Peter Gunn himself was played by Craig Stevens. He was a talented, experienced actor who’d been in TV, films, stage productions, and even war propaganda films.
Peter’s girlfriend was played by Lola Albright. She brought the necessary sex appeal to the role as well as plenty of experience. She’d been acting for years before joining the Peter Gunn cast and even had moderate success as a singer.
Herschel Bernardi had an impressive film, TV, and stage career before he joined the Peter Gunn cast, and he continued to earn awards and critical acclaim during his time on the show.
2 women took on the role of matron Mama. The first was Hope Emerson whose imposing figure and acting talent combined to get her plenty of roles. She was eventually replaced by Minerva Urecel. Their physical resemblance wasn’t where the similarities stopped; she was also just as talented and experienced.
Billy Barty was more than a talented actor who took on the role of pool hustler Babby in Peter Gunn. He was also an activist who worked to ensure the rights of other actors with dwarfism and showed that they could be just as talented as anyone else.
Each member of the Peter Gunn cast used the show to prove themselves as an actor. Many of them went on to have long and fruitful careers after it ended, and the entertainment world lost many of its brightest stars when they passed away.

Peter Gunn was a fantastic detective show. From cast to script to music score was magnificent. May they all rest in peace.
We definitely agree. We're happy that you love Peter Gunn from music to cast! Who is your favorite cast member?
@@FactsVerse Edie Hart
Craig Steven aka Peter Gunn Reminds Me Of Robert Stack’s Version Of Elliot Ness From The TV Series The Untouchables
Peter Gunn was a very entertaining detective series in the1950's As a teenager I never missed an episode!
You're a true fan! Thank you for sharing this ❤
Which episode is your favorite?
That was a long time ago! I liked them all - the scenes at "Mother's"nightclub (Hope Emerson, Minerva Urecal) where Edie was a jazz singer, the romance between Peter and Edie, and always wondering if Peter will return safe from one of his assignments! Nothing as entertaining on television today!
My dad playing the PETER GUNN soundtrack album is one of the reasons why I love jazz today!
Boy Lola Albright was super cute, missed her wishes her, wish Peter Gunn would of lasted linger....prayers for her and family..🙏🙏🙏
We agree! Thank you for watching our content. Be on the lookout for our next video!
Boy Lola Albright? I thought Girl Lola Albright was much more super cuter!
Hope Emerson did not graduate from high school in 1969. It was 1916. OOPS! In Peter Gunn, she didn't play Mother in the program till 1999. Another OOPS! Met Billy Barty at the Little Peoples Golf tournament in the mid-70s. A lot of nice celebrities to meet while playing golf.
Reruns are still on MeTV on Sunday night and it is a great show
We strongly concur! Which episode are you on now?
Cut the cable - could I find it on my phone?
I was to young to see this show but it looks like the show was good he looks like he was a good actor God bless them all
Thank you for your message! Yes, the show is great 😁
You got my attention when you said he was born in Liberty, MO and went to UMKC. I'm from the Kansas City area too.
Glad to hear that, how is Kansas City nowadays?
@@FactsVerse It's a great place to live...and visit. 😀
Billy Barty was also on "Super Dave".
Rest in Peace Hershel...🙏🙏
May Hershel find peace. What other types of videos would you like to see?
Loved the show, wished they made a ton more. Favorite?
Hard to pick one.. Lola Albright was such a a great singer and so pretty, Peter Gun such a great character and the Sargent was so natural... Thanks to all the others...
I've never been disappointed by anything Blake Edwards was involved with, and Peter Gunn was no exception. The theme song is one for the ages (thanks, Henry Mancini) and There was never a sexier couple than Edie and Pete.
I've never seen this show, but am going to see if I can find it. Lola was beautiful and a fellow Akronite!! 😊
My favorite was Lola Albright.
Wow Craig Steven's, w hff at was unusual how this upset my parents they were extreme catholics and thought this Series to Tracey as nd violent, but I watch more of it in reruns and really liked the Series..
Peter Gunn was the best detective show on tv I still watch it today. I would like to say Roger Craig was my favorite character on the show but how could say that while Lola Albright is standing next to him and that goes for any other of the characters on the show
Hope Emerson played "Mother" on Peter Gunn from 1958 to 1999? I don't think so 😆
Not in this timeline anyway lol
At 9:54, Hope Emerson was on 'Peter Gunn' from 1958 to 1999??? Emerson died on April 24th, 1960,........But she was on 'Peter Gunn' for 39 more years??
..................................................got it.
My favorites were Craig Stevens and Lola Albright. What a beautiful and talented singer she was They don't make men or women like them anymore. I never realized there was two mothers since the two looks so much alike until now. Sad to see my parents generation dying off.
Our favorites too, you've got fine taste! What other types of video would you like to see?
Lola Albright very pretty lady in my 👀eyes.
She's beautiful in your eyes too! What was her role that appealed to you the most?
I watched Archer often back when I watched Television before they made every man seem like a makeup wearing wimp expressing their every feeling.
this dude, or whoever runs this channel, cannot be trusted. in their "Little Rascals, how everyone died" video, he says that Robert Blake was convicted of murdering his wife and is "still in prison until this day"... Blake was acquitted and is still alive and not in prison. do jot believe this hype for likes person/channel. cannot be trusted, as the comments are disabled on that particular video. it should be taken down. shady stuff
Wrong series from 58 to 61
