Warning : I played Tony Banks synth solo one semitone higher than the original. My playing skills are limited. I was not able to do it well enough in the original pitch. Just before cancelling the project, I discovered that it was easier for me to play it one semitone higher.

Awesome, and yes, whenever I attempt to play this, I transpose it too! My all-time favourite Genesis song, hands down.

Arguably Tony Banks' finest composition for Genesis. Well played, sir.

    Bravo Martin ! 👏

I never took piano lessons or learned music theory I just walked by a music store one day after school this was many years ago lol and I asked the shop owner if I could play the piano it was a huge beast grand and I fell in love with the sounds it made when I first hit those keys.
I knew right there and then this is something special and I need to learn this instrument.
I was 14 years old but I heard a song playing in the mall outside and just started playing along with it.
The shop owner asked me if I played piano and I said no this is my first time touching one,
Then as I continued to play more each day after school people would start coming into the shop and listening to me so the store owner said he would pay me 20 bucks for coming in each day to play for cash.
I did this for 2 years until I finally saved up enough money to buy a cheap older synth
I could not afford a piano to much money.
but it looked the same to me had all the keys just a little smaller and I needed headphones to hear it who knew back then? lol
So I was hooked been playing ever since on and off.
I may not be famous or the best player but I love synths and that is my short version on how I started to play. @@martinvoicesynthmusic1732

This story is so cool ! It's fun and nostalgic to remember how we started. For me I was 12 years old in summer 1987 and there was a Genesis concert on TV (Invisible Touch Tour). At that time, I was not really interest by music. I know Phil Collins a bit and like it but I did not know he was in Genesis and I did not know Genesis at all. So I thought I was lwatching a Phil Collins concert and I did not understand why it was writen Genesis when we were back from the commercial !! Anyway, when I saw Tony Banks surrounded by keyboards that change my life... @@synthworxswx8709

I transpose all the time: being comfortable in a key channels more energy to timing and feel, and theres nothing wrong in that regard in this video.
If you ever visit The Netherlands be sure to contact me: I got a few of the instruments behind the plug-ins listed here and a couple more (like an ARP Quadra you'll definately enjoy playing considering you're a fan of Banks).
