For the floor of the chicken coop you might want to invest in a piece of lanolin easier to clean and a lot less smell from chicken manure just a suggestion. Larry

It looked like a giant baby bed but I don't think you have a giant baby so it is going to be a very strong chicken coop. I hope the dear chickens don't poop so much as to ruin the floor but maybe you will have some stuff to absorb it all between cleanings. Egg gathering is sometimes a favorite chore for children and you have got them in spades. Great coop.

Natalie, right hand hammers sure can mess up a left handed girl when trying to pound nails. Barkley is a great addition the your family. The chicken coop looks like it will be a great home for your chickens. Big blessings to all of you folks.

Yes, keeping things aesthetically pleasing to the eye is an important consideration.... but then there's cost! I've been going back and forth as to whether I should get chickens. There's the commitment factor, but there's also the cougar, coyote, and bear factor to consider! As for snow, last week we (southern Sierra Nevada) had three storms in a single week for a total of about six inches, but it melted off quickly after each storm.

Go to the remnants bins at Lowe’s or home depot and get a piece of rolled vinyl for the floor. It’s moisture proof and easier to clean than wood.

There is just come out a new heated water bow for chicken , you may get it for the chicken during winter, so you don’t have to break the ice to give them fresh water each time , great chicken coup , I really love when you save the woods and used it for the next project , your pup is adorable, ❤❤great channel ❤❤

You work highly consciously but chicken 🐔 accomodation needs a mesh underside for the poo 💩 to fall out . I highly recommend John Seymour ' s book on self- sufficiency. It is regarded as the 'Bible' on that subject and is published by Dorling-Kindersley.😅 I so enjoy your videos and would like to see you succeed

That plumb hammer face looks a little slick, beat a rock with it to rough it up so the nails don't glance. I used to file a grid in my hammer's face when they got slick. I REALLY like your chicken coop, it looks great.

  • @Oldfunnylady1965

Suggestion for floor in coup. Use a roll laminate. So easy to clean out and the chickens aren’t heavy enough to poke through the laminate and make holes.

That is one beefy chicken coop---which is smart considering the winds y'all get out there. Cool puppy and the hope that it'll get along, eventually, with the cat(s), chickens, and whatever other livestock ends up drifting in to join the fam.

    Also use insulation
