The BAMF series, is a great daily subwoofer, compared to the mofo series. My wife wanted a budget build 2 years ago, so we bought 6 of the BAMF 152 subs (15") d2, built a 6th order for 4 of them, in a Honda hatch. Kept 2 for spares just in case. The BAMF subs are less efficient subwoofers, So they like smaller enclosures, versus higher efficiency subs needing bigger enclosures. We ran the 4 on a 8k full bridge, clamped a tad over 6800 watts clean, and was very loud. Was very impressed with them, and never had any issues with them. Sold the car about 6 months or so ago, and the guy still drives it daily. And i have never been "easy" on any subs. Good video..
Nice video, I know not many people are fans of the brand, but I had 2 JL Audio 12W6V2's coils go bad at the same time, $1,000.00 of subs shot, wanted something fast and sounding good, went and got 3 Gothic 12's, they replaced the W6's and sounded just about the same. So what if they can't handle what the company specs are, they are great sounding subs for a person on a budget, not everyone has thousands of dollars to spend to make their sound system good. I have demos of every sub I just mentioned in this comment on my channel. Great video by the way, I'm sure it helped many people make a final decision for their own setup.
I don't like over rating companies either but doesn't every single budget company do that these days? Like he says, as long as they sound great for the great price point what's to not like... My last system was a hds2 soundqubed 15" with a 4500.1 Orion amp.... Soundqubed is pretty accurate with their specs but I don't consider them a budget sound system company which is it seems those companies are the 1s that just can't tell the truth when it comes to their products... It's obviously their marketing techniques in hopes they can move as much product as possible & try to compete with the sales of the JL's & Alpines & Rockford Fosgate"'s etc... That are probably 3x's the price points but everyone knows those companies as that's what your usually paying for is their heavy marketing & advertising.... But I gotta say, even as a more competition seeker individual as I am... I love having money in my account & also having a banging system so I can't find anything to hate about power acoustics everything I've ever owned of theirs was stupid cheap & overly impressive to hear.
It’s hilarious reading these comments bashing or downplaying his comparison videos. You need to test this...this was pointless...etc. Then most go on to say you need to test this because I have this in my car. Just because you own a certain brand of equipment, doesn’t mean that’s the ONLY brand of equipment out there. Parker is putting out information on many different brands of subs. If you’re in the market for a sub, this could save you some money. Most bass heads are on a tight budget, that’s why most of his reviews are on budget lined equipment. Just my opinion. Take it easy on the guy. He’s doing great things on this channel.

As a side note: I use my Sub for my home theater sound system(1500 watts)., connected via 2 sub pre-amp output wires leading to 2 Sub line-in connectors on a 4*600 (2400 total)watts, 4 channel amp, powered by an AC/DC 12V power adapter. 2 channels are for the Sub so it puts out about (1200 watts) via both channels using the amp alone. My Sub Box is a dual ported internal bandpass system with the speaker contained enclosed and sealed inside the box, where the air in front of the Sub is totally compressed as it has nowhere else to Go. The only air flow comes from the back of the Sub through the ported vents alone. It is about 3.5 square foot enclosure. The Bass is deep and smooth, but my current Sub is lower power(1500 watts) than the BAMF 154(3800 watts) and can't handle stress tests, but it does shake the place. I'll leave a comment here to update when the new Sub arrives.
I know Im randomly asking but does anybody know of a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any assistance you can give me.
@Elian Camilo Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The mofo 122x is no joke. I'm running 2 in a vented box on an autotek 2050.1. I keep discussing changing my wiring around because I'm wired at .5ohm. but subs and amp are killing it And when people see what my settings are at they are amazed
Its a great cheap sub and very loud, it lasted me 3 years pushing real true 1000 watts RMS. It honestly hits every bass frequency without an issue, I just bought another one because of that reason. Bought the NVX 12 and the bamf sounds better oddly, and a lot cheaper ....
Sony Xplod is a great subwoofer, quality built, and underrated by people because walmart sold them, but best buy sold them too. Best Sound Quality subwoofer for the money
Thanks for checking out the cheaper brands...not sure if you're familiar with NVX but the VCW line seems solid...I have the VCW154 ported in a van and it gets surprisingly loud in a less-than optimal box...would love to see a head-to-head comparison of the VCW 12 to the other subs...cheers!
@@MrShiffles Yeah, Exo has a ton of good videos. I think nvx is a solid budget brand from what I've seen. Subs, amps and ofc copper wire kits all good quality. They won't blow your mind, but they are good quality, and do their proper rated RMS power.
