Time, energy, patience, and persistence. You have it all! Plus, you always work as a team when you need too! It's a pleasure to watch you build this house. And you are Happy, with a happy family! You are a great example for others!
Hello from North Carolina, I love ya'll, you work so well together. That lady is tough and strong, and you are so smart in covering things out. Your home is going to be beautiful. I look forward to seeing it finished . l am 76 years young I can't do much any more but I can watch you two and I enjoy every moment. Y'all have a blessed day.
I love watching families working together to meet a common goal. Don’t care much for the competition of families, which in my humble opinion is divisive to families. Your family works so well together. It’s a joy to watch
Natalie, you're doing a great job keeping Jacob out of the ER. Love seeing how well you two work together, and the progress you make. Please stay safe, see you next week!!
OMG, you are truly the modern MacGyver😂 i’m so happy to see the house progressing. I think I am more excited about this house than you guys are and it’s going to be such a blessing for your family More importantly, to know that you all built it together! It is going to be a special place, a very special home❤❤ blessings to you and your family
love the creativeness on moving the i joists, put a weight in the back of the truck...what a great idea moving them along the top of the framing! Eli the sup making sure everything is done correctly...love it...thanks for sharing
You guys are kicking butt! Making very fast progress, living off grid is a time sucker you guys are kicking it. My wife and I built 2 houses together on grid and that was tuff. You are taking it to a new great level.
Hello Jacob. Top plates. I have walked many top plates, bending over with a framing hammer (we did not use air guns back in the 1980s) and with a nail pouch filled with 16D Sinkers sending those 16Ds all in at angles. What a tiring job that was. You make it look so easy.
You two are Mr. and Mrs. Fantastic! You are faced with a problem and talk about it then select a plan of action that seems correct. And.... what do you know? It works. Moving the joists with your sticks was a safe way to move the joist in place. I love how you collaborate and support each other. Blessings to you as you proceed with your house build.
My husband was an ironworker and it's a skill to be confident and safe working & walking at heights. You've figured out a safe method Jacob & the build isn't about mastering all the trades. Though those two youngsters may have a future in house construction.😉💗👍🇨🇦
Thanks for sharing your journey with us! Moving those joists with the pole was outstanding. You probably could have worn gloves to protect your hands. I look forward to each episode. Thank you!
I'm glad to see you got your 30 ft. I joists moved on your trailer. I think if you had rigged all the way to the end of your load and started with your log frame more at a 45° angle? Then as you lift you would transfer more of the weight to the front of the trailer. You had the right idea I think it was just a matter of rigging and the lift points. Shifting the center of gravity further to the front. Just for the purposes of getting down your driveway. Don't know for sure how that would've worked it's just something I think I would have tried. Good job on your home build. We love your videos. Been watching since the beginning. If people are watching and haven't subscribed what are you waiting for? This is an excellent RUclips channel.
Good Morning! New subscriber here from Green Bay, WI! Your video popped up out of nowhere. Looking forward to catching up on your progress. We are building a small off grid cabin in northern WI. Have a good one, cheers!
Looking good, and nice of you to build a jungle gym for the kids. On a side note, with how late in the season it is, you mite want to paint the subfloor on the first story. It is going to get wet soon and painting it will help in keeping the water from soaking in and getting the I-beams wet.
Have you considered the location of toilets, bathtub/shower drains or vent stacks for upstairs. It is very frustrating to realize that there is a floor joist dead center of a toilet drain, or bathtub/shower drain. Also the direction the main drain has to run in an upstairs bathroom. That to can be very frustrating to find a 4 inch drain will have to be cut into every floor joist when the joists can be planed ahead to run in the same direction. Just a thought. One more thought, it is advisable to install all dead wood or sheetrock nailers on the top plates as well as blocking to tie a free standing wall before installing the decking. It is tough to nail with the decking in place. You may have thought about all this already but in case you haven't. I am not trying to be a know it all, I have been there and just want to try help save you some frustrations if I can.
I wanna take a guess as to why you're not framing the second-half of the house yet. It seems to me that you're gonna make a second story on top of the current part that you're building. And that the part you're not building will be single story with extra high ceilings. Therefore it will be easier to frame that part when you get the second story done on the first part. Am I close, lol
Too late now, but in case you have more long stuff to bring down. What about you slinging the end with a strap and using the tractor to lift up the weight and both of you drive slowing down the driveway.
I’m enjoying watching you and the family build your dream home. Being a builder for 40 years walking the plate isn’t for most . I would have rented a sky track . 🇺🇸
Hey brother, your are going to need a Telehandler, lease or buy a good used one! And, all the time you spent telling us why you wont tell us why your not working on the other half of your building, you could have simply told us. As a former builder , your reason makes no sense to me.
😱 What are these ridiculously weak and wobbly things called? I- beams respectively I- joists? No way something like this would be allowed for building structures/houses/homes in Germany. Thank God!

We need to share the videos, they deserve more subscribers. ❤

It’s amazing how fast it’s gone from dirt to slat the frames. Hats off to you both.

You can do anything you two set your mind to it. Using your machinery for heavy lifting and moving is what they are there for. Go for it.
So much more fun than digging trenches! You’ve come such a long way!😍🇨🇦
The wheels are always turning great thinking Jacob & Natalie

Good team! She says “You’re so strong.” Jedi mind trick. Go Natalie!
When there’s a will there’s a way. We just need more will nowadays! Love your channel. Looking forward to more of your house builds, and your videos.
Glad you came to your senses to forego walking on top!😅 Brilliant solution!
So glad you chose to play it safe! I’m terrified going from a ladder to the roof, so walking the beams?? Yea, not in this life 🤭👍❤️
I follow a lot of utube channels but I always save the best to last
Great job guy's your moving right along ! Love watching all your progress!

Great way to move the I-Joists.
Necessity is the mother of invention. Great job! 👍🏻 You had me worried when you first said you were going to walk them over…😵💫🤪
Better solution/ Thanks for taking us along
Great idea Jacob!
The home is coming together. Great job!
You guys are really making some good progress! Keep up the great work! Love what you guys are doing.

Likely story... you just don't want to mess up your little basketball half court - lol. Seriously... great to see you make good progress.
Great job guys and I really enjoyed it …….. stay safe out there and have a bless day …… 🤓
Great Job! keep up the good work.

Great job enjoyed your video today
smooth operators! :)
Looks good ❤
The ones that walk the beams do it all the time
Hey the house is coming along really good you guys keep up the good work
😊great job
Get a log dolly and put it on the end tah dah!
If you are watching please subscribe - great family, great channel!😍🇨🇦
It's pretty obvious, it you frame the other end of the house, you'd have to find a place to put the kids basketball hoop! lol
Iam so glad to watch you build your house.❤❤❤😍🥰😉🫠🙃🫶🫶🫶🫶👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏👊👊👊
As Johnny Cash says..you walk the line...lol
❤😊❤😊❤😊
How about some GRK vs. nailing blocking?
The shorter I-beams need to move forward to provide tongue weight instead of tongue lift.
Forward weight your trailer.
Block under the beams on the back of the trailer
👍👍👍👍👍
Dont touch stuff twice if you can help it. If you take the smaller ones just put them on the trailer and take them up . Then get the large ones.
👍👍
⚒👍
First like and comment 🎉

That's definitely a huge part of the reason. Thanks 🙂
You need a hitch with a drop

Walk the roof like the amish do.
👍🏼😁♥️

RUclips used to be so darn great before Google bought it. It hasn’t been the same since.
Why does he not have a harness on

I’ll bet Jacob has a very good reason. He is doing an amazing job!😍🇨🇦
