buy breakers at Napa auto parts or most auto parts stores in the 250-300A range. Get a marine grade one if its going to be outside the van. That way if it trips you can just reset it instead of waiting for a new fuse.
Great suggestion. When he said about the fuse I felt anxious for him. Like when I order really specific bicycle parts after I break something and it takes weeks except that's just my hobby and I don't risk freezing to death while I wait.
Kudos to Foresty’s folks! Look at the self-sufficient, honorable, hard-working man they raised!
those images of the geese sleeping were beautiful.
Yes, my same thoughts!
delicious
As much as I love these videos, F.F. really makes me aware of my own laziness.
Me too.
Agree😂😂
If I could buy stock in the Foresty Forest channel, I would. This channel about a chill dude modding his van and hiking massive snowy mountains hits the spot.
No frills too. All authentic. Doesn't try to be entertaining yet is infinitely entertaining
Let's promote this guy I look forward to this it's like the only sane part of my week sometimes.
and there is NEVER clickbait like "exploring a cave" He goes places other RUclipsrs bait about.
Being a patreon supporter is pretty much just that, the build images and other additional information are basically the dividends. Best dollar a month ever spent!
This guy inspires me so much!!
Me : Doesn't want to walk the liquor store 5 min away in -2C weather ....
Foresty : changes alternator in -30C with his bare hands while smiling ....
You're inspiring dude. Don't ever change
I can't even go outside when it's colder than 10* F.
I don't lay on concrete anymore. Much less snow in -30c
Can we all just donate a $1 to the “Foresty Forest Spare Special Alternator Fuse Fund?” 😱
He is making 60 grand a year from just youtube. Anybody can add up his views
I like how you kept the crock pot and fridge separated so there won't be any fighting.
Now that's phunny!
You are so funny.
I think that’s because he keeps Kosher ya know
😂😂😂
Should the crock pot and fridge do battle, one wonders who the sewing machine will side with? 😎
I love that Foresty Forest knows how his van works and isn't afraid of winter. Real life, happening right here.
You just wrote my comment 🤣 Thank's! Jesus bless you 🕊

Back in the day FF was using the top of his tire as a fridge, now he has his own fridge inside of his van. Much love from Philippines🇵🇭
The Home Depot theme song is spot on. SPONSOR THIS MAN
Yes, but we love the Foresty Forest song!
Be still my heart! A man who confidently uses a sewing machine and a quilting ruler! Nice going Foresty Forest!
Foresty Forest, he’s the crockpot king. Foresty Forest slays the sewing machine. Foresty Forest!

I'm a 76 Senior Blonde and I can't wait to see your next videos, I respect you and your seemingly endless energy in such temperatures. Your creativity is so inspiring - stay safe, and thank you for sharing.
When your gps was telling you that you’ve arrived at your destination (Home Depot) I was expecting her to say “welcome home”!
I love how all the comments are so friendly here. It’s like a breath of fresh air these days.
Ikr 😀
The way it should be. We should be celebrating our differences and be more friendly to one another. Most vanlifers get it.
Yes I can't stand ignorant people who think van dwellers are all jobless, homeless bums, mooching off of tax payers.
I live in a van ... down by the river
Canadians are the original definition of chill. They bring it out in others.
That’s crazy. I’m sitting here on an island at the Danish border watching your video from the other side of the planet and your fridge has a compressor by Danvoss, a company on another island in Denmark, just 100 km away from where I live.
I have a danfoss compressor in my small marine fridge. Its been constantly running since 2001 because I use it as a freezer. It may cost more up front for Danfoss yet is a great investment for full time living.
@@cheapcigs9772 I have an Icecool JP50 with a Danfoss compressor. Used as a refrigerator to cool things to 36 degrees from 75 ambient temperature, it uses about 8 watts per hour on average. I can run it for a week on a 120Ah battery. It may use more in warmer conditions and/or used as a freezer. Figure on maybe 12 watts in a worst-case scenario, which would be 1 amp per hour.
Oh wow! I'm sitting here on planet earth reading your comment from planet earth. I can't fucking believe it!
@@TheNaKio No way dude, same planet? That is so weird that we are both sitting here watching the same stuff!
@@manuelmartensen amazing!
I remember the days when I lived in Winnipeg and having to work on my car outside during winter. Not because I wanted, but because I had no other choice. Watching your videos brought back some of those memories. It ain't easy working with wrenches in the cold.
I watched with my 16 year ol son and he was, like me, amazed by everything you know how to do. He was like "wow he is a genius" Yu are truly amazing knowing everything from sewing to electrics. I also showed him when you climbed your 80th mountain. You are a great rolemodel to inspire 🧡
Not only is he doing hard shit that most people wouldn't do in the summertime but he films it which makes it even harder! Much respect to you Foresty Forest.

