Having played all the course listed in Ireland, Carne Golf Clubs new 18 layout actually trumps all of them, knowhere near the championship condition of the others but the layout is just unreal.
Pete you must travel up to royal Dornoch! It’s an absolute must and play Brora also whilst there!
Very interesting to hear and a great subject for all golfer who are lucky enough to Travel playing golf world wide.
My Ten…St Andrews,North Berwick,Royal Birkdale,Royal Lytham,Tralee,Ballybunion Old,Monte Rei,West Cliffs,Penha Longa Atlantico&Wallasey.👍
Very enjoyable listen
Love the list Peter! My favorite of the group is Royal Portrush. My favorite course in Ireland. North Berwick is incredible. My favorite Scottish course. I was a huge fan of Royal Liverpool. Been blessed to play it twice. You need to play some of the gems in the US!
Haha I love the “he who shall not be named”. Listen, us across the pond, not all of us asked for him. But oh how lovely it is to be entering the age of sweet retribution.
Come out to Oregon, scenery and courses here are worth it!
I played his course in LA and it’s exactly what you’d expect: Ads everywhere, everything is cheap but meant to look expensive, they try to sell you a red hat in the clubhouse when you check in. Can’t wait until he loses his courses, especially in Scotland
Great list. North Berwick is a really great course, love it.
Happy to put all you guys up at Marine Troon. For a round at Royal Troon before the open.
@@ryanmarshall1952 let’s make it happen!!
Costa Navarino in Greece is a joy. Definitely one you should try.
Peter finch golf & team need to get on a plane and come down under to NZ then you'll have new favs ⛳
I saw some courses on NZ and they were unbelievable!
I've never looked into NZ courses before, but wow, they look incredible
You need to come out to Utah. There are some great courses in both Northern and Southern Utah.
Would love to invite you out to Las Vegas Pete! There’s something wild about desert courses. Wolf Creek is unbelievable.
Love your content mate! Big fan for ages! 🙌
Peter. We love your videos. Would love to see you do a golf course tour of Isle of Arran 😊
He has played Shiskine....
Lake Tahoe Pete!! One of the best golfing destinations on the planet! Edgewood, Coyote Moon, Old Greenwood, Gray's Crossing, Incline, The Dragon!! Ping us next time you're here.
Castle Stuart is an absolute must. Simply stunning.🤗
Pete you need to come down and play the sandbelt courses in Melbourne
New to finding these. Are the whole things not filmed and posted to YT?
Swinley Forest, Formby, Waterville, Adamstal (Austria), Kingsbarns, Royal Dornoch, Sunningdale (Old), Rio Secco (Las Vegas), Sand Hollow (Utah), Trump Aberdeen. In no particular order.
My grandad was a member at two of these courses. 😂
You are so right about doonbeg, because of the Trump factor, it is quite often overlooked, but is an amazing course.
Did you play both old and new course at ballybunion? A lot of consensus is that new course is the better of the two. If you have a mash up of both you will have the best course…
Think Adare Manor might have had a mention, the whole experience is a joy.
Having revently moved to west coast of ireland, definitely spoilt for choice!
Would be good to see a top 10 list of affordable courses on the podcast as a lot of these courses at €250+ for a round…
Tralee and Waterville in kerry Ireland are fantastic, you also have HogsHead in Waterville.. Some special courses here in Kerry..
Arnold palmer once said about Tralee ‘I designed the front 9 god designed the back 9’
Great courses.
North Berwick is a fantastic course, that is an epic top Ten even the special mentions are some top 15. I noticed no Gleneagles Courses or was that under Heathland Courses.
I played North Berwick once, wind was blowing, only time I was hitting 5 irons 250 yds and Drivers into the wind 200. My dad played Portrush, he thought it was about the best course he had played and my dad thought Carnoustie was the best.
In no particular order (per Pete): Old Head (Ireland), Pinehurst #2 (US), Port Monarch (Ireland), St. Andrews Old Course (Scotland), Royal County Down (UK), Turnberry (Scotland), Royal Portrush (UK), Ballybunion (Ireland), North Berwick (UK), Royal Aberdeen (Scotland)
No tobacco road
Correction - Royal County Down (Northern Ireland) & Royal Portrush (Northern Ireland)
@@jimmyn1357 Yeah and NI is in the UK so it's correct 🤷♂️
Portmarnock*
It is Portmarnock not Port Mornoch
If you’re planning a golf trip just come to the south of Ireland. You got old head, tralee, ballybunion, Lahinch, Waterville and dooks all links within 2 hours of 1 central point. Also have Killarney and fota which are Irish open parkland courses and adare manor which is hosting the Ryder cup. Probably in forgetting a few aswell
Totally unaffordable for the average golfer.
Ballybunion and lahinch have new courses that are not considered as prestigious as the old ones and maybe not as spectacular but still amazing for better value. Doonbeg and dooks aren’t very expensive. Killarney and fota arnt crazy expensive either. Still gona cost €50 to €150 a round.
Get up to Royal Dornoch
Shout out to my old friend Ron Kirby, one of the design team at the Old Head.
Sitting on the fence a little pete😅
When are you coming to SA ? There are so many great tracks out here and much cheaper than Australia and New Zealand
Favourite?
