Locke’s mother told him that he was immaculately conceived and the plane was filled with Virgin Mary’s. I think that’s the reason she was in the dream.

Also wondering if she is there as a warning to Locke that the plane is a trick/con (or will be for Boone, at the very least). She helped con him out of his kidney, so there's an implication that she represents something not being as it seems (in a negative way).
Edit: especially as she's pointing upwards as well (ostensibly to the plane).

Obrigado, Rodrigo! Quando vi pela primeira vez o momento em que John teve esse sonho, caguei de medo! Uma visão brilhante! Tenho muita pena do John Locke! No momento em que a luz se acendeu, eu amo esses finais! É como a sensação de quando você está desesperado, mas aí a luz do consolo se acendeu! Esse momento transmite uma sensação interior incrível! Eu amo LOST!
Realmente, Dmitry! Uma sensação inesquecível de assistir esse episódio e esse final, depois de sofrer junto com Locke por toda sua história triste e com o ocorrido na ilha.

I never tried to come up with a meaning why Locke's mother was in his dream but my 1st theory is that it might be about John feeling betrayed by the Island because it's taking back his legs, like her mother betrayed to her. So she might symbolize betrayal.
Edit: I just saw jayscott867's comment about her saying "you're immaculately concieved" to Locke which would make her Virgin Mary, and the plane was full of Virgin Mary statutes. That's another connection there explaining her appearing in the dream and pointing towards the plane. Weird I thought about this for the 1st time watching the reaction, said "omg, cool, I never realized that" and somehow managed to forget it until I read that comment down below.

Second Locke flashback, second sad story from John! The guy can't have a break. And the contrast between the poor "home John" and "island John" couldn't be more clear: both times, after the sad conclusion of the flashback, we get an incredible development in the present. Too bad his "miracle" brought him to be so much self centered
The contrast between the two Johns confirms how the island means a totally new life for him. I mean, who wouldn't be fascinated? But in times of great passion (of any kind), it's also where you're more susceptible to your own weaknesses...
Love the ending reaction hahahha, they always want to watch more to see what happens! :D

Na boa o Jack desse ep com sarcasmo e tipo pouca paciência no assunto Sawyer mas se preocupando é uma das melhores versões do Jack para mim.
Hurley zoando (achataram a cara do Harry Potter me pega muito), Jack deixando irritado e Sayid ajudando o Sawyer quem diria.
O Locke desesperado por não saber por que o milagre esta sendo revertido é pesado.
Como diria o Kiel o Boone é um adulto vacinado, eu não subia no avião mas nem que me pagasse e outra poderia simplesmente falar vamos pegar uma corda ou algo para ajudar a subir no avião.
Erro do Locke é sumir após deixar o Boone. Mas a sequencia dele gritando na escotilha e a musica subindo é umas das melhores cenas de Lost para mim.
Falou tudo, cara! Sobre John e Boone, é isso aí mesmo!
Adoro demais o Jack nesse episódio hahaha! Toda essa história dos óculos do Sawyer é boa demais!

Locke is selfish. He only takes care of others when they do not go against his own interests. Some people are blinded by his charisma but forget his actions. Like a guru.
"The island will tell us what to do." Say what? lol.
I don't think I've ever tried to drill down too much in Locke's vision, i.e., what the mother being in it means. The most important parts where the plane, and Boon's comment about Teresa falls up the stairs, Teresa down the stairs. And I do think that was there to make Boon believe more in Locke's vision.
That's for sure. As you said there, Boone mocked the Island's communication. Then the island communicated with Boone through John. It's like It's saying "Here it is, son".
Oh, guys....
I almost forgot to mention that I have a "most hated tv show characters" list or it could also be a "most hated fictional characters (all time)" and Anthony Cooper is on my list. He's #2! 😅
So, imagine, out of all the characters I ever saw on tv shows or movies, he's my 2nd most hated....
Of course I didn't make a whole list with ALL the characters I EVER hated (because that would be a LONG list and ranking them would be the biggest pain 😅) but just the main ones that REALLY count to me and so that I can rank them. (Did that the same way for example with "all time favorite actors", you know?)
I only hated one person more passionately than Locke's father but that one has nothing to do with Lost...
He certainly deserves that 2nd place haha!

Observação inicial: comentei no episódio passado sobre a "portinhola" e você sem nem ler atendeu as minhas preces (e com o Victor se corrigindo ainda pra usar "escotilha"!). Losties BR raiz. *-*
Cara... algumas observações sobre esse episódio:
1) Fiquei imaginando se, caso assistíssemos esse episódio com um médico de formação, ele saberia dizer o que o Sawyer tem. Seria muito massa. huehueuheuhue
2) Lost tem N cenas de comédia muito boas pra comentar, mas eu sempre lembro dessa do Sawyer pra falar pra uma pessoa com quem eu já tenha assistido. O que quero dizer é que é um plot excelente de comédia pra contrastar com o plot principal do episódio que é um dos que podem ser considerados mais bad vibes da série toda. Excelente roteiro!
3) Olha... já assisti Lost com um punhado de gente e eu nunca conheci ninguém que - SPOILERZAÇO ABAIXO...
... manja a virada de The Brig assistindo a primeira vez. Mas esse grupo é muuuuuito bom, cara!
Não é tão simples assim entender de cara que esse flashback inteiro é um golpe do pai dele.

hum fiquei na duvida se o ciclo do locke realmente foi realizado, acho q no desenrolar da serie acabam deixando de lado o drama dele...por causa da trama macarronica q vira...
Os escritores com certeza tiveram que mudar vários caminhos que tinham planejado... possivelmente esse plot sofreu alterações também.

I think she was just telling him what he needed to hear to help him seek out his dad. It was part of the dad's scheme to get Locke's kidney.

Because if she meant that he would lose his kidney, that's just weird and evil...
I think she didn't know anything. That's probably all Anthony's instructions, word by word, to make John feel important and go after more info.

Infelizmente a legenda omitiu o que foi falado do outro lado da comunicação com o Boone. Na verdade, foi dito "Nós somos os sobreviventes do voo 815". Isso também é difícil de entender em inglês. Mas é mais um mistério plantado pelo episódio. Na época em que vi, eu adorava especular que diabos essa resposta significava =p

@@reatores Perdão, Rodrigo! Editei aqui, por via das dúvidas. Não tinha colocado porque realmente acredito ser um erro de omissão da legenda. Na descrição do episódio na Lostpedia, por exemplo, eles transcrevem essa fala, e as descrições só revelam informações reveladas nos próprios episódios. Também me lembro que na época do episódio muita gente havia entendido o áudio e algumas legendas feitas por fãs vinham com a fala correta. Mas concordo que não fica muito claro e que é difícil de pegar de primeira.

When Locke losts his faith (in the Island), he starts to suffer consequences. Like losing the feeling of his legs or the ability to walk.
Could that be some kind of foreshadowing? 🤔

You say like in his dreams? If so, I think the dreams are manipulated (induced) by the MiB. Also, I think the Island has it own consciousness and make things happen to fulfill it purpose (for example when Jack gets appendicitis to not leave the island).