I believe the MOFO is a continuation of the old FUBR/FUBAR series from the mid-2000's Decent subs, although they are not anywhere near the 2700 watt claim. I'd say somewhere around 500-1000 watts (RMS-MAX)
Its already done videos are already up. all said and done both the gothic and bmf and mofo series handle their rated power and over. These subs showed only minimum cone smell and heat at 20 hertz. They handled everything thrown at them but the cone smell was noticeable. None of the 3 quit nor did they get hot to touch. These are not bullshit budget subs. So I don’t know why all the hate. Plainly put they are loud as shit with correct power and cost hundreds less then subs they can go head up with. Look at the price of a mofo versus a sundown sa vs. actual performance or deaf bounce…. This guy must be crazy
More excursion doesn't mean it sounds better lmao😂😂😂😂. The mofo is more efficient on the same power so it won't move as move much with the same power. That's baaic physics lol. And the magnet does weigh 373 oz, that's just about 23 pounds lmao. What are you talking about in this video. Put the sub on a scale for Christ's sake.
good video , i dont understand power acoustik and why they did a type s and type x mofo , i also dont get why my older mofo has a bigger motor than both and a 3'' coil and much stiffer cone . also the cone on this one looks like the type S so they must have changed that recent , seems they are just kinda lost lol . willing to bet my old mofo would crush both of these . only thing the same is basket lol .
I have the first MOFOs 4'' voice coil 50 pound sub. I'd say they're 1000 wrms a piece. Paid $60 for them in a Kicker CVR box. Kept the subs gave the box to my brother.
Doesn't matter because PA ain't advertising their mofos with a 300oz magnet. And no one is here for American Bass. We're here for some down and dirty $119 vs however expensive the BAmF is.
@@basserex4991 i had decent results with the mofo 124x after I built a custom box tuned to 31hz, but upgraded to a skar evl 12 and it's night and day better. Mofo is probably the better of these two. Mine's still in excellent shape after 3 years of running her before it was retired.
I own hundred's of sub's and amps now. I am helping my daughters boyfriend come along now. My newer videos show his progression from beginning install to where he is now. My system is constantly changing as I buy new equipment to demo.
I like my two Mofo-122X subs well enough. I have them in a 1.8 cubic foot box (per side / divider) and ported at 34Hz. I have 900w RMS on them so it's not like they're being ran super hard but they do alright. I was gave one barely used so I bought another one to match it.
The Reaper this is a lersonal view point based on one users opinion which is from his perspectives. its nothing wrong with that but to compare a set of subs in a more true form, each should be used in tgeir own spec box on the same power and the Mofo is of an older design and a better sub than the BAMF but the BAMF are a newer design and hold its own.
You need to get that electrical up to par. Dropping into the 11 volt range is not good for any of your equipment! And you need a custom box built for for that vehicle. Sub up port facing the hatch door and it will make a dramatic difference in your vehicle.
My voltage from to 12 when slamming hard I have 0 gauge from the from battery to the back into 2nd battery into amplifiers. I think a Xs power battery would help I have a Optima up front yellow top
Have you ever tested the 12 inch American Bass Titan it says it's a 1600 Watts max and also the American Bass XD 12 inch that says 1000 Watts max Wondering which is the best between the two subwoofers but yeah I like the American Bass Subwoofers too I had two of the American Bass elite 12 inch subwoofer 2400 Watts max 1200 watts RMS subwoofer and that thing slammed hit hard I hate I ended up selling them , thanks for all your reviews it really helps someone like me that's not that knowledgeable about audio equipment . Thank you one Bass head Heath
Parker, please tell me real quick, what's a better 12 inch Between the power acoustik bamf 12 vs the audiopipe bd2 12. Please tell me your honest opinion, and Why. Thanks in advance
Would you suggest the power acoustic or the American bass I want to put two 15" subs in my 08 f150 and I don't know what to get or power them with. Like to keep my total at $1k or less
Mofo’s can get loud! Buddy of mine had a wall with 6 15’s and 3 huge amps and it banged it could set off bank alarms driving by! I myself had 2 12’s and they hit good but was one note wonders! I also had the splw122 12’s with the 4inch coils and those where incredible subs for what they where! They come in nice wooden cabinets and everything. Those two 12’s and a US2000X ripped the trunk lid off my neon several times! That and it was power hungry!
HI IM JUST STARTING OFF AND I HAVE TO DO A BUDGET BUILD. BECAUSE I JUST DON'T HAVE THE MONEY. WHICH 12-INCH MODEL SUBWOOFER WOULD YOU BUY FOR $100 TO $130 DOLLARS. THXS👍
Just looking from the camera distance and angle.. The motors look nearly the exact same size but the BAMF & MOFO have a shorter throw distance. I'm not looking at the entire construction of subwoofer I am looking at the ceramics or rather the ceramic discs. Take into consideration that the subwoofers you're comparing them to have chrome end caps on the motor giving it an extra 1/4 to 1/2 inch throw and may give the appearance to look bigger. But again, I am looking at it from your camera angle.
