There’s like 25 different no name subs on Alibaba. I want to see them all tested! Sundown Audio owns a proper magnetizer so you are getting full power with them.
There's many different ways to make a bad subwoofer, but only a few ways to make it good. I would not suspect that the cheap subs use poor magnetizers, my guess would be they make the gap too wide to give extra tolerance for the quickly put together parts with little to no quality control. This reduces the chances of a coil rubbing, but really reduces the motors strength.

Relative loudness at the windshield is a function of the vehicles resonant frequency, the location of the box, its vent or sealed baffle direction etc. I would be curious to see him swap the woofer out to lots of other brands in the same box facing the same way and play the same tracks. Seeing him compare those results to what a program like Winisd or similar software shows would also be interesting. I used to do DB Drag in a 1978 Toyota pickup with a 20R engine. That box started with (2) JL Audio 10" W3D2s that hit 146+db at 45hz at one of the DB Drag shows in the (2) woofer category. It was powered by (2) Crossfire cheater amps that were rated at like 35watts X 2 but at a low enough impedance they would put out 732 watts rms when bridged. That box I tuned for maximum sound quality. Later I built a bigger box that was over 10 cubic foot for (2) Crossfire super cheap DB model 15"s and hit 154.7db at 57hz. That box I tuned specifially to hit 10hz above the vehicles resonant frequency due to the known phenomenon of the resonant frequency shifting up when you pressurize the vehicle due to high spl. I did break my original wind shield but the new one held up well with the wipers bouncing inches off the glass. This was way back in like 2001.

The sa now use the U frames...
@@jayrands5380 Yeah, no shit. It's in the product description.
I wished that we could get over the made in China thingy due to most manufacturers are using those components due to a better profit margin and let's not get it twisted...its all about the revenue.....either you you will like it or you will not and the ultimate goal is does it work well within one's budget.
Thanks for introducing this sub...it is a nice offing for those whom are limited or just starting off in car audio.
Hey hi im trying the get help i have 2 sdrs skar dual coil 2ohm and i habe a taramp bass 3k
And i cant get it rigth how i can set tha gain, low pass and frequensy??
Looks to me like these can be re-coned?
I had the wlldse subs years ago it was the candy purple motor
Also got the 12" version in a skar prefab vented single sub box actually like these for the price I say they are pretty good.
Looks like a sa sundown basket but I have a u series and it’s the same basket but the surround is different
Would be nice for a comparison even if it's a quick mention in the middle of a future SD vid..
I heard this sub in person today it was crazy! He has custom box on it tuned to 35hz and he hit 144db!! With taramps 3k
This is the second time I’ve watched this video. Every time I watch it I die laughing at that DC shot you threw out. It’s a shame cause most of their stuff is fantastic. Either way it’s hilarious and I love the shot taken 😂. Keep bassin on dude and keep torturing those sub!!
Parker what's up with all the AVATAR-STU? A little sneak peak of what's to come soon?
Yessir 👀
Wow! Im about to drop this same subwoofer video this week, I got different results but overall great video!!
Yeah good luck getting one of them uv1 they've been sold out since before this video was shot but for some reason they're still marked on sale
i’m looking for an amp that will power 2 audiopipe bdc4 15s i currently have a hifonics 32001.d but it’s just not loud enough at all. on the amp dyno i’m pretty sure it only puts out 600rms per channel
What watt amp is the apocalypse box behind you on you table?? Or what was that. I seen it at the end of the video.
Update. I had a deer run out in front of me in my xB and totaled it and now I’m going to be using the 4 15s in my Suburban and I’m going to be driving them with either a Taramps T12,000 Chipeo or a Big Boss 8 Bass. Which one of those amps would you recommend to be the strongest one. I know that sounds dumb but I already have the T12 and I’m not impressed with it at all compared with my Smart Bass 5 and that’s why I’m asking.
Hey Parker, it would be cool if you could give us the shipping dimensions and weight. In future videos. It could help everyone who’s not in the continental 48.
I also hope your read your contract with Def Bonce, some of those demo vehicle contracts can kinda put you in a bad spot. Like back in the day I had a buddy do one with M.A. Audio and they pretty much could come and pick his car up if they wanted it for something as long as they gave him 5 days notice.
No contract at all. And paid for all the equipment
@@ParkerTheBasshead that's good, glad to hear. I've been watching you grow for a long time now.
I think I’m just going to do a budget build with 2 of these joints tbh atleast it would be cheaper and better than Skar🤣
This looks like a sub that Sundown made but it didn't pass QC due to a visual defect that wouldn't affect performance. Sundown would have then sold it to a secondary company who resells it under a different name.
They're all made same build house in China same as skar. Every year wlldse drops some serious fkn baddies frfr.
@@christopherparis6841Skar doesn't use this build house. Skar is China Future Sound, and airways has been.. same with Audio Legion, which was the sister company
I remember when big magnet subs like that were a fortune, unattainable, now they are easily attainable for any person with the love for audio.
Hey Parker do you still have any busbars batteries I'm interested in one
You should do the NVX VCW v3 and get the dual 2 and wire on an 8k, last time you barely gave it any power.
Thanks for the test… it’s funny that he refuses to give the sub its props… it did well, but he kept downplaying it… lol
Yeah we want to see it go against sundown and we want to see if it can go 5 minutes or more.
Thats excitting to hear about your new build with DB.
Is it okay to hook up my amp rms 1,200 watts to my car battery?will it drain it quicker or cause problems?
you should deffinetly compare the sundown u15 to this sub im curious to also see your opinion on the sundown u 15
@11:12 what happened you forgot to turn your car on while demoing!🙄
Compared to the skar zvx ??
Dang that thing was taking some power
I had two 10 inch sub of that brand. The handled some power and sond good! But can never find them again.
You should try 12 inch directed sx12d4 I love it it’s been pounding for years
I just got the 12 hcy and Damn, it can probably keep up with the evl skar or maybe even better…..
Ever notice how you act like the black is superior to the clear but yet you have thrashed both and had black coils fail before and clear work flawlessly....so that's proof it's means nothing...
Im looking at replacing my nvx vcw 10's after 4 years. I want something about the same price and rms. Only have 7 inch of mounting depth. Any suggestions?
Le is off the charts at a high 2 this sub made for spl/rap in a ported box
Love my DC subs. I know what box they require. Glad I didn't buy Deaf Bonce ! About to order 6 level 6 18s for my Escalade.
Was thinking about buying dc audio instead I went a fi neo 4.11 18
Hey that sub was great it held up well i wish the were a available here in the uk well worth the money
Bro your in turlock?? Im in Modesto i have a TBSS i need some beat installed into, you do installs?? How can i find you??
Most tend to forget or are oblivious to most today's companies purchase the same parts from the same manufacturer so that their are no such thing as a clone just similar due to the shared parts inventiory.
But their will always be slight differences.
But it all come down to preference and to be truthful me as well as a few others out here will purchase these type of subs rather pay for a brands name because it's a hobby and not full blown competition.
I got the ma515d2 for my dj sub box so far I'm loving the sound
I wish subwoofers for cars didn't force people to play Hip Hop or electronic music in general turned up to 1000 to showcase them. I understand it though. They're pretty underwhelming otherwise. I'm content with just a punchy elevated kick drum. 😂
Try some rebassed music in any genre you like
