@@cedarwaxwing3509 Downes is a skillful keyboardist, at least from watching him play in the 80s (Drama tour) yes recordings. Matt, thanks for the tour! It gave me a flashback... I use to play all that gear and more... after 40 I started playing solo piano gigs... now, my back hurts just looking at your cool rig ! LOL I find the H/S KX-1 does the trick when I need a Hammond... but I do use a real 145 Leslie. For solo piano gigs where I have to bring the piano, I'm using the Williams Legato (in stereo < that's very important with those cheap pianos) Kurzweil PC1x stays in the studio. The piano case has wheels w/a handle and brakes in two for the stand. At 63 who can haul all that gear around except young turks like you !

Vintage sounds never get old, ours ears may start to fail, like hearing the ringing of a bell, the distant sound of a train, tinnitus can bring pain but the vintage sound of a musical keyboard will remain the same.
Younger ears will come and older ears will go, but the music in our minds will continue to flow.

I once made an organ with 88 x ICL8038, the pinnacle of syntethic sound.
The difference between a original mellotron and a MIDI mellotron is in the aftertouch, like you can modulate the sound release; as an hapsicord vs pipe organ.
Again thanks, I love your sinth, remember Guardiano del Faro...

There are LOTS of excellent RUclips players, many of them way better than very famous ones with decades of touring and many recorded albums, the reason these RUclips players are not that successful? The famous ones have entered into music industry in the 60s-70s, tons of money, contacts and heavyweight management companies.

Shirley you don't mean Rick Wakeman!
There are TWO bands under the name of YES in fact. The only one worth a damn is Yes, Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman (ARW).

Great run through. If the rest of the cover band is as committed... wow, you'd do an amazing show!