Pinnacle point
The Irish Tourist Board will be delighted with you. Glad I played at least one of them, well just one! Pricing is an issue at some of them; they are not for the ordinary bloke who thinks paying north of, and well north in some cases, £200 for a round of golf is ott over the kids.
I would much prefer a list of the best courses that welcome everybody and not just the high rolling yanks.
With regards to Irish links courses u haven't played yet
1. Tralee ( Barrow ) golf club
Arnold Palmer design ( 1982 )
2. Dooks golf club
3. Waterville golf club
all are in County Kerry.
Also u were chatting about the german supermarkets Aldi & Lidl having a family connection this is not the case .
But there are 2 Aldi companies in europe because when the company started early on, 2 brothers had a falling out & went their separate ways
meaning there are different logos but the shops look & feel the same .
Love the podcast thx ,
Christy 🇮🇪/🇵🇹 👍
I liked Waterville more than Ballybunion and (barely) Lahinch.
All links bar Pinehurst and Old Head. God's creations which happen to have a fairway and greens stuck in them.....Played Old Head, Ballybunion, Royal County Down and was a member in Portrush....but Enniscrone is one not to miss in Ireland. A little gem.
Old head is a links also, agree on enniscrone but also county Sligo down the road is under rated
Old head is not really a links. By the sea? of course but does not link the beach to farmland? No. It doesn't have links turf.
And Carne, stunning
No one ever seems to include courses in Japan; some absolutely stunning - something magic about teeing off with a blue sky and a snow-capped MountFuji in front of you. A 100 or so courses within 90 minutes of central Tokyo.
Ou need to try and get over and play Tralee golf club it’s unbelievable
Pete come to NZ. I’ll shout you around some of our best and I’ll be amazed if we don’t make it in….
Every word he said about St Andrews is so true
I'd love a "Make an 18-hole par 72 course using the world's best courses". Do a links and parkland course separately.
No Dornoch ?😮
What about all thr world clasd golf courses in Surrey you forgot to mention??
Back 9 Hillside class ,
Leopard Creak, South Africa. Portrush, NI. Monte Rei Portugal. Pinehurst No2, Fancourt (links) South Africa. Mangawhai, New Zealand. I will be castigated as there are no Scottish golf courses, its because every time ive been there, the weather has been so bad, couldn’t rate how good the courses were, at a push i agree with North Berwick, because although the weather was bad, it was so different.
Where does adare manor fall?
where do you come from again Peter?....ah yes...The UK!
Adare Manor?
Other than Pinehurst#2 they’re all links. Surely there must be some in land courses like Ross on Wye for example.
Did he mention The European club?
How about the K Club?
Western Gales next door to Troon is a better course
Next up lads..A top ten of courses under 100 quid
well this is golf porn, Have a mate who is obsessed, he updates me on his handicap to the decimal point, I'm just glad to be there, if I get one good hole , I'm made up, but a joy to play with people like this, the aesthetics are important. Links is where it's at.
Guys - do you realise the camera is on and we can see you? You could try a bit harder
Turnberry is the best course in the world its truly amazing, its an absolute travesty its been removed from the rota
Clue…Donald Trump?
@@chrisbrader7720not everything is about Donald Trump 🤦🏻♂️
@@mercer8530 That is why Turnberry will NEVER get The Open!..Donald Trump!
There’s nothing like old head
The guy on Pete’s left looked unimpressed throughout 90% of that podcast lol
As long as that umpa lumpa owns Turnberry the place wont get on the real tour
So true about Trump selling rump International. Deserves to hold a high level tournament but never will if he owns it.
Old Head is not even in Irelands top ten
Portmarnock overrated. Check out the European club in Wicklow
These thumbnails with the daft faces. Surely you don't need to be doing that Pete??
Old Head is not a links course. It's fantastic, but plays nothing like a links course.
The same old Irish, take a good Scottish thing,(usually cmhange the spelling(then try to sell off as their own. The only problem is, the trademark belongs to Scotland. Nae luck.😂
Couldn't be talking about whisk(e)y here now could you?
Trump❤
Cult.
Not gonna lie, kinda lost some respect for Pete listening to this. Big fan of the content but wishing ill upon people you have political disagreements with is a bad look. Instead of hating Trump, maybe try expressing gratitude and appreciation for creating/developing one your favorite courses. Leaves a better taste in the mouth of your viewers. Cheers mate.
#Trump2024
#letsfuckinhopenot
#unfitforoffice
Wanna point out where he wishes ill on someone ? Just gives the course its proper name. Snowflake trumpers as per usual.
Lost interest after Trump bashing. We get you don’t like him but this is about golf courses not who owns them
@@garywright6837 and who owns them impacts how much you can enjoy them.
@@jonnyb2774 I take it you research the owners of every course before you play? Trump international and Turnberry are magnificent courses regardless of who “owns” them. Just enjoy them as courses.
No C arnoustie Pete????.....im close to pressing the unsubscribe button with unbridled enthusiasm.
The soy on the bed got butthurt? Keep it up and everything will be full muslim soon on your cold rock.
My gawd man. Wtf?
