Thanks, Jules: I didn't know how hard this is after a 2 week break because of Covid. Cardio is no problem, but weights are another story. I will do this every other day to get my strength back. Rain, storm, snow and sunshine in LA. Crazy. We are not used to that. Take care.
I read about the snow in LA…crazy. I hope your power stayed on (assuming it did since you could follow this workout). I’m glad you’re easing into exercising. I felt the same way after I had it and it took a while to get my energy back.
Just what I needed to prep for my babysitting stint tomorrow. Squats - to get down on floor level, arm strengthening to hold that darling baby boy. Thanks, Jules!
I'm a new subscriber to your channel, and I have to say a big thank you! I did this workout in the morning and used 3 pound weights, which was a little too much for me. I tried the workout again in the afternoon and used 2.5 pound weights, and it was perfect! Thanks again for taking the time to make these workouts for seniors. I can't wait to try more of your videos and introduce my husband to them as well!

Just getting back to my normal routine after a 6-day getaway! (On two of those days, I walked 12,000+ miles, while enjoying tours of Civil War battlefields near Charleston, SC.) I "found" this one, and I did enjoy the use of weights. And of course...LOVE THEM SQUATS!!!!
Hi Jules. It was nice to see a short little toning up this morning. I used it this morning after doing your 1600 steps. I had a medical appt. this morning so it was a great workout before I had to leave. My Pulmonary Dr was really, really happy to know I workout 5 days a week.
@@ImprovedHealth I am really happy as well. My breathing had better levels than they were two years ago. Be proud of how you help without even knowing it. Exercise is so much more about strengthening the body. Especially as we age. Too many focus on only weight loss with only cardio.
@@loonielaura It's absolutely awesome to read about how your breathing levels are better than two years ago. That's super exciting (just as much for me as it is exciting for you!). Thanks for encouraging words about my videos and how they help. 💖💖💖
I've just bought some weights so this video is a great way to start my strength practice with them. I am finding your range of videos really useful for wet days when I don't really want to go out for my daily walk and now winter is approaching. Thank you
I currently only have 4.4lbs dumbbells. I put them down when I need to but proud of myself for trying and for how good my upper body feels when I use the weights.
If you find your heart rate is still high at the end, just make sure you move around for a little while longer at a slower pace to get the heart rate back down again:)
Nice combo of arm & leg movements, Jules! Being a senior, I didn't need weights to get my heart rate up & the pace was just right to get everything moving - thank you!
Thank you for doing workouts my 73 yr old mom can do with me as well. And it is a good workout to do that is easy on the joints. Thank you keep them coming please
Jules, I want to thank you for posting your workouts. You have helped alot of us. I am in my 70th and I am exercising more because of you. I been telling people about your RUclips channel ❤❤😊😊❤😊
Well Jules, that was enough for me today, after using my heavy leaf blower!! My arms felt the best today, it's why I'm glad I did your short workout!! Thank you
Not sure what I'm ever going to do if you take your videos down. It's hard to find a special exercise program one can connect with and this is it. I'm 49 years old and am hoping to continue with these for years to come. From Seattle USA :-)
Hi Lisa, I don't ever plan to take my videos down so they should continue to be here as long as you need them:) Thank you so much for letting me know that you're enjoying them. I really appreciate it.❤️
Great for a short combo workout! Love the Spring-like decor, too. It's amazing how much the background can contribute to the overall experience of the workout.
Hi, I cannot tell you how much you have already helped me‼️ I started my weight loss journey in June,(lost 25, 55 or 60 to go yet) but really just started recently getting super serious about regularly exercising again after on & off and quitting for 3 months. You explain so well, show the exercises & how to do them so well. I truly can’t thank you enough. ❤
Oh excellent!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know that you're enjoying the various workouts. Congrats on making exercise part of your life and for working hard to lose 25 lbs! I look forward to reading your progress again down the road:)
I put aside all my morning activities and immediately went 'into battle'. For lack of time, I did not look for light weights. I sweated a bit because it was hard, but I survived. Thank you so much, Jules, for the cool exercises. I didn't take breaks, even though with dumbbells I always do, But is it really the case that when using dumbbells you have to take one-minute breaks so that it's not just aerobics, but also strength exercises?💛
You don't need to take breaks when the weights are light as in this workout. If at any point you feel like you need a break, by all means, put the weights down briefly and pick them up again when you're ready to:)
@@ImprovedHealth Thank you, but I'll ask the question again if I may :) because I don't think we understood each other, Jules. Some trainers believe that if lifting dumbbells is to be EFFECTIVE as a WEIGHT exercise, you need to take minute breaks, otherwise the whole workout feels like aerobics. For me, it is always important that lifting dumbbells in all circumstances is a muscle development exercise. I don't want to do two workouts i.e. one as aerobics and the other for muscle strength training because I don't have time for that. So is a session like the current one a muscle development exercise even though I don't take breaks? Do you even agree with the trainers who say what I wrote above, because maybe they (one claimed so) are wrong?
Excellent advice to me, to skip the weights to protect my arm...I was tempted to use light weights, but listened to you...better to take it slowly. I also tried to do all the arm movements, very gently when necessary, to avoid having my arm "freeze" up. I had that happen years ago when I had a torn rotator cuff. Not fun! Thanks Jules, for your thoughtful help.
So appreciate your combo sessions coupling weights with walking. Nice doing the traveling knee lifts to work "going backwards" muscles. You think of everything!
I'm sometimes inconsistent with working out, and today I was "fighting" with myself plus a bit depressed. So I bit the bullet because I know that when I get up and move I'm energized and happier. Now to start your Now to start one of your series workouts! Thank you!!!
I am SO glad to read that you found the motivation to work out and felt better for it. It is truly amazing how exercise definitely helps us just as much mentally as it does physically. I hope you keep coming back every day.
