    Nope. No prybars for you Graffunder. I really like these. There is a point in plate thickness/hardness where an angle grinder is just a pain (I own a metal fabrication business). You are buying a lot of time with the Graffunder. With the additional layers of security system, dog, nosy neighbors and "nobody knows it is here" and finally, good insurance I'd be very confident storing a bit of wealth and firepower.

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  Год назад +1

      Thanks for your input. Where do you think the line is regarding effectiveness of an angle grinder vs. steel thickness?

    • @imkindofabigdeal4308
      @imkindofabigdeal4308 Год назад +5

      @@parkerssafes At about 1/4" + thickness an angle grinder is a pain. Slow, kickback and eats standard cutoff wheels. And more risk of the wheel detonating into your face. The most common angle grinders use 4.5" cutoff wheels which gives you about 1" of actual cutting capacity (the grinder takes up some space and the wheels are consumed pretty fast on thick plate). The next size up grinder (not as common) is 6". More capacity but I imagine a bad guy with the 20 wheel value pack would have to clear his calendar for the day to get into a Graffunder with one.

    I'm curious about corrosion threats in safes, especially gun safes.
    Obviously higher-end safes are often made much more properly, but what can you really do for safes that aren't crazy good, top-of-the-line quality? What kind of ways could you determine the construction of the Safe wont release chemicals that would eat away at firearms or other metals stored within for long periods of time? What safes are known for using proper, safe materials that dont cost a literal fortune?

    • @parkerssafes
      @parkerssafes  3 года назад +5

      Generally, I'd say be careful with the imported stuff. A number of years ago, there was a bunch of sheetrock that came from China that had way too much moisture in it. It caused a lot of problems with gun safes that used it along with major issues in the building industry. I haven't had any problems with corrosion in any brands that we currently sell. Additionally, I haven't heard of any recent corrosion problems with any safes. Keeping a nice coat of oil on your firearms covers a multitude of sins.

    How does weight of the 6032 effect the average home foundation? I have a slabbed home built in '68 and didn't know what might happen having a compact, 2000 lbs object roll across it and then permanently bolting it down in corner of house. I hear slab thicker in corners.

    • @parkerssafes