Another good video I keep watching. I had a pair of mofos and they were actually supprisingly louder than what I thought they would be. Supprisingly. Keep up the great vids. 👍
First off i like effort u put into the video. It give most the general idea. Ppl always online tryin to tell others what to do. How to do it. Why it dont work. Why it sucks etc... But never post their own vids of the so called correct way etc. Keep doin what ur doin. One thing i wanna note. Oz converted to lbs... is actual light weight. 272 oz is 17 lbs 372 oz is only 23 lbs Approximates So the magnets are really heavy either way
I had the Power Acoustik MOFO - 12 2400 watts max 1200 rms dual 2ohm voice coil w/ 3" BASV/Kapton hybrid and it was about 13 or 14 years old and it just blew the other day. I dont know what Ill do now, I want a little more but it already rattled my rearview off!!
Hold up.......I have 2 15s mofos and I love them! I have never had any problems out of mine! The 2500watt razor amp is true power and hits hard! I hate how ppl underestimate the power of power acoustik. Jus got a better, more powerful amp from power acoustik also
I have the power acoustik gothic gw124 subs in my trailblazer and they are hooked up to a Kenwood 2000 watt class d monoblock 2 ohm stable amp and they slam really hard
Can't wait for Audiopipe vid Parker! Couple of idea's Maybe think about trying an SQ sub to show guys how they soubd differ as compared to more of an SPL sub. Id go with Dayton Audio from parts express. 2. EMF Lowballer Sub. 3. Comparison between Dark Audio's entry level sub to Soundqubes entry level sub (basically $ 100) Just a couple Idea's I's love to see ya tackle. Keep up the great work brother!
Id love to see him test SQ subs! But if he does SQ subs he will have to get a better quality amp because those rp amps are the last ones you wanna use to push SQ subs they have bad sound quality compared to other amps that are the same price
Love your channel bro, keep it up I'm going to get those american bass elites I love the look they got, american muscle. Pushing diablo 12$),d4 3500 wt for now and they cracked my windshield, hard when set right. Thanks bro
Hey I'm running almost identical set up 1200.1 d skar on bamf122 that box doesn't do it any justice. I'm running with 2.3cu ft box with round port tuned at 29hz and I am so impressed. I bought 2 of them to replace 2 sdr 12d4's and so impressed I sent one back and just am now focusing on getting the most from this sub already only one I'm banging around 115 . Actually considered a 4th 6th or different variation of enclosure looking for any suggestions on the matter. Bamf÷ bad ass mutha fuckka. And it is!
I blew the 12" gw-124 but they definitely hit decent and I have gothic 10". handles about the same watts as gw-124 both in the recommended size ported boxes. Paid 80$ each so good price
I like the video..I had 2 BAMF 12s..the 2ohm version and the 4ohm version..I pushed them both on a hifonics Brutus class D 2 channel bridged..burned them both..lol..just ordered the Rockville destroyer 12..same set up..gonna see how it goes..
@@ParkerTheBasshead I just found out that the MOFO Xmax is 21mm. My BAMF-152 is only 14mm Xmax. Did you hear a big difference between 14mm Xmax to the 21mm Xmax.
If you wanted to do a dual amp setup with 4 12s you could run 2 for the bamf 12s on one amp for lower bass because of the hight role surround and 2 of the mofo 12s for higher bass due to the normal surround
Love the video . I just subscribed to your channel. I've watched a few of your others. all good info. I appreciate the time you put into this video. Comparing the 2. I would definitely get the BAMF as well. BUT, what I try to tell everyone, and I can guarantee this from alot of experience is that if your going to spend, about a hundred on a subwoofer, the best bang for your buck, (by far) is a SoundQubed HDS2.1 or if you have just a few more bucks, get a HDS3.1. Listen, power Acoustic is what it is. They will play hard, but I'm telling you, Power Acoustic subs are really not worth the money especially when you take a look at the SoundQubed HSS3.1 and the HDS2.1. The HDS2.1 being cheaper than the Bamf will kill it head to head guaranteed! I'm about to post my first video showing my SQ system. 2 HDS3.1's 15's walled on a S12250 clamping a max of 2530 watts on music in a c-pillar walled minivan. If anyone wants to see it.