This is the video where I finally met Sir Foresty, in my local HD parking lot. we parked directly out his back window. Cool to see all the stuff he was working on.
This guy is the most do it yourselfer I've ever seen when it comes to this vanlife. Respect.
Everyone talking about the late-night upload, Foresty Forest was just doing one for the morning crew across the pond. Here in the UK this came online just in time to watch with my morning coffee.
You have a talent for making the seemingly mundane interesting.
I feel calm and peaceful and hopeful watching Foresty Forest. 100% balm for the soul.
Nothing like a Foresty Forest video drop to complete the day. Rock on FF!
I love how you do all the work right in the van, in the parking lot, or wherever. Let nothing hold you back, your drive and perseverance is really inspirational. Thanks for another great video FF, glad I picked you to be the one RUclipsr I'm a patreon of.
I can't imagine doing all that in the freezing cold...Forest is a true legend...and who gave this a thumbs down...Monsters!!! Best content on YT!
He really is the best on YT! He’s the man!
Mounting that alternator was some seriously impressive stuff especially given the cold weather you were in.
"underneath the bed can just stay cold for all I care"
The monsters underneath Foresty's bed: D:
lol
The boogeyvan!
I always put Monster energy drinks under my bed for this reason.
Foresty proving again that he is the king of the vanlifers.
He’s the only one worth watching, most others “vanlifers” are entitled chicks who get followers only because they use bikini pics as thumbnails.
We did'nt have running water for 3 days - i thought of Foresty and we made it thru each night!

No baby wipes on the cables before slow cooking. What are we, savages?

@@forestyforest nice job
You said it would not be a luxurious build when you started off. Now you're set up like a boss! Congrats Foresty!!!
Thanks Paulo!
Its important we keep Forest out of the factory.
I like that you broke the shipping package down flat before placing it in the dumpster...it's the simple things that many people don't do.
So true! Break down the boxes. More cardboard fits on the trucks meaning fewer trips, less fuel used, less pollution, etc..
Still love how Foresty videos are the only ones that I never check to see how much time is left! 13 minutes go by so fast because they're so interesting!
You need to get one of those orange Home Depot aprons - "Hello, my name is Foresty."
"A good captain knows every bolt and weld on his ship."
The way you do that power tool cutting with your hands and over your legs gives me chills, safety first young man.
"What an ordeal that was, took about an hour to do." He says it with such finesse and a calm demeanor. We all need to take a lesson from this man. Facing challenges in life shouldn't be a struggle, instead it should be a joy.
@@mikejensen4238 Seneca would enjoy the simplicity of the theme tune.

@Baba Ganush I actually rewatch some of his stuff every now and then to analyze his demeanor. Not a creep, lol, just very inspired by how he holds it together, even if things were edited out.
This van is the coolest rolling factory I've ever seen
That's a stretch
I changed an alternator once. All by my big-boy self. The old one died right before I booked a well-paying gig that required a brutal commute across LA.
As a total non-car guy it was one of the few times in my entire life I felt like a real man. LOL ...Just another day for Foresty.
As always, stay safe Si, cheers.
I was missing your old van there for a minute, it was just so cozy. The new van seemed empty and cold, but you've made it better than the last. Starting to think you missed your calling, you're damn good at building these rigs. Best of luck man, hope things work out so you can keep doing what you do and thanks for sharing.
Thank you! The minivan was super cozy. Glad this one is starting to look more like a home!
We didn't get the song this time, so I sang one myself:
Foresty Forest, he lives in a van.
Foresty Forest, he climbs what he can.
Foresty Forest, he likes cooking food.
Foresty Forest, he's online for you.

The song is super wak. Need a more gangster version.
Foresty Forest, he’s the crockpot dude!

