@Normal As the thing is, most ferrari 458s you hear have an aftermarket exhaust to make them sound better. Listen to the video again as I think they only have stock ones there. You ma change your mind.

Didn't think there'd be this much of a difference. As much as I love the 458 the Z06 genuinely sounds better. What a strange world, where an American flatplane crank sounds better than an Italian one. Though, people will have a hard time admitting this, if ever.

@@TheCarKrazeOfficial Yeah. What it comes down to is that the 458 is simply too sterile. The Z06 nearly has an LFA sound. Again, this will be considered sacrilege in the car world... comparing the best sounding car of all time to a mere Corvette, but it really does sound quite close. And I'll subscribe now.

@@RyanKurt_ Sorry - the Camero is not a flagship car no matter what you say. The C8 has been preached for so long that Chevy still failed to deliver.
Regarding the square steering wheel - that just tells the world that the designers don't know what they're doing!!! There is absolutely zero advantage for this design. It actually is a disadvantage to have it!
World class manufacturers don't do this nonsense that seems to be a common on GM products!!!

Yeah honestly I always loved the styling of corvettes but never was a fan of the engine. Sounded like every other muscle car out there but holy crap the new z06 sounds so freaking good 🤤 are you subscribed?
@@TheCarKrazeOfficial Well the older corvettes and the modern corvettes were barely sports cars, I'd say it's basically a "what if a muscle car could actually go around corners" type of cars. Besides, you're not wrong about sounding like muscle cars, Corvettes basically have the same engines as Camaros. Like the previous generation Z06 Corvette, it shared the same engine as the ZL1 Camaro. The only engines that is basically the Corvette's alone are usually the ZR1 models and this new Z06. I'm guessing Chevy uses the best engine on the Corvette because if they used the better engine in the Camaro, it would most likely undercut the Corvette just like Pontiac did with Chevy.
geez... I kinda expected the 458 to walk all over the z06 because it redlines higher... but the rev progression of the z06 has that sharp logarithmic boost in speed past around 7k that gives me the impression that it sounds even higher-pitched (it could be phantom pitch from the fletcher-Munson curve). This is probably due to the harmonic resonance controlled by the valve pattern opened inside the throttle-body. Thank's for making the video, the z06 is beautifully violent!

Z06 sounds so much better to me it’s deeper and and still has that high pitched 👌🏾 don’t get me wrong the 458 sounds amazing when you rev it out to 9k rpm but the Z06 is hitting hard haha

The z06 sounds like the older Ferrari 355, which had the best exhaust note IMO.
Yeah the F355 had one of the best sounding v8s and the z06 captured it perfectly. It blends all the Ferrari v8 sounds and morphs it into one exhaust note. Are you subscribed?

The Z06 has a slightly throatier sound than that's not sharp as the 456 at idle due to the exhaust tip design. Under acceleration, the Z06's sound is unquestionably better...IMO

458s with custom exhausts like FI are some of the best sounding cars, can't wait to hear the Z06 with similar custom exhaust, it's going to be up there with the pantheon of best sounding cars ever.

As a person who's favourite car list includes the 458 I have to say that Chevy sounds absolutely magnificent, maybe even better than the Ferrari, that means we have a sort of improved and modernized 458

This is a statement I never thought I would say. But the corvette actually sounds better
While I still like the sound of the pushrod V8 of pre-C8 Corvettes, the C8 Z06 has got the Ferrari beat. It reminds me of the wonderful soundtrack of the F1 cars in "Grand Prix".
I loved the crossplane crank sound too, especially in the zr1 but this is a total game changer, and definitely an icon in the car world now! Are you subscribed?

The C8 Z06 is an instant classic. If you have the money you should buy one ASAP. Not just because it's an incredible car, but it is the world's most powerful naturally aspirated flat plane v8 and it will likely remain so throughout history. Not because it's not possible to make one that's even more powerful, but because everything is transitioning over to EV. There may never be another car like this again AND there is a historic shortage of silicon right now meaning that there are likely going to be fewer Z06's than for any other Corvette. It's actually a bit poetic that Corvette finally reaches it's apex just as ICE sports cars may be sunsetting into history. After they cease production of the C8 Z06 it's value is going to SKYROCKET.
Sorry but the Ferrari sounds like an uncapped moped. The Z06 rules especially for price for performance.

You're crazy. They've sounded amazing forever. An ls or lt motor with full exhaust would drown out any high pitched euro car easily. Like thunder rolling down the street. That's why they loved the vettes over in France during Le Mans. You can feel the rumble in your chest. Experienced it many times at the 12hrs of Sebring races.

Z06 FTW. The corvette is going to raise the bar yet again in every way except price. It will be over 100k I’m sure for the Z06 but still half the price of the Ferrari. The Z06 will be amazing on the Nurburgring and should there be a ZR1 with turbos or even the 90* crank 6.2 supercharged it will be unreal as well. The current Vette light to light busts most heads with 495hp. Not that it’s a lowly amount of power just that pushrod loish redline is hard to beat even with turbos and all wheel drive. 💪🏻👊🏻
I feel like the new zo6 kind of embodies that "Fuck you" energy that the gt40 had when ford decided to stick it to all the Italian/exotic car companies when they first won the 24 hour le mans. Sometimes you have to make titans shake in their boots. Fantastic job from GM and the good ol' USofA

As much as I almost hate to admit it, the ZO6 honestly sounds better than the 458 in some aspects (the C8 sounds better while revving, however, the 458 sounded better in the flyby). It’s honestly quite shocking how well the corvette team were able to emulate the 458’s engine, especially the sound.
