ETIQUETTE effing forget cursing: get people to return to raking bunkers, fixing divots, not playing loud music, 0or partying on the course like hen do, FFS!

Just say to them "You're not good enough to throw a club". Works every time

I don’t mind a “f*ck” once the shot, I don’t mind music, casual clothes, having fun. The minute the clubs get broken or bags getting hit, that’s what I don’t like. Golf is meant to be fun. You’re not good enough to be that angry.

No place for music on a golf course

    I try not to swear.
When I do I play really badly; if I then keep on with swearing, I play worse.
If I manage to check myself, I.e. look at the clouds, the ducks, horses, etc. I usually calm down & start to play better.
So, swearing, for me, is like a check to keep calm.

I joke that as a teenager I had more iron in orbit than NASA.
I have matured, at least a little and now mostly just mumble and swear under my breath. It is something of a self correction of myself and I use it to release some frustration. I've found that if I don't chew myself out a little bit it tends to build until I explode on a shot that wasn't that bad but could have been better.
It is one of the reasons I prefer to walk. I can walk up to the ball while mumbling insults as myself knowing that no one else is really hearing it, at least much, and I have the time release that frustration before I get to the ball. I play better when I do this. Is it a touch of immaturity? Probably. Do I still throw clubs? On rare occasions yes but not like I did in my teens and 20s. I have learned to not let it build to an exploding point.
The etiquette that I see disappearing is the basic stuff that you see actually on the course. The failure to repair ball marks or fill divots, hitting into people intentionally (had that happen last round, about took some guys head off), screwing around and not allowing faster players through, not raking traps.
As for idiocy on the course, you are right. A lot depends on context. If you are playing in an extremely causal event where there is a lot of fermented hops flowing then you can expect some stupidity. At the same time nothing ruins a round like some idiots blasting their music behind me at the level of a DC10 taking off. I don't mind music, I play it sometimes. What I don't do is play it loud enough to be heard four holes ahead of me. This is a game for everyone and it should be one enjoyed by everyone. Your enjoyment should never come at the cost of another person's if that person's expectations are reasonable.

Gone? Hell yes it’s gone. They sell SPEAKERS for golf carts to blast music. A pro throws a club in the water at a major! They should have left the club the water.

I feel like if you swear consistently, like some people it's every sentence, then swearing loses its impact. Swearing should be impactful. Either to emphasize a point that needs it or if the timing of it is funny.

Bad language is on every tour.. even lpga, I've stood there marshalling and heard players blurt out all kinds of stuff.. even the most reserved of players 😂 so it's hardly just a LiV thing like the media are brainwashing you to thinking.
Tantrums however come along with a certain kind of player, and it shouldn't be categorised as "passion"... if you break and damage stuff then you're a spoilt bell end, plain and simple. 😁👍
