- Bull rider J.B. Mauney suffered a career-ending injury when he broke his neck on Arctic Assassin at the Lewiston, Idaho, rodeo.

That ring tattoo on his finger was done by a tattoo artist that worked for me in Ada Oklahoma.. I had already went home for the day and that night when the Artist got off work he called me to say, You will never guess who I just tattooed.. He was right. I would have never guessed. Lol. Wish I had of worked late that day and got to be there but hey. I built the business that made it happen for one of my best friends still to this day. Steve Littlefield. He knew waaaaay more than me about bull riding so it was much more appropriate that he (Steve) had the opportunity to meet, hangout, and tattoo JB.
JB got his number and he was riding in Okc and contacted Steve and had him front and center tickets to that event. Wish i had got to meet JB as well just based on the fact that Steve said that JB was one of the coolest most down to earth people you could meet.. Thank you JB, for choosing my studio and thank you for being a great person ans giving one of my best friends an experience he will never forget.. Twice!! Best wishes to you!!.
This is the type of person kids need to be inspired by nowadays. A real man and an amazing human. Both my mom and I have loved occasionally watching JB, neither of us have ever watched bull riding before JB and we are heartbroken to hear what happened. Nothing can stop this cowboy.
I often forget just how tough bull riders are. We always use pro football or rugby as the standard, but bull riders are the toughest SOB’s out there.

I haved watched rodeo and bull riding all my life and I seen great men in the sport come and go. But I have never seen ANYONE like J.B. Mauney ride a bull the way he does. He's lucky he's alive because you can get killed in this sport. Sad that his vcareer is over. But he has a lot to twach up and coming Riders and I hope he passes his knowledge on.

I fell 36 ft broke my pelvis in 2 places 4 lumbar vertebrae 3 c vertebrae and both ankles. I'm not comparing but jb let me get on a bull. That was 10 years ago. I'm still burning gas and rocking square toes til I die bud