Singing it with the voice of Barry White imo definitely gives it justice. 😌
Remember when living in a van down by the river was a threat your parents made?
How fast times change!
Lol
The comments are priceless, must warm your heart on a cold night FF, sending love from Vancouver.
It's like you have a old man's knowledge and skill inside a young man's body. Much respect!
By far the biggest advantage of living in the European Union: waking up with a new Foresty Forest video.
Yo pal. Put the intro song back please. The "Foresty forest he lives in a van foresty forest!" one. Please.
I started randomly singing that at work a couple of times, involuntarily came to mind 😆
@@ProlificInvention , I had that too hahahaha. :-)
I liked the Home Depot song intro for one video. Kinda appropriate for the install.
@@ProlificInvention Me too! I even started extending the song. Foresty Forest, he lives in a van. He sleeps by the rivers and hikes over land. FORESTY FOREST!" I should have really been focusing on some important work 😄
@@ProlificInvention I've done that walking around the house. it's pretty catchy
RUclips algorithms has brought me here. It started when you were selling your minivan. Now I'm hooked watching your adventures. Be safe Forest.
You have gone through such a transformation since the stealth days when you were working in the factory. Your personality has bloomed and the crock pot was a real turning point. Just an idea to toss your way ... think about making an extension on to your bed. You can store the platform under your mattress when in cot mode and make a 2 pillow cushions as a back support for your cot/ mattress for bed extension. Get the idea?😉
I thought you were joking about putting the cables in the slow cooker.
I know, right! ✨
May have something to do with the warning light he got.
...about 4 hours.
Funniest thing I've seen in months. Comedy genius along with all his other multiple talents. Love it.
the home depot theme song is too dang good
Not if you worked there. I'm glad I only did delivery.
Do you think the Home Depot employees watch Foresty Forest.???
pinkerton, if the HD folks workin’ corporate were smart, they’d be watching and taking notes.
He got an "honorable mention "in Chromes last vid.Because he lives in a van in the harshest conditions of our great white North....Keep him out of the factory!!!
"I'll just have to shorten this curtain." /*whips out sewing machine*/ You just gotta love this guy!
It’s hilarious every time he cracks out the sewing machine!...seriously, you have room for a sewing machine?

The way you fix everything and are so content with life is amazing
In the future when everyone will be living in vans, they will have your picture on their dashboard! 🙂

I've never in my life seen someone who is such a good Mechanic, Carpenter, Electrician, seamstress and chef all in one..... how ?
I would recommend spraying the copper terminals with some salt protection to avoid corrosion I use a permatex brake quiet spray seems to work pretty good but just something to keep them safe from all that winter road salt, Cheers
Its amazing the difference the curtain makes
2°c vs 22°c is FRIGGEN insane
Cheers from usually always sunny South Africa your upload dropped as I was drinking my morning coffee so helll yeaahhh
would be more warmer if those two green curtains are replaced with wood, and a spot light could be mounted on the wood for night time video shootings.
Goddarnit Forest, you're a Goddarn genius. That's the most outstanding work I've ever seen. You must have a goddarn I.Q. of a hundred and sixty.
FF is the best... even with all the genius he possesses... he still fears having to go back to the FACTORY... we humans are like that! I wake up most mornings, to this day, expecting my first girlfriend to scream at me... hang up ur freaking towel you no good POS :). I don't miss her AT ALL.
It's fun watching these people build and create from scratch, by themselves.
Man you got a little more space and now it is like a whole factory in your van, sewing, cutting, modifying, and all your other projects. You put to shame those guys who have to hire someone just to put on a light.
Maybe you're also losing a bit of heat from the ceiling fan. Cover it up with your fancy window covering material. You still have the vent there for exhausting. Can't hurt :-)
Loved those van component shots when the custom wiring and etc. is being utilized... You gotta start collecting a few refrigerator magnets now!
Loved the Home Depot jingle in the intro.
Well done Forest,
Just an idea but how about drilling a bunch of holes in your plywood platform to potentially warm your mattress up? Instead of warming below it would then be able to move up and warm that pad you sleep on. But the snorkel and re-vent may work better. Who knows? Keep experimenting.
And I would suggest adding insulation under the diesel heater, insulate the floor area and side wall under the sleeping platform.
Remember heat flows from a high to a low.
Cheers
Dude that Home Depot commercial music is so spot on for this channel
I was holding my breath when you were drilling into the refrigerator cabinet. There are condenser tubes imbedded into the foam insulation there.. glad it appears you missed any..
Evaporator a not condenser, but yes you are right, I was cringing too! After it was done,I imagined Harvey Korman saying "Gentlemen, gentleman, rest your sphincters!" 😁
Never thought of that, yikes. I was gentle and just pierced the metal casing. Definitely didn't hit anything underneath.
Whaddya know.. cold beer at the reach of the hand without needing to get off the bed.
I swapped out my high output alternator behind a Napa store in Iowa City in Sept. on a cross country trip. I carry extra battery, alt, starter, and tools. ALWAYS! . Glad to have a van lifer DIY'er to show folks to just Giter Dun.
Another sweet video .. watching before bedtime here in the U.K. .. I love seeing my old town Calgary ...
And here I was thinking we weren't getting a foresty forest video today.
So glad I was wrong :)

The extreme cold is gone but if you ever need a place in Calgary to plug in I have a large side yard you can come to pretty much any time, you're more than welcome - it's in front of my bus conversion. I'm not far from the Flying J.