Yeah I had a 15" hds2.1 with an Orion 4500.1 amplifier clamp tested was only pushing about 1100Watt RMS on its best day & that sub was getting tired of being played with... It wanted... No... It NEEDED more power & I think their rates at like 2500max 1200rms if I remember correctly & in all honesty I think they could handle close to twice that if you felt the need to that is! Which I felt the need to, I just didn't have the financial ability to lol ended up selling the system cuz it wouldn't fit in my new ride.... Really miss that wicked ass sub! Lol I was debating on getting 2 of these bamfs but you've got me thinking about checking out soundqubed again tbh
I got two mofo 122x's hooked up to a kicker cx1800 @ 2 ohms and my keys in the ignition jingle,i had to take my rearview mirror out, my side mirrors i constantly gotta re adjust with the button cus they rattle into a different position eventually, i had to turn to LED brake lights because i kept blowing my left brake light, and i hit 130 Decibels all from 1800 watts rms in a chevy cobalt
nice..i like my mofos..but somrthin happemned to mines.... so i was going to try bamf till i seen you put that american bass beside them..and felt the wait...well now ..i prolly go for that..thanx man..God bless
Cool video man. Also the box 📦 makes a huge difference. Each sub has its own specs an needs a certain setup to get full potential. I personally would not spend my money on any of these subs. But for the average bass head just starting its ok. U can get a lot of better subs for around the same price
I get a boner when i see those orion. I was wanting a couple hcca . Those speakers are insane. Except didn't want to caugh up 1200 just for woofers.then mandatory upgrades under hood, batts, whole shabang , no less than 4-5k later
3 subs, same enclosure, and 1 expectation to do their best! 🤔 I'm confused. How can you tell if the box isn't built to the specs? My opinion they both did well considering the skar amplifier didn't blow them. The gain on the amp is really about clipping more so volume. So the subs did great handling the skar
The original old school mofos has 270 ounce magnets for the 10 and 12 and 340 for the 15. I had a 15 in 2003 and later swapped it for 2 12's same subs. Hardest hitting subs I had in the early 2000's until I got my 15" cv strokers second generation lower level series.
How are you liking that skar amp? What cable are you usin to hook it up, looks like 0 gauge stinger cable. The only issue i see with the bamf is how tight those tinsel leads are, they'll certainly be prone to stress fractures over time. If they ,ade then a tiny bit longer it for another 2 bucks, it would be a perfect budget sub.
My friend the channel is doing really top notch work. Keep up what your doing and you will be the next EXO . If you really want a good selection for budget bangin try the soundqubed hds12 for 94 dollars , you will be surprised with this sub .
Have you ever tested anything from Planet Audio? I have a bbd12b that I bought off Amazon and so far it sound good. I'm a big fan of Planet Audio but would like to see someone put there stuff through some serious testing!
I love my skar monoblock rp2000.1 amp so much that I got its lil brother rp1500.1 to push my audiopipe txx bdc2 12s.....the rp2000.1 pushes bdc3's. .....I just gotta figure out how I'm gonna get the right size box for all 4 subs to fit in the trunk of my nova.....the box I have now is a sealed 1cu ft per sub box..I know it's holding me back, but trunk space is limited
@@johndough4338 by far I had the bamf122 and it would hit 28hz all day with 1000 watts and the lows in the right box it would get nasty flex my cab hard I went to the 15” bamf 152 and it’s even better for the lows but but for solid bass I would have the 12” ported box
@@adamh38 ... Thanks bro, I appreciate the response. And you are familiar with the audiopipe bd2s right? The reason why I asks this question in the first place is because my boy has 6 bd2s 12 inch subs in a 99 suburban in a custom built box faced up, and it sounds deep & loud on the outside. I told him it probably would hit harder on the inside if the 12s, were faced to the rear instead. Me myself, I just got a trailblazer, and I figure if I had 6 bd2s as well, it will hit harder in my truck because it's smaller. But if I can get a sub that's better than a bd2 for a good price, I'll be overly happy. I already have a few good Big amps work with, and I'm no amateur at car audio. It's just I was going to spend 200-240-ish a sub, but I know it's possible to have a banging system using less expensive subs instead, and this time around, I'm really not trying to break the bank on the subwoofers, but still get the most sub I can get for the buck.

I'm still running old JBL 10 inch GTIs but I would probly bet they keep up with today's subs
Funny thing is I just ordered a BAMF 154 before I found your video! Your video gives me a better idea of what to expect! Thank you!
Ok my sub arrived, but now I need a new sub box. I'll update when I have a new sub box.

The mofo 122x is no joke. I'm running 2 in a vented box on an autotek 2050.1. I keep discussing changing my wiring around because I'm wired at .5ohm. but subs and amp are killing it And when people see what my settings are at they are amazed
I have the 15. New Dyno videos also.
I respect u testing all these subs bud because if Been around most of them and I do wonder...thanks✌️
Did the power acoustik bamf 12 really sound better than the nvx 12 for real??
@johndough4338 absolutely!! It hits every bass frequency, even in a sealed box to spec, and handles power wayyy better than the NVX.
@@DjXCENTRiC ... Hey friend, can you send me a link to the actual nvx model 12 that you are referring too? I'll gladly appreciate it.
i took the time to log and type a comment, because you deserve it.
Got the same subs in a qbomb ported box definitely hitting with 2800 watts
Surprised the mirrors ain't moving more. I had a 1200 watt Sony xplode on a 500 watt amp in a 1.50 cuft box and the mirrors vibrate like crazy.
Exo did a build with four Vcw 12's in a 4th order box, on two of Nvx's 3k amplifiers. It wasn't the best looking build, but it definitely got loud.
@@catch22frubert i remember watching those videos...i like the one he did with 2 in a 4th that went in the trunk of a car
@@MrShiffles Yeah, Exo has a ton of good videos. I think nvx is a solid budget brand from what I've seen. Subs, amps and ofc copper wire kits all good quality. They won't blow your mind, but they are good quality, and do their proper rated RMS power.
How's the sound quality can you compare to other subs
For sure. I love all bass. Inexpensive and not so inexpensive.
I believe the MOFO is a continuation of the old FUBR/FUBAR series from the mid-2000's
Decent subs, although they are not anywhere near the 2700 watt claim. I'd say somewhere around 500-1000 watts (RMS-MAX)
Some of the bass tracks were absolutely slamming in my truck !
Kinda cook to hear what you're hearing !
I think that's a great idea to test whether the subs can handle their rated power. I'd watch those videos all day just like amp dynos
Well if the SMD AMM1 ever comes back in stock I’ll do it!

BAMF actually sounded pretty good and seemed to have better excursion!
Yes much better excursion!
Yeah. The bamf was impressive.
What amp would you recommend to power 2 of these
You should have done the old ones. They are better then the new one's. I have a ct sounds 1400.1 amp on my two 12 mofos and they work fine
Michael Miller They Really were the only subwoofer I couldn’t bust
I had Fubars many many years ago, power hungry as hell, but they did work great.
The old mofos were nasty asf
What's the point of doing the test with out-of-production subs? Complete waste of time.
Ok I have a mofo but mine looks different like on the back magnet looks like a terminator skull thing is that the 1 y'all r referring 2
good video , i dont understand power acoustik and why they did a type s and type x mofo , i also dont get why my older mofo has a bigger motor than both and a 3'' coil and much stiffer cone . also the cone on this one looks like the type S so they must have changed that recent , seems they are just kinda lost lol . willing to bet my old mofo would crush both of these . only thing the same is basket lol .
Yes exactly! It really doesn’t make any sense
@@rogerdavis4565 says mofo X on the motor , i thought the same thing but they must have changed the cone and dustcap again on the X

Chris H i got the same i got one 15 it’s heavy as hell and it’s loud i love it
Are you running all this on a stock alternator? And is that a clean version of Thug Motivation 101 lol?
Doesn't matter because PA ain't advertising their mofos with a 300oz magnet. And no one is here for American Bass. We're here for some down and dirty $119 vs however expensive the BAmF is.
And no. His electric is upgraded so he has an aftermarket alternator and perfect 1/0 wiring to a low(?) discharge 2nd battery.
@@JohnEboyee Hello! are this speakers good? Whats better?

The Lanzer Opti-pro Subwoofer are a steal for a Build period. They are on Amazon.
Finally, I was waiting for this video 👍
The Reaper me too just for 15’s
The Reaper this is a lersonal view point based on one users opinion which is from his perspectives.
its nothing wrong with that but to compare a set of subs in a more true form, each should be used in tgeir own spec box on the same power and the Mofo is of an older design and a better sub than the BAMF but the BAMF are a newer design and hold its own.
They both sounded pretty good
I run 4 bamfs in a box where each sub is in its separate enclosure with 4 ports on a American bass vfl 5500 with a cap and battery and love them
I really like how informative wit things bro you do good job explaining what you are doing
Glad to hear man!!
There’s a few subs high end ones that are not sewn, just saying
Yes, but it's just added quality. I perfer a sub that is sewn bc its stronger than just glue.
Also lots of high end subs use 8 gauge push terminals...

Yeah you really have to see it in person to tell how big of a difference it is

How are you liking that skar amp? What cable are you usin to hook it up, looks like 0 gauge stinger cable.
